How odd, TomeReader. I haven't tried ordering any Royal Canon yet, but it is still offered by PetSmart, Chewy and Amazon. I think Chewy offers the most extensive variety of K/D prescription cat food of the three. I've been using Hill's Science Diet prescription cat food. It seems to be what the cats like best. Oscar appears to be eating more of the dry kibble lately. It is the wet food he is really picky about and frequently changes what he will eat. I wonder why he all of a sudden prefers the dry.

Time to get started organizing my day before it is time to take Shan to the vet.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm sorry I can't enter the conversation about cats.  I don't have one and I haven't had one in the house since I was a teenager.

I'm up and attem and teady to take on the day.  I have an appt. with the eye dr. this afternoon and that's the only thing planned.  The rest with be "catch as catch can"!  Whatever I think about will get done.  I wish you all a happy and productive day.  Make it your own in every way!

Supposed to have rain - so far almost noon notta - however overcast and dreary and not near as cold as predicted - in fact the entire slide of temps for the next week has been altered to the lows now in the 50s rather than the 40s

Grumpy today -  construction in the area and after only changing all the filters they are full needing to replaced again, plus my house is like walking through a fog of dust particles landing on everything - I just waxed and cleaned the brass lamps and picture frames and now they are covered again - still empty land nearby and so I will probably have this to experience over and over - somehow I need to get on top of it and like it or not it is what it is... sheesh... makes breathing a challenge - thank goodness I have a few small cans of oxygen that runners use that I can give myself a shot to clear my lungs... Well off to start my dusting and waxing again...

Good morning, getting a late start today, stayed up late last night, visiting with a friend on the cell and then meet and greets ran long this morning.

I think our cats are like us, we're all getting older and at times irascible. Amy, Callie, according to the chart, would be 76 in human years and most cats, depending on breed, only live between 15 and 23 years.

I think I might cook my turkey today, then freeze the rest after saving a bit for a few meals, other than that, nothing really pressing today, morning chores finished and coffee made. Claire's coming by this afternoon and might bring Ruth with her, so it'll be an easy day.

Amy

Blizzard like conditions out there now. So far I would say 4 inches of new snow, guess I will be dancing with Mr SB as I am not going to tackle this with Mr Shovel.
Baking done ,just have some pans to wash up, you know all that fn stuff from having fun in the kitchen.

Patricia, thank you, I shall pass that on to her owner.

Amy, I found this for you if you're curious.

We had snow yesterday afternoon and overnight, tomorrow brings more freezing rain and ice. This winter rain and ice combo comes with more humidity than we're used to.

We had two deaths and seven injured Monday on Chena Hot Springs road and one critically injured and one death on Badger road in the North Pole, and news reports say police are blaming not paying attention to road conditions for both accidents. We're not used to this, but perhaps we'll have to.

Just a quick stop to say....

Good Night Everyfriend!  It's been a busy day and I'm tired right down to my toenails!  I had a visit with the eye dr. this afternoon and he said there has been no change in the past 4 months!  So now I'm on a 6 month schedule of visits!  I'm delighted with that outcome!

I've pretty much got Christmas ready for the Texans and Oklahomans in my family.  I need one more trip to WM for a couple gift cards and then a trip to the post office and I'm finished there!  Hallelujah!!!

Now I'm going to hit the hay early because Cooper will be arriving early tomorrow morning.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  Make the day your own in every way!  And don't forget to tell us how you did that!  We're the nosy kind!

Good morning..

The music has started playing and I need to dress for the dance. I would say a good 6-7 inches of new snow and I do hope it is easy to move. The joys of winter.

With that job done we may head into town for a few groceries, if I have any steam left in me.

Patricia, Jesse would be aound 45 yrs old in human age.A lot depends on breed and size and he is a chunk of a lap dog weighing in at 105 lbs.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

It was snowing here last night when I went to bed. But the ground must still be warm as there is little left there this morning. 37° now, and no sunshine - just like yesterday.

Good late morning, meet and greets have come and gone and Farrah fed and presently napping. Fourteen degrees and cloudy presently, with a forecasted high in the twenties. Unfortunately, this afternoon and overnight, we will have some snow and freezing rain bringing visibly to less than half a mile, so people are asked to stay home if possible and off the roads.

I've decided to cook my turkey this afternoon, and freeze most of it and figure out some new recipes for my remaining apples that don't involve flour or cinnamon, which I forgot last Tuesday. So, same old, same old.

My sister is busy buying some new furniture, closing her yard for winter and cutting out and decorating wooden fish while planning out her winter schedule. She's on a decluttering schedule, while I'm not. I did re-arrange my living room at the end of November, but still have some spaces in the bedroom needing a look at and, of course, the daily grind. The trouble here, besides my present couch-surfing, is that options are limited due to management's insistence that the sliders and windows remain unobstructed.

Amy, Jesse's 45 and still a lapdog, nice gig if you can get it! :)) Give him some scritches for me.

Productive morning - overcast but no rain after a night of rain - cloud layer must be thin - no sun but that bright look when the sun is not covered with deep wet clouds.

I'm guessing the heavy moist air holds all the construction dust so that last night I did not care about dollars and changed filters again - not all but the whole house filter and the small one in my bedroom and living room air exchanges - what a difference - granted it was only 2 days ago I changed all of them because of the construction dust but it was worth the dollars - total about $30 to have a decent night's sleep and be able to wake up with feet hitting the ground and actually get something done other than gritching.

Just delivered my order of Bar-K a very strong probiotic individual drinks that only Whole Foods carries along with a couple of containers of their soup - my favorite Butternut Squash and their Minestrone - I feel like a cat with a Cheshire smile knowing I have a great tasting meal to look forward to tonight.

Well laundry in with another yet to go and onward wiping down doors and cabinets and and and all covered with the now thick construction dust. I'm using those Pledge multi-surface wipes but still a chore...

JaneS

Good Morning, Everyfriend!  I didn't even stop in the office last night on my way to bed.  I was tired up the gazoo!  Cathy took me shopping to try to finish up the family in OK so I can get their box on the way!  Then she stuck around and did some stuff on my computer.  And after Cooper went home we socialized for a bit and then she went home and I did some odds and ends, had my supper and tried to watch a show on TV.  Didn't work!  I fell asleep on the couch!  So I hit the bed and had a good night.  Feel better this morning!

BARB, I don't think I like having to put up with that construction dust!  But it sounds like youre doing a good job!  Good luck!!

RICK, we had snow that stuck around.  We're a bit inland from you and I think it stayed colder here.  There's still some on the grassy areas and roofs and it's COLD out there!!!

I don't have Cooper for 3 days and I'm hoping to get some things done before he gets back.  My granddaughter has 3 days off because she worked some holidays!  I'm sure Cooper LOVE that!

I hope you all have a great day!  Make it your own in every way! And if it's cold where you are try to stay warm!

Good morning
Starting out at 12° this morning, snow is crunching under foot!! Managed to get all the snowblowing done yesterday but was out on the amount, more like 8-9 inches.

Today is catch up day ,I wonder do we ever catch up??

Barb, dust each day is nasty! Hope they are soon done their work.

Jane, our postal is still on strike . :(  I heard PA got snow as David was coming through it! We won't get any more snow until Sat...

Patricia, I agree with the cat!! Gave Jesse his scratches and of course he always looks for more. :)

Enjoy your day and stay

Good morning, it's foggy outside with crystalline air at 18. We've got 90% humidity when the norm is 3% for this time of year. We're not getting the dry severe cold. Instead, we're staying warmer combined with freezing rain each time it snows. It feels colder in this wetter climate than the thermometer says. It seems to have somehow switched over from a dry to a wet climate. Our weather, since, 2020 has been unusual.

I finally cooked the turkey yesterday, let it cool, deboned it and put all the meat into the freezer. I finally finished the stew I had made earlier, using my Dutch oven, with plenty of carrots, onions, potatoes, corn and black beans. I had made up enough for eight servings in the freezer. I still have double packs of pork chops and chicken thighs and breasts, plus ground pork in the freezer, so with the turkey, I won't need any meat for quite a while. Earlier I purchased 36 eggs, so the only thing I might need later are more vegetables.

Meet and greets are doing well with everyone staying home in this weather, no one drives anymore so we didn't get together like we usually do for Thanksgiving but are making plans for Christmas shopping and perhaps a few holiday gatherings. Burt got a new rescue dog, a husky, who likes to talk a lot, and he's been working on training. The main issue is that Sam seems to think his job is protecting Burt from everything but especially the vacuum. I can't wait to meet him.

BarbStAubrey

Well I did it! Bunch of money for a couple of weeks but went ahead anyhow and purchased two live evergreen wreaths from LL Bean - nothing available here at the grocery or Home Depot and artificial is fine for color but I just wanted the scent of Spruce and really did not want a whole tree that yes, I could have purchased a live tree here...

The Dining area off the kitchen has a bay with 3 across and on either side one slanting and so, one wreath will go in the middle of the middle window - since they face the street at the front of the house I have the blinds down halfway and the wreath will dress it up with my artificial miniature tree on the counter that separates kitchen from dining area

The other will go in what I'm calling my activity room - a good size bedroom with an alcove where located is my sewing machine and my wicker chair where I read or knit or do embroidery - The larger space has my computer on one wall, cutting table (old dining table) in the middle and all sorts of shelving along the other walls - there are two floor to ceiling windows in the alcove and the wreathe will hang between the two

Yes, I'm beginning to smile about Christmas which is a good thing - I was feeling rather grumpy about the day since I did not enjoy being alone last year and facing the same this year - instead decided just to have fun like a kid playing - I may even play with rolling out cookies using my now I guess antique Christmas cookie cutters.

I never in my entire life had Christmas up before Christmas Eve - the weeks after Thanksgiving were always full of Advent and special Holy days during Advent but this year I decided to go with the flow - most of the Advent Holy day activities are best carried out with family and that is no longer my life so, better to celebrate the season starting early then feel lonely, sad and grumpy. It's very late but I'm so wind up - better go take a couple of melatonin with some vitamin B and get this head on a pillow...

Amy

Good morning

Another snowy morning here.doesn't look to be enough for MR SB but will know better when I go out.

We have turkeys on sale for .97 a lb. one just may come home with me and I can cook it up for Jesse. Some of the meat will go into soup for us.

Patricia your stew sounds delicious. A meal all in one bowl! Fresh bread to go with it??? :)

Barb, we used to have a live tree but now tis artificial. You can't beat the smell of fresh pine. The only draw back is needles everywhere!!

Enjoy your day everyone..stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  My tree is up and lit!  Cathy and I put it up the day after Thanksgiving!  I nevery used to light my tree until Christmas Eve and I still hol off on the "Welcome Candles"  I always light one at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve in honor of His Arrival!

I'm running late this morning because Cooper and I slept in a bit this morning.  I think I'm going to mix up the peanut butter cups and get the going today.  It seems like a good day.  I don't think Cathy is coming over today so I sort of have the day to myself.

Our snow is almost all gone!  It did warn us that winter is here!  My furnace is working hard to keep the house warm and mostly does a pretty good job.

Ha a great day, Everyfriend!  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to share it with us.  We miss you when you don't say "hello"!

Good morning, coffee and meet and greets are done and Farrah's fed and off napping. Food delivery just came for my neighbor. I had told her last time, no food offerings, or I would no longer be able to accept deliveries on her behalf. Hopefully she listens because I still have 16 apples and the downstairs donation table is still closed due to room maintenance.

Speaking of maintenance, yesterday I received notice that the people from the capital will be in town later this month to do yearly inspections and my floor is scheduled for 2:30 through 4:30, 12/18th. I swear, we just had one a couple of months ago. It was when I did my last big decluttering, only for the group to be in and out in perhaps five minutes.

People have evidently not been receiving the notices or understood the intent. Included was three pages of what needed to be clean and what they would look for, cleanliness, stability, maintenance needed, windows clear and walls and rug cleaned.

Amy, I like to make a big batch of stew sans meat, divide it into servings and freeze. Then, when I'm ready, I only need to decide what meat to use with it.

Weather is bad again, last week we had minus thirty, this week will see plus thirty with some snow and then freezing rain with 77 percent humidity. The forecast for this winter was dry and mild. Not quite what we've had. As I understand it, arctic areas across the globe are experiencing similar extreme shifts, so I guess we'll hope for the best and brace for the worst.

I guess Patricia I am still scratching my head - sorry - but living in a coop for seniors does that mean folks come into your apartment or room to inspect it - to me it seems invasive but I am only looking at it from the outside - can you tell me more why this is OK

BarbStAubrey

Thanks Patricia - disabled and still making stew - wow - I'm impressed

Amy

Good morning..

Good news, the snow has stopped, bad news it left 4-5 inches of new snow to deal with. Oh well, Mr SB can handle that in a heartbeat.

Patricia, stew is enjoyed in this cold weather  same with soup. Raven paid a visit he other day, first time in a long time. Not often will they come and eat but now that the crows are gone I hope to see him more often.

Jane, did you get any snow your way?

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm up and attem!  Cooper made a quick trip into the yard, came back in and ate a tad of his breakfast and we're both waiting for daylight to take a walk!

Today will be another busy one getting ready for Christmas.  My plan is to make peanut butter cups.  We shall see.  I'm off to church this morning so that will be this afternoon.

I got an early Christmas gift in the mail yesterday and my Maryland daughter Christy, said I have to open it as soon as it arrives.  It was long johns for under my clothes when I'm cold (which is pretty much of the time).  I have them on now and will be testing them outside as soon as it's light enough for my daily walk with Cooper!

Have a great day Everyfriend!  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to share it with us!  We miss you when you don't stop by!

P.S.  AMY, no snow here!

All is pretty good here in North Carolina except for being cold.  I don't think the heat pump has shut off for days but it is keeping me warm, thank goodness!  No snow so don't need to join Amy in that dance.

Nice to see some new names in here.  Just adds to our friendly chats.  Love hearing about everyone's daily doings.

Son, DAVID, and I still don't have decorations up but to paraphrase Dr. Seuss, Christmas will come just the same. However,  I have ordered food for the holidays from Donovan's Dish so we won't go hungry. 😊  Butternut Soup is something I am really looking forward to along with all the other goodies.

Take care, All.

Good morning..

Freezing rain and snow to come today accordingly to the weatherman. The snow yesterday was heavy/wet and difficult to move, came out the chute like a slushie a tight packed one. Finally on the third try later in the afternoon managed to clean up the area. Friend said her hubby broke 3 shear bolts trying to get their driveway clean. When she looked Hope Depot had 9 packages of the bolts and when they got there they had 5 left so others also had the problem.

Not sure what today will bring, know there is lots to do....thankfully snowblowing in not one of them!

Phyllis ,I don't mind sitting out "the dance" when the snow is nasty like it was.

Patricia, raven didn't eat his bread or kielbasa that was thrown out for him. Now, due to going through the snow blower he doesn't have to chew it! :2funny:

Jane, I am going to make your crackers, peanut butter and dipped in chocolate......maybe get most of the work done today and dip tomorrow

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I didn't make it here yesterday.  I had a lot going on in the house, including a sick doggie.  He threw up 3 times and didn't eat his supper.  He seems ok today.  I only gave him half a breakfast and I'll give him the rest at lunch time if he keeps that down.  So far, the morning has been normal. I'm keeping my fingers crossed....and that makes it hard to type!

My goal for today is to get youngest granddaughter, Kiran's birthday card delivered.  She was born a week before Christmas 18 years ago!
