Oldiesmann: Welcome Barb. If you have any questions, let me know. Things have changed quite a bit since this site was first set up years ago

BarbStAubrey: Aha looks like there is a limit - since last here when I was living in Austin I moved to Magnolia near my son - still reading up a storm... need to find the reading group

BarbStAubrey: Oh my has this site changed - I was part of this back when we were all SeniorNet and then the big change and the split - for a time I posted howevr I focused more on Senior Learn - only a few of us left and the few talk about this site and so I've rejoined

There is a chatroom actually. I just forgot to add the menu item for it. I'll do that shortly :)

so_P_bubble

so P here :) and very glad to be back.

I used to haunt these discussions:
Norm's Bait and Tackle, Classical Corner (Radioman's), Saying of the day, Old Sayings (Rammel's), Art page (Radioman's), Photos Now and Then, Birds place (Chocky's), Trivia games, and a few more games.  Also the Knitting place and the gardening forum.  Sorry but I don't remember the exact title.

CallieOK

Same old Callie - just a new "ending" because the new LogIn said CallieK didn't exist and I had to re-register.

Love the new "emoticons".

diglady

Diglady here.

So glad to see the site up and running again. Mostly posted in the Political forum

Shirley

Well, I don't handle getting lost & having to find my way back with any type of "computer" know how.... Been around the block & finally got home.  Thank you, Michael for shining the light & rescuing "the wild bunch".

I check into the Soda Shoppe first thing & then on to Photos Then & Now (& all the sites under that)... when someone posts a link I go check that out but don't navigate too far from this home. I have loved the fact the Gallery has been working so well since it is easy to post photos from there.  I'm not going to hold my breath until all is back to normal because I'd be having a nervous breakdown if in your shoes.

Pat, I've been worried about you, glad to see you post.... know we all appreciate what you do for us, thank you.

Three cheers for all the crew!   :smitten:

HOORAY!  I found you!  I was able to register with my old info.  I didn't have to change my name or my password.  I sure hope that doesn't disappear on me.

I HAVE MISSED YOU, ONE AND ALL!  Please don't ever leave me again!  I just didn't know what to do with myself.  When I get upset I eat and WORK and if Joanie ever finds out about the WORK, she'll fill up my page in her book with demerits.

I mostly read and post in the Soda Shoppe with some deviations to some of the games and photos.  I'm sort of a "jack (or Jill) of all trades.  I LOVE IT ALL!

What happened? Was the place hacked?

I'd like to see Norm's Bait and Tackle forum rise from the ashes.

Norm, sadly, may be gone but our memories of him are not.

Hi there!

I'm glad that you found your way back.  Michael is working so hard behind the scenes to get things listed as they were.

Now, if you tell me what USER NAME you'd like we can remove the email address as your name.

Pat  :)

Thanks on the info on what happened, Oldiesmann.

Thanks, Pat. I'd like to return as deedee. Tried to change the username, obviously I couldn't.

so_P_bubble

Shirley, I think we could consider Pat to be our Guardian Angel since it is thanks to her that we can all regroup and be together.
I felt lost these last days, not able to drop in and see/read about all my friends.

deedee - got you changed.   :)

deedee - got you changed.   :)

Thanks, Jeanne Lee!

Shame on whatever happened, to create so much work for you all.

Mary Ann

I had a hard time registering, kept getting a message that I didn't exist.  I couldn't even change my user name to Mary Ann, which I should do.  I posted mostly in Norm's Bait & Tackle and Soda Shoppe, but I put my 2c worth in Classical Corner, Cooking folder, Garden folder, actually anything that had something of interest to me.

It's nice to see so many familiar names back again.  Thanks Pat and Oldiesman for all of your hard work.

There used to be a way to set your Profile so your name didn't show every time you went into a Forum.   I liked the anonymity of being able to read some Forums in which I will never post.

I don't remember on what page I found statistics at the bottom that listed everyone who had signed in during the past 60 minutes (or whatever time frame it was).  Don't like this, either.

We don't all need to know what everybody else is doing......IMHO, of course.   :)

dapphne

I have been looking for that too,  Callie,
and I do believe that that option is not offered
in this new version,  or they  have chosen not
to turn it on.

I've turned off the option to show who's viewing a board or post. Hope that helps!

Awww....  you are so kind.  Know who I'm going to see tomorrow and go out for supper with?  Paul and I are going to London and we're going to take Don out for supper.  Thought you'd like to know!

Pat - or someone - can you change my user name to Mary Ann?  I have always signed my posts with my name, but many people don't look that far and I am addressed as "matock" which is fine, but I do have a name and I'd like people to use it.

Bubble, it is SO good to be back & I totally agree that Pat is our Guardian Angel & better add Michael to that post, too.

Jane, I think I must have put on 5 pounds eating since I couldn't visit with anyone in here... thank goodness we had
e-mail to buzz around on to see if anyone got in before "ME".

I did go into my Profile but couldn't get changes made at the time & will be patient until back to normal.  Ah, Callie, I see you remembered why I couldn't get the job done, thanks! The important part is "The Gang's All Here!"  If we notice someone missing & have e-mail for them... send a message with a trail back, please?   :smitten:

To keep your online presence hidden, go to your profile, click on "Modify Profile", "Account Settings" and make sure there is no check mark in "Show others my online status".

In my Profile, there is no line reading "Show others my online status" under Modify Profile/Account Settings.

Thanks, Oldiesmann for turning off the option to see who's viewing.   :)

Hi I'm alpiner1
I post in Homemaking & Needlework , mini challenge & also the chat room .

Callie, I think you may not have scrolled far enough down.  It was there - I removed the check mark for you, so you should be "hidden" from now on.   :)

:) Hi Angel or angelface here and I too am glad to be back although I miss all the things we lost, especially from those who've passed on. I agree that Pat and Michael are deeply appreciated for all the work they do for us!

I post normally on Norm's B&T, computer Q and A and other computer threads, photography sites and games such as trivia and other quizzes. I sometimes looked at the cooking thread and pretty much all over at times.

I like the new smilies but miss some of the old like the chicken dance, pouring coffee and the balloons.

I'm glad to be back!

dapphne

Jeanne,  I also could not find it..   Would you please do mine,  also.
Thank you so much.

:( I'm having trouble setting the time. As of right now you have 8:49 pm and my time is 4:51 pm.

I also would like to be invisible and it doesn't show up on my modify profile.

Thanks

GrnMtnGal

I posted in a couple of the forums occasionally, but haven't done so for some time now.  Actually wouldn't have known of problems here had I not seen Sandy's post on Facebook.  I know this site is very important to many who tend to keep in touch on a daily basis.  Good to see it refurbished.😊
