Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to them both.

I sent Sato an e-mail that I had posted his e-mail and people here were posting messages of encouragement.  He sent an e-mail this morning, thanking everyone and said he would not be able to post here.  I won't send him another e-mail until I hear from him.

I also sent an e-mail to Sachiko, but I do not expect to hear from her.

Mary Ann

Joy

Mary Ann,  glad that you did receive a reply back from Sato.

Really do miss both him and Sachiko.  I am thinking that maybe Sachiko hasn't been in the hospital as long as we think she has.  Maybe she is in a rehab center for therapy and will soon be well enough to get back to posting here.  I hope that might be the case.   It doesn't seem right that we don't see either of their names pop up with their beautiful pictures.

Jack and Jean.... I know we all  are sure looking forward to more of your beautiful pictures, also, now that the weather is getting so much nicer.  Really looking forward to seeing some of Jean's new area.

Today is a beautiful, sunny , warm day here in Central Maryland.

BIG BOX

Mary Ann

Joy, Sato is the one who has said Sachiko is still in the hospital and I think he is now in the hospital himself.  I won't contact him again until I hear from him.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

Mary Ann, I got a short note from Sato.  He said he hoped he would be well soon but can't post for awhile.  I sure hope they both have a complete recovery.  Sachiko seemed so healthy that her illness was a surprise.

Sato

Thank you for all messages from you!  Been getting better day by day.  Thanks to modern medical care and all prayers from you.
The slideshow next was taken by my friend who lives in another ward of YOKOHAMA. Got it today.  Forward it here.  Now in midst of Spring.
Sachiko will be off hospital next week!!

You all are a bad influence... came in for a quick look & been checking links & thinking and see I've spent over an hour already.

Lynn, that is so funny to watch Zoe chasing the car... and such a smart way to exercise her without being on a leash!

So sorry to read that Sachiko is still in the hospital and now Sato in.  My sincere prayers for a full recovery for both and will be watching for their return.  Sato, thanks to your friend for the beautiful photos, great detail and color.

jackwv

Sato thanks for the photos from your friend, hope to soon see your fine work.

Good to hear you and Sachiko are improving and will keep the two of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Kelly

Hi Sato
Good to read your post.

Best wishes to you both.

Sato - very nice photos from your friend.  I snatched the lake view for my desktop.  I hope he won't mind.

Mary Ann

Sato, I enjoyed the video from your friend, but I like your closeups better.

Glad to hear that both you and Sachiko are improving.

Kelly.

Were you home Sunday.  Read where a young Motor Cycle rider got killed again.

On reading the report it read exactly the same as the one when my brother got killed. He was hit the same way. From behind and ran into wall on turn.
So Sad. So many have died in the races.

In a moving tribute she said: ‘We were told that the damage to his brain was too severe for him to ever wake up again. Even if we had waited for the swelling to go down, the damage was too bad.

‘He also wasn’t able to breathe for himself and was kept awake by machines. Myself and his family decided rather than prolong the inevitable, we would turn off his life support machine and donate whatever organs we could.

Lovely day here so back to the park.  The tulips are now in full bloom and in some beds losing the petals.  Here are some of the photos taken tocay.   Check it full screen.

Hi JeanneP
Yes I heard about the passing of Billy Redmayne after a motor cycle racing crash.  He was racing in Scarborough.

So sad to lose ones's life st such a young age.

Kevin

Mary Ann

Jack, I would like to tiptoe through those tulips.  Very pretty.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

Sato, so glad to hear you are getting better day by day.

Jack, that was so enjoyable.  I wish we could grow tulips here but too much trouble.

Shirley

Jack, the tulips are gorgeous!  I was surprised they had the red & white in the same bed.... did not remember them mixing the colors before.  Wonder if they can tell them apart when they dig them up.  I planted tulips one year & not a one came up.  Thanks for taking us for a walk.

I did get a few photos of dogwood blooming in MO but don't have them uploaded to the computer.  I took some photos with my phone & still have not figured how to get them off.... they won't "attach" to e-mail.  I do hate this smart phone.   :idiot2:

jackwv

Mary Ann, Jean, and Shirley thanks.   I tell folks that Jessie gets me up there for a walk, but it may be my taking her.

Shirley at first that bed only had a few red but as they blossomed I was surprised to see the mix.  It is a nice effect.  I also wonder if they can tell the difference when they remove the bulbs.  Each year they remove and sell the bulbs so hope someone does not get a surprise.

MaryTX

Jack, those tulip pictures were gorgeous. My first husband was born and raised in the Skagit Valley of Washington State.  Even 60-70 years ago, it was a major dutch bulb raising area for tulips and daffodils. They would plant them in acre wide plots as far as the eye could see to the east and a mile or so in length with red, then yellow, white, and purple tulips and daffodils.  When they bloomed, it was a sight to see.

As far as someone getting a surprise, last fall my sister purchased a package of 18 "white" tulips and planted them in a circle.  This spring, she ended up with "one" white, several shades of pink, a red and a yellow :)

MaryTX   I would guess the stretch of tulips are only a quarter mile.   Oglebay plants new/purchased bulbs each fall.   After the tulips bloom they pull up the bulbs and sell them.  I never purchased any, too many deer in my neighborhood.   Shame Oglebay has problems with the deer and has to put electric fence around the beds.  They turn them on in the evening.

Posting the link to Deer at the Park and my home, again try it full screen (sorry for some a repeat)

Beautiful!  Thank you.  Some of the deer seem to have short or shorter ears than other. I wonder why.

Mary Ann

Jack, a fun video, thanks.

Mary Ann

MaryTX

Neat video.

Most of them have larger ears than the kind we have around here.  We're in an established part of area, but some of the northern suburbs are really  having problems with deer, bobcats and other wildlife.  These new subdivisions are building in their area, and they don't have anyplace to go unfortunately.

Mary Ann, Bubble and MaryTX thanks.   We are small town and Oglebay  keep the deer that are so interesting for visitors.   There is no hunting so always lots around.

Bubble I do not know about Deers Ears, That rimes,  but know that as we age our ears continue to grow, they claim the cartlledge  still grows and  gravity plays a part.  I have large ears but no help, need hearing aids :)

Jack.  I just love watching that deer Video.  They must have the deer under control there at that park. Does the area have a deer hunting season?
I hate it when its here in Illinois.  They upped the amount that could be killed the last season and I read the did over a hundred thousand .  People keep telling me it has to be done but when I watch that video  I wonder why they can't do what is done in other countries.  Have a food they eat that cuts down on the breeding.  UK have done for years.  I don't see rabbits and squirrels  much anymore around here.  I know that years back in UK they managed the rabbit problem the same way.

Shirley

I left messages on the sites, Jack... love the tulips & the deer!  The first campground I stopped at last week the "host" commented that "they" allowed a bow & arrow hunting season last year & they killed off most of the big bucks & older females, so far he was only seeing young this spring.  Seems like they could control better, what hunters can take & cut off the hunting when the limit is reached.  I'm not sure how they control the breeding but expect it is difficult when an area where humans are, and even other wildlife.  Some areas you find mule deer & white tail together, I think.... Google shows the differences.  Your photos of individual deer are SO sharp, just beautiful!

jackwv

JeanneP and Shirley thanks, no hunting at Oglebay, guess a few may wander onto the farms in season and get shot. Hunters coming here to play golf can't believe the number of them walking on the golf courses and will not move for the golfers.  To my knowledge Oglebay does nothing to reduce the herds, but they do chase the geese that make a mess on the walking paths.

This town is having lots of trouble with the geese problem.  Across the way from me they have built beautiful 3 t0 4 hundred thousand dollar homes and like most in area put in a man made lake.  Around all the Estates people are complaining. They are up on the lawns. Poop all over furniture and can't walk on the grass. The lakes have been put in at all the big shopping area. People take their kids and have them feed them. Just like us when we took our kids to feed the ducks years ago.  Not in towns though.  Big signs up now say "Please don't feed the geese" They also stop traffic all over by walking in the road.
Someone thought they would stop by putting some type of poison into the lake across the street.  Killed thousands of dollars of fish that they had stocked it with.

Glad I am not rich enough to live so fancy.
