Do you supposed we could convince the therapists that the very best therapy for Joan would be for her to come back to be in charge of the Soda Shoppe?   ::)

Beautiful picture and good suggestion, Jeanne Lee!

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I am back from church and feeling much, much better.  Had a good message this morning and doing the HARD right and not the EASY wrong.  From a little known book of the Old Testament, Haggai.  Wife did not attend, she is cooking a dinner for the family that is coming over tonight.

Got to get my clothes changed and want to glance through the Sunday paper to see how bad Trump is doing.

Amy, if you ever overcome the problem of not being able to vacuum up sunshine, put what you get in jars and save it for those dark, gloomy winter days.

Good Morning all, another beautiful day in Stanton, Ca. A high of 73 degrees.  I like that ! Sun is shining, and though I had a miserable night of broken sleep, I plan to go to Chapel services. I can loaf later.

Larry, I'm saddened to read you are still having chest pains. Should you alert your doctor about this, or is it to be expected ?

Jeanne Lee, I think it would be good therapy if Bis were allowed a certain amount of minutes each day for computer use. I know how much it helped me to have my lap top when I was in the Care facility for eight days. That was where I learned how to use the laptop, and most of my use was here in the S.S.

Jeanne, do you ever received any of the messages I send to you. I sent pictures recently, hoping you could post them, but I hear no replies at all. I have three different mail addresses for you.

Hal..Good News from you. I am thankful you are better.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

June, I'm so sorry!   I did receive those great photos you sent (that's the email address to use) but got quickly distracted by CatScan and doctor appointments, visit by son and grandson, and cable upgrading.  I'll get them ready and posted soon.

Meanwhile, [attachimg=1]

Jeanne Lee, I thank you my dear. I so appreciate your posting these for me. The first one is a resident here that is a good friend, second is with my beautiful daughter in love, and third with my son Gary. He is the Pastor in the family, and his church is in the little town of Westminster. Both my sons and Dori have their own sites on the computer. All you have to do is type in their names.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Visiting Grandma

Grandma, who appeared to become an ever-more intimidating personality as the years went on, was giving directions to her grown grandson who was coming to visit with his wife:

"You come to the front door of the apartment complex.  I am in apartment 14T.  There is a big panel at the door.  With your elbow push button 14T.  I will buzz you in.  Come inside, the elevator is on the right.  Get in, and with your elbow hit 14.  When you get out I am on the left.  With your elbow, hit my doorbell."

"Grandma, that sounds easy, but why am I hitting all these buttons with my elbow?" the grandson asked.

"You're coming empty handed ...  ?"

So happy to see Joan's post all-by-her-own-self.  :hello:, Joan!

Gloria,  yes, I've read Fern Michaels "Sisterhood" books....and quite a few of her others. Didn't make a list, though.

Wonderful photos, June.   Happy folks!

JeanneLee,    ;D  at the Grandma story.

Don,  I've really enjoyed seeing the pictures of your visit in Israel.  Can't believe it's time for you to leave.  Is there a time limit before visitors to the country can return  (generally speaking - not you personally)?

Hal, glad to see you're better.  We, too, had a good church service - the last one for our young woman associate pastor before she/husband retire to another state.  She will really be missed.

Larry, so sorry you're experiencing chest discomfort.  I continue to be amazed at how much you do for Pat and for others.   You are truly a blessing.

It's a beautiful spring day in central Oklahoma.    Apparently, that's also true in NYC.

Miss Ellen posted a short video on Facebook titled swinging in Central Park  #letting my inner child out :smitten: Don't know how she was holding the camera but as the swing went back and forth,  the landmark known as "the castle" could be seen in the distance over her feet and families/children were around the area.
I'm so happy that she's enjoying the simpler things.

Sugar syrup is cooling in the fridge so the hummingbird feeder can be refilled.   The pot garden has really perked up since all the rain.

Jeanne Lee, funny story.

Callie, thanks for the birthday greetings.  I have to tell you it was a bittersweet day because my youngest nephew, Terry, is near death.  I don't expect him to last the week, if that long.  He hasn't been well for many years, but after the birth of his grandson in CA, first his wife, Jan, flew out, then Terry the next week.  In a couple of days he was in the hospital with pneumonia and low blood pressure.  He stayed there a few days, then had to fly back to Grand Rapids and he has gone downhill ever since.  We had my "party" at their house because of Terry and people kept coming and going.  It was a birthday gathering to my liking because there were no gifts except a bouquet of roses and lilies.

Happy Birthday, Mary Ann...... and I am so sorry to read that Terry is ill.  I feel like I know those "boys" after so many years of Norm talking about them (I guess about 20 years).  I hope he will get better, my thoughts & prayers with him & the family.  No question this is a birthday you will always remember, a special hug for you tonight.   :hb3: :hb2: :hugs:

Love the photos of you with your "kids" and good friend, June.  You have not changed one bit in all the years we've known each other.  Always a beautiful smile that reeks of JOY~  Thank you, Jeanne Lee, for posting them.  Perfect Grandma story!

Larry, I do worry about you, I think you do a lot more than you realize.  Maybe you need several days to just "veg out", to give your body/heart a chance to slow down.

So good to see a post from you, Joan.... and I think we all need to get in here & post at least every day or so without you or Jeanne Lee spending so much time & energy keeping us shaped up.  I know I'm bad... come & read, think a comment to each post but don't post it.  No pressure on either of you, just talk to us when you can!!

Callie, I clicked all over your post in hopes of a link to Ellen's video.... duh, realized I don't do Facebook so out of bounds for me. My gr-daughter was showing me a video of her 3-5 month old cooing....on her phone.  I asked her father to put it on uTube & send me the link so I can post, but he says she doesn't have that account... it was my gr-son that posted the one of his daughter doing the organizing.

"HI" to everyone, do hope you can hear me thinking & talking to you when I read your posts.  I really am distracted this week with the plans, messages & phone calls for our class mate that is dying.  I am amazed that he has not said one negative thing about the diagnosis 6 months ago, only that he passed the milestone.  No "why me" or even hinting for pity, just keeps thanking everyone for the cards & visits.  He loves to talk about the old days, times were hard, he worked before he was a teen, first sweeping out a drug store & later when a teen, served the public as a soda jerk & any other job.  His father was ill & died when we were early teens, so he helped support his mother & sister.

In a way I think all of us are sorry we didn't have this opportunity to tell the other classmates that are gone, how much we cared.  Because of being children of WWII (we were about 9-10 when the war was over), we did cling to each other more.  Seven elementary schools in my small town, merged into one high school.... 8th thru 12th grades.  Made for a lot of students in one building.  It was a wonderful life, right now I feel like I am re-living those years, they were yesterday, you are today and "tomorrow" is unknown.  I will keep you posted on this venture, a concerned that "severe storms" are being predicted for the day I will be on the road.... starting where I live & follow me east.  This is my world today.  Shirley

Mary Ann

Thank you, Amy, June and Shirley.  Shirley, Terry will not get well.  He has not been well for maybe 20 years after shock treatment that did not work.  I would not be surprised to hear tomorrow or Tuesday that he was gone.

Time for bed.

Mary Ann

Denver

I wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARYANN.  I am sorry to read that Terry is not well.  I know it must be hard to allow yourself to enjoy YOUR day with Terry doing so poorly.  Hugs to you.

Loved seeing the pictures that Jeanne Lee posted for you, JUNE. You look wonderful and it is good to see your friend as well as Dori and Gary.

DON, I know you are enjoying the last bit of your time with BUBBLE.  I am sorry for you both that the time to part is drawing near.  Hugs to you both.

LARRY, I do hope you are feeling much better now.

It was a perfect day here in Austin.  Our family will return tomorrow afternoon.  It will be good to have them back.  They say they have had a wonder time and are so thankful that we could be here with their doggie.

Pleasant dreams to all.

Good morning everyone..

Joan ,so good to see you here.Hope each day finds you feeling stronger and stronger.

Loved the photos of June, family and friend. No flash would be needed as Junes bright smile would light up the room.

Nothing planned for today and of course those days usually end up to be a busy day...we shall see.

Larry, Shirley is right, and I do think your Dr should know just how you have been feeling. Don't leave it too late.

Good morning Lloyd.

Enjoy your day everyone.

A very Good Morning to you JOAN.  Great to see you on line.

JaneS

Good morning Everyfriend...especially you, Joanie!  It's so good to see you post whenever you can.

I'm a bit distraught this morning.  I just dropped Annie at the vet for dental surgery and anything that involves anesthesia in a dog her age is risky.  I'll be a mess all morning until they call me around noon to say "All's Well"

If you've ever had to keep food from one doggie who is having surgery and make sure another one gets food at regular intervals because of a touch stomach, you have some idea of the quandry I've been in since 8 last night.  And getting Annie out of the house and leaving Mickie in is another puzzle.  But it's all done now and I just have to wait for news.

Happy Birthday, Mary Ann.  I'm sorry it's not happier and I wish Terry peace and the same for all of your family.

Now, I'm going to finish my coffee and take Mickie for a walk all by herself with just her "mommy".

this day is surely going to be a great one. bis is well enough to sign in and visit with us, the sun is shining bright here. God is good to us All.

Mary Ann

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes and also the kind words about Terry.  I have not heard anything yet, but the day is young.  I hope for everyone's sake that he goes fast.

A friend from church died so Dot and I will be going to her funeral Wednesday.  The friend was 94 and more expected to go because of her age.  Terry is only 58.

Tim's daughter pointed out that her dad (my oldest nephew) died at 58.  At least Tom is nearly 60 so he won't go at 58.  I remember when a cousin and a couple friends of mine died at 67 and I could hardly wait until I got to 68 so I would bypass that milestone.  Funny the things that stick in one's mind.

Joan, it is so good to see posts from you.  Keep on keeping on.

Mary Ann

Joy

Good morning, everyone and especially to you,  Joan.   So good to see your message first thing this morning.  I know it gives us all such a "warm" feeling to  see that you must be feeling better.  We all look forward to having you back with us ASAP.

It is a very dreary morning,  with a lot of rain predicted for most of today and tomorrow.  But, as the saying goes......"April showers bring May flowers. And, May will arrive this time next week along with the flowers and warmer weather.

Hope everyone will have a special day.
