LoðŸ'žE your picture together, Bubble and Don!  Looking at it makes my ðŸ'â„¢ smile!

SHIRLEY, loved seeing your grandson and the great grand's.  They are all beautiful children.

I am very sorry to read about your health issues, Sato. I do hope you are feeling much better now.  Than you, JEAN, for sharing this news.

SACHIKO, your flowers are beautiful.  Lilies are one of my very favorite, so I did love seeing yours.  I have a plant that looks just like your "Fuyou", and I will remember the name of it shortly....I hope.  The blossom is identical and the beautiful little flower does indeed Bly last one day.  I always enjoy your pictures that you share.

I agree with many of you that you, JACK, have a special eye when it comes to taking pictures.  One of my sons is the same....there is just something special about the one you and he take.

I love reading the comments about the bases in England.  When we were over there in 2012 I could not believe how much everything had changed in the Greenham Commons area.  NOTHING was recognizeable.  The base was no longer there and the land was a game reserve of sorts..... We were not able to find any of the places that we lived in.....a shopping center had been built in the area of a bed and breakfast that we stayed in.  We even drove into the area where you lived, SHIRLEY, and nothing was recognizeable.  When we lived in England, you could drive all over London, and now you can not drive into the city with out a permit.  We were there 10 years after you were, Shirley.  It was a wonderful time to be in Europe.  We were actually stationed in Bitburg Germany, but Bob was chosen for this special project and we spent 5 months in England.

Please keep.sharing your beautiful pictures.

Jenny, thank you very much for your warm words. I am moved deeply.

Jenny, thank you for your kind comments.   Would like to see more photos posted and love reading the comments from the group of you on your shared interest in a bit of England.  Recall doing a google map on the area Shirley mentioned, when on the old site.  I was in the Army only 2 years and served most of it at Ft. Meade Maryland.  That was in 1954 and when I returned several years ago so much had changed. I stayed in a 3 story brick building and when I visited they had scaffold up.  I asked what they were doing and they said repairing the offices.  They claimed the building was always offices, but I assured them it was once home to a company of the 4th Army. There is no longer a 4th Army and much of Ft Mead is now the Federal Government, even the CIA.

Shirley

Jack, my brother was stationed in Maryland in '53... regular army- 2 years.  Then he got transferred to Alaska so bought an Airstream trailer & pulled it up so he could have his wife & baby daughter with him.  All I remember they talked about Maryland was an officer that was such a bully with his wife & kids...   Young today don't have a clue what it was like during "the draft" and war years, we did what we had to do, right?

Thanks for the comments about the kids, Jenny.... I am way ahead of you with grands & great grands!  Shocking how fast they multiply from only 3 kids.

Sachiko3

My daughter worried about me and came from Tokyo. I got well with that alone.

angelface555

Sachiko, what a nice photo of the two of you together! Other than a differance in height, you two look just like each other! Hiw nice to have a caring family!

JeanneP

Sachiko. You are looking so much better now.  Keep it up.

Jenny . So true. Every time I go back to UK the places have changed so much. Usually go every 2 to 3 years. I hate some of what they have done.
Now I visited Bitburg about 10 years back. Liked the area. I had always wanted to visit Trier and managed to stay there also.  My friends were stationed there. Loved Luxembourg. Her husband was in charge of the US Military Cemetery  there. Patten was buried in it. Very well looked after.

I am not going to complain about our weather . Maybe its hot but just watched the weather report and what a mess Louisiana  is having again. What was it 13 ft. of Rain again. Came down fast. All the flooding again. They are promising us up maybe 3 inches over the weekend. It could happen as it is the Start of the State Fair and it is known for getting rain that week. Rain  will feel good. Everything is so dusty. No rain for almost a month now. Just to hot for me to be out cleaning up outside.  My grass gets cut weekly still. Usually he lets it go much longer this time of year. Surprising it is not dead. However the sad thing is the town has to have over 700 ASH  tree taken down. Some disease has hit. We are know all over as having the best town for Trees. Beautiful over in the University area. No way can they be saved.  I think they were planted just 5 years ago. Cost of Millions. Now again Millions to cut them down and replace. Going to have to take a look and see what is happening as three of mine have some problem. Although mine are 50 years old. Not sure what kind.

Sachiko a lovely photo of the two of you.  Know it gave you a lift to have her visit.

Mary Ann

Sachiko, what a nice picture of you and your daughter.  I can believe you felt better by having her visit from Tokyo.  You two do look alike.

Mary Ann

Shirley

Love the photo of you & your daughter, Sachiko.... Tell her I will be searching for a blouse like she has on, my favorite kind of shirt!  I like the nice long look.  You look so neat & trim with your blouse tucked in.  You both have the same smile.  Daughters are good medicine, aren't they?

Jeanne, I guess trees go through stages of dying out.... doesn't seem very long ago the elms died and now I have them popping up everywhere and have huge ones down along the river bank... what my father used to call "scrub elm".  In Colorado lots of the pines are dying.... most are already gone around here.  I am trying to protect a small mimosa tree that sprouted last fall.  We used to have a large one in that spot but my husband thought it shaded the little Rialta & caused mildew on it's top, so cut it down.  I park this RV on the other side of the driveway.

JeanneP

I love the long tops also now. Specially with skirts. Love the one that Sachiko has on. I have a new top that would just be perfect with it.

Shirley. Only thing is this is going to really change the Architecture of some old neighborhoods. Specially on Compus area where all the homes are beautiful Old Victorian. So proud of these areas.  But has to be done.
JeanneP

JeanneP

Jack. GD was home and I was talking about your park and how beautiful you park is and I have to see it. Now she says that your town is where they always stop and  stay overnight when they drive from their Home In New Canaan. Connecticut and Danville Illinois. it is about the half way stop. I have to keep that in mind if I drive.
JeanneP

FlaJean

Sachiko, such a lovely photo of you and your daughter.  So good to see you looking healthy.

Sato, if you are able to look into forum, we want you to know we are missing you and your lovely videos.

Sachiko3

Angelface, JeanneP, Jack, Mary Ann, Shirley, Jean, thank you very much for your warm words!
She is a doctor of science and is the professor of University. And she is married, but, unfortunately, there is no child. She stayed in my home for four days, and she just prepared meals. We spent very happy four days.

Sachiko3

Jean, I'm wishing Sato gets back about me sincerely.

Vanilla-Jackie

Sachiko.....

...you must be very proud of your daughter.......yes agree on the parent - child similarities, you definitely share the same permanent facial smile....

angelface555

Sachiko, I can see where you would be proud of your daughter! And of you and your husband in raising such a wonderful daughter!
