Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Mary. Glad you got moved. Surprised though that they did it. Maybe you had not moved a lt of stuff into the studio Appt.
Sad to read about Mary Ann passing. I enjoyed her daily postings for a long time she kept the forums busy. I think she went peacefully. I had a feeling when they sent her home that she would not get over her illness.
she kept her family all connected and they are all going to miss her. She really knew her computers. Far more than I ever will.

not done a thing today. Wish my back would get back to normal. Never had this problem before. Must have moved wrong someway. I did clean up the yard today hoping that bending over may do the trick. Talked to a man about taking care of grass for the summer.

Going to try and get to store tomorrow. Out of a few things.dish Soap . oil. tooth cleaner things like that. O.K on food.

from SHARON:

We move May 15, The auctioneer will pick up stuff on May 13. Salvation Army comes May 6.  Has to be packed first.  We decided today to switch back to a villa. Not the one we originally wanted, but close. I picked out the paint color for the accent wall today at Lowes. It   wasn't too crowded and everyone obeyed the 6 ft. distance. Some had on masks and some didn't. John and I of course did.

Mover will do all packing. He is also going to pack the POD to send to Brian with his things and Jonathan"s. It will stay in storage until they feel safe to have it delivered.

By changing to a villa,  we will be able to keep Bunny there. Hurrah.

I hope you don't go crazy with the quarantine. We're too busy. Have things scheduled nearly every day till move.

John has learned that I have my limits and when I reach them, I go lie down. Not what I'd  like to do, but my back won't let me do anything else.

Glad you all are keeping safe and walking.

Our county has had a few deat hs and a lot o cases of the virus. Now they are opening the beaches and other things.  Stupid.

Stay safe everyone.  Sharon

Mary...hurrah on the staff getting you moved!

I'm up early for me and will get to WalMart by 6:00 for my week's supplies.

It's to be nice today, then more t'storms coming.   :-\

Stay safe and healthy!

Good morning, Every  Buddy.  I've been up for a while, read the paper, fixed oatmeal and ate it, and cleaned up the kitchen.  Not much else going on here today.  I do want to get outside for my morning walk and will go after I post here.

Yesterday afternoon our church organist and her hubby came by (with their masks on) to bring me some cookies they'd made.  I think they were giving them to other "old" ladies like me who are stuck pretty much inside.  I do plan to walk outside shortly, but hope I don't encounter anyone else walking.

Not much else going on here today.  Tim came by yesterday and helped me change the sheets on my bed.  He's canceled my Molly Maids for a while because he is afraid of the new ones spreading the virus.  My usual Molly Maid has not been working for several weeks.

I hope Every Buddy is feeling well today and that you have no contact with others who might have the virus.

Marilyn

Good morning every Buddy. I was out to Safeway  during the  senior time period to get Keith's meds and some cat food that I forgot to buy when I shopped yesterday. I don't have anything else planned for today except to walk Freckles.

I hope everyone is doing well and wearing their masks. I also wear  gloves. I bought a box of 200 so I can throw them away after each use.

jane

I got my lazy bones out of bed at 5:00 am and was at WalMart before they opened for old people's hour at 6:00 and was on my way home by 6:30!  I'm set for the week now.

Stay safe and healthy, Buddies!

Jane

I also ventured out to wal mart today...with mask and gloves...most people wore them....Didn't get to walk today..so hopefully tomorrow...we have went from winter to summer...just like that ...high humity and 90 degrees...hope all are staying healthy and safe from the C Virus...

jane

Morning, Buddies.  It looks like some sunshine out there and if it warms up some more, I may try a short walk.  My knees are wonky this morning, so I won't go far.  My yard looks nice now that Matt came and did the mowing and raked out the dead stuff from the winter.

Our hospital here was one of the ones in the state to get some sort of quick test for Covid-19.  I don't know all the particulars, but I'm guessint it's for health care workers and those with symptoms.

Several hospitals in CR are cutting salaries of executives and having other layoffs because of the lack of "elective" surgeries and hospitalizations for heart attacks, etc.  Medical people say these folks have been scared off by the ER rooms in large cities like NY.

Take care, stay safe and healthy!

Cottoncandy

[/Good morning all...yeah Jane...it's all about the C Virus...other people with health emergencies are afraid to go to ER..if they would even be treated...the hospitals get more money if it C Virus.....and I do know it's a serious virus but shouldn't not treat other people...at least that's the case where I live...I was given some over ripe bananas...so have b bread in the oven...yummy....Hi to every one..stay safesize]

Good morning, Jane and Darlene, and Every Buddy looking in this morning.  I've had breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen.  I need to do some laundry today and hope to get it started soon.  Not much else going on here today.  I'll go outside to walk shortly and hope I don't see anyone while walking.  Tim called me a bit ago and told me he's having problems with his foot and won't be coming over today.  Yesterday our church organist and her hubby stopped by to bring me some cookies, but had on masks and didn't come in.  Our church has not been meeting except for a funeral which was only attended by family members. My friend, Marilyn's husband has died and they had a funeral for him with only their family.  He had dementia.

Bill has sent me several books to read and is planning to send more.  He, Dawn, and Andy are well and mostly working from home.

I hope all is well with Every Buddy and no one has the virus.  Take care, Every Buddy, and keep us posted.

Margaret and Jesse were allowed in to bring the rest of my furniture and clothes, etc.  That's after temperature check, donning masks, and coming in a back door closer to the new apartment.  It's looking good!  She even got some bird feeders hung outside the windows. They're wonderful (Margaret & Jesse, not the bird feeders)!  All seems to be going well with the new baby, too.

Stay well and keep up the social distancing and hand-washing, Buddies!

I went to walmarts yesterday after picking up my laundry. Was about 10 am wasnt to many people in. Girls at the enterence with cleaned carts. And the whole store is so clean. All worker wearing mask and gloves. I would rather just have my hands without but we'll sprayed. Touch to many things with the gloves .that many have touched

Picked up all the face and body cleaners I needed. 2 of every thing. Forgot my teeth cleaner. Didn't need many groceries. Forgot oil.so need to go back . They are closing at 8:30 each night most all the big stores are.

Seems like 1 spend the same every time I go.this month  looks like $300 but I am well supplied .most ptobably won't need much of anything next month.
Cooking all day today. Enough meals for 7 days. Just got the messy kitchen cleaned up.
I am sleeping so good and lots of good dreams. At least 9 hours .
Back is much better.

Good morning, Jeanne and Every Buddy looking in this morning. I've read the paper, cleaned up the kitchen after my breakfast of oatmeal, and am planning a day of reading as it is dark and dreary here this morning.  I have new to me books which Bill has sent and others that I've received from Tim and Jon.

Not much else going on here today.  It was pouring buckets last night about midnight--and that woke me up.  This morning everything is wet and more rain has been suggested by our weather people in Montgomery.  I have plenty of books to read, so that will be a good thing!

I hope Every Buddy is well and not near anyone with the virus.  Our local hospital has a lot of cases--and most people I know are staying inside.  I'd planned a nice long walk today, but the rain has put the kibosh on that!  Hopefully we'll get a little sunshine this afternoon.

Take care, Buddies, and keep us posted!

Afternoon, Buddies!

Another gloomy, dreary, drizzly day here with temps in the 50s.  Nothing much going on here...noise outside where they're replacing various poles with new taller ones and then connecting all sorts of lines to the new ones.

I went out to Farm Fleet yesterday afternoon, but they didn't have the kind of rain gauge I wanted, so I'll have to wait and maybe check at WalMart on next grocery trip there.

Nothing exciting here, either...just laundry of towels and sheets and isn't that exciting??   :crazy2:

Back to my Ipad to read and play some word games to keep the old brain working.

Stay safe and healthy!

Raining here also.
Jane. I am going to try to go over to our Farm and fleet also.
I have found a small leak  in the roof of front bathroom. Think rain is backing up from the gutter on my patio roof have leaves  in it. The leak stopper on sale for good price so will get a gal and patch up until this thing gets where  people working.

I like F and fleet for jeans and I need some.
Never tried games on iPad . Have a couple on desktop. Not very good on games
gGKids do better than me.

Good morning, Every Buddy.  I've been up for a while and have had breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen.  I need to put a load of laundry in the washer and get that going.  I went outside to get my newspaper and my cute young neighbor was outside watering his yard, so we had a nice chat.  Our newspaper is full of depressing news, but I'm hoping will get more positive soon.  There is a lot of corona virus at our local hospital.  The local nursing homes have had a number of deaths, might be connected to the virus.  I'm planning a walk soon.  I don't expect to see anyone while I'm walking.

I hope Every Buddy is well and able to get outside and able to shop if needed.  Take care and keep us posted.

Glad to hear folks checking in.  I'm enjoying my new place - love the additional space. Plus Margaret put out some bird feeders, and it's fun to watch them, too (mostly cardinals, so far). I should get a new double bed about 1 May, and I'll definitely enjoy having that extra sleeping space - I really don't like the twin bed.

It seems like we are all doing well so far - hope it stays that way. I'll love it when folks are allowed in here again.  I REALLY need a haircut...I'm almost ready to start wearing a hat.  Glad you folks are getting rain (instead of snow). It seems to rain nearly every 2-3 days here, but at least it's frequently at night.

Glad that folks are reading or knitting or cooking or doing whatever it takes to keep them safe and at home.  Hugs to all!

Hi everyone. I am sleeping so much better since I moved out of the master bedroom two days ago. I just can't sleep well sleeping with Keith. I sleep very lightly so as to hear him. Oft times I don't sleep but maybe an hour or two it seems. So now Freckles is sleeping with me in my double bed in a night quite and dark room.

Also the cats have urinated so many times in that back bedroom that the ammonia smell  burns my lungs. Even wearing my cpap mask I have to put my head under the covers so as not to smell the urine. The cats have never been allowed in my room. I want to have all the carpets removed but Keith  doesn't want to  spend the money.

Sofrry about the complaints. My cleaning gal is trying to get the smell out of that room.

JeanneP

Marilyn.
Now go ahead and tear those carpets. That like pouring Ammonia on the Carpet. Will have a problem with lungs in a short time. You are handling the house and finances just go ahead do it. I can't stand my carpet with just  soiled some. Did not get them cleaned in October. Right now they are not doing it. Sure glad that I replaced some areas in Wood.

MaryZ. I like my big Brass bed but so hard to change sheets etc. I did it yesterday and took  me 30 min. But I think that doing it helped put my back feeling better. I just think I am loosing strength in arms.  I need to turn the Mattress but way to big.Keep thinking will go to a twin but have always had large one. I have a twin in the small bedroom but it is always loaded down with things on it. Had it all so neat back in 2019 and used it a few ti;me. But having that spare room is so easy to dump things in it.
JeanneP

maryz

Marilyn, glad you've moved into the other room. You really need your rest. I think I'd agree about getting rid of the carpets.  Tough suggestion, but don't ask Keith if you can do it - just do it. If he asks, just tell him agreed to have it done. He won't remember otherwise. Unfortunately you've got to learn to lie.

Jeanne, fortunately, I don't have to change the sheets - the staff here does it, once a week or every other week (my choice). And they do all my laundry, so that's not an issue either.

I just made a comment on Facebook on a photo of "our" new baby, so the photo should show up on my page. Those of you on FB should be able to see it. He's really a cutie!

Happy Weekend, Buddies!

Cases seem to be going up in Illinois also. It is close to 40000 people now. With close to 3600 deaths. I just cant understand so many in nursing homes. Now one that already had 32 now had another 47 this past 2 day.  4 dying. how is it getting into those homes. Families are getting lawyers now to bring charges. All over the state a large part of the people sick with it about 20% in nursing homes. Yet they don't come out of their rooms. Country going to learn a lot from this Virus .

I am still going to stay around the house even if they say they want things to open up. Our gov. is sticking to saying NO. But pressure is being put on him..

Good morning, Every Buddy.  It's now 11:00 a.m. and I've read the paper, cleaned up the kitchen and will soon start the washer as I have some clothing that needs to be washed.

Jeanne, we have a lot of the corona virus at our local hospital.  The local nursing homes with elderly people are having deaths fairly frequently.  I do not know how many, but more than usual.  The nurses at those facilities are stressed out with someone dying daily.

It's bright and sunshiny today and since I haven't seen anyone out walking, I'm going to walk several blocks down hill and come back up.  Most of the young people in my neighborhood are still going out to work.

I hope Every Buddy is well and able to avoid the virus.  Take care, Buddies, and stay safe.

FROM OUR SHARON

Mary your new room sounds great.. I love to watch the birds.
And I agree entirely with what you told Marilyn. She's put up with it long enough and he won't remember for long if at all.

We have about 3/4 of the kitchen divided up between what we'll keep and what we'll give away. Of course, John wants to throw everything out that we won't be using. Stupid.

Jane, hope you got your walk in in the sun.

Marilyn, you really do have to stand up for yourself with Keith..

John is ready to start in again, so have to go.  Stay in and stay safe.

We ordered delivery of our groceries yesterday and they never came!!  Later.

Sharon

It's a much nicer day today, and for the first time in too long all the joints aren't throbbing.

I'd been thinking of a ride to use one of my cars after reading it's not good to let them sit too long without driving.  So, my car and I drove up to a little town 10 miles or so north of me.  I was surprised to see quite a few fields have been planted.

Nothing going on in that little town either. :crazy2:

Governor says elective surgeries can begin again Monday.  It sounds as if she's going to let the other restrictions expire next Thursday.  But, who knows!

I did walk outside...not all the way to town...so much digging and milling of the rod that the dust was flying, and from 2 blocks away I began sneezing.  So, turned the old body around and came back home.  I do have my screen doors open and windows here in back of the house.

Take care, stay safe and HEALTHY!

Jane

Marilyn

Hello every Buddy. I turned my mattress of my double bed this morning. I didn't flip it over I just turned it around in ahalf circle so I will be sleeping on the other side. I hope I explained that in a way that you understood what I wast trying to say.

I did 2 loads of laundry this morning and have walked Freckles twice in this rain. At least it isn't pouring just a light rain.

My cleaning lady  suggested that her partner could work on the carpets a little at a time. removing a section each time. The master bedroom is plywood under the rug it is built on as an addition to the original house, which has hardwood floor under the carpet. The family room is also an add on.

jane

Marilyn... hope the plywood and hardwood under that carpet isn't ruined or soaked, too.

Absolutely beautiful day here...sunny, no wind and 70 degrees.  I could take this all summer long!  I did get a walk in and things are quite quiet around.

The Governor is suppose to make more announcements tomorrow, but I do know that elective surgeries can start up tomorrow. Our hospitals are really hurting with no elective surgeries on the schedules.

I don't know if she'll open everything on Thursday.  It'll be interesting.  Several of our restaurants have been closed entirely, and just those offering curbside or drive through are open.

I did enjoy sitting on my back porch for the first time this year.

Take care, stay safe and HEALTHY, Dear Buddies!

FROM SHARON:

Believe it or not, I've sold our triple dresser and my cheval mirror with the jewelry inside. I've made about $1,000 from FB sales.  Not bad.

We finished the kitchen yesterday and just have to move things into piles for each child.. Jonathan is getting so much, I don't know if he will be able to find room for it. He is a budding chef and delivers meals to people who can't or won't cook and occasionally caters for people, so he got a lot of the kitchen ware that I thought he could use. If he can't, maybe Monica and Thomas or Scottie will want some of it. Anyway, it's out of the house and not thrown away.

I'm glad it is warming up in IA.  It is in the 70's here and sunny.

Hope everyone stays well and wears their masks.  Sharon

jane

Another ordinary day here.  I do need to go get a prescription refill.  I had called my medical person and asked for 90 days instead of having to run over there every 30 days for my BP Med.

I'll get my groceries while I'm out and take Ray's car for a bit of a drive.

I don't have any idea what our Governor will change in her daily briefing today.

Stay safe and healthy!

JeanneP

Just don't know what I want o do today. Got to quit showering and putting on lounge clothes making it that if I want to run to store I have to change clothes again. Don't know why as notice some in pjs at Walmart last week.
I need to take my car for a long drive also. Still full of gas. Gas is under $2 now fact $1.49 at a couple of places.

Woke up at 5am Hungary today ,I got up ate breakfast and then went back to bed for a hour. That's a first. Will be mixed up all day now. Feels like time for lunch now.

Sharon. Good sale on line. Now will the be coming to pick it up?

No estate sales going right now. They  put on my e.mail most every week in May. People moving out of town. I like estate sales. Lots of people from other countries returning home after teaching or attending univ. of Ill. I collected lots of Asian things this way.
Time to move.
