Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

JACK WV...
......again, love this photo of Zoe and Jessie, the same smile I would get from my darling Benji...he was always so so happy whenever he saw me...

Shirley

Jack, so nice to see Jessie & Zoe again!  (Zoe closest to the camera, right?)  Your girls all looked a lot alike but
so completely different.  I loved every photo of them but you know Zoe made me grin from ear to ear with her teasing you.

Mary, Missy is a beauty, bet a DNA would show she has some Chow in her, you think?  My first thought when her photo showed up. (Thank you, Jackie).  How old was she when you got her?  Sorry you have been sick, hope all is well now?  She sure has tiny feet, would love to see more photos of her.

jackwv

Shirley, yep Zoe on the right.  Bet the two of them are smiling at Mimi.  I had commented very little shedding, but now throwing her coat and had a session combing her out.  Prior to my finishing she jumped off the table and galloped around the yard like a nut.  I tried to get video but she quit, guess she did not feel like performing.

MaryTX

Thanks again Jackie for posting Missy's (aka "Princess") picture.  She thinks she is one and has even got Duck our 11 year old black lab bowing down to her :)  and everyone's comments.  Jack, I loved to see the pics of Josie and Zoe again.

Chow and Samoyed have never been mentioned but after pulling up pictures of each of them, I can see a resemblance.  With the exception of one German shepherd years ago, all of our dogs have been "Heinz 57" breeds!   And they are the best kind!

Missy is 7 now.  She was picked up at a year old by animal control in Plano which is a high kill shelter.  Someone there called Gayle at the rescue group and she she picked her up.  All the animal controls in the area up there call Gayle whenever they have a dog to put down. The next day Missy delivered four puppies!  Missy adopted us, we didn't adopt her!  We met Gayle at a Tractor Supply where she was setting up an adoption booth for some of her dogs.  She let Missy out of her crate and she immediately jumped up into Cathie's lap.

I hope I'm on the mend!  I can deal with my chronic problems but these out of the ordinary things are the pits!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Mary

Yesterday we all went to a popular meat eatery - my friend  Lolita treat for Don.
Here are some photos.

This was definitely not a high-class joint: it was more like a trucker/biker gathering place, but my memories of my last visit there were enough to make me want to go back one more time.
The ritual is this: you go to the long counter where bite-size pieces of meat or chicken or chicken livers or hearts are on display. You make your choice and your selection is skewered and then you carry  it across the room to where the charcoal pit is and wait for the food to cook. When done they call your name, you get the food and dig in. Nothing fancy but a feast for the gods.

DON...
...well you know what they say..." you have to try everything once... ;) well you went back for seconds... :)

Today we went to Hadera for a fish dinner at a place called Beni The Fisherman. These pictures were taken from our table.

We ordered St.Peter's Fish which is really talapia, but has attained that saintly appellation because legend has it that when Jesus and his buddies went fishing on the Gallilee, Peter was the one who caught the big one.

Don and Bubble, I prefer the view for the fish, but looks like my kind of food at the eatery.

MaryTX, I agree Missy is a Princess and she rescued you.  What a fortunate meeting.

Disecting this creature while on your plate is like a surgical procedure. Mine looked like it was done with a hammer and chisel. This Illy performing her magic

Don and Bubble.  All that food looks so good. Wonder what your Calorie count was that day.  But you will be able to do the counting once you come home.
I do the same when I go to UK.  Eat everything in sight.  How I miss it when I come back.  You just enjoy the time you have left.  Have a safe trip back home.  Talk about the plans you have to return....
I thought only us Brits served Fish and Chips on new papers. I turned the screen around but could not read the paper

I love fish but prefer my fish filleted. 😀 But everything looked inviting.  Sure have enjoyed all the photos.

angelface555

Thank you for all of these different photos!

Shirley

I sure have enjoyed the photos, Don & Bubble.  Sorry the time is running out but you two need a rest!  What fun you've had this whole time and thanks so much for sharing it with us.  I was telling my kids the other day about your photos and how different they are compared with what we see on TV or read about.  At least you will be coming home to warmer weather than when you left, Don.  Safe trip home.

We were going to go out to mark our last day together but decided to stay home and spend that quality time right here. I speak for Bubble and me when I say how much we appreciate your comments and feedback to our postings; it made them so much more fun to do. These are the last pictures from Israel taken a few hours ago we're doing our best to give you our best smiles.

Leaving good friend is as bad as leaving family. Not as bad as loosing them because you know that one day you will be returning to see them again.  I don't thing for long before you will be doing that Don.  Its been a very busy visit. You have the memories that will help.  We are lucky now. Can see photo daily on computers. Talk for much longer on phone and can also see them and talk same time.  How I remember when it use to cost so much to call on the phone to UK.  Only could write Letters.
You have a safe trip back and both of you stay well. When healthy you can keep planning.

It was a balmy week end yesterday and I went down to the sea shore - without my dear companion this time  :'(
The beach was packed, although not many in the water as apparently that was still too cold. I bet there will be many suffering from sunburns: it is crazy how people just lie almost naked in midday sun.

[attachimg=1]

[attachimg=2]

I spent an hour sitting near the bench in front of the cars, looking at the people passing by and assessing the number of tourists now staying in our town.

jackwv

Bubble, beautiful beach.  Agree with you, I always was under an umbrella or in the shade.  Even avoiding the sun I still get spots that must be removed.

Shirley

Gorgeous beach shot & of you, Bubble.  Those umbrellas are permanent fixtures along the shore (matching ones) I presume? I do admire the way "your" country does so much to offer the best life has to all citizens.  No doubt both of you are feeling lonely now, doesn't take long to get used to having someone around to talk to all the time.  Have you heard that Don got home okay?  I whizzed through posts just now & didn't notice one from him.

Had to stop & rub my eyes, pollen from evergreens & pines terrible right now.  I've been to church & had breakfast with the kids, grands & great grands and seriously thinking about a nap.  Having some mist this morning, plenty of rain the last 24 hours, very relaxing.  My whole life I avoided sun when shade was available.  My hair used to be black & I have olive skin like my French father, but the sun still burned me.
