Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

That rabbit looks big.  If I happen to see any in my yard they are so small. Same with the few squirrels I get.

JeanneP   I thought it was a young one, but unable to get close, the camera was zoomed in close so it looks larger.

I haven't had a chance to check in here lately, come & read the posts but before I can type a post the phone rings or someone is due to stop by... do not know where the time goes.

Gorgeous photo, JR... or as Pat called you, "Johnny"...  That is one area I haven't gotten to see yet... and so very special.  I love camping but now have a 28' RV because I have to take my husbands 3 feral cats along since he died 3 years ago.  They are not happy campers... one gets car sick.  Biggest problem is they are nocturnal & I don't get a lot of sleep unless I stay in one place during the day & sleep with them.  My 2 sons & I are going to CO, camping along the Divide only I have to sleep about 8,000' since heart surgery.  No problem going up during the day.  I took the boys by myself when they were 12 & 14 & they are in their 50s now.  My husband hated camping so we agreed that he played golf all year & I got a week off for a trip to CO & several trips to MO Lake of the Ozarks each year.  Nice to meet someone who camps!

Pat, good to see you, how are you doing?

Jack, that is a great shot of your bunny... we have lots & lots around here but not as photogenic as yours.  My neighbors would love for me to quit feeding the cats so much so they would do more hunting. Besides my 3, I feed 2 more that come for meals every day. I kidded one of the neighbors that "if they fed the bunnies maybe they would quit eating their flowers & garden"... He didn't think that was funny.   :idiot2:   I had one dead cicada in the pool this week... but haven't heard them or seen any live ones.  I don't think they show up here until fall.

I didn't walk the cats down to the river this evening... was still 90 degrees about 7:00 pm.  Heat wears me out, and I am sleepy.  Sweet dreams to all.  Shirley

Jack, wonderful! You were able to photograph it so clearly.

When I looked at my backyard, one cosmos bloomed. Though the cosmoses are small and still June.

Vanilla-Jackie

Sachiko, oh that Cosmos looks so sad, hope it wont be long before it has some company....

so_P_bubble

I loved that bunny - I wish we had some here, or even squirrels: they are so much fun to watch.

That cosmos is so delicate, so perfect in all ways with the  regularly  spaced stamens and petals, the pastel coloring.  Splendid!  A great close-up Sachiko.

Vanilla-Jacke, bubble, thank you very much for your comments. The cosmos blooms in Japan in October from August. And this is the first time that it blooms in a so low state.

Vanilla-Jackie

Several years ago I once bought some chocolate cosmos, planted it in our back garden, only for a short time afterwards, before it had time to fully blossom, my other half pulled it up as a weed.... :knuppel2:  even to this day I keep reminding him, " I once had a chocolate cosmos...."

Shirley. My husband hated any outdoor things. I have always loved camping, fishing hiking. Still do.  His idea of roughing it was a "Holiday Inn"
Would not be doing any of it this weekend here as it is going to be 94 deg today and 101 on Sunday.  Will be a busy Electricity for the area A/C  hope they hold up. I will not be going out in it.

Jack, another perfect photo, and great bunny shot! They and the hares are trouble here as well as beavers, moose and bears getting into the gardens. The joys of being forest bound.

Sachiko, so lovely to have you back again and seeing all your garden shots again! You really have a creative photographic eye!

Yesterday on my walk I noticed the daisies, Irises, and wood roses are out as are the bees. I always wonder if the Daises and Irises simply got away from their yards and spread, but a University friend says, no, they've always been wild. We also have chamomile, wild carrots and wild onions and the Asian women are out with their grandchildren and gathering bags.

JeanneP In our travels, years back, roughing would be a Holiday Inn without a heated pool (prior to indoor pools)

Patricia, we just have the deer and rabbits, a terror with gardens but usually safe to have around.

Bubble only a few squirrels around, but lots of deer.

During my walk, I met several visitors from out of our area.   Told them I would like to take video of several of them doing the cicada dance :D  While talking several would land on them and boy the reaction!

Just in from our 2nd walk today.   The tulips are gone at Oglebay, but the new plants coming in and the hanging baskets.

JeanneP

Our TV weather man just told us it is 94 deg outside. No going out for me.  Was touched by watching the Funeral and showing all the thousand of people attending the Memorial. Lots of people got up and spoke . How the people of his home town gave him  send of.

Ex. President Clinton looked so tired but gave a good Memorial of knowing him. Billy Chrystal was so good.

From the older category-- everyone wants the falls out here, I chose something different. As a copy hangs on the living room wall, this photo changes with different light- almost like something 3D-- Just one I never get tired of. Been here 3 times, the first in 1959 and twice the last few years. Would love to get out in the Winter but am just too darn old. :)

Not a soul around when I stopped to take this, no sooner than I did and there was a State Trooper pulling up wanting to know what the ---- I was doing. :)

Hello Everyone - It's truly been a great blessing for me to finally be able to access this site.  I've been trying for a long time and don't know if it was something wrong with my computer or the Irish "trouble makers" messing with my computer.

It surely is a pleasure to read the recent posts and note the comments RE the gardens and the beautiful plants which were mentioned.  We live in Concord, North Carolina and today have been cautioned about degrees in the 90's.  Sure hope that does not mean that some of our beautiful blooms are going to succumb to the high temps.

So far this season, I've enjoyed the earlier Iris plants adjacent to our side yard, smaller Purple and White tiny blooms on the other side of the Porch (gifts from our next-door neighbor) and lovely bright red blossoms, which my son planted for me prior to his recent departure to Korea, where he will serve two years as an Army Chaplain.  In his brief email upon arrival, he inquired "Mom, how are MY new plants doing?  Do they miss me?"

I'm not the gardener here, but surely enjoy reading the posts and the descriptions of the plants enjoyed by all Friends here.  I'll be back again soon if my computer cooperates!

Jack, Oglebay! It is the place that feels nostalgic for it for me. And it is always beautiful.

Sachiko3

J R WEEMS, these are wonderful photos. Because I climbed mountains with my husband more than 50 years, I am interested in the photo of the mountain.

As hydrangeas in Jinguji temple that there was by car from my home to 20 minutes were in full bloom, I visited with my husband.

so_P_bubble

Absolutely beautiful blooms.  Now I see that the buds open all around before the central ones. Very interesting.  Are they all in posts and containers?

jackwv

Lovely Sachiko, and hope your are able to get out a bit.

FlaJean

Enjoy all the photos.  Sachiko, our two hydrangeas we inherited are full of blooms and such deep colors.  Must be this soil.

JR, enjoy especially the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.  We were there in Sept. 2003 and loved every minute of our time there.

JeanneP

Sachiko, It is good that you can get out now and take a few photo's and find beauty so close to home. A hour a day outside will help a lot.
JeanneP

angelface555

Sachiko, such lovely blooms and so crisp! I enjoyed seeing them!

phyllis

My lacecap hydrangeas are in bloom, too, but they aren't nearly as big and beautiful as those in your photo, Sachiko.  My neighbors have the mop cap (or mop head) hydrangeas and they are very beautiful this year.  For some reason, here in central North Carolina, none of the hydrangeas bloomed at all last ear.  It's nice to see them back.

Have all who watched the Eagles noticed that they have now left the Nest. I think on the B shot it shows them in the Trees.
Very good crowd out at the beach today also.
JeanneP

Sachiko3

bubble, Jack, Jean, JeanneP, angelface, Phyllis, thank you very much for your comments. Most hydrangeas are near full bloom, and I think we visited there at the best time.

Sachiko3

The site of this temple was large, and many hydrangeas bloomed.

But I have been tired a little when I walked for one hour while I being attracted by the beauty of the hydrangea, and taking photos.

JeanneP

Sachiko.
What a beautiful walk you had. I think you are already looking much better than the photo from the hospital. Just do a little every day. Rest when you feel like you need it. Eat the good food I am sure is being made for you. We know you will recover well fast. Back making those videos that we always looked forward to.

Sachiko, I so agree with your following of Doctors recommendation, re, your diet for your heart but you must eat to remain at a good and steady body weight, otherwise I fear you may become too weak, ( apologies if I am coming across as too personal ) and that will take its toll on your walking to see all those beautiful flowers and plants......Beautiful hydrangea's....at our old address we had a large planter pot, side of house which used to change colour from pink, purple to a blue.....sadly again that planter pot got left behind.....but we do have some beautiful flowers, plants and shrubs here at our new home, and it sure is a surprise, seeing what next we have that comes into bloom...

Sachiko3

JeanneP, Vanilla-Jacke, thank you very much for your suggestions and others that are full of the heart kindly.
