Not the announcement I wanted to make so soon, but I recently got an email from my host saying they're raising prices by 20% starting next month (last year they were purchased by another company and now that company has apparently decided to raise prices and merge everything into their own brand). Another well-known company offers a very similar plan (although with only half the disk space, but we're only using 28% of what we have now anyway so that's not a big deal) for about half of what I would be paying for the current plan with the price increase (and a little more than half of what I'm currently paying).

I don't have an exact date for the transfer but it will probably be within the next week or so. I've already set up a server with the new host so at this point it's mostly just a matter of configuring it the way I want it before moving everything over.

Like last time some of you might experience a slight delay in being able to access the site when the move does occur, but as always I can be reached via email if you have any problems (several of you already have it - feel free to send me a PM here if you don't and would like it).

Still working on getting things configured, but if all goes well I will likely do the move either this coming weekend or the weekend after that. I've already moved a couple of domains that I use for test sites, but I can't access one of those at the moment (and I'm not sure why), so I want to get that figured out before I do anything else - I want to make sure the sites will be fully accessible within a reasonable amount of time once I do the move.

Quick update... I fixed the issues I was having and both of the domains I moved are working fine on the new server. I plan on doing the move this weekend - probably late Saturday night into Sunday. Like usual, I will put the site in Maintenance Mode before I do the move so nothing gets lost in the shuffle.

Plan on doing the move tonight, about 11:30 my time (a little over 3 hours from now). Shouldn't take long to move everything but could take a few hours for your computer to notice the change.

What problem is she having when she tries to log in? The server move shouldn't have affected anyone's ability to log in at all

Patricia has been posting so I guess she can log in OK.
