Hi Gals, I had PT yesterday. It was a little better. I need to go in and do the home exercises soon.  I really feel miserable! It's so hard to get up and I can't be on my feet any length of time.  It's not hurting like it was except when I try to get up from a chair, but it is just not comfortable any of the time.  On top of that my floor lamp broke last night, so John is going to try to find one on his way home from bridge.  However, that means I have to take Bunny to the vet for her bladder xray.  I guess I'm just having a be sorry for me day!

Marilyn, sorry to hear about the garage door. Those can be expensive.  Hope you can get it quickly.

Jane, it sounds like you and Ray do about the same as us--let others do it!  The landscapers mowed our lawn today. I was so glad. It was so tall.

Sue, nice to have good cards. Glad you got your groceries too.

Mary, I wish you would take a picture of your pretty deck and have Jane link it.

Hi to all. Hope I'm in a better mood tomorrow.  Sharon

SCFSue

Hi Every Buddy.  It's a slow day here after a busy Thursday.  I didn't get out of bed this morning until about 10:30!  Just pooped out from my last appointment with the neurologist at 8:00 a.m., grocery shopping afterwards with Tim at Kroger, and can't remember what I did after putting my groceries away.  Wednesday was very busy and complicated with Dave's funeral and burial at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery over in Georgia.

We had a long wait to get into the cemetery because one of Kris's brothers had a gun in his car--I think he keeps one there when traveling.  He happened to mention it within hearing of the cemetery officials and they wouldn't let us in--until one of the other brothers followed him off cemetery property to park his car and they could return to the cemetery for an outdoor service and taps at a special pavilion and then to the gravesite where the family placed flowers.  Dave was an Army veteran and was eligible for burial there.  He will have a tombstone with his name and rank and years of service as all the other veterans have.  It's a lovely cemetery with lots of veterans of numerous wars.

Today has been slow for me.  I didn't wake up this morning until after 10:00 and have only accomplished one task.  I did get the guest room sheets washed and they are dry now, so I'll put them back on the bed.  Then I'm planning on reading on my bed for a while.  I might go outside later and pull off my browning dwarf gardenias.  They are blooming profusely and yesterday afternoon I pulled off a lot of them.  These dwarfs do so much better than my one large gardenia in the back yard.  It doesn't get as much sun because of the large trees in the back.

Sharon, I'm surprised that you are already cleared for driving.  Hurting following surgery is the pits, so you have my sympathy.  I'm still not cleared to drive a whole year after my fall!  And that is also the pits!

I'm guessing all you other Buddies are busy today.  I hope all have a nice day and are enjoying some sunshine.

Sue

SharonE

Well, Sue, you know if you don't ask, they can't tell you "no".  No one mentioned driving restrictions and since it is my left knee and I have automatic shift, I don't think it makes any difference.  I'm not driving far, just a mile or so anyway.

I'm glad your neurologist said everything was okay now. I can understand why you are tired though.

I've done my PT exercises and have the ice pack on again and have eaten lunch, but that's all. I really need to do a load of laundry, but haven't gotten to it yet.  Then take Bunny to the vet.  I'm scared what they will find.  Sharon

Cottoncandy

Hi everyone...just got back from my daughters...we have had good rain showers....Sharon and Sue glad you are doing better...I had several lab/test done... all was ok...thanks to God......I did color my hair....and I find...that I really like the grey/natural color better...so will go back to that...and so much easier.....hard to believe it's already June...time seems to fly....hope y'all have a great weekend..and do something that's fun or makes you happy.....Darlene

maryz

Darlene, glad you had some good rain - that's always precious in Texas.

Marilyn, good luck with the garage door.  When do you go to your vacation?

Sharon, the getting up from sitting has been a problem for me for years - knee surgeries notwithstanding.  Sorry.  That's why I always sit in higher-seated chairs with arms - just to make it easier. I worked on the theory about driving - if I wasn't taking pain meds regularly, it was okay to drive (unless told otherwise - i.e., don't ask, don't tell )

Sue, glad you got a good report from your neurologist.  Glad you got some good sleep.  I don't think I've ever slept until 10 a.m.  And congrats on the cards.

My duplicate partner for Friday cancelled, so I didn't go this afternoon.  I was really just as glad.  I was concerned about the up-and-down stuff with the rounds.  Both my knees really hurt throughout the night, and I didn't sleep really well.  Best was when I moved to the chair for a couple of hours toward morning.  I'll try to get a couple of pictures of the deck and get them to jane.  I really am enjoying it.

The Alzheimer's Association is giving a program after supper this evening about new treatments, etc., in dealing with the disease.  Should be interesting.  Our fourth bridge player here at the Terrace is a lovely man who moved in several months ago.  He's a retired Episcopal priest and a pretty good player.  His wife, who is mostly in a scooter has dementia of some sort.  She's a delightful lady, but....  And I just found out yesterday that he had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.  No wonder they've moved in here.  I really feel for them both.

Have a good weekend, Buddies!

Thanks, jane.  My door faces mainly south-east, so lots of morning sun.  These were taken about 4:30 pm.
"When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it.  You just learn how to go on without them. But always keep them safely tucked in your heart."

SharonE

Thanks, Jane for posting those.  Mary, your deck is really nice.  Lots to look at--flowers, birdfeeders, etc. I know you must enjoy it.

Two evenings ago, my floor lamp broke (at the base) and I really need it where I have my recliner now, so John stopped at a lighting store on the way home and looked yesterday but wasn't certain what I would want, so this afternoon, he took me up there and I found one and bought it.  It was even on sale!!  I like it and it will work for me.  I did exercises yesterday and today, but am really hurting.  I must have slept 2 or 3 hours this afternoon after walking around. My knee cap is hurting more now, but still have pain from the tourniquet on my thigh.  John has been so good taking care of me.  That is not his natural bent, but I'm really glad he is doing it now.

I told you that Bunny had an xray yesterday of her bladder.  It showed 2 large bladder stones which is what is causing the infections.  It will cost nearly $1000 + the need to put her on special food, but we decided to go with it. Hopefully, she will have 5 or 6 more years. (She's 9)   Anyway, she will have her surgery on Tues.  Can you say we are falling apart around here?!!

Mary, I am so sorry you are still having such pain from your knees after having had surgery.  Does ice help?  That does help me.

Darlene, glad you had a nice visit with your daughters and some rain at home.  Enjoy.

Hi to Sue and Ginny and Joy.  Sharon

maryz

Sharon, sorry about your baby.  We do hate it when they hurt.  I hope all goes well.

I haven't been using ice, just the walker and knee brace as the orthopod recommended.  I just hope the fractured kneecap is healing.  Patch, patch, patch!
"When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it.  You just learn how to go on without them. But always keep them safely tucked in your heart."

jane

Patch, patch, patch here too!  Honestly, if we didn't have doc and dentist appts, I don't think we'd have a "social" life.  How sad is that!!! ;)

It is HOT
here...I mean July-August HOT  High 80s/low 90s is too much for us old people. We have the sprinklers on for the flowers and shrubs and it felt good to get wet as I moved them.  The Old People's Version of running in the sprinklers!!   :2funny:

Inside and reading this afternoon is all on the agenda.  I did the laundry yesterday and need to think about what I want to take to Chicago for a memorial next Saturday.  It's to be very hot again...so need to think of what will be comfortable.

jane

SCFSue

Hi Every Buddy.  Olyne picked me up for Sunday School and church and brought me home afterwards.  I fixed lunch and afterwards spent most of the day reading.  About 4:00 it started to pour rain and I didn't have my trash out to the street.  I waited for a while until it slowed down and wheeled the garbage down to the curb, but didn't take out my newspapers or my cardboard.  If the rain stops before I go to bed I'll take that down then.

Today was Pentacost and we had communion by intinction--going to the front of the church to be served.  There were not as many people there as usual, although still a pretty fair crowd.  Lots of people are vacationing out of town, to the beach and wherever, now that kids are out of school.

The rain has cooled things down here, but will probably be pretty humid tomorrow, depending on how much rain we get tonight.  So far we haven't had temps much over 85--although it can get lots hotter here.

Have a nice evening, Buddies.
Sue

jane

Morning!  It's to be cooler today...mid to high 70s, so perfect for me.

We're off to CR today...will get my car serviced, and get to the Czech-Slovak Museum to see the Dale Chihuly glass exhibit.

Stay cool!

Jane

SharonE

Hi Gals, I'm back from the ortho check. Got the sutures removed. He said it would depend on me and my pain on how soon I have to have the total replacement.  I didn't go to church yesterday. Quite a bit of walking involved.  John did take me out to dinner last night though.  Otherwise, not much going on. iciing, elevating, pt exercises and dozing. ;)

Jane, I hope the glass exhibit is as nice as you expect. I've read about it and it's supposed to be wonderful.  It's about 83 here today with scattered showers. Not bad.

Bunny's surgery is tomorrow. Praying that it goes well.

Hi to all.  Sharon

jane

Same temp here, Sharon, and a bit of a breeze.  We're at Biaggi's for lunch, then a grocery store stop and on home.  The Chihuly exhibit was most interesting.  It's amazing what that man does with glass.

Jane

Marilyn

Keith goes for his Urologist appointment tomorrow afternoon. I am going with nhim because he (Keith) prefers me to be with him. to remember all that he is told.
We are leaving for Sunriver next Tuesday so it is rather hectic getting everything done that needs to be done. his Dr appointment, freckles vet Visit, Grocery shopping and packing for the trip. Freckles is going with us so she has to get all her shots before we leave and get some Tick protection.

Off to my Tai Chi practice now

SCFSue

Hi Buddies.  We had a good bit of rain here this morning so I worked inside.  I did laundry, fixed lunch, read a good bit, and went out about 4:00 and picked off hundreds of brown miniature gardenias (with many more to pick but this huge bush is on a slope and not easy to reach).  I'll try again tomorrow if the weather permits.

Tim came by this morning for a quick chat--and I told him I'd just mailed my second payment to the IRS.  Not my favorite thing.  My accountant prepares the forms and mails them pre-addressed to the IRS and I have to send 4 payments during the year--much better than sending it all at once.

Jane, our local Art Museum (owned by the University and donated to a lovely museum built by some wealthy Alums) has a beautiful Chihuly chandelier in the lobby entrance.  Once when I was visiting Bill and Dawn, he took me over to St. Louis to an outdoor park which also had Chihuly art in the gardens and in their indoor plant buildings.  What a treat!

Marilyn, I hope Keith gets a good report at the Urologist.  Have a great trip to Sunriver.  I know you'll have fun there and I hope the weather is really nice for you there.

Sharon, I'm sorry you're still hurting so much and hope all is better soon.  I'll be praying for Bunny's surgery.  What kind of exercises are you doing at home?  Do you have to go to a rehab place for additional exercises/workout?  When I had my knee scoped some years ago, I had 8 weeks of rehab at an office that was managed by our local hospital.  It really helped.

Mary, did I tell you your deck is lovely?  I enjoyed the pictures Jane posted for you.  Good luck with your exercises, too.

My dwarf gardenias are gorgeous this year.  It rained heavily about noon, so about 4:00 I went outside and picked off a large trug full of brown blooms-and the bush is still full.  Lots more to pick off and lots of buds which will open tomorrow or the next day.

It's just about time for the evening news, so I'll go see what's going on in the world.  Have a nice evening, Buddies.
Sue

Marilyn

Got the results of my Smashing last week ALL IS GOOD !!!   YAY!!!!!

maryz

Marilyn, hooray on the mammogram!  I hope Keith's visit to the urologist goes well, too.

jane, glad you had a good trip to town.  I've seen lots of Chihuly exhibits and have never been disappointed.  They're wonderful.

Sharon, keep doing the exercises.  We do hate them, but they're so important.  Hope all goes well with Bunny's surgery.

Sue, congrats on keeping your gardenia dead-headed.  They're such lovely flowers.  We had a lot of rain last night and today, too - maybe more overnight.

Went to duplicate tonight.  I played several hands, and we played good defense - but won no master points.  Oh, well.  I'm going to try to get to Silver Sneakers tomorrow morning - will just do all the exercises sitting down.

Sleep well, Buddies!

Have not gotten up in the middle of the night in years, been worrying about my cat that gets sick every time we hit the road.  Last time he threw up before I got to the bypass around the city so I'm convinced it's anxiety & not motion sickness.  Will check with the vet tomorrow make that today.  Leaving for a week in CO, camping next to my sons.  I took them first time by myself when they were 12 & 14.... now in 50s.  Didn't realize I'd have to take 3 cats every time I leave town after Cas died, but boarding places don't take ferals & these would go crazy in a cage. The two boys have gone out "with me" every year since Cas died, (they sleep in #1 son's camper rather than sleep with cats) but come eat breakfast with me.  We know every good place to eat in Salida & Buena Vista and always have one meal at the Mt.Princeton Lodge.  The boys do the grilling out, and insist I take one hike with them. They didn't used to bug me about ME hiking when they were younger, they loved to get off exploring by themselves.

I still hang out over in the Soda Shoppe & Photos, less time on the computer since having to run the house by myself.  Cas had been sick for so long I didn't realize how much he was doing that saved me time.  Thinking is a strain for me!  I think it was Sue mentioned the "estimated income" 4 times a year.  Cas did that but my tax man says I'm okay having the bank take out a chunk, the pension fund takes out state & fed, and Social Security will only take for the Feds.... so I write a check early as possible when all the forms get in, and don't have to yell but once a year instead of the 4x like Cas did.  Each year I make a huge donation to one & get a smaller refund from the other, so far they have switched every year who gets the check.

It's been 4 years and life goes on, don't think I've been to check on y'all since.  Nice to see everyone perking along, aging is sure not what we all dreamed about for these "Golden Years", is it?  My daughter-in-law just got back from FL after selling her mother's house & all possessions except for a POD load that she hopes to use in her new "apartment".  A few months ago it was to be Independent, now they aren't sure if she will be in assisted or memory care unit.  Alzheimers gaining faster than expected but they hope not as bad as it seems once she gets her meds and food regulated.  I'm reading all I can about the disease, had a sister-in-law die because of it & seems so many friends family members.  Scary.

Sorry about the knee pains & health issues, time I get back in bed before time to get up, so won't go back to see what kind of mischief y'all have been up to.  Looks like everyone still here, nice to see you again.  Shirley (over in Kansas).

maryz

Shirley, good to know you're still out there in Kansas (or Colorado) and perking along.  Keep up the good work!
"When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it.  You just learn how to go on without them. But always keep them safely tucked in your heart."

jane

Shirley...good to see your post and know things are going well for you and your beloved trips to CO.  I think of you when we drive through W on the way to or from Tx.

Marilyn....great results on the mammo...always a relief.

Sue....gardenias sound beautiful.  Ray loves them, but we have no luck with them indoors.

Sharon...hope the pain stops soon and puppy gets through surgery fine.

Mary...sounds like ok bridge day...though no master points.

Another...yep...another doc appt today for Ray and then having neighbors/friends for supper as they're due home from 6-7 weeks on the road.

I need to get going and get to the grocery for a couple items.

Jane

SharonE

Hi Gals, good to hear from you, Shirley.  I'm sure life as a widow takes a lot of getting used to.

Sue, I absolutely love gardenias, but I hate picking off the dead blooms.  We had some big bushes in HH.  Be careful in leaning and stretching to reach the dead blooms that you don't fall or hurt yourself.

Mary, it sounds like fun at bridge even if you didn't win any pts.

Marilyn, Hurrah for a good mamm report and lets hope Keith gets a good report tomorrow too.  Sounds like you have a lot to keep you busy between now and next week.

I guess I lost a big bunch of my post.  First of all Bunny's surgery is postponed to Thursday due to their xray being down.  We'll drop her at 8:30 and pick her up when they call us.  I hope she does well.

Jane, enjoy your guests for dinner tonight. I love art glass and I'm glad you enjoyed your show.

My knee seems better. I actually rode the recumbent bicycle very very slowly for 5 minutes as well as doing the other exercises.  Sue I go twice a week to the physical therapy center. I have had lots of PT for my various ailments and really agree that they are very helpful--if painful.  I do the exercises at home also.

I think I told you that Donna, our neighbor, has a son who is a missionary and is going to be sent to Cameroon next summer.  In the meantime, they will send him to Albertville, France to learn French so they will be prepared.  I have made out some lists of basic French phrases, pronunciation, words, etc, for them and the dil (who is American Korean) will come over tomorrow and I will try to teach the correct pronunciation to her and also answer any questions.  Are any of you familiar with JAARS?  It is the mission organization that works all over the world translating the Bible into all the exotic languages that haven't been translated yet.  The center is near where we live and I have toured it. It is very impressive.  If I were younger and healthier, I would work at the center and do everything I could to help them.

Saturday is our 56th anniversary, so we will be going out with our neighbors for dinner.  Other than that, nothing going on here.

Hi Darlene, Ginny, JOy, and whoever else pops in.  Sharon

SCFSue

Hi Buddies.  My cleaning ladies were late again this morning, but did their usual efficient and quick cleaning, changed the sheets on my bed, dusted everything and damp mopped all the wood floors and wet mopped the bathrooms.  So I'm cleaned up for the next 2 weeks.

I dead headed more gardenia blooms this morning, but it started raining about 11:30 and has continued to rain since.  It's now 3:30 and seems like it's in for the duration.  Just a steady fairly moderate down pour--and we need it here.

After lunch I have been reading on my bed.  I finished the paper back I was reading and will look for something to read this evening after the news and the TCM movie--that's my usual evening routine.

Shirley, it's good to see you here today.  You have an interesting life out there and sure keep busy with activities.

Mary, how did Silver Sneakers go today?  I miss going to the gym and about the only exercise I get is walking with my cane in my neighborhood.  I will be so glad when I get this brace off my right leg and am able to drive AND go to the gym!

Jane, could gardenias survive outdoors in an Iowa winter?  We have cold and freezing days here in Auburn during the winter, but only a few below freezing and we get a lot of sun during 3 seasons of the year, so the gardenias do well if they are planted in a morning sun location as mine are down by the entrance to my driveway.

Sharon, you're right that picking off dead blooms is not fun, but the results pay off in many more blooms--and I don't mind doing it.  Good for you for tutoring the kids who will be going to Cameroon as missionaries.  Have I told you that my friends Laura, son Brad, and daughter Ashley were from Cameroon?  Brad was born here and is an American citizen and I think Laura and Ashley have applied for citizenship.

I guess I'll be watching TCM after the news shows this evening.  However, I just peeked at this evening's movie schedule and the movies are duds from 7:00 until 11:00.  I'll have to find another book to read!

Have a nice evening, Every Buddy.

SCFSue

Good almost noon, Buddies.  I've just been putzing around this morning. I didn't get up until almost 8:30, ate breakfast, read the paper, and started working the crossword puzzle in the paper, but felt dizzy and went back to my room and laid down on my bed.  After a bit I felt better, so decided to check in here.  I was planning to make my eggplant casserole for lunch and have enough for another meal or two, but will postpone that until I feel stronger.  I won't be working outside, either.  It's just one of those blah days.  Part of it is my summer time allergies.  Drippy nose and headaches.  I'm not taking the OTC allergy meds that I usually take because of the other stuff I have to take now.

I hope you're all having nice weather and a pain free day!
Sue

jane

A not-so-good day here, too, Sue.  I took Ray back to Acute Care in Dbq because of the swelling in the left knee and the pain.  They X-rayed...lots of arthritis, of course, and blood in the joint causing part of the swelling. They got him an orthopedic appt for next Thursday, so that's good.

It's to be another heat wave here starting tomorrow....mid to high 90s.  I'm hoping he'll cancel this trip to Chicago for the Memorial Open House thing.  We're also putting off our trip to Ohio since we were planning to be there Thurs and on Thurs he'll be in the orthopedist's office.   Never a dull moment!!

jane

Marilyn

Keith's PSA was 7.4 up from 5.4 a couple of months ago.  He said he does not want a biopsy maybe he will have the other blood test that will tell us what his risk if ove the advancement of cancer. So far  nothing could be determined from the  digital exam by the PA.

SCFSue

Hi Buddies.  I made a big veggie casserole in my large frying pan--peppers, eggplant, onion, canned tomatoes, herbs, and ate some for my lunch and put the remainder in the fridge for at least 2 more lunch meals.  It is always good, but would be best if I'd planted peppers and onion in my little mini garden in the back yard, but my gardening is not up to snuff this year-- hopefully next.

I'd put in a request to Village Friends earlier this week and a friend picked me up at 1:00 to go to Kroger for my weekly shopping.  I got lots of things needed for next week, including snack foods for Wednesday's bridge at my house and cookies for the freezer for bridge on Wednesday and also on Thursday.  I also bought chicken breasts to make my chicken casserole which I will take to our Thursday bridge luncheon.  I'll freeze them until Wednesday, cook the breasts on Wednesday after that bridge club leaves and put the "Hot Chicken Casserole" (longtime recipe from Better Homes and Garden's Cookbook) together and heat it before I have to leave for Terri's house where we will eat before we play bridge.

I need a haircut, but will have to post pone it until Friday of next week.  My hairdresser is busy until then.

I hope you've all had a good day.

Sue

maryz

Shoot - I just copied (I thought) my post which I wrote in another place, but it seems to be gone - and, of course, I had already deleted it.  Sigh....

Anyhow, jane, I'm sorry about Ray's knee, and hope all goes well.  I'm learning to hate knees!  The new heat wave won't help.

Marilyn, the sudden jump in Keith's PSA is not a good thing.  Hopefully, it's something they can just keep watch over.

Sue, sorry you didn't get a garden in this year.  Enjoy your veggie stew.

Sharon posted on facebook that Bunny had done well, and was back home.

Not much here.  I got a new Samsung tablet Wednesday.  My Sue has one, and really likes it.  I have a Samsung android phone, and the displays are identical.  So maybe my learning curve won't be too high.  But they sold me the wrong case for it, so I have to go back tomorrow to get the right one.  And get a haircut (not at Best Buy, though.   :2funny:)
"When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it.  You just learn how to go on without them. But always keep them safely tucked in your heart."

jane

Sue...you've been a busy gal.

Mary...glad you're not getting your haircut at Best Buy!!   ;D  I got mine done on Thursday before taking Ray back to Acute Care and it feels ...and looks...so much better.

Marilyn...good the doc is keeping an eye on it.  Jumps are not a good thing, I'm told.

Sharon...hope your Bunny is better today.

GinnyAnn...hope you had a good birthday.

Jeanne...you're probably as hot as we are this weekend.

Darlene...stay cool and safe, too.  TX and AZ seem very hot already.

Thankfully Ray cancelled our trip to Chicago for the Memorial. The stepson's home where this Open House is to be is in an area of Chicago and has a lot of steps...home is on something like 3-4 levels plus the rooftop whatever.  In 92 degree weather, that's not where we need to be.  So, he called his sister, the niece who was going to drive us down and the niece whose husband this Open House is about and explained and they all seemed fine with it.  Nephew in Mpls also called and told Ray Chicago was not where he needed to be.  We've also postponed our trip to my sister's in Ohio.

I took him to the hospital this morning for a blood test to test his cortisol levels to see if adrenal  glands are working or if he needs more prednisone.{sp?}

Sharon....did the docs ever tell you to take a 650 mg Tylenol with your Tramadol?  I'd never been told that, but the Acute Care Doc said it helps the tramadol work better and Ray said he got the best night's sleep he's had in years.

Very hot here already, so we're inside this weekend for the most part.

jane

SharonE

No Jane, no doctor has told me to take Tylenol with Tramadol. So glad to hear it works for Ray. I'll check with my Dr. I'm so sorry Ray has knee problems now. Not good.  Good decision to stay home from Chicago though.

Bunny wouldn't eat or drink last night. Finally got half of a pain pill down her. Deli turkey didn't tempt her like usual. She did sleep through the night okay and then I was able to get all 3 of her meds (wrapped in turkey) down her this AM. She still wouldn't eat or drink though.  Kept going out to try to poop without success.  When the doctor called, she was concerned about her not drinking, so we took her in and they gave her an IV of saline.  She leaked all over their floor though.  Consequently, when we got home, we put her bed on the sun porch along with her food and water. She did eat a lot of the canned food the vet recommended at lunchtime. The's sleeping now.

I've had PT in addition to going to the vets.  They seem to think I'm coming along.

Jocelyne called to tell me she had had her first ultrasound and the baby is another boy!!  What is it with this family that we can't have girls?!  They said though that he looked very healthy and good, so that's the important thing.

Sue, you have been busy. Your veggie skillet sounds good.  I hope you haven't had any more dizzy spells.  Too bad about the garden, but with your health the past year, it's good to skip it.

Marilyn, sorry to hear that Keith's PSA has risen. If it goes up again, they will probably do a biopsy.

Mary, neat on the new Samsung.  Glad both you and Jane got your haircuts and are looking spiffy!

John sent me a dozen yellow roses in a big vase with greenery and baby's breath.  This is for our 56th anniversary and was quite a surprise since he doesn't usually do that. We're going out to a fancy steakhouse in uptown Charlotte with neighbors tomorrow.

We're to hit 90 Monday and be at that the rest of the week. Not looking forward to that.
All for now.  Sharon
