Full day and another tomorrow - night y'all...

MarsGal

Looks like everyone, including me, was busy yesterday. Took my car for its annual inspection yesterday. I was in and out in about an two hours. That has got to be a record for me. It seemed like no time at all thanks to an Indiana Jones movie and pleasant conversation with others waiting for their cars.

I just looked out the window and saw -- practically nothing. Sure enough, dense fog and some light rain. It is 43oF at present. Looks like it will stay in the mid to high 40s most of the day, then the temp will rise above 50o in the evening bringing more rain overnight.

Not much exciting to do today except for finally putting my new office chair together.

Amy

Good morning..

No snow to deal with this morning, dense fog out there now. Yesterday we did get snow , then rain then thankfully snow on top leaving a hard crust that even Jesse can walk on.

Got side tracked and didn't get the crackers done....maybe today?? Filled all fluid levels up on the vehicle and snowblower and need to pick up oil for MR SB.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Friends!  I've been up and attem since 5:30 this morning and its so foggy out there I can't see more than 5 feet ahead.  Cooper and I had a strange walk this morning!  I hope it clears a bit before Cathy needs to pick me up for a dr. appt.

I'm in the middle of making PB Cups for Christmas gifts and I've run out of milk chocolate buds for melting.  So last evening I made up an egg casserole and baked it and I warmed up a chunck for breakfast today.  It turned out pretty good.  I hope I remember how I did it the next time!

Now I have to get busy again and get some stuff done and get myself cleaned up for the trip to the dr.  I wish you all a great day.  Grab it and make it your own in every way!  And jump back in here to tell us how you did that.  We miss you!

Good morning, nothing new to report, meet and greets, morning chores, and some visiting done. I had a long, pleasant phone call from a friend in Des Moines and some long emails to finish, and here I am.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  My computer was acting up yesterday and I couldnt get in here any time after I got home from the dr and the shopping trip that Cathy and I made.  Boy, did she wear me out!  But we got a lot done!

AMY, I'm not sure how Cooper is today because his Mom is off work and I won't be seeing him but yesterday he was his old self!

I think I'm going to try to finish making the Christmas candy today so I can put that stuff away for good!  I promised lollypops to a couple of the kids on the street and my Great Grandkids in OK expect them.  They already got their packages at my daughter's house and I warned her that the lollys will be late.  But she said that's OK.

I guess I better finish my breakfast and get busy.

I wish you all a great day!  Make it your own in every way!  And I did forget to tell you we're expecting RAIN today.  I'm kind of glad it's not snow!

Amy

Good morning..

Foggy again but not as bad as yesterday. Raining when I went to be last night so walking could be fun.

JANE, happt to read Cooper is feeling better.

Better get at the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

We are getting the East Coast rain today and it was a thick fog when I got up but is a little clearer now.  I got quite a bit done yesterday, sent the Cristmas money to my family in Va., had a big grocery order delivered...some for now and some for Christmas...so that is something to check off the list. Waiting on some things
to be delivered by Amazon and LL Bean today.  I tried yesterday to get some Chexmix but it was all gone so I'll go online for that today.  I would like to get a house cleaner in before Christmas but if I don't it won't be a problem because nobody but David and I will be here and we are both good at ignoring a dust bunny or two.  ;D

Things seem to be coming together so I feel pretty relaxed now.  Take care, All.

Good morning, it's snowing through the day and meet and greets are finished, Farrah fed and coffee's on. I'll be deep cleaning today prior to the inspection, so I may not be back until tomorrow or later.

BarbStAubrey

Chilly but sunny and the bluest clear sky... Leaves are falling and blowing - Pine needles by the ton last month - glad that is over - the Pine needles are so much harder to gather.

Had my monthly cleaning group here yesterday - everything is wiped, waxed and washed - nice.

Phyllis notice you live in Cary up close to Raleigh - my sister lives in Corolla on the outer banks and my daughter lives in Saluda half way between Tryon and Hendersonville south of Asheville.

Someone sent to me through Amazon a live Norfolk Christmas tree with no indication who sent it - called Amazon, the young man was helpful and finally gave him a number that he tracked down the sender but was not allowed to tell me who - he did say the sender sent many - which says to me a business - asked my son if he got one since we both have the same insurance agent but nope - I wish they would have a link for the sender to notify a gift is coming when the item is from an outside vendor - I had a couple like that and I took it upon myself to email and alert the receivers - but I'm in the dark as to who sent me this tree - looked at every scrap of paper included in the box and notta... frustrating.

Well mid-afternoon here and I have not had lunch - a cup of soup will be perfect... y'all stay warm...

MarsGal

What a lovely gift Barb. Not knowing who sent it makes it a little difficult to thank them.

JaneS

Well, it sounds lik you all had a lovely day!  Keep it up!  I finished making my Christmas candy today.  I have reindeer lollypops for all the kids...my great grands and the ones in the neighborhood that always talk to me and even 2 sho visit their grandparents down the street.  They come running out of the house when i'm walking and follow me to the corner talking all the way.

Tomorrow, I have to pack up the boxes to go to Oklahoma.  I already sent their resents and I told them the pops might me late.  They said, "That's OK, GG!  We'll eat 'em whenever they get here".

I guess I better get finished up around here.  Cooper will be arriving a bit before 6 a.m. and I'll have to be up and ready for him.  I'm kind of glad he wasn't here today and that my day was a total work-in day because it rained pretty hard all day!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  Make the day your own in every way!  And don't forget to pop in and tell us how you did that.  Maybe we can do it too sometime!

Morning all!

The sun is about to show itself. No clouds, no rain, but it is only just below freezing right now, at 31o.

Yesterday I got my new swivel desk chair put together. Today I have vacuuming to do, among other things. Tomorrow is another trip to the eye surgeon for the postponed follow-up. He wants to do an irrigation.

Amy

Good morning..
Windy with a temp of 25° here. We did get snow last night but I don't think enough that has to be dealt with....fingers crossed.

Work around home today.

Jane, thank you! Your peanutbutter cups are delicious and I speak from enjoying them before!!

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Almost noon and still chilly - warmed a bit but defiantly not shirt sleeve weather however sun is beaming and sky is clear blue.

Stayed up too late last night watching a series that I could not stop - what fun and yet riveting - all about landowners in French and English speaking Canada where they tap their trees for maple syrup - one guy in this small town that heads the co-op where they all bring their syrup has been ripping them off for years and then using his position to charge outrageous taxes so they have to sell up and of course he buys at a rock bottom price - The story between the main characters that rob the syrup for millions of dollars all have their story - sounds so benign that how could what appears so simple be so engaging - part comedy released this year 2024 - if you have Prime with Amazon the series is called The Sticky - fabulous.

Good morning, we had some snow overnight, and now we're cloudy at plus 30. Meet and greets are finished, Farrah fed and coffee's perked, so I need to get ready as I'll be out with friends for a while today.

JaneS

good Night Everyfriend!  I'm off to the haystack!  I have Cooper overnight and it's freezing here!  The thermometer says 23 degrees (feels like 16).  I almost wish they would bother telling what it "feels like".  I'm tired right up the gazoo!

Cooper and I are up and attem this morning!  We already took a walk in the freezing weather!  The thermometer says 21 degrees and that's cold for this area!

I'm going to pack the candy and finish wrapping gifts today and is Cathy is out and about, I need a couple thins from the store and one more package to go to Oklahoma.

I guess I better get busy before I lose the urge!  I hope you all have a great day!  Make it your own in every way!

Cold here, too, but sunny.  I am having my coffee while sitting under a furry throw and watching the sun shining through the trees in the woods.  It makes interesting patterns on the ground....long finger shadows reaching out and creeping toward my house.  A nice  start to the day.

Hope  your day is pretty, too.

Well waiting for both the cold and the sun - supposed to be down to 55 but oh no... had to turn on the AC to get rid of some of the humidity which is high with no weather announcement just as it is supposed to be sunny - haha - well if that is all I have to complain about then I am doing very well... Now at least I know why I was hot last night - went to bed in flannels thinking it was going to get cold but the house never got colder than 72

Have this box with all sorts of wires and connections for computers and I have no clue what is important to save and what is dated beyond use - really would like to toss it all and thinking I may just do that because more than likely anything requiring a new whatever would have to be purchased not like in the past when we saved every nut, bolt, wire and string. The only thing I would like to keep and I do not know what it will take to play but I do have a couple of small tapes that were in older phones with my eldest son's voice who died now 15 years ago - I don't have much of his but it would be nice to be able to hear his voice again.

One of the live wreathes arrived - nice and full but not much scent which is what I was hoping for - another to arrive next week and maybe it will have a stronger scent - if not it is still nice to have fresh evergreen wreathes.

Well this is a 10:nsey coffee day - and so I'm off to brew my cup...

JaneS

I had a busy and productive day today.  I got a lot done this morning and then was just finishing my lunch when Cathy came by and we went to the post office, a couple stores in town and ended up at WM to get the last of our stuff.  When I came home, I put on some Christmas music and worked on filling the bags for my local family members.

When the mail came, I got a nice card from one of my favorite cousins who lives in Illinois!  I used to see her all the time when we were growing up because they lived about 4 blocks from where we did and we got together a lot.  And after we moved to Lewisburg, they came down and visited us because her father and my mother were sister and brother and the grandmother who lived with us was their mother.  However, I havent seen much of her since she's married and lives in the midwest and her father is gone!

I'm not going to have Cooper tomorrow!  He friend who is visiting her will be looking after him.  They seem to like each other!  That gives me a whole day to get things done!  No Loafing, JANE!!!

I better finish up and hit the haystack so I can hit the floor early and get the day going!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy day tomorrow.  Make it your own in every way and let us know how you did that!  Maybe we'll copy you!

This morning I was checking up on the Tim S. Dool still wedged hard aground on the Crysler Shoal in the St. Lawrence River. On checking Marine Traffic website, I happened to notice that they have what looks like a major park and monument at place called Crysler's Farm. Turns out on investigation that this is the site of a major battle during the War of 1812, the outcome of which saved Montreal from being captured by us Americans. The battle happened on November 11, 1813. https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/battle-of-cryslers-farm  The Marine Traffic map shows that the park includes a miniature train ride that loops from the marina at Aultsville to the Pioneer Memorial. Unfortunately the train is out of commission for train/track repair since last year. There is an annual reenactment of the battle. There are plenty of videos and snaps on YouTube and FaceBook. It looks like a nice place if you like picnics, walking, bike riding, ship spotting, and reenactments. Looks like a very pleasant and relaxing place.

BarbStAubrey

I thought it was going to be a nice day but within an hour or so the rain came - still raining - hot, humid trying to hold off turning on the AC. Except for a load of laundry haven't really done much except say to my inner voice box - 'in a minute' - well I've pushed the limits of 'in a minute' and so I think its about time for a half hour nap while the AC gets the heavy humidity out and then a cup of tea and I should be able to move beyond staring out this kitchen window.
