Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Shirley.  Are you watching TV at the moment. Lawrance Welk show on doing the Swing Band time. Glen Miller Music right now. In The Mood. Before your time.
JeanneP

Shirley

Yep, Jeanne, watching Lawrence Welk right now.  My parents loved that show, wouldn't miss it & knew every person & their history.  I was born Jan. 1935.... teachers always called our class "depression babies".  I think growing up during WWII years we just accepted what ever was offered.... including music.

Early night tonight.... have not been getting a lot of sleep the last couple weeks, mainly just staying up too late playing solitaire on the computer after I get out of here!

Sachiko3

Very hot days continue in Japan.

The rose of Sharon in my garden bloomed so much.

Vanilla-Jackie

Sachiko, very pretty, and very healthy green....now is this an actual " rose? " If so, not you usual rose to look at....far less petals...

FlaJean

I had a very short message from Sato.  He said to tell all his friends in the forum that he is still in the hospital.  He had a second stroke.  I'm posting this also in the video forum.

I certainly do miss my friend Sato being here and showing us his lovely photos and videos.

Sachiko, that is a beautiful Rose of Sharon bush.  Many years ago when we lived in the state of Virginia, we had three Rose of Sharon bushes in a corner of the yard.  They have such beautiful blooms.

halkel

Sato, get well soon.  Hope there are no lingering problems.

jackwv

Sachiko, lovely flowers.

Jean thanks for the update and Sato  prayers for your recovery and your joining us again with your photos.

Vanilla-Jackie

Sato sending get well wishes from Jackie in UK...

Mary Ann

Sachiko, at the house where I grew up, we had a Rose of Sharon, the same color pink as your picture.  I loved it.

Sato, please get well soon; we miss you.  Thanks, Jean, for the message.

Jean, I saw your post in  the Soda Shoppe and hope that Sato feels and gets better! I miss his posts and videos!

Shirley

Sachiko, love your photos (they are beautiful) of the Rose of Sharon.... always one of my mother's favorites.  I have a neighbor that has a bush blooming right now and enjoy it as I drive past.  Hope you are feeling stronger every day.

Sorry about the news, Jean, but thank you for letting us know.  Prayers that Sato recovers completely and will join us with more gorgeous photos very soon.

Jackie, I always thought the Rose of Sharon blooms looked more like holly hocks than anything else, only a bush instead of a single stalk.

JeanneP

Sorry to hear the News on Sato. Was thinking he was out and home by now.
Seems so funny that people will get a Stroke when in a Hospital.  They seen watch you close. Still I have had 2 people I know where it happened to them in the hospital just this year. So Strange.  But better he did it there than at home.

Good morning! Fukuyama is very hot today from morning.

Vanila-Jackie, Jean, halkel, Jack, Mary Ann, angelface, Lindancer, Shirley, thank you very much for your comments!

Vanila-Jackie, the Japanese name of this flower is "Fuyou", but I do not know why it is called Rose. This flower does not resemble the rose. These flowers open in the morning, but wither away in the afternoon.

Jean, thank you very much about the news of Sato.

Sato was writing in my Line at my smartphone. But he did not write in it after July 2. I called his wife, because it passed till when as there was not a note. Still there was not his note in my Line, but there was a note "to be still my hospital." on August 7.

Sachiko3

A lily grew in my garden.

On August 7, there was a mantis to the lily.

In the afternoon, the mantis disappeared, and the lily bloomed so much.

Vanilla-Jackie

Clever Lily, it was waiting for the Mantis to go, before it opened itself to the public.... :)

Sachiko3

Vanila-Jackie, thank you, thank you very much for your appropriate impression!

Mary Ann

Sachiko, what a clever lily!  Pretty, too.

I liked Jackie's response.

Mary Ann

Sachiko, what a clever lily that was and you are quite a story teller! Thank you.

Mary Ann, angelface, thank you very much for your comments.

This lily is made dignified and blooms during the trees in my garden.

Beautiful photos of the lily, Sachiko, shows so well against the dark background.  The last shot has so many different lines and textures.... very interesting.

I enjoyed the links to your home town, Jeanne....  we have a little town north of Wichita that is basically Swedish background and has a lot of street dancing & holidays.  I've never gotten there to watch but get
a view of it on the local news.

Shirley, thank you very much for your comment.
The house of My husband was built approximately 160 years ago. Various flowers bloom in this garden in sequence throughout the year. And they have been planted from generation to generation. I have not yet grasped all.

Lindancer

Sachiko, very interesting about the age of the home and garden. Love the photo of the one lone lily.

Jack, I have to tell you someone stole my g.daughter's golden Sat. night.  She got this house about 8 months ago as it had a high enclosed fences back yard.  She lives in Tenn. As she lives alone alone so Charlie was her companion.  He was 10wks. old when she got him.

Gloria, that is really sad.  Hope the dog is chipped for identification and that she is able to get local help in locating.
