HI EVERYONE  lovely to see  you all here.  Not sure if I should ask my question here but I am struggling with my Windows 7 and its jumping    cursor.   The cursor is making typing so tiresome as it keeps  moving back to insert itself in previous words.  Any idea on how to stablize it?

angelface555

I found that happening sometimes when I was accidentally over my laptop touchpad while typing.

Mary Ann

Maryde, I have that trouble too and never had it until Windows 10 was installed.  I have found that using the Notepad (or Notebook) works fine, then I copy what I typed and put it in Reply.

I hope that helps you.

Mary Ann

jane

There is a free program that will keep the touchpad from jerking the cursor around.  Let me go see if I can find it.

Edit:  http://touchfreeze.net

maryz

Thanks, jane!  I'd been unable to disable the touchpad completely through my laptop's settings.  Hope this works.

Try making the font a bit smaller.

Weather Widget ---

In the example at the end, do the following.
1 - Replace all the State and City names below ( NY & Yonkers )with yours. Use abrev's or full as they are.
2 - Highlight and Copy the whole thing, including the Brackets ( [ & ] ).
3 - At the top of the S & F page click on "Profile" < "Forum Profile".
4 - Scroll down to the "signature" box and paste it in the box to the right.
5 - Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Change Profile" (bottom right)
6 - DONE.

Example:   Remove the space after the two left brackets

Just posting to get the reminders.

I did, however find this on the web (isn't everything on the web?)  With computers we may be guilty of confusing the two.

Curser is one who expresses a wish that misfortune, evil, doom, etc., befall a person, group, etc.

Cursor is Computers: a movable, sometimes blinking, symbol that indicates the position where the next character entered from the keyboard will appear, or where user action is needed, as in the correction of an erroneous character already displayed.

angelface555  Hi there.  I noticed it seemed to have some type of problem with the touchpad.  Never use a mouse these days...

Mary Ann  good to find you here.  I didn't install Win 10 for fear of getting more problems.  You are sensible using Notepad, I must go back to wordpad, that works!

Jane  thanks for that, I will download it now, like maryz.

These computers will always have us guessing or struggling!
I suppose it keeps the mind young

jackwv

Good to see this discussion again.

so_P_bubble

Slowly-slowly we are getting back to normal.
Keep your fingers crossed!

jackwv

Bubble I agree with you, but doubt I will ever be "Normal" again, (think at one time I was)

so_P_bubble

Oh? Jack, in what ways are you not normal? you seemed sane enough to me up to now... **thinking** (we used to have an emoticon for that?)

Well, back in again.  I see I am a Newbie..I see my sweet smiling face has vanished.
Bubble.  You are looking younger.  I now have to figure how to put a Avatar on again.  Sure don't remember. Also remind me how I put a shortcut on my desktop.  Can't drag in down

My screen seems all out of shape. All to the left side of screen blank.

Few more people still have to show up.

Thanks for the tip, Rammel.  That white column/margin on the left was bothering me too.

Jeanne Lee

That column on the left is where we used to have, and I'm sure will have again, things like random photos from our gallery albums, links to various topics - and I don't remember what else.   ;)
