The Bride and Groom (or should I say "Husband and Wife") made it to Australia!  So far, they love it!  Gotta go take Cooper for another walk.  He just told me he's ready!

Good morning from the Interior at 9:11 and plus 33. All morning chores and meet and greets finished for the day and only some business double-checks left to do per winding down February.

I've decided to wait until March for any errands, for once, there is nothing needed or to be planned for. The snow outside is collapsing in on itself, and the parking lots' stored winter snow piles are being collected and hauled away.

I have to say that the only sad-looking Dalmatian I ever saw was at Alaskaland, a local theme park celebrating our gold rush camp beginnings. The dog was half Dalmatian and half Rottweiler. He had the thick body of a Rottie and the white spotted Dalmatian coat. He had a small crowd around him and the owner said he was goofy at home but a great guard dog. He had been well-trained and was sitting quietly amidst all the attention.

Amy, have a good trip there and back and good results for Kyle's appointments.

I wouldn't mind being dropped off for a spa day. The last one was for the Bride and her attendants, two days before the wedding. We were lined up in a row, our feet in basins, our hands being buffed, and we had goop slathered on our faces. I remember we all ended up with matching manicures and pedicures.

Your dinner sounds wonderful! I'm a little hurt that I wasn't invited... :-\  :)

Jane, I envy you for having time with Cooper. The man two doors down from me has a little black poodle called Lovey. His wife is in a care home and the dog is noisy, a scene stealer, but charming.

I remember one fall I had Farrah in her nylon crate, in the lobby, waiting for a taxi to take me to the vet. Lovey came rushing over, barking, and Farrah took one look and promptly turned her back. Lovey stopped barking and went back to her owner, tail tucked.

JaneS

Well, I've had a busy day!  It started with breakfast and getting ready for Cooper's arrival and the bed stripped and laundry started.  And it kept on going with laundry, remaking the bed clean, dealing with Cooper's needs and wants and then a Dr. appt at 1:00p.ml in the middle of all of the rest of it.  I feel like I've been moving all day.

I did take about an hour off to sit and schmooze with Cooper before Frankie picked him up after work.  She's off tomorrow so I won't have him but he does have an appt to get his stitches out and if they tell her it's OK for him to have a bath, they'll be here sometime tomorrow afternoon for that.  She only has a shower in her apartment so he gets his baths here!

Now I'm going to finish up some stuff and hit the haystack!  I'm ready to throw in the towel and be done with this day!  We'll see what tomorrow brings.  Sleep well tonight and wake refreshed.  Do what suits you tomorrow and then come by for a visit with us!

Good morning..

Back to chilly weather, yesterday we hit a high of 50°!  Kyle and I both took off our jackets yesterday and we were more than comfortable. Everything went well, now we wait for results from the tests. It was a long day,we stopped at Red Lobster for lunch while waiting for Babe at her spa day. Food was good but oh my their prices are going through the roof!! Next we picked up Babe, the groomer did an excellent job!! I know she groomed another dog out of her! A light supper was all we needed then rest a bit then earlyy to bed!

Today, need to pay bills  and  what ever else needs done..

Jane and Patricia, thank you, we had a good day. Appointments were on time , no waiting  which is nice.

Patricia, always welcome there is  more than enough food to go round. I have yet to learn to cook/bake small.

Better get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!! It's a cloudy one here.  I'm ready to take my walk but I have to make a phone cal as soon as it rolls over to 8 a.m. and she has time to get to her desk!

No Cooper today unless he comes for a bath.  We shall see!  I have some house stuff to finish up...or maybe not!

I wish you all a good day!  Please share whatever happens with us!  It's a cloudy one here!

Good morning from a less warm Interior at 13 degrees and eight fourty-three am.

Nothing new here, dailies done and everyone washed and fed, so onto the computer to see what the day brings.

Amy, now that the trip's finished and Babe left the extra dog behind, I hope our dinner will be a good one. If you noticed, I've left you a few ideas.

Jane, good morning, I hope your day goes well and to Rick and everyone else checking in, I hope your day, to borrow Lloyd's phasing, is just how you like it.

JaneS

Well, Hello to AMY and PATRICIA!  Not much traffic in here today!  I hope everyone is having such a great day, they just plain didn't have time to share it with us!  I'm about ready to hit the haystack.  My eyes have entered the "bonk shut" stage and sometimes I can't see where I'm going and I have to stop and force them open!

Cooper will be here tomorrow about 6:45 and he is ready for a walk as soon as he gets here.  And when we get back from our walk, he's ready to eat!  And after some lovin' up, he's ready to stretch out and take a nap.

Tomorrow afternoon, Cathy and I will be attending the local high school musical  It's "Mary Poppins" and that's one of my favorites.  But for this one, my favorite part is the Stage Crew Manager. It just happens to be my youngest granddaughter, Kiran!  She takes after me!  That's what I always did for the high school plays!  She didn't know it until her first time and now we have this in common!

My eyes just clunked shut so I guess it's good that I can type without looking but I also think I better give them a chance to close and stay that way for a while.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  Make the day your own in every way!  And PLEASE, stop by and share it with us!

Good evening.  I have been trying to get in here all week and finally I did it.  I have no idea what happened but I had no S & F information anywhere to seek out to find my way back.

Happy to read the posts and to see the beautiful picture of the bride and groom.  Jane they are a beautiful couple and I love that they went to Australia for their honeymoon.

We returned from San Francisco Sunday evening.  We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of our time there.  Our son and daughter-in-love took such good care of us.  I was quite comfortable all the time I was there.  Came home and started physical therapy again and now am back in pain.  It is necessary so I just have to deal with it.  Another week and a half of this neck brace and I can not wait.

PATRICIA, my Smokey was the very same way when we brought him home 7 years ago.  He has mellowed a lot and is a loving guy and is right with us every second UNTIL he hears someone at the door and the scaredy cat is gone until a second after the door closes and they are gone and back out he comes.  I am glad your friend is feeling better.....RSV is serious and seniors need to be inoculated, especially those with an already weakened immune system.

It is late so I need to hit the hay.

Good morning..

Another chilly morning here 0° at the moment. Beautiful moon light night last night. Laundry today and I can hang it out. May  get Chelsea buns done today..will see how the day goes.

Jenny, good to see you and you're home safe and sound. You can get through all that therapy and leave all the hurt behind.

Jane , enjoy your play!

Patricia, I am sure Babe feels a lot better too!

Rick ,any snow your way? Our crows are starting to come back and I love watching them from the kitchen window. They can be comical when seeing something new on the ground to eat......take a bite, hop in the air, take another bit then fly off with it.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

OK, I'm all finished with the morning chores and I have stuff for a casserole set up and ready to go later today.  Cooper had his walk and his breakfast and a some lovies from his GG.  I hope all's well with you!

JENNY, I'm sorry you had a hard time finding us but I'm glad you had such a nice visit with your family out west of you!  It's always fun when you get together with family.  I'll be leaving PA in March for a visit with my family in Oklahoma.  Unfortunately, that's where my only 3 great grandkids live.  It's so far away!  I wish they were right down the street! Also, I wish you well with your next treatments.  Let it do the job!

AMY, I hope RICK says 'no" to your question about the snow.  One way or another if I get it it moves on to him and if he gets it, it moves on to me!  I'm ready for SPRING!  I hope it hits OKLA while I'm there!

Now I'm off to see what else is clamoring for attention around here!  Have yourselves a great day!  And wander back in to let us know!

Jane, I agree!! I am also looking forward to Spring.
Laundry on line and bread rising.....next is into Chelsea buns and a loaf of bread...then I go play in the sewing room :)) Whoops......need to vacuum seal two bbq chickens too!!

Good morning, five degrees at 6:49 and I too am more than ready for Spring! Everyone has had their breakfast and wash, with morning chores, meet and greets finished and coffee's on.

Jenny, Farrah too, has mellowed and readily shows affection. She will be twelve in September. She is part of that ten percent who doesn't care for catnip, and she doesn't like seafood. Not only that, but she has never played with toys, no matter how I've tempted her.

The only birds seen right now are the ravens who come down from the mountains to spend the winter in the valley. In Spring, they'll return to the cooler higher ranges.

Jane, our snow was late coming in January. Currently, it melts during the day, making a mess and freezes into ice at night.

JaneS

PATRICIA, please keep that kind of snow up there where you are.  We have had some that arrived in the form of slush and then froze overnight but not so far this winter.  Thank you very much!

I made a mistake on the musical. It's next Saturday...not today!  I wondered why there was nothing in paper about it yesterday or today.  Now I know!

Better get back on the job!  Cooper will be begging for his noon walk soon!  He seems to be able to tell time!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

Nope - No snow heading this way. Soon comes March, and with it less chance of snow.
Speaking of Crows (story)- When I was still working I would get to where I parked for the day. Between there and work was a lagrg church with a school and associated building, that formed a court yard. There were two tall trees in it, and as I walked by I could hear ONE crow start it.Then two, then four, then the whole crowd of them. I would guess a couple of hundred of them - all announcing that they were up for the day. Shortly after the original noise they would take to flight. They would all fly off probably looking for eats - and the parkways nearby.
They would come back there every night.

It's the WINDMILLS

          THIMK

patricia19

This snow doesn't melt and soak in as wet climate snow does. You sweep it off with a mitten or broom. I wouldn't want your snow, either. The issue is that we have more ice than snow and when it does snow, all that ice is hidden awaiting the unwary.

March is normally when we do get snow because of the increased daylight and humidity. But they're saying not this year. I guess we'll see.

Ravens spend the summer in cooler mountains and spend the winters in town. There are smaller birds, chickadees, redpoles, wrens and that sort, who band together for protection in the winter in huge flocks, then break up in the spring into single species flocks.

However, due to area bridge, highway widening and other area construction, plus building management deciding to cut down all the trees in the back, the birds have found other places to hang out.

Good morning..

Starting out a 2 ° and we are to see the sun for part of the day.

A day or rest here, going over to a friends this morning then home to....shh... sew? ;)

Rick, crows are so smart! When I throw/put food out for them I give a whistle then come back in the house.  They are here before I get to the kitchen window to watch them!  One crow will be the look out and caw for others to come enjoy the wood, not a greedy creature. I love watching them take a peck at something I have thrown out, then jump back ,then they will take another peck but now know it is safe to eat.

Patricia, I threw a huge chunk ofsuet out for the birds, raven came and he devoured it all! Beautiful big bird. My freinds used to call ravens Gronk .

Better get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm off to the showers to get myself ready for church.  Cathy is coming by to drop me of and then a friend will bring me home!

Cooper arrived, had a walk and his breakfast and some loves from his GG and now he's napping on the sofa!  When I get back from church, he'll be ready for another walk.  I'm going to have to get a couple of bananas so I can make dog cookies.  I'm almost out of treats for him and I want to take some cookies for Cindy's doggies when I head for OKla.

I wish you all a good day.  Make it your own in every way!  That means if you want to sew all day, do it!

Good morning from the Interior where it's sunny and seven degrees with temperatures expected to plummet.  Morning chores and meet and greets all finished, and I'm back on the commuter.

While the internet had no Thursday issues locally, yesterday afternoon we lost connections and after last checking at five, I went back to old-fashioned paperback reading.

Whatever issues, we were back on this morning and so am I.

We don't have any crows here, but Ravens can be a menace. You have to cover and tie down anything in your yard or truck, or they will get to it. Ravens are great at problem-solving. They have learned so much while watching humans and then teaching others in their group, such as ice fishing. Turn your back and a raven will jiggle your line and take off with your fish!

I have no idea who put this together,
But it is wonderful, especially if you're North of 70!

Long ago and far away, in a land that time forgot,
Before the days of Dylan , or the dawn of Camelot.
There lived a race of innocents, and they were you and me.
For Ike was in the White House in that land where we were born,
Where navels were for oranges, and Peyton Place was porn.
We longed for love and romance, and waited for our Prince,
Eddie Fisher married Liz, and no one's seen him since.
We danced to 'Little Darlin,' and sang to 'Stagger Lee'
And cried for Buddy Holly in the Land That Made Me, Me.
Only girls wore earrings then, and 3 was one too many,
And only boys wore flat-top cuts, except for Jean McKinney.
And only in our wildest dreams did we expect to see
A boy named George with Lipstick, in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We fell for Frankie Avalon, Annette was oh, so nice,
And when they made a movie, they never made it twice..
We didn't have a Star Trek Five, or Psycho Two and Three,
Or Rocky-Rambo Twenty in the Land That Made Me, Me.
Miss Kitty had a heart of gold, and Chester had a limp,
And Reagan was a Democrat whose co-star was a chimp.
We had a Mr. Wizard, but not a Mr. T,
And Oprah couldn't talk yet, in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We had our share of heroes, we never thought they'd go,
At least not Bobby Darin, or Marilyn Monroe.
For youth was still eternal, and life was yet to be,
And Elvis was forever in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We'd never seen the rock band that was Grateful to be Dead,
And Airplanes weren't named Jefferson , and Zeppelins were not Led.
And Beatles lived in gardens then, and Monkees lived in trees,
Madonna was Mary in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We'd never heard of microwaves, or telephones in cars,
And babies might be bottle-fed, but they were not grown in jars.
And pumping iron got wrinkles out, and 'gay' meant fancy-free,
And dorms were never co-Ed in the Land That Made Me, Me.
We hadn't seen enough of jets to talk about the lag,
And microchips were what was left at the bottom of the bag.
And hardware was a box of nails, and bytes came from a flea,
And rocket ships were fiction in the Land That Made Me, Me.
T-Birds came with portholes, and side shows came with freaks,
And bathing suits came big enough to cover both your cheeks.
And Coke came just in bottles, and skirts below the knee,
And Castro came to power near the Land That Made Me, Me.
We had no Crest with Fluoride, we had no Hill Street Blues,
We had no patterned pantyhose or Lipton herbal tea
Or prime-time ads for those dysfunctions in the Land That Made Me, Me.
There were no golden arches, no Perrier to chill,
And fish were not called Wanda, and cats were not called Bill
And middle-aged was 35 and old was forty-three,
And ancient were our parents in the Land That Made Me, Me.
But all things have a season, or so we've heard them say,
And now instead of Maybelline we swear by Retin-A.
They send us invitations to join AARP,
We've come a long way, baby, from the Land That Made Me, Me.
So now we face a brave new world in slightly larger jeans,
And wonder why they're using smaller print in magazines.
And we tell our children's children of the way it used to be,
Long ago and far away in the Land That Made Me, Me.

If you didn't grow up in the fiftys,
You missed the greatest time in history,
Hope you enjoyed this read as much as I did.

Reagan, with or without the chimp, was a Republican. I was part of...gasp... the baby boomers.

JaneS

BUBBLE, I LOVED IT!  I can identify with all of it.  I graduated from highschool  back in the 50s and I'm always threatening to throw my cell phone in the river!  I watch old Perry Mason shows on TV and when they need to make a phone call, they have to hunt a phone booth!

Frankie picked up Cooper a little bit ago and I had my "sitty-arounds" with him for about 45 minutes before she came.  It doesn't matter where he is or what he's doing.  When I go in and sit down on the couch, he's right there with me.  I always try to spent that last time with him and he's a cuddler!

Cathy brought over a GIANT suitcase for me to use when I go to Texas and then check through on the plane when we come home.  I know I won't have it full going down but I sure will coming home.  There's stuff down there that I can't buy at home and I always have a lot of stuff to bring home!

The weather high today was 46 but it only lasted about a hour and the overnight low was in the teens.  Tomorrow the high will be 55 and that makes me happy!  Most of the snow around here is melted but I live at the end of the street and when they plow, everything for a block and a half ends up just past my driveway.  There's still at least a foot and a half tall and two feet wide out there.  I try not to look at it and to enjoy the green grass around it!

I guess I better get busy before I decide this day is over!  Please continue to enjoy your day!

Bubble, I think life was a lot better back then. We didn't have electronics to play with we went out to play with the neighbourhood kids. If one misbehaved a Mom would scold you.....maybe not your Mom but your Mom would hear about it and scold you again!!!

Jane, my day is also coming to an end. I did get some sewing done an d some unsewing too! :(

Took some food out for crow, broke the buns up and threw them over on the yard, gave a whistle as I reached the door and crow called back to me from the pine tree in the yard. Made me wonder who has who trained?? I was told to only give dried bread to the crows........well....crow picks up a piece of bun....goes over to a water puddle and yup...dunks her in and then eats it!!!

The poem is correct. In the 50's, Reagan was still a Democrat; he switched to Republican in 1961.

Well, I managed to wreck my back again yesterday, so today I am staying home. I still have dishes I want to get, my paper shredder, my crates of photos and memorabilia and files, another box of books or three of books (that should be the last), and I really need to find where I stashed my mineral collection. I'm giving up almost all of my regular sized Christmas stuff and sticking with my mini tree and mini-sized ornaments; those I can put up somewhere where the cats won't destroy them. Also, I mean to keep Mom's white Christmas Creche and my sister's ceramic Christmas tree with lights, and whatever else I can stuff in my car.

Still no help to push the last of my stuff out. My contractor guys ended up not coming last week and my contractor hasn't called this last weekend like he said. Sue goes to see her surgeon today to see if she can lose the brace and what she can start doing again. I am thinking that if she still has some pain after helping move a few light boxes she will still be pretty restricted in what she can do.

Meanwhile, my youngest sister recently had an MRI for all the pain she is having, but I haven't heard the result yet. She is now unable to do a lot of things, so she has promoted herself to manager and is now supervising her recently retired husband.

Nine more days until I see the oral surgeon regarding the split, loose tooth I have been dealing with for more than two weeks. It will have to come out. My regular dentist is recommending evaluation for an implant. My insurance will not cover the oral surgeon. In fact, the dental group for Blue Cross seems to have problems with my regular dentists' claims for my regular dental x-rays which are supposed to be covered. I am not impressed.

I am keeping an eye on Shan again. He may be having trouble peeing again. I found a small spot outside his box which he was trying to cover, noticed his action the other day too, but couldn't find anything. I've rearranged the potty box closet, adding his Breeze system and another mat to cover the closet floor. Now I can see if there is any red in the urine. Fortunately, Oscar rarely uses the Breeze box.

JaneS

Good Morning to MG and Everyone who peeks in later!

MG you are certainly dealing with a lot.  I sure wish I could help you out but that's something I can't do anymore.  I wish you well and I hope everything gets done on time!

This will be a short one because I'm awaiting the arrival of Cooper and I'm not sure when that will be.  My daughter Cathy and her husband, took Frankie to drop off her car at the repair shop yesterday and they will give her a ride to work this morning and then drop off Cooper.  I'll be waiting but I suspect that they won't call to say they're on the way as Frankie always does.  So the door is unlocked for them.

I wish Everyfriend a good day!  Make it your own in every wa!  And PLEASE...share it with us!

Good morning..

Starting out at 27° and cloudy. Well I can tell "our" crows are here 6 am and they are holloring for their breakfast. No Drop Wing as of yet and I wonder if he will show up this year.

We have business to do in town plus take the garbage away. Then the day is mine to do as I wish or what ever needs to be done. I need a dessert so Phyllis's baked custard in the IP will fit the bill.

MG ,hope nothingh serious with Shan. We worry about or furkids when they are off kilter.

Jane, yes it would be nice to live closer as you know!!! I would help you cuddle ,snuggle and love Cooper..plus do some work :)

I would also have a place to send extra baking to or meals when I over do it to others!!

Callie and Phyllis hope all is well there..

Better get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Everything is going along OK, Amy.....but slow. I must find that custard recipe and make some.

Cute poem, Bubble, but after my time.  I grew up in the 40's so couldn't really identify with it.  If it spoke of Frank Sinatra, bobbysocks, food rationing, savings bonds, and saddle shoes....then I would be right in tune with it.

Doctor appointment this afternoon and for once it is a nice, sunny day.  Most unusual...it is usually rainy on my doctor days.   ::)
