Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Petunia has been blooming since last April.  Didn't know they would keep blooming such a long time

angelface555

It must be nice, Jean to have fruit trees and year around flowers!

jackwv

Jean would love having petunias, year round.  Believe that is also a poinsettia, and looks great.

I always love a Teddy Bear. Did not like dolls.  Bubble That is a cute one.  Does it sleep with you?
If Don has a month you wll still get a lot done.  Do you think you will ever travel to Canada again?  Don really likes Israel so he won't be away long.
Now can he only make one Visit a year now?   I notice that the US is using that rule now for a person to stay for 3 months at a time.

Teddy Bear might sleep with me once Don is back home... :)
No, I do not think I can manage such a strenuous trip again, even with my caregiver.
Yes there is such a rule for Canadians as well, such a hindrance to dreams, alas.

Did he get a lick of your lollypop, Bubble?   We are all enjoying your antics, thanks for sharing the good times.   Love your teddy bear.

Patricia, I do know exactly how you feel!  Between the first flu starting Jan.19 & all through Feb when allergy season kicked in, my poor nose has taken a beating.  It gets a work out with a Kleenex about every 5 min all day long.  Good luck with yours, you are looking good.  Farrah looks a lot like my Tiger in those photos.  I think Tiger would like to be an only child cat, she convinces Tom, Lauren & Callie to go outside and then she sneaks around to the bedroom door and wants to come in.  She is smart~

Darling expression on Honeybear's face, Jack!  I am also working hard to find loving homes for my stuff.  Right now I'm working on the things that none of my kids want, that I bought over the years but don't have "history" with my ancestors.  I have so much stuff that I want to make sure my great grands end up with, their parents are the "throw away generation" so I am hoping my kids will save things in their houses that their grands will remember and treasure.  My gr-mother was born in 1871 and I have her McGuffy plus other grade school books.  I have been telling my kids that "if they don't want to save any of these things for their grandchildren, I want them to go back to the county in MO where they came from, for their museum.

Hard to imagine petunias blooming already, Jean.  They are beautiful.  So many varieties now but my favorites are still the old purple or white ones.  Do you have trouble with bugs eating them?  My last ones would have holes in them before I could get back in the house after spraying.  I only used Dawn in a spray bottle, the birds take the worms to their babies so I don't want to harm the birds.  Didn't have any flowers last year, losing battle.

Shirley, yes he did!!!  How did you guess?

Jack, what is the age of your Honey Bear  ? He is a cutie for sure. My dear DIL collects bears, she has had hundreds of them but has cut back somewhat. Some are quite valuable, as she studied what she purchased. I have a bowl of tiny ones she has given me. I had to get rid of the large ones I had…this Apt. has no space, alas.

Sandy, I can picture the two of them, Fe and Cliffy growing up together. A bond is forming as they sleep, for sure. I just LOVE it.

Such a sweet picture, Sandy.

June that bear is probably 50 years old.  Was sold by Cranky Yankee.   Did a google image and one link the other day had one for sale in euros, but here is an Ebay with a used one (hard to imagine there are still new ones)

Age and condition is what makes the bears more valuable. I'm glad your daughter will want to have it, to me that makes it of great value..keeping it in the family.

Asia countries have put out by the thousands so many of the copies of the things we bought 60,70 years ago. Look so alike. But if you have a old one in perfect shape, not played with then still a few Collecters.  Lots of times the material not the same. I still have the Black and the Talking GI JOe Dolls made in 1967 and the bodies are not the plastic ones out there today.  Daughter still kept their 1956 Barbi dolls with with a trunk of clothing I had make for them. Put in my Mother in Laws storage room but we found out that in about the 1980s she had a yard sale and sold every thing for about 12 dollars.  Sold all the stuff I had meant to store until the girls had children.  They were pretty mad but a little to late.

Holding on to this home, Shirley had purchased for her granddaughter, and I put it together.    Holding and hope one day she will take it.  Like to think it is Shirley sitting in front of the home.

Before he Passed my Husband built 8 different Doll houses. Furnished beautiful. First 2 to daughers then one for the granddaughter. 3 great granddaughter have come along.  So far only my daughters have been  left with them. The young ones like them but don't think they have the room , also when they visit they say not enought room in car to take them 850 miles. Now all the great grands are getting to old to want them.  Children dont play with things anymore. To busy on phones or Tablets. They all are never withing their IPad in their hands. My Texas daughter has 3 grandgirls and a great collection of Dolls. They never even look at them.

Sandy

Jeanne.....   Too bad about the doll houses.    I bet that there some children near you that would love to have them ....

Just a thought.

Beni made a lovely doll house.  No grands at the time, so he had it out when friends with small children came on visit so they could play with it.  Soon these kids were pushing their parents to come and visit, so they would have an occasion to enjoy that  doll house again. It was much in use for several years.

Now I donated it to a cousin who adopted a 6y old girl with special needs. It appears that it helped the girl to adapt in her new environment.

Bubble's grandson Aviv had his 5th birthday recently, so we had a couple of celebrations: one at home and the next day at the playground with all of his friends. He actually believes I am his grandfather and tells everyone accordingly. I am 'sabba."
