Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

It's a deep cold day here....-5 this morning...and to be colder tomorrow with wind.  So, wind chills can be -40...yep...MINUS 40.  I need to get out but appts are here in town.

Next week is to be back to "normal"...in the 30s.

Lots of flu and norovirus here, too.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

Hi, Darlene...somehow the size thingy got left off your post, so I fixed it for you.   :smitten:

Much milder temps...40s and 50s, so that's good for me!  I'm still getting the paper stuff together for the tax preparer next week.  I've decided to be a "shoe box" client...well...not in a shoe box, but I'm not dealing with that "organizer."  I'll take the forms in I have and she can organze them however she wants. I never know what's "interest" and what's "dividend"...that's what I pay her for.   ;)

I was hungry for Chinese style food, so went to local restaurant for lunch.  Lots of people had the same idea as it was full. Waitress found me a little corner area and all was good.  Plenty brought home for supper and tomorrow's lunch.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

Hi Gals. It seems like we're just down to 3 of us. I hope the others are well.  I had a sore throat & infection week before last. Still not very energetic. Brian has his surgery today, but I haven't heard from him yet.

John is still having tests, but so far the results are high BP and low heart beat. The dr said that he didn't think he needed a pacemaker yet.  He has one more test to go--a complete thoracic echocardiogram.

Our daughter's mother-in-law passed away last week. She was 88 and had been quite ill for 2-3 years.

I finished the March newsletter this week. It will come out Sat, the 1st.

Jane, I love banana bread.  I used to make it a lot.

We've been having 70 degree weather this week, but it's supposed to drop back to our normal 50's next week.

Darlene, I hope your daughter won't be too stressed out being a caregiver.  If it is too hard on her, she might consider having a nurses aide come in a couple times a week to bathe her, etc.

Well I can't think of anything else to say except, have a good day and stay well.
Sherry

Hi, Sherry and Darlene...

I guess we are the last 3 still standing.  We've lost too many to death and/or overcome by conditions that make posting difficult.

Yesterday was my 6 month visit with my rheumatologist...and the prolia shot.  He has me do lab work an hour before..and for the first time in a long time, my inflammation numbers were good...and he said all the numbers were good, as was my BP.  Hurrah for that.

Tomorrow is the urologist and a cystoscopy here at the local hospital.  Then I'm free from doc appts for a bit, I think/hope.

Beautiful spring-like weather here, but that could change in a flash.

Stay healthy and safe,

jane

Hi Gals. It was 80 day before yesterday, but in 60's today, back to the 70's tomorrow! Such a roller coaster. But it's been a warm winter for us except for one cold snap of about 10 days back in January.

Brian came through his surgery fine and has now been released by his surgeon to go back to regular work, not just on the computer.

John has had a bunch of tests. The only thing besides the BP that is wrong is his creatine level which is too high. Haven't talked to the doctor yet to see what he needs to do about that and how serious it is.

I finished the April newsletter yesterday. We did an April Fool article saying that Jane Fonda was moving into our facility, etc.  Then on the 2nd page revealed that it was an April Fool joke. Should evoke some laughter.

I also had council meeting and Town Hall meeting this week. Had to write up the minutes for both.

Other than that, not much going on. Take care everyone and enjoy the spring weather and flowers. We have a lot of things in bloom here--daffodils, red bud, Bradford pears, etc.Sherry

Happy end of March!  And April Fool's Day tomorrow.

My niece and nephew came down from N. Wisconsin for a short visit.  I haven't seen them this winter, and they ran into snow going home.  They changed burned out light bulbs I can't reach, and we made plans for a summer visit when Don's retired to do some outside things.

Stay safe and healthy,

Jane
