Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Bubble, it's interesting to see how others do the same graphic and where others have issues or not with certain frames. I have so many that normally would be fine on their own, that I've had to place in Filters Unlimited 2, using it's import button.

The company says it will hold 3000 individual filters, so we shall see! Some do not work at all but are said to sometimes, as with the AAA filters, to work in FM Patcher. I've downloaded, but not used as yet. The AAA series work fine on being redownloaded. I'm told it's W10 at fault, PSP12U is not even supposed to be viable with W10 but here I am.

I'm glad you changed the yellow in Fool Around Frame to green, much easier on the eyes. Jagged Frame is nice work with soothing colors and spring flowers!

Only four more lessons to go and I and I'm sure Phyllis, will be raring to go on the next group of 25 lessons from Wini!

Marilyn

The Wedding image was for a challenge  in my stationey group. Everyone had to create a wedding image.

Angel you lessons are looking great, I do like all of them. Very subtle and quite lovely. Your talent is wonderful

Bubble you never cease to amaze me with your images and your talent.

Phyllis you are getting back in the groove quickly and you are giving great advice to Angel.

angelface555

Thank you, Marilyn, for those kind words!

Well, I survived! I am approved up to lesson 22 and Tomorrow I send in my last three, ending the first group and on to the second!

And number 25.

Actually, if you would rather not follow my progress quite so closely, just let me know. As I promise my feelings won't be hurt......Maybe! No, not really, honest!

so_P_bubble

I enjoyed much the #23.  Angel, I think the discipline of following a tut is good for you.
It helps absorb "composition" balance.
So you are graduating from the first group. Super!

Angel, very nice.  You are really whizzing along.  How on earth did you make that grid effect work in Lesson 22?  I have tried over and over to get it to do something but never could.  Finally I found an "almost like" effect in VM Toolbox and used that.

I have finished the lessons through 24 but have not sent them yet.  Still doing housework. I'm so slow these days so it takes me a long time.

Good morning! Phyllis, I do not know why it works and not for you. I have so many filters that only work within either Filters Unlimited or Redman's that in the past have always been perfect on their own such as Two Moon and Simple, Kang or Filter Factory among others. Why didn't Lesson #3 work for me? If I was superstitious, I'd think I'd need to sacrifice a goat, perhaps?

I'm anxiously awaiting approval on my last three lessons. I want to know what the next group will be like. I have more time on my hands than you or Bubble, so I can do as I please most days. There is always another day if things don't get done. Also, Farrah takes so much time soothing her fears and trying to make her life calm so she is able to focus on other things she enjoys.

Bubble, thanks for your comment re composition and lesson 23. I was surprised to learn that selections rather than masks played such a vital role in these tuts.

I liked "Ella Mae, but wasn't sure if it was a tut or someone you know?

ST GEORGE FRAME, had so much work involved that it looked a bit chaotic in my opinion. I would lose the clown with his wandering hand  and the frog/lizard/tadpole? and just leave the rabbits, perhaps to the right of center?

66-lecke, also had so much effort involved, but the neutral coloration made it calm and beautiful, my favorite of the three.

Look at me lecturing you on composition.... ;D  8)

angelface555

Lessons numbering twenty-three through twenty-five were just approved and my mod has sent me a link to the next twenty-five! YAY!  :coolsmiley:

Ella Mae is a card I made for a newborn in the family (little cousin grand daughter).  She looks so big for a newborn!

And yes, I use selections and personalized selections even more than masks.
I always forget that I have such a huge collection of masks but am also to lazy to go choose one.

All the lecke I do are from a Hungarian tut writer.

angelface555

Bubble, I really enjoyed your last graphic, 69 lecke.

Now for the bad news. My PSP12U is no longer working and I have reinstalled and attempted to repair twice. I am nowhere near my goal of having saved enough for a new computer. So I will be "off the air," so to speak temporarily. Evidently my graphics card and the mechanics of this 16-year-old PC are finally giving out.

The timing, of course, is atrocious!

However, the local Literacy Council has both desktops and laptops available for folks like me and next Wednesday I will be taking this old desktop and my hard drive messed up laptop in to trade for either a desktop or laptop that actually has W7 on them so should be back in business until I reach my goal for a new computer probably by summer's end.

phyllis

Angel, and you were going along so well.  I'm really sorry.  Maybe it will be a simpler fix than it looks like right now.  Good luck!

I sent Lessons 22, 23 and 24 in to the Group this morning but they never showed up on the Message Board.  I really, really dislike Yahoo mail.  I have issues with them all the time.  Wish we didn't have to deal with them but that is the way the Group is set up so that's the way I have to go along.  <sigh>

Phyllis, I use gmail for my groups. I know what you mean however as I sent in my last three at 4 am this morning, was approved by nine am my time and saw the notice of my lessons being sent in about a half hour ago!?!

I will be way, way behind next week. I will have to wait and see, talk to the computer guy at the Literacy Council as my best bet for a laptop or desktop. I was adamant about getting W7 however and he agreed for PSP.

so_P_bubble

Angel, oh what bad luck, but at least you finished beautifully with the first set of lessons.
I hope you find a replacement fast!

Bubble, I like Tulipanos very much.  Good composition and color choice.

Angel, I don't use Yahoo mail.  Have always used Mozilla Thunderbird and almost never have issues with it.  But the Winni Group is a Yahoo group and they use Yahoo mail and it seems to me that it messes up a very large number of times.

I had fun in Lesson 25.  I'm sending it to the Mod and the Group this morning and hopefully BJ will give me the next set so that after my company leaves next Tues. I can entertain myself with doing more lessons.

Thanks Phyllis.

Yahoo mail can be very slow at times, which is why I find Gmail more reliable, plus I can send with it very large/multiple attachments.

angelface555

Good Morning!

Phyllis, I use Gmail for the Wini Groups. I am now using a PSP Tube gmail folder for all my PSP items from Tubespack and tuts and some tube blogs I subscribe to. I am hoping to continue to stretch my using this computer until Tuesday night and return sometime Wednesday with either a new laptop or desktop. I spent a little over seven hours yesterday moving or copying folders and file info to either Dropbox,  One Drive or Amazon Cloud.

You can see it, graphic card, failing as every once in a while, the computer screen view breaks up into shards and then returns. Not too shabby as my father used to say, for a sixteen-year-old computer and all the abuse and changes made!

After Wednesday, I may download Thunderbird mail as I need a replacement for my Yahoo mail. I had in the past, used it for business mail. However, now that Yahoo is in receivership and Microsoft and Google are purchasing large bits and pieces, I'm hesitant and have stopped using Yahoo mail.

Bubble,  your Tulpin is perfect in itself! Tulips Flower is well done, even if I had to squint a bit through the blurry spots. Tulipanos, is perfect! I may ask for that tut after Wednesday!

Phyllis, I really like your #25, Nemo and Dory, it's perfect! You know I was really expecting an extra hard tut to end the group on and was surprised but enjoyed ending on an easier, to me, note.

I saw your lessons coming through email and thought your #24 was perfectly done! I really liked it.

phyllis

I was expecting a hard tut to finish the set, too, and was nicely surprised at how easy it was.  Remember the challenge we had to do at the end of each set of 25 lessons in the old SSTPSP?  I hated that.....I am much better at following someone else's tut than I am in writing my own.   :-[  Hope you can get your new computer and get back in business soon.  I think you will like Thunderbird.  It has always been my favorite though I use Gmail sometimes, too.  I used to love Outlook Express.  I wish they hadn't dropped it.  I tried Microsoft Outlook when I got this new laptop 3 years ago and didn't like it so went back to using Thunderbird.

Got the grocery shopping done for the expected company.  My younger (23) grandson will be coming with his Mom and Dad and he is 6'5", skinny as a bean pole, and eats everything in sight!  Well, his Dad does pretty well in that department, too.  I spent a fortune on food!   :o

Rest time is about over so must get back to some more house cleaning.  Not too much left to do, thank goodness!

Sorry I have not been here. This computer is driving me crazy. Maybe I should just download Windows 10 and get it over with. I was used to 7 home and this is 7 professional, so different.

BUBBLE that Dreaming was a mask, I liked the effect, too.

PATRICIA  I liked that side bordered frame with the mist I used. Really an easy tut. Well I picked B. I always like simple. When there is too much inside a frame it turns me off. Like the ship silhouette against the moon.

PHYLLIS  I try installing all plugins into Filters unlimited first.  I have simple there.

PATRICIA  when I was going through the steps lessons there was on that threw me no matter what I did. My Mod did it and sent it to me and while she didn't actually come out and say it hinted for me to use it.  She was great through the first 4 steps. Love your Winter blend.

BUBBLE  like your Spring.

PATRICIA  is 10 does not like 12U I better stay away fro 10 then because I use 12u, too.
