Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

I had never heard of using the baby shampoo. Bet a few of us will be out to get some this week.  Also will change my eye drops to what Mary TX is using. I had not seen that brand either.  I always see the Eye Doctor once or sometimes twice a year if he sees anything. Only problem is the Dry Eye.  Still just have glasses for close work.

Now on using the baby shampoo on eyes do we just make a foam from it in water? Doubt it is used right from the bottle on a cotton pad.

Jeanne, you could use a small pad, make a small foam or simply use your fingers to work a small amount in and about your eyelashes.

Jeanne ,  I just pour a tiny bit in my hand when I am in the shower and smooth it over my eyelashes.  And then just use a rinsed out warm washcloth to wipe it off.

Not a big problem at all.

I put a little on a cloth, do not foam it but apply it directly and rub a bit.  It does not sting and then I wash it off.

When Larry had his cataract operations he was told to use it 4 or 5 days before each operation.  That was the first time I had heard about it.

JeanneP

Now I was given a prescription for cream to use on eye lids 5 days before operation. Not cheap. Baby shampoo never mentioned. Some dr. Love giving prescriptions .

I never was asked to do anything before the cataract surgery, just not use any cream or make up on my face that day.

Lindancer

Good afternoon, on another snowing day.

I was told by my eye doctor to shower with antibiotic soap.

Today is the Purim festival, with costumed people all over town.  Don and I went to the main square and had lots of fun viewing the crowd.  He was quite a sensation in his Santa suit as you can see in the following pictures.

DON...
...doing what you know best, making young children happy...even behind those masked faces, I bet they are smiling...

Joy

Bubble and Don,   what great pictures !   Looks like such a fun time.   I am assuming that Don knew about this in advance to be able to bring  his Santa costume along with him ????  And, I see you sitting behind the Easter Bunny.   Looks like quite a big festival  !!!

Thanks for sharing your day with us.

I recognized the "old" lady (white hair - it takes one to know one) sitting beside Don and the big bunny.  It looks like a fun time.  I've heard of Purim but I don't know the significance of it.  Great pictures.

I agree, more great photos of you, Don and Aviv!

What I noticed was the shop that truly is international in scope, offering sushi, Italian and fish and chips! Aviv looks so much smaller in that photo compared to others in the crowd.

I would go further in seeing the bystanders, that Israel has many beautiful children!

Thank you again for posting these!

MaryAnn, I know it's about the book of Ester and defeating the plot, but I don't get the costume effect connected to it.

JeanneP

Looks like it was a fun day. Bet the Children really enjoyed Santa.  Bet you were both tired at the end of the day.  Do they reset the clocks ahead in Israel today?

JeanneP

Radioman34

angelface555 speaking "international scope" of shops etc. this is a serviette from a restaurant at which we ate last week.

Radioman34

JeanneP the clocks change in Israel in two weeks I believe

angelface555

Don, now that is interesting. Do they serve haggis?  :)

These were not taken by me, but by a professional Alaskan photographer, Patrick Thumn. However, I wanted to show the difference from the Southeastern portion of the state which is a rain forest climate to where I live in the Arctic which is a dry climate, forested prairie. The Southeast is more Nordic within mountains, low strips of land sandwiched between an ocean, the gulf and mountains. None of these are optical allusions and were both taken this winter.

This is a recent view of Fairbanks by World Press.com. Actually, upon looking at it, it is not as there are a pedestrian bridge and another vehicle bridge added in this area. So this is probably at least six to 10 years old.

Jean asked about Juneau, our capital that is only reached by ship or by air as there are no connecting roads. Here are a couple of professional photos of the area. This first is a portion of Juneau as seen from Douglas Island and the second shows a portion jetting out into the inlet.

Bubble, think you found the real meaning of Christmas.... not just the gifts, take Santa!  What a fun day!  My great-grandson is also a spiderman fan... same age as Aviv.  Don't know why I am surprised at a "country that tries so hard to bring happiness to children".... it seems to me that even the government has worked to created a beautiful and joyous place for all.  Thanks for the photos!

Ah, Patricia, my heart skips a beat when you post photos of your world..... Don't expect I'll ever get there, now that I have cats to take where ever I go.  I really would like to make at least one more trip to the northwest before I give up "seeing the USA in my Cheverolet" ...Ford.  Have not made a long distance trip for years & not sure I'm comfortable with driving any greater distance than adjoining states (CO, MO, & OK).  We'll see.  I do remember when you did all that walking..... boggled my mind.
