Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Good morning, Every Buddy.  I've had breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen, but still need to shower and get dressed so I can get my morning walk in.  It's pretty chilly again this morning but is expected to warm up later in the day.

Jeanne, I hope you can get your posting straightened out.  It seems strange that it keeps taking you back to long ago posts. I hope you're not snowed in and freezing up there!

Darlene, I hope you can get your posting size straightened out.  Sometimes I think we have a mysterious poster who messes things up (NOT!) but things do seem to get out of whack sometimes!

Not much going on here today.  After I shower and dress, I'll walk in my neighborhood and try to figure out what I'll make for my lunch.

I hope Every Buddy looking in has a nice day today.
Sue

Marilyn

Good Morning every Buddy. My housekeeper[ will be here today for 4 hours. We are doing  deep clean a little at a time. Even cupboards getting cleaned out etc. I am getting rid of a lot if the  stuff that Goodwill last week.

A Service Dog trainer is going to  do the Public Access evaluation on freckles so she can be a legal Service Dog I am looking forward to that so there will not be any complains when I take her into different places like restaurants and stores. Service Dogs are allowed every place. No more having to leave her in the car.

Keith i progressing. I can definitely see the changes, almost daily there is something different. I am taking him up to Washington to see his  kids the end of Feb. My friend is going to take us in her car. We are taking her dog and Freckles as ell. She will stay in a motel since there are also two dogs and two cats living at Craig's house.

Cottoncandy

Hi Buddies...just testing again..see if color will work

Cottoncandy

I see it didn't...hope everyone is having goog day...I walked a mile...wanted to walk another...but was too cold.....

Cottoncandy

...wow...better get off here

jane

Another gloomy day here...with a kind of drizzle and that's not nice at 25 degrees!

Jeanne...The click on new posts takes me to to the top of the page, too, and not to the exact first new post.  I guess that's the new and improved...NOT!...upgrade.  I, too, have to scroll down to find the first new post.

Darlene...great you could get out for a walk, even with your cold spell.  I just can't walk outside here when it's 25 and some places have ice on their sidewalks.  I'm so afraid of a fall.

Sue...you are so faithful in your walking.  I wish I enjoyed it.

Mary...good to see you...hope you get to see the sunshine soon, too.  I don't know where it's hiding.  :coolsmiley:

Sharon...hope your PT is helping.

Marilyn...glad you've got someone in to help you clean and someone to drive you and K to Washington.

Alpiner...hope all is going great in CA for you.

I did get out for a needed haircut. It really grew a lot in these 3 weeks.  I then got my BP script at WalMart and some groceries, but, as always, had to go to the other grocery store here in town for things WalMart doesn't carry.  I wanted to get some things in for the weekend, since I assume they'll be busy with customers getting ready for Super Bowl parties.  I saw one woman go out with a cart with 6 or 8 cases of beer. She must be expecting a LOT of people... :idiot2:

Re being at the top of the page - I have bookmarked a S&F page where I click on something like Show New Replies to my Posts.  Usually that takes me to the top of the last page of postings.  It may be at the top of a very long page.  But on the left-hand size, right above the name of whoever posted the top post on that page, there's a box that says "Go Down".  I click on that, and it takes me down to the Quick Reply box (which is where I type my message).  Then I only have to scroll up one or two messages to the last ones I haven't read. Check to see if you have that.

Hi Gals.  It is 2 AM but I slept so much today, I can't get to sleep.  Last night I tossed and turned and hurt so bad, I couldn't sleep and was afraid to take more meds till John said it was okay at 7AM.  Then I slept off and on all day.  My PT had worked me out pretty hard yesterday. The nurse came today and gave me advise on meds and icing.

John picked up cooked ribs at the grocery today for tonight. Was a nice change.  I go to my primary dr. tomorrow for a recheck. Doubt he'll do much.

Jeanne, John wants to go to the independent care because of his eye problems. I think I will be happier there too.  Did I mention that I discovered a friend from HH had moved there?  Had a lovely chat with her yesterday.

I hope everyone stays in and safe from the corna virus. I'm not going out much, so think I will be safe.

Marilyn, I think you were the one with nerve pain in your foot & leg--ask your dr to prescribe Gabepentin for you. It really helped when I had sciatica, etc last summer.

Jane & Sue, stay in out of the bad weather.
All for now.  If I don't post often, it is because of pain.  Sharon

Marilyn

Sharon I already take Gabapentin.

SCFSue

Good morning, Every  Buddy.  I've had breakfast, dressed for the library and Kroger shopping.  Eddie will be here to pick me up about 9:00 or a bit later.  I have hot coffee waiting for him and we'll chat a bit before going to the library and Kroger.  If I don't get too many groceries, I may ask if he'd like to go out to lunch at a nearby place we like.

OOps, he just drove up.  I'll talk to you later today.
Sue

Afternoon, Babes...
It's been snowing most of the day, but not accumulating much as it's mid 30s.  I did get out for a couple errands and picked up some stew meat to make veg beef soup tomorrow.

Darlene..Michael. seems to think that blank page that takes us way up to the top is a Safari issue.  I may try another browser on my iPad.

Jane

JeanneP

But I only have the problem on my Desk top so don't use Safari on it.
Sharon. I didn't realize that John have eye problems with his eyes. He seems to do a lot of Bridge Playing. Must wear good glasses.
Hope you having a better day. I emailed my Daughter about the Drug you mentioned regarding her legs and feet pains. She will have to ask her Doctor if a proscription. I don't know how many pills she takes now.
JeanneP

Jeanne..if only happening on your desktop, perhaps try a different browser.

We're supposed to finally see the sun today..it's been awhile since we have.

Happy Oneth of February!

Good morning, Buddies.  It's chilly here this morning and I'm still sitting here in my P.J's.  I have cleaned up the kitchen and read the morning paper, but I need to get dressed and outside for my morning walk.  I'll pull out a heavier jacket for the walk as it's colder than usual.  Nothing like a cold morning in Brunswick, Maine, though!

I hope Every Buddy is feeling well this morning.  Stay warm and enjoy your day!
Sue

SharonE

Hi Gals. I slept fairly well last night. Need to go do my exercises. I've been bad about doing them.

Jeanne, his eyes aren't critical now, but may be soon. He's convinced he's going blind, but I don't think so.

It snowed some in Charlotte yesterday, but mostly rained. John took me to the Dr. He thought everything was fine except some blood things. Took some blood to test again.

It's been around 45 or 50 here most of the day.

Marilyn, I would talk to the Dr. about an alternative. Robaxin is similar.  Jeanne, I would definitely suggest it to your daughter.

My knee is killing me. Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned.  Sharon

We have had 2 hectic days .  There was a leak in the master bathroom sink . Husband Norm tried to replace the faucet . He thought it was installed but then it was leaking again .  The water was turned off yesterday afternoon & then again today .  Its off now because we are waiting for sealant to dry . I'm not going to church tomorrow morning because I haven't showered since Thursday & I need to shampoo my hair badly . Norm will go because he teaches a Bible class .  I hope I can go tomorrow evening .  It was 81F here today.... I really need a shower !!  Norm had one Friday afternoon , so not as stinky as I must be !

maryz

Oh, alpiner!  What a pain! I think I'd have been in a motel by now - at least long enough to get a good shower and hair wash.  Hope it gets fixed soon.

We actually had enough here to get a bridge game started last night - not for very long, and not great.  But definitely there's some potential there.

I won't be watching, but Happy Super Bowl, Buddies. I hope your team wins, whichever one it might be.

Good morning, Every Buddy.  I've spent the last hour outside in the chilly weather waiting for my usual ride to SS and Church, but Olyne didn't show up and I finally came back inside.  Yesterday the men's basketball team played a late afternoon game and I'm guessing that her grandson and his wife went to the game and left Olyne to baby sit.  They live in north Alabama.

So I'm going to get out of my church clothes and find something to read.  Eddie took me to the library on Friday, so I have several books just waiting for me.

I hope every buddy is feeling well this morning.  I have the usual drippy nose, but no other symptoms, so I'm using a lot of Kleenex!

I hope Every Buddy is well and enjoying a quiet, peaceful Sunday.
Sue

alpiner1

Finally the water is turned on & I got a shower & shampoo !  I feel so much better !  I just turned on the dishwasher too !

maryz

"When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it.  You just learn how to go on without them. But always keep them safely tucked in your heart."

jane

HURRAH for water for Alpiner!

Sue...bummer that Olyne didn't let you know she couldn't come...and you had to wait outside in the cold.

Mary...hurrah for a possible 4 for bridge.  I'm glad for our four....and I'm the youngest!! :2funny: Two are well into their 80s and the third is 95.

I actually have "stuff" going on for the next three days...need to go to the bank today here in town to redeem EE bonds and tomorrow to one in Dbq to go over finances there and do some shopping at Lowe's, Ulta, and who knows what else I might find in the "city".  :2funny:

I'm really enjoying Netflix...Virgin River series based on Robyn Carr's book series.  The nephews got it all set up for us while Raymond was sick and I really am enjoying it now that football season is over.

I can't seem to get into watching college basketball this year, so I've been watching hockey.   :coolsmiley:

The Iowa Caucus is tonight, and I'm not going...I don't understand how it works and I'm not one to try and convince other people to my point of view.  The relief will be the phone calls will stop and, I hope, all the ads.

The game last night was a good one...and I'm happy for the KC coach.  The half-time show is being raved about...I, uh...discovered I'm too old to watch pole dancing.   :P

Have a good first week of February!

jane

SCFSue

Jane, REALLY?  Not up for pole dancing?  I had to laugh when I saw your post.  I didn't watch any of the play off games, so didn't see it--but what a tacky thing for women to do!  I'm imagining the gals who were doing the dancing in very abbreviated clothing!  Yuck!

It's not quite as cold this morning as last week.  So I'm off soon for my morning walk after I put a load of wash in the washer.  I'll have to dig out a warmer jacket than usual though as it is still nippy out there.

My trash men have been here, unloaded my barrels and driven on.  I brought the tubs up the driveway, so that chore is out of the way.

I hope every Buddy has a good day.  Take care and stay warm!

Sue...and the woman doing the dancer was JLo...and her daughter was there singing with her, I guess.  The gals I meet for coffee sometimes were as aghast as I was at the porn show/strip club extravaganza.
 Of course, we're all 60 +.

It's a beautiful day here...near 50 and sunshine!!  I can hear the snow avalanching off the roof, so that's a good thing.

jane

maryz

Sue, I'm surprised it's not warmer at your place.  It's supposed to be near 70 here today.  Way too warm for February!

From what I read in on-line posts, a lot of us didn't much care for the half-time show ... even a few folks who weren't over 60.  Not an issue for me, since I didn't see it anyway.

jane, did you continue watching Northern Exposure?  Did you like it?

Nothing going on for me this week.  I hope everybody has some good and/or interesting plans.  And that Sharon is beginning to feel better.

Hugs to all the Buddies!

Mary...yes, watch a bit of Northern Exposure every once in a while. I'm really caught up in Virgin River on Netflix.

I'm getting 1099s downloaded and printed and collected as they come in the mail.  That's ONE big thing that's nice about being here all winter....I don't have 3 MONTHS of mail to go through!  I always hated that job...trying to find the important stuff and tax stuff, especially.  Easy Peasy this year.

I stopped in for a latte with some women friends who used to be in the knit group and got caught up on the local gossip...one man in a couple we used to travel with in the bank club had a heart attack a month or so ago..and then 4 by pass surgery and then last week a stroke, so is in the hospital in CR for treatment and rehab...his wife was always the frail one...a brittle diabetic who's had both hips, both knees, and shoulder replacements.

Off to finish up laundry and read some and file these forms I just printed out.

SCFSue

Good morning, Every Buddy!  It's chilly here this morning, but expected to warm up shortly.  I've had breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen, but am not dressed for my walk yet.  I'm hoping Tim comes home soon from their trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.  I have a lot of paper work that we need to go over and make decisions about! I need to talk to my accountant about filing my tax statements, etc.

Alpiner, lucky you to have your 3 sons nearby.  I also have 3 sons, but only one lives here in Alabama--and he's been down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.  I need to get my tax items together for my accountant and I'd like him to be here to check over my paper work.

Not much else to report today.  It is a bit warmer today and will be pleasant for my morning walk.  I try to get at least 20-30 minutes of walking outside--it's all up hill for 3 blocks and down hill for the last 2.

Have a nice day, Every Buddy.

Alpiner say Happy Birthday to you hubby from me. My birthday is also the 6th.

My friend Jo is taking us out to Happy Hour at a new place in Coos Bay. She will take her dog and I will take Freckles. The place has a 5$ menu during Happy Hour. And Keith is going too.

Freckles an I are visiting the Cancer Center today, where we will visit  with those  in the Chemo room and the waiting room, as well as the staff. Everyone looks forward to the dogs visits and they especially love to see Freckles.

Good evening, everyone.  Happy Birthday to Marilyn and Alpiner's husband. Hope you all have a good time celebrating.  Sue, hope Tim comes home soon.

It's that time of the year for all the paperwork and IRS stuff. I'm getting it in gradually, but don't have it all yet. It's hard for me to sit long, so not looking forward to it.

My cleaning girl was here today. Really needed it, since I can't do much.

I'm still having trouble sleeping, so I spend a lot of time during the day on the couch sleeping.  Doesn't help with night time. Not much more going on here.  Hi to everyone. Sharon

SCFSue

Good morning, Every Buddy.  Tim came over yesterday to look over the paper work I've been putting together for my accountant.  I thought he and Kris were going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, but they went to Key West for a week.  He took Kris to the place we lived on the Navy Base there.  They enjoyed their trip and had a good time.  I was very glad to see him and he took the paper work I have already saved home to look over.  We'll contact my accountant when he gets that finished.

Not much happening here today, although I've had a phone call from one of our Wednesday bridge players who was supposed to host the bridge club and she's going out of town.  So I have to get busy on the telephone and call those players and get a sub.https://www.seniorsandfriends.org/Smileys/alive/embarrassed.gif

I need to get dressed, start calling the bridge club and look for a sub!  Have a nice day, Every Buddy.

Sue
