Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

I know I've been absent way too long, but I wanted to share with you the celebration of our 60th wedding anniversary. Two kids getting ready for the roller coaster of life!
:smitten:

Beautiful picture,  Bev...
Happy 60th Anniversary too you and Chap!

Bev, great picture and we had the exact same wall paper in our living room!

Happy 60th Anniversary!

Marilyne

Bev - You two were certainly a good looking young couple. You were married eight months after my husband and I.  Our wedding day was October 6, 1956.

Beverly...
...what a fine, young, newly wed couple you make-made...a very attractive pair of the two of you...and I bet you both haven't changed at all... ;) ok, maybe a few grey hairs then...and as they say..." a little bit older, and a little bit wiser..." :D

Sending Congratulations on your Special Anniversary...

junee

Congratulations Beverley and Chap.   Just prepare for plenty more on that roller coaster.

Mazal Tov, Congrats Beverley!  Maybe you could  try for a photo in the same pose today? :)

Flowers are blooming everywhere for the last month.
Here are the famous Black iris only found in two places in the world: Israel and Jordan.

Congratulations (belated) Bev and Chape!  Beautiful picture, Bev.  And I can remember when I had that kind of waistline!   ;D

Congratulations Bev and Chap.  Somehow I get the feeling this match made in heaven is going to last...... ;)  Beautiful couple.

jackwv

Bev congratulations.   We were just ahead of you on June 2 1956.  Miss Shirley, but it was also a match made in heaven.

Shirley

Great photo, Beverly!  Ah, those were the days....(song in there somewhere).... I kind of think I would recognize you today from that photo.... you really have not changed a lot.  I think I beat everyone (well, quite a few of you)... with Sept.23, 1954.  Congratulations on your anniversary and many more to come!

Bubble, I had to shiver as I scrolled past your black iris..... gorgeous photos.  My mother was a long time Garden Club member and not sure where she got the start, but she had a black iris and was so proud of it you'd have thought she had a diamond mine!  I don't know what happened to it as time passed and she couldn't take care of her flowers, they disappeared .... (sometimes under Dad's riding mower), it may have not survived Missouri winters.  Thanks for the photos and memory boost, had not thought about her black iris in many years.  I would never have guessed they grow "wild" like your photos, but makes sense since they love the sun.

Now that my PSP is working  on the computer with Vista, I will find time to show y'all what goes on around here... maybe after a trip to Colorado mountains first.

Mary Ann

Bev and Chape, congratulations on number 60.  It's nice to know you both are still around.  Best wishes for many more.

Happy Anniversary Beverly.  We will be having our 61st In August.  The years have gone by too quickly.  Such a lovely photo of you and Chape.

angelface555

Bubble, those black irises are gloriously gorgeous! They grow wild here as well, but only the blue or purple types. We have wild daisies as well and an entire new Alaskan enterprise has sprung up around the peony but the latter has been cultivated they grow so well.

Lindancer

Happy Anniversary Bev and Chap, such a lovely picture. My husband and I almost made 63 years.

Bubble, Thanks for showing us those love black Irises. I use to have quite a few Irises planted around the yard, but they all seem to be gone right now. I planted some tulip bulbs last week, and I see that some critted has dug them up already.

Mary Ann

Gloria d, one year I planted a lot of tulip bulbs and moles ate them and I had very few tulips that year.  The next year I planted tulips but put one or two Decon pellets with each tulip bulb and I had tulips that year.

Thanks MaryAnn, great idea

Not only black irises grow in the wild here.

Bubble, sitting having my morning coffee and what a delight to see the beautiful flowers.

Shirley

Beautiful sight, Bubble!  The iris make such a show when blooming, I can imagine how pretty the view would be.

Mary Ann, I had not considered moles eating those bulbs!  One year a neighbor gave me a whole bunch of tulip bulbs and I did exactly as directed planting.... 'cause I do NOT have a green thumb.  Not a single bulb came up, I was mortified. I do have all kinds of moles, voles & other critters that crawl around under ground.  The ground from river bank to my front yard is nothing but underground tunnels.  Never thought of blaming them for the missing tulips.... they probably think I'm going to feed them that good every year!

It is awful humid here this morning, I woke up before 5:00 am (all cats outside) and couldn't go back to sleep.  Looked out in the pool area and saw all 4 cats waiting for breakfast.  Miss Callie thinks she is family but I still can't trust her inside completely, will hate to leave her when I go to CO but the neighbor's house is still "home" and when she sees me drive off in the car, she heads across the street.  I make sure the neighbor will be home when I'm gone.

halkel

Bubble, it is a shame that Sachiko3 didn't see the Iris, she loved flowers so much.  And you did a great job of capturing their beauty.

Shirley

You are so right, Hal, Sachiko would enjoy the iris.  Hope she is okay.

I took photos of my world, the problem pool and the sunbathers.  Also thought some of you might appreciate seeing
one of the few remaining B-29s doing a fly over during the Wichita River Festival Sundown Parade this past week.

Here is "Doc", lovingly restored by a lot of people that worked on her originally or flew one just like her during WWII.
A link to the story behind her.  http://www.bizjournals.com/wichita/news/2017/05/30/b-29-doc-readies-for-a-busy-weekend-in-wichita.html

Shirley

Here's the clean pool and sunbathers, not sure what order, cats refuse to be organized.

Mary Ann

Shirley, Tom looks a lot like Kendrick, even in the way he is relaxing there.  Kendrick doesn't have a pool but he has a deck and spreads out to sun himself.  I love the colors of calico cats.  A cousin had one and I think the cat's name also was Callie.  Long time ago!

Mary Ann

Shirley a great memory the B 29.   LIke the pool inviting and bet you never use, just for the looking.

FlaJean

Your pool looks inviting, Shirley.  Nothing like a dip in the pool to cool you off in a hurry. :)
Nice photos.

Bubbles, those iris are lovely.  I didn't know they grew wild.

angelface555

The following photos of wildflowers have been shown before. They were all taken at Creamer's Field, a wildlife, and avian sanctuary. We do not have any of the glorious black irises, unfortunately!  :'(
