Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Sato, I'm glad you were able to get the weather gizmo.  The last I knew about that, it was only available for US states.  I'll have to check further and see where else we can go with it.

Click for Corinth, New York Forecast

FlaJean and Jeanne Lee, thanks for your messages to my new weather & time sticker.  I owe it to Oldiesmann.
The location is shown as "Tokyo".  I live in Yokohama city which is located southwest of Tokyo and a big independent city.
Jeanne Lee, would you please clear that, too?

When I put the vase which arranged Princess Margaret on the table in my living room, I remembered it. I made many works which I embroidered on before I still began the Internet.

Sachiko, your embroidery work is beautiful.  I've done cross stitch but I'd never want to display it after seeing yours.  Thanks for showing us your works.

Sachiko,   I love embroidered work and yours is just beautiful..   I used to do a lot of cross-stitch pieces, but have not done any for a long time.  I find doing cross-stitch is a lot like making a painting.  It just all of a sudden, comes to life.

I still have some pieces of cut-work that my mother did.  I have a lot of doilies that a friend made a tatted edge around them.  And, I still use doilies.  I think they just make everything look "finished".

Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.

Sachiko.  Your Cross Stitch work is beautiful. I never did like to cross stitch. Would knit and crochet. Do some sewing when the girls were small.
Now I do have two framed pieces I did about 30 years ago.  it was done a little different than Cross stitch. I got the kit from a Japanese friend. It was sort of a hook (Think of the type used for rug making) The thread was thicker and you just followed a printed pattern. I like doing it but lost the needles and not seen them in any store.

OH! I did like Rug making. Yours are beautiful. Mine where material that you cut in strips.  We have gotten older and stopped but it doesn't seem like the younger women do that kind of hand work anymore.  They don't have the Homemaking classes in schools now.

Mary Ann, Joy, JeanneP, thank you very much for your comments!
I embroidered them on thin hemp cloth by embroidery thread made in France. And I sometimes wash them. The color does not fade away even if it passes more than 50 years and are beautiful. I do not have energy to embroider it on now.

Sachiko3

JeanneP, I loved to sewing. When there were not many ready-made clothes, I sewed all the clothes except the business by oneself in winter like now. I also sewed the clothes of my daughter.

I saw the photo of J R WEEMS in "Photos Old and New" and remembered I visited the Western U.S.

In September, 2012, I went to Phoenix in California. And I visited Sedna while looking at the forest of the pillar cactus from Phoenix by bus. Sedna was surrounded by the individual-shaped red rocky mountains.

And I made the video, “.From Phoenix to Sedona" .

Sachiko, a wonderful trip, recall your posting and noted my comment 3 years ago

Sachiko I viewed all of your photos, and loved the detail, but appreciated even more the slide show and video. Must have been a wonderful trip.

I would now add that you traveled first class and that was my kind of food.

Mary Ann

Sachiko, your video brought back memories because my dad and I took trips to Arizona twice.  My dad's first teaching job was in Flagstaff Arizona so he liked to go back to the state once in a while.  I liked Oak Creek Canyon which is between Phoenix and Sedona.

Jack, Mary Ann, thank you very much for your comments.
I can see it with nostalgia later when I make the video about my trip in this way and can remember those days.
I prepare the pages into my site, and those videos are listed, and it is my pleasure it passes for years, and to see.

FlaJean

Sachiko, I enjoyed your video and remember your trip.  We have been to the west several times and enjoy that beautiful scenery.

Sachiko3

Jean, thank you very much for your comment. I want to visit Florida once again.

JeanneP

Jack.  Did you go over into the "Medical Corner" and see the Video that Marilyn put in showing the dogs in the 4th. July Parade? Cute.  A lot of dogs like yours in it.  He did a good job making it.
JeanneP

JeanneP  thanks, I did go to the discussion and viewed.   Several older Goldens, like Jessie, and she was once a Therapy Dog.

Sachiko.  Husbands vegetables Look so good. My SIL has peppers and tomatoes now growing but his peppers never do well at all.  What are you going to cook with them? Or is husband doing the cooking still.?

JeanneP, thank you very much for your comment about our vegetables. My husband does not plant peppers. But he cooks, too. Particularly, he is cooking every meal after I suffered from heart failure.
I will make the video about our vegetables, and I will post it here.

There were two crape myrtles in my garden in Yokohama. As the video was found, I think that I introduced it last year, but I”ll post it.

The flowers of two crape myrtles are in full bloom in my garden. And some white roses of Sharon bloom. In addition, a kind of the orang “Iyokan” produces a lot of fruits.

jackwv

Sachiko, the crape myrtles are beautiful.   Hope you are able to get out into the garden and enjoy.

Joy

Sachiko,   your yard is just beautiful, especially the Crepe Myrtle.  It is so nice to see you posting more and more now.  Hope you continue to feel well and get out more.

Sachiko, the crape myrtle is beautiful.  I think it does not grow in my area, just in the south of the US.  We used to have a lavender Rose of Sharon where I grew up but I have not had one since.

I hope you continue to feel better.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

Sachiko, I really enjoyed your Crepe Myrtles.  We had 11 Crepe Myrtles in our Ocala yard.  Here we are enjoying our neighbors.  They are similar in color to your Crepe Myrtles.

JeanneP

Sachiko.  You must have the best soil in your gardens. Every thing grows to well.

If you are having a summer like we are at the moment you should not be going out into the outdoor right now anyway.  It is still up in the 90s here. I don't even go out until 7pm . Quite nice at night.

I love your Crepe Myrtles & Rose of Sharon, Sachiko..... my mother had huge shrubs of both so they remind me of her.  I do hope your heart problems are fixable like mine, I did enjoy my week in the mountains even if I could not hike like a 16 year old.  I never was a hiker like you & your husband but think that probably had much to do with needing a new aortic valve.  At 81 I guess I can't expect to turn back to a young person, huh?  I go in the last of this month for a routine check (Echo cardiogram & EKG)... my cardiologist thinks I am doing great, he is not much younger so understands some of these problems go along with age & nothing to do with bad heart or blocked arteries.

I tried for a nap but got one of those scam phone calls about my computer.  They hang up fast as soon as I tell them to "get an honest job"...  I didn't check the caller ID first... was expecting a call from the son still in Colorado.  He calls when they go into town & can get cell signal.

Need to have another look at the photos from CO, got to be at least one spectacular one....  ::)

I have had 4 scam calls already today.  A lot more now just not saying anything. Just going to let calls go to answer machine all summer. Getting just to many of them. But now a write up in the paper saying that the no talking ones will still listen to your answer machine as they can now find where the phone is, get a address. So if going away do not say that on machine. Lots of home getting broken into because of that.  Technology is getting out of hand.

Jack, Joy, Mary Ann, Jean, JeanneP, thank you very much for your comments.
These crape myrtles bloomed really beautifully last year. We soled our house in Yokohama last year, and this garden is not our thing anymore, too. But I remember it when made for a video in this way and can look at the garden with nostalgia.

Sachiko3

JeanneP, there are some scam calls in the United States. It is in Japan. And it enters time for dinner. Even if I take the receiver in that time, I say nothing just to merely hear it.
