Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Kelly

It is 54F or 12C here and a nice sunny day

Marytx  here are several runs of Jessie.   Do not have Zoe on a site to link, but she seldom finished a run  :)

Check it full screen.  The one was a demonstration in a shopping center.

Jessie was a natural and so professional on the agility trials.  I've been to a few trials and enjoyed seeing Jessie perform in the video.  Zoe was natural at having fun.  The trial you showed sometime back of Zoe doing her agility act kept me laughing.

Yesterday Larry and I took a leisure day and visited the village of Seaside.  Every house is a different color and each picket fence is a little different.  It was so crowded with tourists (including us) we couldn't find any parking so just took some photos from the car.  We want to go back and look around when the tourist season is over.  There is another little village called Watercolor that has all pastel shades of houses.  Many people that live in Seaside have a view of the Gulf from the top of their house.  The town was hit by a hurricane several years ago but there was very little damage as the houses have to be a certain distance from the Gulf, although some of the dunes were washed away.

I can't get vimeo.com to come up unless I sign up for it.

Now it seems like when traveling through California I went past a place called something like that. Had different coloured homes. Not very big. Can't think what the name was now.
JeanneP

JeanneP

I think that in California it was called "Surf side" Much larger than the Florida Seaside I think. Houses quite large. Have to win the lottery to own one.

Jean, a great tour.  I was expecting small cottages, but pretty large and impressive.  Would be a great place to take a walk, and very little climbing.   Just had the air conditioner man here for annual service, good thing it is 88 and a bit too hot, so thermostat  set on 74 and staying inside.  Was out early with some yard work, but now play/sleep time.

JeanneP I log in to enter a video but should be no need to do so to view a link posted here.

Mary Ann

Jean, I enjoyed the motor tour of Seaside.  I think I saw something on  TV one year about the town.  I agree with Jack that some of the houses are quite large, and would be expensive.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

Thanks Mary Ann and Jack for your comments.  JeanneP, you don't have to sign up to watch videos so I don't know why you had a problem.

Since today is Memorial Day or Remembrance Day as some call it, I have posted a video I did in Ocala.  I am missing Lynn's photos.  I imagine he took some pictures today of Memorial sights in his area.  We haven't been here long enough to know what is going on.

jackwv

Jean that is such a moving tribute.   Ocala has some class, am sure you miss it but it appears you have found an excellent new home.

Out in the back yard thought I would do a short video on the cicada.  I mention the noise and the IPhone did not pick up the volume so on Vimeo  turn up the sound to get an idea of what I will have for a month or so.

Check it out full size, but do not look at all if you hate bugs   ;)

Jack. I like the looks of that plant. Wish I could get it go grow around my outdoor shed and at the back  of the house.  Is it a fast spreader. keeps all year.  I have stopped putting any mulch out anywhere. I put it around the wooden shed and had to replace all the wood for about 6 inch up. Termites they said had gotten there from the mulch. Not to put it within 8 ft of your foundations. So now got River Rock in most areas.

Did you read the article that I put in yesterday in one of the other forums? it was telling about the 5 Veterans burial grounds that had been damaged Saturday mornings. People had run truck and cars all through them breaking down all the crosses. Not all in one area but different towns. Wonder why people would do that.  Also graffiti had been sprayed all over the Vietnam Memorials.

Fury as vandals and looters desecrate veterans graveyards and historic battlefields across three states on Memorial Day weekend

A Vietnam War memorial in the Venice area of Los Angeles has been extensively defaced by graffiti
In Kentucky, a driver deliberately drove across grave sites marked by white wooden crosses
Looters ripped up parts of Virginia's Petersburg National Battlefield in an apparent search for relics

Jack, I don't believe I have ever been in an area with so many cicadas.  They'll be gone soon.

jackwv

JeanneP I emailed a photo of the tree, getting tall but not spread out and is really not a shade tree, I should have planted several more.

Jean, and I laugh when I think back about our reaction on seeing one large beetle in our room in Florida years ago.

I am not frightened by the cicada but when swarms flew in my direction and several landed on me, I decided that was enough.

I then got out the hose and washed many of them off the tree (want to share with my neighbors)  hope they do not all come back.  They can damage young trees when they cut into the limb and lay their eggs.

Mary Ann

Jack, take it the cicadas do not kill your pear tree; if so, that would be a shame.

As long as any bug is on the screen and not by me, they do not bother me.  Same with snakes.

Mary Ann

Shirley

Jack, I have a Cleveland pear in front & back yards, planted at the same time but are slightly different in shape.  The one in front grew taller while the one in back is rounder, not as round as the Bradford pear but same leaves, blossoms & as dense.  These both give lots of shade, we trimmed up as they grew so can walk (or mow) under with ease.  I left a message with the video, great job of capturing the sound.

Jean, I also left messages with both of your videos.  Such a neat little village, can picture people keep adding rooms UP as the family grew.  Most look like they have gone to the metal or other type siding instead of wood. Expect that would be smart in a damp climate.  Thanks... and I enjoyed the Memorial Day again!

FlaJean

Thanks for your comments, Shirley.  No, all the siding on the Seaside houses appeared to be wood.  Maybe the coloring or the sun in the photos made it look like metal or vinyl but you could see that a few of the houses needed a little paint retouching.  We were close to the houses as the streets are very narrow.

Roses and irises remind me of visiting their gardens in May last year.  They might have been in full bloom at the same parks this May too.  I made a short slideshow with their past shots, adding new rhododendrons at the hospital garden I stay now. I used this time the slideshow program in the PHOTO App on MacBook computer.

Mary Ann

Sato, seeing your flowers is a good way to start my morning.  They are beautiful, as always.

Mary Ann

jackwv

Sato your photos are always worth a second look, and hope soon that you will be out taking new.   Great slideshow.

FlaJean

Sato, I loved your video and the music.  You take such beautiful photos.

Shirley

Came back before shutting down.  Sato, I wanted to make sure I saw your latest video & see I did, left a message in there for you.  Beautiful flowers... your photos always give me the urge to paint.  I used to paint flowers a lot but sold the paintings before realizing it would be nice to have photos to remember them by. Thanks for the show!

Good night, all, so nice & cool I will open my sliding door & enjoy the fresh air.  I know it is a mistake because Tom & Tiger spend the whole night last time I did it, begging at the door to come in & have a snack.  They lay out by the pool all day instead of staying in the house.... and lay out there most of the night... lazy bums.

Sato

While I stay in hospital, my sweetheart has been busy for everything.  But she managed to find the time to go taking photos at her favorite spots.  And she brought me her photograph works in USB memory.  I made a slideshow of them as follows.

Mary Ann

Sato, you and your wife make a good team with the photographs.  Thank her for me for providing you with the photos for your video.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

Sato, that was lovely.  Please give your wife my compliments.  Beautiful work.

jackwv

Sato, I have often complemented you on your work with flowers, but think that group of photos is equal to (if not better)   Lovely display.

Joy

Sato,  beautiful video of your wife's photos.  You are a good team.

Thanks for sharing.
