Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

I am sorry not to come for a long time.
My Japanese site reached the establishment 20th anniversary and spent time busily.
http://www.fuchu.or.jp/~sachiko3/ (Japanese site)

I was planting roses at my garden in Yokohama.
I'd like also to bring up roses at my garden in Fukuyama, and had my husband make me a flower bed for roses.

There was only a mini rose yet, and I planted pansies.

Sachiko, thank you, your garden still looks very green, and I bet you cant wait for your pansies to open, shouldnt be too long now....I had to smile over your one lonesome rose, I love roses, left ours behind, guess I could have uprooted some and brought them with us...What flowers will you plant behind your pansies? or maybe you will leave the centre empty as not easy to reach the centre, or is that where you have planted more mini roses?

jackwv

Sachiko, so good to see you post.   Looks like a great arrangement for the roses, and that is a good photo of you.

Shirley

How sweet of your husband to create the rose garden for you, Sachiko, and I understand planting the pansies in the meantime.  They are beautiful.... as are you! That is a neat border around the garden, what is it made of? Another flower that I enjoy where the pansies fit in (low and colorful) are nasturtiums.  My problem is that weeds and the Bermuda grass grows faster than flowers and I am not a good "weeder".  Right now I am doing battle with Bermuda grass that has invaded the berm and totally covered all the rocks and yucca plants that gave it character.  I don't like using chemicals because of the birds, cats and other wildlife.  Good for you "getting the job done" and hope you will show us again, when the flowers grow bigger.

angelface555

Sachiko, I really enjoy seeing your garden and photos of you and your life! Thank you!

JeanneP

Sachiko.  That flower garden will look beautiful once you get you roses planted. Pansies so nice for now. Be easy for you to take care of.  Your own little area.
You are looking so much better now.  Keep it up. I also love long skirts and you have such pretty ones. I just have 2 wool ones for the Winter but lots for summer.

Still not much color, but frost the last few evenings so may see some change.   Three taken today.   The first shows some color, the yellow marker lower left was to keep people out of the firework area, they are now taking down.  The second photo are a few Turkey Buzzards hovering above and the third does not show the fall color, but a pretty scene.

Shirley

Beautiful photos, Jack, I see so many of the turkey buzzards in central MO when I camp at the Lake, but am seeing them around here now.  They look so graceful in the sky and so ugly up close.  Love the shot of the water reflecting everything above..... like glass.  We rarely see water so still.  Are those "cattails" at the far end?  I had some behind the house in the river bed for a while and they disappeared as sudden as the came.  A much older lady friend commented one time that "you must cut & bring in the cattails before the 4th of July or they will explode when they dry".  We used to see them in drainage ditches all around town but don't think I've seen any for years.  Our trees aren't quite that far along.  Thanks....

Good morning!

Vanilla-Jackie, Jack, Shirley, Angelface, JeanneP,
Thank you very much for your comments. I am very glad of your kind comments.
But I'm sorry I cannot write thanks immediately!

This is a photo in my garden in Yokohama 40 years ago. I planted so many roses, but, unfortunately, do not take the photo only for roses.

Sachiko3

Jack, your photos are beautiful!
Autumn colors begin soon in Fukuyama.

jackwv

Shirley thanks, I believe that would be cattails, just in that part of the little lake the last few years.  Agree with you on the Turkey Vultures, so graceful but so ugly up close.

Sachiko thanks, and that is a great photo of you from years back.  Hope we are all seeing more color this fall.

angelface555

Shirley, you reminded me that although I have seen cattails and pussy willows here in the past, but no sightings of either one recently.

Jack, those are some nice pictures! We have Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, numerous hawks and owls that can get quite large, but I have never seen any type of buzzard other than the movies or photos. They must be a southern bird.

Sachiko, lovely roses and such a lovely photo of you!

Sachiko3

Jack, angelface, thank you very much!

There is a vine rose called Princess Margaret in my garden, but I did not transplant this because this too grew up too much.

JeanneP

Jack. I was out driving today and our leaf colours are about like yours. None falling yet. Going to be in the 80 over the weekend and after that much colder. Then we will see big changes.
Think I am ready for winter. Got the insulation done. company out today and took care of checking, cleans all the heating system and Thermostats, Ceiling fire alarms. Just found one thing to replace . Says that the Auto Pilot could maybe last for the winter but could go so went ahead and put new in. Maybe change a few curtains to heavy drapes and that will be it. Hope we all have a mild winter.
JeanneP

JeanneP

Sachiko. I always like the Princess Margaret Rose. Never could get near to them though.  Beautiful photo of You. No big change in 40 years. Same weight. I managed to stay so slim until about 60 but put a little on since then.  Now I can see that I was way to thin back then.  97 lbs. Happy with it now. Feel good.
JeanneP

Sachiko3

JeanneP, thank you very much for your comment.
Because of heart failure, as for me, the weight has less now than 40 years ago.
And, it seems to have to no longer gain my weight for my heart.

Sachiko.  Sounds like you have good doctors taking care of you. I am sure you eat the right foods that will not have you gain any weight.  I try and after putting a few pounds on 20 years ago it goes no higher but also does not go down other that maybe a couple of pounds. But as I feel well I am happy with it.  Size of clothing never seems to change.
This photo here was just 4 months ago. Don't know why they gray that is now on my hair doesn't show. It is about like yours and yours shows up a little. mine  is there.... And soon this next week I am picking up a pair of new glasses that may try to wear all the time and not for just reading.
My Doctor wants me to try them out.
I told him.  Men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses. But he says let just see.

Have enjoyed the photos here so much.  Today we went out to lunch at a small local restaurant here in Niceville.  Such a beautiful day so we ate outside and enjoyed the view.

Sato, I've been worried about you and so good to hear some news from you.

Sachiko3

JeanneP, I surely have a good doctor. And I'm glad that I recovered until I can take  photos now. I will upload rare photos here from now on.

Sachiko3

Jean, the view is nice and is a splendid photo!

jackwv

Jean a wonderful view, love that name Niceville.

Sachiko - I know you will enjoy your rose garden. You are looking well and I enjoyed seeing the photo of you from 40 years ago.

Jack - Nice photos....I especially like the one of the lake. We have the turkey buzzards here also.

Jean - Lovely spot for lunch! I also like the name Niceville.  :)

Sachiko's photo taken 40 years ago has prompted me to post one of myself. I found this from 37 years ago. I think it would be fun if we all posted an old photo of "the way we were".

(Apologies to my hubby who is cropped out of this photo!  ;))

angelface555

Jean, no wonder your area is called Niceville! I'm quite envious!

Beverly, what a nice photo!

I have photos of me as a child, sixty to sixty-five years ago and photos of me within the last fifteen years but nothing else on this computer or on hand. Sorry.

Beverly, from a different folder, I see you have something red in the picture.  Ha!

You're just as pretty today as you were 37 years ago.

Following a discussion on how slim most of you were,  and older photos, I pulled this one up.   This was 1952 at Ft. Bliss Texas.   Long time ago, 64 years ( that is also about the extra pounds I put on since then :)).  Not posting a current photo, too many pixels.  :-[ Nice thing with my present weight, very few wrinkles.

Sandy

Here I am at 34, on vacation,
shortly after my last child Erin was
born.    You can see the top of her
head in the portable crib...

Ah, for the good ole days!!!

Wonderful photos!

Beverly, what a nice photo!

Jack, what handsome!

Sandy, I could see the top of Edin’s head in the portable crib.

Then I will also post my photo 57 years ago.
This was the year when I graduated from my university, and I sewed this dress.
My department was Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
My face is perfectly round. But my waist is thin.
