Good Sunday morning, Everyfriend.  There's Egg McMuffins to go with your coffee or tea.  Have a blessed Sunday.

Thanks to Phyllis for her lovely “Garden Gazebo” graphic creation which we are using this week.

Chuckles

The 3 Nurses...

Three nurses sadly pass away. They rise up into heaven, and there they approach the gate keeper to plead their case for entering paradise.
So the keeper points to the first nurse, who says: "I worked in an emergency room. I treated many people, and always did my best to help. And although sometimes we would lose patients, I still think I deserve to enter."  The gate keeper glances at her file and admits her to heaven.

The second nurse then says, " I used to work in the operating room, assisting surgeons. It was a lot of stress, and we lost many people, but I always did my best."  The keeper glances at her file and motions her to enter.

"And you?" He asks the third nurse.

"I was a case manager for an HMO. I worked with thousands of patients." She answers confidently.

The gate keeper takes a long and careful look at her file. He pulls out a calculator and starts entering digits quickly, looking back from time to time at the woman's file. After a few minutes like this, the keeper looks up, smiles at her and says: "Congratulations! You've been admitted to heaven...
for five days!"

Food For Thought

Always in His Care

Veteran news reporter Scott Pelley never goes on assignment without his travel essentialsâ€"a shortwave radio, camera, indestructible suitcase, laptop computer, phone, and an emergency locator beacon that works anywhere. “You extend the antenna, push two buttons, and it sends a signal to a satellite connected to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration," Pelley says. “It tells them who and where I am. Depending on what country you’re in, they’ll either send a rescue teamâ€"or not” (AARP The Magazine). Pelley has never needed to use the beacon, but he never travels without it.
But when it comes to our relationship with God, we don’t need radios, phones, or emergency beacons. No matter how precarious our circumstances become, He already knows who and where we are. The psalmist celebrated this as he wrote, “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. . . . You are familiar with all my ways”  (Ps. 139:1-3). Our needs are never hidden from God, and we are never separated from His care.

Amy

Good morning everyone..

A day of rest here today. Love Phyllis's Garden Gazebo....I would like to sit and have my tea in there.

Gloria, I am happy to hear you have your air conditioner in, hot weather is going to come and fast!

Beverly, I am in Ontario,Canada. This cherry wood will be burned in the cookstove if it is dry enough.

Lloyd, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to not doing things and like the rest of us your used to working hard. This is a difficult time for you to stop and listen to what your body is saying and of course this is also a busy time of year on a farm too. Just be patient with yourself and us for caring please.

Jane, I have gotten lazy at gardening, I used to set back on my knees and heels but someone came out with wonderful contraption that you knee down on ,soft for your knees and has a bar on each side to help you up.....love it!!

Carol, glad you found your way back!!  I am trying to behave here and NOT go to a fabric sale 74% off of all her fabric.......think I am losing the battle though .

Kelly, where did you get to???

Joan, thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning, Amy.  Nice that you can rest today.  Now how could you resist a 74% off fabric sale?:)

Well I don't pay action too well alright but I do love you all and am happy you all care. Hard to teach a old dog new tricks.
speaking of dogs Lucky is sort of out the weather. think we will take her to vet tomorrow. hope you all have a great day.

Lloyd

Amy

Joan sorry I did a typo that should have been 75%.

Lloyd, it is hard  not to do the things you're used to doing...seems harder to do than the actual work but you will benefit in the long run. Hope Lucky fares well at the vets'

Hi everyone.  We awoke to a bright, sunny and 72 degree morning with no rain in the forecast for the next couple of days.  Today will be the normal Church day and expect we will go out afterward for a quick lunch and then a restful afternoon.  I do hope everyone has a pleasant day.

Jane, hope your trip home was uneventful and the lines at the airport weren't too long.  Sure glad you are not traveling alone.

Jackie, I would  be glad to see bees being moved away from my yard and expect you are also.

Carol, glad to read here that your computer was OK after downloading Windows 10 automatically.

Amy, we no longer go to garage sales, not that we ever did that very much, as just don't need to put anything else in our home.  What a day you had as that was a lot of hard work done in one day.

June, I sure never found gardening and weeding to be relaxing.  You are quite a lady.  It sounds like you were pretty busy yesterday.

Lloyd, glad to see your posting as was concerned you were not doing well.  It sounds like you might be pushing it a bit with the machinery and your body is telling you to back off for awhile.

Gloria, glad you can now be comfortable in your apartment.  Getting the humidity out really helps.  Nice you had both sons there at the same time.

Shirley, glad your painting outside has been completed.  Do you use your pool much in the summer?

Phyllis, the Garden Gazebo certainly looks like spring in all of its freshness.  Joan, thanks for selecting that one.

Amy, how can you pass up such a bargain with 75% off of the fabric.  Is the lady closing her shop?

Weather is sunny and dry, but looks changeable....it may not last looking at clouds hanging round....
.....................................
We do worry over our pets, our furbaby's, please give Lucky a hug from me...
....................................
Been part busy catching up on washing, I have had the machine going on most of the morning, followed by the dryer...
....................................
We got our shower quote come through, it is not a complete shower we are getting as otherwise we would have to re-tile, just the mixer lever, and I am assuming the shower hose, is that what we call it? anyway I hope that is to be replaced as part of the chrome has become rusty...told that and the stiffness of the dial, was due to our hard water...Plumber is also sorting something under our kitchen sink, ( where the stopcock is ) as every time we turn on the hot kitchen tap it makes a rather strange noise...Anyway man at the plumbing office says it will get done this Tuesday, as long as plumber gets the parts.....
..................................
Larry Hanna, it was sure an eye opener when we first spotted them, a little too close for comfort...

JoanFL

Good morning, Lloyd.  I hope you rest and get to feeling better along with your dog Lucky.

Amy--I thought 74% was a strange discount.:)

Good morning, Larry.  Weather report here is for no rain at all this week.

Vanilla-Jackie--Hopefully the plumber will get all the work needed completed.

Hello world! No programme today because it's a national holiday in Canada.

I began daily exercising on the treadmill about 3 weeks ago and now I can do half a mile in under 20 minutes. I hope eventually to get up to a mile (or more) very soon. I want to be in shape when I get to Israel

Vanilla-Jackie

Don, well-done, just don't push your body too hard....

JoanFL

Good morning Radioman.  GREAT job on the treadmill.  You'll be "fit as a fiddle" when you get to Israel.

June Drabek

Good Sunday Morning all.

Another full nights sleep. Wakened with a phone call from my old friend Harry, whom I met at Sunwest Village. He is still in Hemet but in an assisted care facility. Diabetes is not a healing disease unfortunately, but he does not let it slow him down. He is still out there cheering up the old ladies.

My Gary and Dori are leaving after their Church services to travel to Santa Cruz and visit with my Dan and Nancy for a few days. I am so happy when I know they are together…

Lloyd, I apologize. I would never
"give up" on you. I will keep you in my prayers. I will just add  'asking God to help you take better care of yourself'. You are a grown man and have the right to make your own decisions even if they are the wrong ones…and I shall do the same, trusting in God to keep us sensible and sane.

Larry, I'm sure you and your lady will be off to Church this morning as I will too. Then Sunday will be a day of rest. There are never any programs listed for Sunday here at Rowntree, so I reserve that day to catch up on my snail mail, of which I have plenty.

Another nice day here in Stanton. 71/56 Sun is shining brightly.

Don, I think it is wonderful what you are doing on the treadmill. We don't have a tread mill here, we do have big contraptions that you sit it and push forward on pedals, while the arms move back and forth too, and there is an elec. bike, and a foot massage machine. So there is a choice. The one time a doctor had me do a treadmill, I failed very quickly. He had me lay down and relax, and that was some15 years ago.

Time to get started with the day. I will back and pestering you all after church. Hugs….June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good morning everyone, will be noon soon. Once again I had a check disk scheduled  so it started when I booted up this morning. Takes hours on this machine. Raining lightly once again here. Sue not the kind of day I appreciate.

BEVERLY  the humidity is what gets me. I don't know how it is in Vermont but here in RI when the temperature goes up so does the humidity. Nights are always worse. Another one with a problem with 10. I keep getting a pop up to install it but am leery of doing it. My daughter hates spiders, too, thanks to her brothers. They would scare her with daddy long legs and she still has a fear of them.

SHIRLEY  I have heard from some in the different PSP groups I am in that al lot of the things, like all the different plugins we use, will not work with 10. I am getting to the point where I really hate changes.

JUNE  I enjoyed the 2 ceiling fans I had before. The one in the bedroom I ran every night. I need air moving so I can be comfortable enough to sleep. I am not about ready to install another one here. I would have to pay an electrician to do it when my son could do it. Has to be an electrician the manager chooses.

PHYLLIS  love your graphic for this week. The image is quite familiar.

JOAN  hope there is still an egg McMuffin around for my lunch. My daughter enjoyed the New Teacher you posted yesterday morning. Oh boy that third nurse had the wrong job. Always in HIS Care is another keeper. Thank you for all today's goodies.

AMY  weather guessers are all saying by the end of the week we will be in the 80's. AC in before it starts this time. I have seen those kneelers you have advertised on TV.  Much better than kneeling on the hard ground. No more muddy knees either.

LLOYD  we do worry about you because we all care for you. Hope Lucky is OK.

LARRY  twice recently I have had both sons here at the same time. Made me feel great. They talk often on the phone but both so busy all the time the seldom get a chance to visit.

JACKIE  you will be happy when you can take a shower again.

HAL  hope you do not get any severe storms.

DON  I will miss your program today. Last night went to the Classis forum to get the list and then remembered you did say  you would not be on. You are doing good on the treadmill. There is one ere in the exercise room  but have never seen anyone on it. It faces out a window into the back yard. Would be nice seeing the different birds in those trees and  even a deer at times. I go outside and walk around the parking lot. Nothing to see there but parked cars or someone going out or coming home. That is what I see from my windows. Not my idea of a nice view.

JUNE  there are several diabetics living here and I really get disgusted with them.  They eat all the things that they should not and depend on the meds to take care of it. I have seen some at the different meals and how they fill their plates to over flowing and then have even more of the desserts.  Some could afford to lose 100 pounds even. How great that your sons will get to spend time with each other.

PHYLLIS  enjoy your son's visit.

Good Morning Everyone!

Another day of clouds and more rain, and expected to be so for another full week.
Farrah is back to flinching and hiding. If she follows her usual, she will be more open in the afternoon.

I am beginning to get quite depressed with the clouds, rain, and Farrah. But know it would all be better with a few sunny days so I can get out and about. A couple of minor medical issues and my 16-year-old computer failing are not helping. However, Wednesday, I am getting a refurbished computer from the Literacy Council at a small price due to my being a disabled senior, and hope to have saved enough by fall to purchase a new one. It's more  minor annoyances than major ones.

Vanilla-Jackie

I said our weather looks iffy - changeable....R out with the dogs and I now hear thunder....Dogs wont like that nor will R if that water comes down, he does not like water, in any shape or form....

JoanFL

June--Linda and Ed drove here from Miami and had lunch with me.  They then had to proceed to Castleberry to attend a funeral of one of Ed's former work colleagues.

Phyllis--I hope you are enjoying your company.

Gloria--There's plenty of the Egg McMuffins so have all you want.:)  It is VERY humid here again today--hard on people like me who have breathing problems.

angelface--Sorry you are depressed.  Hopefully it won't be too long before you can get a brand new computer.

Vanilla-Jackie--Guess you'd better have the towels ready to dry off "R" and the dogs.

Angel:  Your feeling a bit down is a natural turn in life at times to anyone - if that hits me, I like to write down all the "good and great" things to be thankful for and it really does help lift my spirits.  Hug to you.

Jane S:  The WWII test came up on my computer a couple of days ago - from where I cannot find.

Amy:  Hard to beat a sale like that but I MUST finish some of these projects - if only house**** and stuff would not interfere with my dream of having a cook and cleaner here - but then it would be hard to turn things over to someone else.

Radioman:  Kudos to you - that is so smart to get physically fit for your travel.

our church has another project and that is to fill 900 backpacks for children in this county who are under the average income - boy, it is expensive to buy supplies when you don't have the income.  So, I really like the idea of helping families right in the area - a local store gave everyone a discount on buying the school supplies so that helped too.

We looked at the moon last night and saw Mars quite easily.  Amazing - I am laughing at a woman politician who said that Neil Armstrong walked on Mars.  Need to tell her it was our moon.   :D

Vanilla-Jackie

Joan, they all got back just in the nick of time, just a little wet, nothing major....

Angelface, even minor annoyances can get one down if they all seem to happen together...You just have to remind yourself that for every bad day comes a good day, or vice versa....

Lindancer

Good afternoon, was raining when I got up, but now the sun is trying to come out.  Wed. will be 80 they say, this morning the heat even came on.
Joan, I enjoyed the one about the nurses, I guess I would be the 3rd. nurse, as I worked in admitting, and use to have to check your ins.

Amy, I use to love yard sales, Friday night I would check the paper, and lay out my route. Now I can not go and walk around, and I sure do not need anything to add to my house, I just need to get ride of stuff.

Lloyd please take care of yourself.  I know how you feel, when I am out and someone wants to help, I am always saying I can do it myself.

Phyllis, Loved that graphic, a place I could set and read.

Gloria, glad you see you finally got your AC in.Nice to have both sons together.

June, also nice to read your family, will be spending a few days to gether.

Yellow jacks I hate, but I never would hurt a bee, always glad to see them buzzing around my flowers, know they are working.
I have wrote this story before. My son had a miltary funeral on Eglan AFB in Fla., durning the flag folding a bee kept flying back and fourth in front of our family.  It was at Christmas time and Dennis had alredy bought my Christmas present.  I could not open it till I got home to NY, when I opened it, it was a Swarovski Crystal bee.

Beverly, we out at and outdoor resturant , and watched the moon it was beautiful.

Don, you are doing great on the tread machine.  I have a I have a stepper, I use to exercise my legs, but now I can only do about 2 min. not much but something.

Lindancer, your story about the bee gave me goosebumps...I am sure you cherish that bee!!

Lindancer ( Gloria ) that bee was an omen, meant always to be near you....

JoanFL

Carol--It's wonderful what your church is doing about the backpacks.  School supplies are mighty costly.

Vanilla-Jackie--A "little wet" never hurt anyone.:)

Linedancer--Glad you liked the chuckle about nurses.  I choose to believe that the bee that was buzzing at your son's funeral and the Swarovski bee were signs that your son would always be nearby watching over you.

Denver

A good Sunday HELLO from Illinois!  We have been having a wonderful time since arriving last Tuesday.  I have been unable to get into SS..... I am sure it is my own fault.  Anyway, today I have time on my hands and I was finally able to get in.

Unfortunately, I managed to hurt my left foot this morning....leaving me totally immobile. I was climbing up the stairs to get dressed for church....heard a SNAP in my arch, and now I can put no weight on it at all.  So unhappy with myself, but, not much I can do!  We had so many more things we still wanted to do.  Then, if that was not enough, our son was climbing a ladder and it collapsed leaving his leg caught between the rungs...ripped his shin wide open.  We are in great shape!

Tomorrow we have tickets to do the Architect Boat Tour in downtown Chicago.  I hope Kurt can go with Bob, but clearly I won't be able to make it.

I hope you all are doing well.  Take care,

I'm home safe and sound and the doggies are ecstatic!  They won't leave me out of their sight.  But I can see they've been well taken care of.  Casey's a good doggie-lover!

I'm really tired and I need to find something to eat for supper and get into my jammies.  Have a wonderful evening, feel better, get rested and whatever else you all need!
