Sachiko, so many lovely roses!

Sato, I agree with the rest that it is so nice seeing you post here!

FlaJean

Sachiko, I really like the yellow roses---beautiful.

We had a summer thunderstorm earlier.  Lots of thunder and rain which is gone but has left an overcast sky.  Probably good light for taking pictures, but I'm too comfortable sitting in my easy chair with my iPad to move.  ::)

Jean just had a passing storm. Was on the patio and the birds were busy chirping, then got quiet.  I was taking a break from house work.    My daughter here Sat and Sun for fathers day.   She is able to visit around 6 times a year, and I clean around 6 times a year. :)

FlaJean

My Crossandra (Orange Marmalade) survived the winter.  I thought I had lost it, but it is beginning to look much better.

Sachiko3

Good Morning!
Joy, Lindancel, angelface, Frajean,
Thank you very much for your comments.

Sachiko3

Jean, beautiful!
I saw Crossandra for the first time.

Storms on and off all day, but went up to the park this evening.   Tulips gone but new plantings now coming up and they have put up the hanging baskets.   Photo is a bit small since I took a panorama and had to reduce to post.

Sandy

Nice park jack   ...   lovely area to stroll around in.  Or run if the spirit
moves!!

Sachiko3  good to see you back !!!   I too, ust broke my arm... The cast is off now
but I need to do   some therapy to get things working better!

Best wishes to YOU!

Sandy

Jean, what a pretty plant.  I had never heard of Crossandra and, of course, had never seen one.

Sandy, thanks, lots of walking trails, gave up running long time ago.  Now I just slowly walk from bench to bench.

halkel

Jack I would love to join you in one of you and your pups walks.  That used to be one of my favorite things to do.  Now I do well just to walk to the curb and back to the house.

I have Pt tomorrow morning so maybe I will get some pep back in my step.  Already had two days of water exercises, great till you get out of the pool then you feel like you weigh 300 pounds.    ;)

jackwv

Hal, was just going to turn off the machine and spotted your post.   Am fortunate that I can still manage.  Fell a few times, have a cane but do not use.  Know my limits (they keep cutting back)     Mimi understands and just walks up to each bench and sits with me for a few minutes.   Like reading here about many that still travel, but I stick close to home.

Joy

Good morning.  A little cloudy here this morning, and  off and on showers are predicted.  We do need the rain, tho.  The temperature is supposed to be a little lower for a couple days.  But, then the heat is coming back. I really don't mind the hot days.  Prefer those to those cold, snowy ones.

Jack, I am right there with you as to cleaning.  Since I have very few visitors,  I only clean when the spirit moves me.  I do try to get rid of some clutter now and then.  Here where I live, they have a yearly inspection, so I get really busy when that time comes.  I do manage ok, at other times.  My big problem is I seem to accumulate soooooo much paper stuff.  I think my name is all over the country for magazines.   I try to bundle them up when the start accumulating and put them in the recycling bin.  I usually just black out my name and address on them, and as far as mail goes,  I cut off the labels to shred.  I have another container for all the rest of the paper stuff, which goes into the recycling bin when it gets full,  Just time consuming.

My traveling days are pretty much over, also.  I guess I won't ever make it to Oglebay.  That is really one place that I would love to see.  And, it really wouldn't be that long a trip.....  just finding a way to get there.  Oh well, I do enjoy all your pictures, anyway.

I do a lot of armchair traveling.  I have a couple nieces and nephews who are full time RVers, and they provide a lot of pictures from all over the US.  I look forward to seeing them,.  That seems to be the extent of my travels these days.  I am sorry that  we didn't see more of our country when my husband and I had our RV.   We got as far as Arizona, and were always sorry that we didn't go further.  At that time, we had the time, the money and our good health.

Now,  my husband passed away 12 years ago, and my health is declining now, also.  But, I am feeling blessed that I can still be in my own place,  and take care of it pretty much.  The extent of most of my going out, is to the doctor's and the grocery store, and an occasional dinner out.  My sons help out as much as they can, and I know they are available if I really need them.  They all have their own lives to live and with all of them working, they don't have a lot of spare time.  Plus, I have 2 daughter-in-laws who see that I get to the doctor's and get groceries for me when I am not up to it.  I know there are a lot of older people who don't have family to help out.  Especially, here where I live.  It is just so sad when they have families who don't bother to visit or take care of their needs.

Hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful week end.

Happy Father's Day to all the Senior and Friend Dads.

Jack, I think you still drive to your daughter's and while I don't know how far or how long it takes, I think it might be similar to my trip to Indps (approximately 5 1/2 hours.  That is the extent of my riding since I don't drive any more.  I have found I can "take" a ride of that distance and not suffer any consequences.  Until I get back home, then I crash for a couple of days.

Joy, you're much more careful than I am with magazine labels because I just pitch the magazines and catalogs.  Some of my mail when I see who it is from. I do not even open it, just throw it in the trash.

Most of my "traveling" today is created by the pictures posted here.  I've been to England and Japan and places in between.

Lindancer

Good afternoon, on a rainy day.

Joy, I am on of those people without a family close by. I depend on my neighbors and friends. I never thought I would make 93. I am able to take care of my self, VERY VERY  slowly. I have someone come in and do the big cleaning and making and change my bed linnen. I still can cook, mostly with the help of the micro wave and crock pot.  Can do my own cloth washing etc. I have grand son in Vermont and one in Fla. who is learning to walk again, after a tumor was removed from his spine. He now lives with his mother. then I have a DIL in Mass., who is holding down 3 jobs to keep her house.  Ky g/daughter is in Tenn. I live in NY

MaryAnn, I also enjoy looking at the photos in here

Lindancer,  I am sorry to read that your family members are so scattered around the country.   It is great that you have such nice neighbors and friends who are available to help you. I know you appreciate all that they do for you.

Sounds like you do pretty well for yourself.  I have trouble walking and do get tired out a lot.  But, I can still take care of myself and do what has to be done.  Friends and family sometimes just do not realize how difficult it is for us seniors to get things done unless they experience these kind of things themselves.

Fortunately, I have 2 sons who live close, and if I need them, they are there.  Don't always keep in touch as much as I would like them to, but I do know that I can call on them when I need to.  I have 2 daughter-in-laws who are great.  One sees that I get to the doctors, and the other one either takes me shopping or  will stop and bring me some things that I need.  I just have a hard time asking for help.  But, at times,  it is necessary.  Most people just don't understand how difficult it is when you loose your independence.  And, unfortunately,  they won't understand until they have to experience that same problem.

Off my soapbox !!!

Have a great week end.

It often cleared up today, so my husband and I went to our vegetable garden for water doing.
It was flowing through Ashida river quietly, but the bird wasn't also seen.

Sachiko3

Eggplant, cucumber and pumpkin were growing in our vegetable garden.

Sachiko...good morning, seems I am up and posting only 10 minutes after you...
...what a vast area of garden, almost like what we would call an allotment...you are so lucky and blessed...Sachiko have I got it right, is this part of your own garden or did you have to go somewhere to reach it? if so, it does very much sound like what we call an allotment, which is usually run by our local council and some even have a waiting list to get hold of one...I do envy its openness location....So nice and healthy to actually grow our own freshly grown produce...
Again Sachiko, please do keep up the smiles, your smile often makes my day complete...so thank you :)

Sachiko3

Vanilla-Jackie, thank you very much for your comment.
It looks wide with these pictures, but the actual condition isn't so wide. But these land has been inherited from my husband's ancestor generation after generation, and I think it's Treasure.

jackwv

Sachiko I always like the view of the Ashida River, and like Jackie I was impressed with the size of the garden and surroundings.   When the flowers have grown a bit I will post photos of the hanging baskets.

FlaJean

What a good photo of you in your vegetable garden, Sachiko.  Love the photo of the Ashida River--looks so peaceful.

Sachiko3

Good Morning!

Jack, FlaJean, thank you very much for your comments.
There wasn't a duck in the Ashida River, and I was regrettable. Now, I'd be able to harvest eggplant, cucumber and pumpkin.

angelface555

Sachiko, thanks again for showing us such nice photos!

Well...at least the sun is trying to shine...

Patricia a pretty photo.  Raining heavy now, hope it stops for a night walk, would like to see that sun.

Angelface...
...surprisingly your sun is bright, it may be struggling to show itself but it is still blinding....You are welcome to OUR sun...UK or at least our little corner of UK is suffering our first of the year heatwave, got another three days of it yet, guess we are in the middle and I dont like heatwaves, makes me ratty....

Sachiko...
...the last time I saw a river and a dam very similar looking to your photo of Ashida River was several years ago where I used to live and dog walk, on that day right perched in the centre of the dam was a Heron, so gracefully perching on the one leg.....been quite some time now since I last spotted a Heron, they are so graceful when you see one flying...

Jack wv...
...please do send some of your rain over, I would certainly welcome it, if not others in UK....

jackwv

Hot today, followed the shade and here was two of my resting places.

angelface555

Some nice Oglebay photos Jack! It looks as if you have several places to rest and enjoy the vistas.

Jackie, the reason I took the photo was that it was pouring down rain and had been for a couple of days and yet you could still see the sun. I lightened up the original photo as all those clouds were dark purple!

For some reason, we are clear all week, then it rains all weekend and has for the last three weeks. We stay up to the mid-eighties and a low about plus seventy-two. It is hot and dry with relatively little to no humidity. I know those still working all week are cursing our weather!  >:(
