Life's most precious moments are
Not all loud or uproarious. We all need that special
Quiet time in solitude, to listen to our hearts
And rest our minds.

The fly

There I was relaxing, resting my arms above my head,
When I heard this annoying buzzing noise circling the bed.
So I slowly turned, raised my head, and opened one eye,
And sure enough there it was, this most enormous fly.

The damn thing followed me down stairs, and as our lunch we ate,
He took a fancy to what I'd got and kept landing on my plate.
We both kept shooing him away, while from plate to plate he flits.
But all he did was Bzz at us, and made us feel like twits.

His Bzzzing became much louder, as if he was taunting us,
You could almost hear him laughing, as he went from Bzzz to buzz.
Then suddenly, deathly silence ! , it's gone as quiet as a ghost,
It seems our resident spider, has got that fly for his Sunday roast.

Return to Me
Dean Martin

Now I must journey back to You
See I've drifted to far
Hear You screaming
'All is forgiven
Return to Me
All is forgiven
Return to Me'

Miles and miles travelled
Preconceived ideas unraveled
How many days of pavement
Leave me facedown in gravel?

Today makes way for the ocean
A salt scrubbed baptism
Is this my Red Sea
Or is this the River Jordan?

Now I must journey back to You
See I've drifted to far
Hear You screaming
'All is forgiven
Return to Me
All is forgiven
Return to Me'

Sleeping under strange stars
On a pillow of stone
There above You stand
And promise to be with me home

Now I must journey back to You
See I've drifted to far
Hear You screaming
'All is forgiven
Return to Me
All is forgiven
Return to Me'

Gather me together
From where You've scattered
Cleanse with hyssop
And mend the tatters

Take me to the wilderness
Speak unto my heart
My mouth is an open grave
Spewing disaster

But You have promised so much more
To betrothed me to Yourself in faith

So I will pass through
The open door of hope
And upon You
Patiently wait

Good morning...
Rain today that will remove the snow that fell yesterday.
Laundry day and need to vacuum floors and what ever comes along. I have some scalloped potatoes that will be made into potato bacon soup for lunch.

Bubble, thank you for the new start. Quiet time in solitude gives us time to listen to our heart's special moments and people. The Fly is spot on!! Dean martin makes my heart beat justa little faster..love his singing.

Better get on with my day..all too soon it disappears.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Another that enjoyed your hard work, Bubble, thank you!  Was sitting here remembering back the April Fools Day when my daughter put sugar in the salt shaker before breakfast so all had to eat their plates full of sugared scrambled eggs. Think she was probably 8 or 10 & never did that again!

Warm up here but not hot. The redbud trees are showing a haze of color. I'm determined to get out with the battery pack today to do some watering. We are so DRY.

Amy, I'm going to buy more dirt & lettuce seeds this week, hope to eat fresh wilted salads before I leave this world!

Hope we don't have any Friends in the tornado areas, 'tis the season for them. Wishing all a Happy Day!

Happy April Oneth!

The Arkansas tornadoes got most of the publicity but there were 70 big wildfires in Oklahoma yesterday afternoon.  Gale force west winds blew dust across most of the state (News compared it to the 1930's and I could see the dust cloud across the western horizon as it approached).

Those set off wildfires that burned out of control because they spread so quickly when the heavily timbered cedar trees "exploded" in flame and sent embers along the smoke plumes that "settled" and caused "pop-up" fires which destroyed homes and other buildings..  (Do I get a prize for the "longest sentence?  ;D )
Traffic along I-35 between OKC and Guthrie, plus the turnpike to Tulsa, was stopped and rerouted. This was during commute time and caused quite a problem.

I could smell the dust but the two big fires in the metro area were far enough north and south of me that the smoke from them (which was blowing east/northeast) didn't affect my area.

Today is sunny, calm and chilly.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Amy, the first and third Saturdays of the month are senior food drops for those on aid. This is separate from Meals on wheels; I may have that name wrong, and the one with a weekly drop of up to six pounds of fresh produce a day, up to 30 pounds a week, provided to people of any age who are medically referred to the program.

Many singles cannot eat everything they're given, such as bimonthly 5-6 bags of dried beans, canned meat, or a federally processed brick of cheese that looks like an imitation Velveta. So, on those Saturdays, people gather by the donation tables in the security offices to shop the donations. These shoppers are mainly single men. I have not seen any of the referred produce land on those tables.

I barter with friends mainly for services for food such as game or fish. One of my favorites is a gallon-size jar of local honey or local chicken eggs. Sadly, this will end as the last holdouts plan to sell out and move into town this summer.

You can also get monthly meat and produce from local farms by working on the farm, paying, or some other exchange.

Good morning..

Starting out at 12° this morning with a high of 36°.  We ended up with a windy day that turned into a wicked wind in the night, I really thought we would lose our power.

A day of rest today..will just take the day as it comes.

Patricia, enjoyed your url, lots of selections for one to chose from . That is a good system you have with your bartering friends.

Shirley, my trugs are still covered in snow :( I do have all my seeds at the ready to plant, just need warm soil for their bed.

Callie ,hope the wild fires are now put out or at least contained.

Better get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Good morning; we had one inch of snow overnight but no wind or rain. Today's forecast is for more of the same. "Snow this morning will give way to lingering snow showers this afternoon. High around 30F. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow is 90%. Snowfall around one inch." The entire world is experiencing horrible weather as winter isn't going quietly.

Amy, this portion of the valley is prime farmland with many rivers and mountains. The four hundred miles over the mountains and through the lowlands between the Southeast and us are primarily small towns and multiple farms.

Was a windy & warm day in Kansas........BOY! Was it windy!  Managed to get out to the front of the house to move a little sprinkler to soak some of the flowers. Left the hoses connected since we aren't supposed to freeze hard this next week. One night at 30 degrees so will see if the gardeners around think I need to disconnect. Time to have #1 son turn the well/sprinkler system back on, he insists no danger of the heads freezing in this sandy soil. The yard was not MY department when Cas was alive & he never cooked/washed a dish or took care of kids. We liked it that way. At least my yard looks as good as all but one other.  :-[

My daughter heads back to St.Louis tomorrow & we did get a lot accomplished while she was here. She does the grocery shopping for me but my daughter-in-law will get anything I need, they all think I should not be driving.  ::)

Wishing all sweet dreams, God Bless. Tisie/Shirley

Good morning..

Starting out at 28° and it may rain later in the afternoon. We are off to the city ,Kyle's  bandsaw blade has finally arrived at the store. We will do a quick shop at Costco and then off to another store he want to go to.

I finally finished all the blocks 105 , each block has 9 pieces, making it 945
2 1/2 inch pieces. now to cut the remaining 80, 6 1/2 inch blocks. All in good time.

Patricia, sounds like beautiful country in the valley, I could handle that!

Jane, one more sleep.

Better get my city duds on..nice part of going to the city is coming home and out of my city duds.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning. We had our inch of snow, and it's dropped to zero for a low. I've picked up a runny nose but no other symptoms the last couple of days, and today is my bills and groceries day. I'm ready for some spring weather; before 2016, we'd always had snow melted and gone by Easter. Now it's more often to have lingering snow still.

Good evening. It's seven pm here, and I just returned home and put away my groceries. Amy, we're in the thirties for highs this week but due for cooler weather on Thursday. There's lots of ice out there, and I had to be careful walking. I slipped and fell on a snowy path once, but a nice man helped me. I was gone from 10 am to 6:30 pm but got most of what I needed, lunch out and the bills paid.

Jane,  you might want to skip this part. I rarely go to Walmart as it's out of my way, but I decided to see if they had a few items. Never again, there was no accountability, no service, and the service I had was grouchy. I was looking for underclothes, and the racks were filled with whatever size was handy and extended over my head more than two feet. Of course, no one was around, and the one clerk I found told me she didn't work in that department!

There were 15 self-service lanes and three other checkouts, of which only one was manned. The clerk rang up my purchase and then went on to the next customer! I bagged my groceries and will never return to that store. I don't know if this is regular practice, but I'm sure they're losing customers!

I went across the street and finished at Kroger's Fred Meyers. They were fully staffed and knowledgeable and insisted on accompanying me to the proper areas instead of directing me as I suggested. I made sure to use my pleases and thank yous and made a point of going to the closest manager after checkout and telling him that I was so pleased with the service I received, especially from the younger clerks.

In 2013 I retired from 49 years in the retail and hospitality field, ranging from clerk, department manager, cash office supervisor, and hotel manager. In three separate places, I worked twice at different times. My last position was in a tourist-driven wood mill and specialty products. So, I have some experience in sales.

Good morning..

Milder today 27° with the temp racing to 38°. A trip to town for more lumber and then home to clean.

Saw our first Sandhill crane fly by, long legs out back, looking for open water.Spring is slowly seeping in with wild life.

Jane, nice to "see" you home. Bet your own bed felt good!

Patricia, some help is no help at all. I do go to the management to say what great service an employee has given me and likewise if they need to be told about a not so  great service. Anywhere you go now it is pack your own bags.

My get up and go must have forgot to get up and go from my bed. Better wake it up and get  moving.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Gooe Morning Everyfriend!  Cooper has arrived, had his breakfast and is now waiting for his walk!

PATRICIA,  that store is definitely NOT living up to its promises!  And it's NOT serving as it should.  It needs to have a letter written to the General Management!  Not to the manager of that store...to the GENERAL MANAGEMENT.  I'm betting someone would be sent to observe and they'd be in trouble!  As a former employee, I apologize for them!

And now Cooper is beginning to remind me by voice that it's time for his walk!  It's 44º and sunny already!  Supposed to be in the 60s today!  Have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

I'm sorry to jump in with Patricia, Jane, but that has always been my experience with both the Walmart Superstore and the Walmart Market.(Two separate stores in my town.) Absent, or indifferent, help....even on one occasion, rude.  That is why I don't go to those stores now.  Nearly all of my grocery and personal shopping is done on-line with familiar and trusted dealers.  And, add to that, I don't have the physical ability to walk through those over-sized stores.

Sunny day here and supposed to warm up to 80 deg.  The flowers and ornamental trees are beautiful this year and, even better, the strawberry crop is here 2 weeks early and very abundant.  Yay!

Good late morning from a chill Interior at only 22 degrees this morning. I'm getting a late start today; I haven't even made coffee yet. Spring has stayed hidden this year, with snow expected today and temperatures to drop on Thursday. The streets and parking lots have thick corrugated ice, even with the city and stores' management salting them.

Amy, I carry my cloth bags; they're sturdier than plastic and more environmentally sound.

Jane, I'm also a former employee with Walmart as I worked in their fabric department the first year they opened here before moving on to Sears. I'm hesitant to say how long ago that was. :(   I appreciate the apology on behalf of the store and your idea; I'm thinking of doing that!

Phyllis, that is becoming more common here and not only with Walmart. Although not to that extent!

PATRICIA, If you do write a letter, let me know what happens.

PHYLLIS, all the stores are supposed to be supplied with wheel chairs with baskets for those who need them.  In our store, if you stop by the greeter and tell him/her that you need a riding cart, they will go and find you one.I know this for a fact because I have a friend who does it every time she goes to the store.

Gotta go get me some supper!  Cooper went home a bit ago and I'm getting a bit hungry.  Finish this day out to your pleasure!

Stopped by to say Good Night and Sweet Dreams. I had a number of long phone calls today plus health care person to check me out & like Lloyd, have to take my vitals that send themselves off to Alabama to be analyzed. I wake up about 3:00 or 4:00am to start all the routine & today never got back to nap, my eyeballs are dragging tonight.

The Walmarts I've always shopped at still went out of their way to be helpful even when not in their department, but my daughter has done most of my shopping (especially fresh produce) because she can shop faster when I'm not tagging along with oxygen tank. My daughter in law will shop for anything I ask her to get & each carry a "Mom Bag" so I am sure have whatever money needed at the time. My Kroger/Dillons stores sometimes have things when Walmart is out. I'm not ordering foods from Amazon or other online stores. So far we have it all worked out.  That's all folks!

Good morning..

Woke to the sound of thunder this morning and rain hitting the house. I have already gave Babe her storm med (thank you Jane) and her antibiotics. Lots of fun trying to sneak pills into a dog and these are not small. I cut them in half and tried wrapping in a piece of ham.once worked but your not fooling me again. What works now is a half slice of bread cut in two  lathered in peanut butter and put half a pill in each and roll up. Give to dog. then wash hands twice to get the pb smell off!! :2funny:

Klye has an appointment in town but we shall see what the weather is like ,hope the freezing rain stays away. Then work around home, cleaning and making some buttertarts.

Patricia, enjoying the music, have it playing in the background.

Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I have a feeling today isn't going to be a good day!  I couldn't get the coffee pot to work;  I looked out to see if the bird feeded needed filling and it was lying on the ground, broken and empty and the holder was beside it (I can't put the holder back up)!  We must have had one heckuva storm during the night.  It's all wet out there and STUFF is all over the place!

And on top of all that, I don't get Cooper today because Frankie is off!

And I can't find the recipe that I bought sliced, frozen carrots to make!

Do I sound lik a miserable old lady?  That's what I feel like in my mind today....and today just started!  Oh well!  Things do change!  I'll just have to hope for the best!  I think I'll get dressed and go for a walk.  I always feel better when I've had my first walk!

SHIRLEY, I'm sure glad to hear that SOMEONE has a good Wal-Mart store!  It sounds like you have things working for you!  And when I think about it, I guess things are working for me, too.  I have daughter Cathy to shop or take me and DIL Sarah to supply coffee (she works at Starbucks) and to take me to the farmers markets and stores when I need her.  Come to think of it, it's not so bad around htere!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning everyone! We're at plus 24 and cloudy, but again, no new snow. It looks gray, wet, and cold out there with some wind. The dregs of winter are upon us.

Bubble, I'm celebrating with you!

Amy, those recipes look good, but the condensed soup and sugar aren't for me. I haven't purchased sugar in months, now gravies and carbs, unfortunately...

Farrah used to start at loud noises but no longer does. I took her to the vet for one of her checkups, and he said her hearing was fine. She looks over at me to see how I react first. A few days back, the fire alarm went off, and I was startled with the classic shaken arms in front of face pose. She took off under the bed when I did that!

People are told upon move-in that the alarms are sensitive and to run the stove fan while cooking. Someone consistently disregards that and then opens their door to say, alls well, prompting the hallway alarms to go off and bringing the fire personnel. The ones I hate are the middle-of-the-night alarms.

My favorite way to cook carrots is using sheet pans in the oven with other root vegetables. I recently purchased a four-quart slow cooker, and I'm thinking of stew; carrots, sweet peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, meat, spices, good cracked pepper, and ground sea salt.

Thanks, Amy and Jane, for giving me that idea. My problem with recipes is that they make too much, and I rarely have room for leftovers, so I tend to make small amounts. When I shop monthly, I never buy the bags I used to. Now it is four or five onions, potatoes, or the smallest bag of carrots and celery.

My newest fave is apples. I brought three types of Chelah sweet minis, Honeycrisp, and a new one from Washington, SMIC Crisp. Before that, I was into oranges. I have to be careful not to fill up on fruit snacks and not eat regular meals.

This has been an interesting day. Thunder, rain and replay after replay!! Power went out a few times but then decided to stay out for a bit, just when I was ready to put the buttertarts in the oven! Power came back on ,tarts went in oven, tea got made and water ran to wash dishes, hands etc.
Lots of folks without power and I am sure more will be with the lines heavily coated in ice.

I FOUND IT!  I found the carrot casserole!  I'm thinking of making it tomorrow.  If it turns out as good (and as easy) as I think it is, I'll post it in recipes.  I also copied the Shipwreck Casserole that you posted, AMY!  It looks good, too!

I'm still catching up on the newspapers I missed while I was at my sister's.  I think I'm down to one left from before but, of course, I'll be getting another one tomorrow!  I don't want to miss anything!.  Also did some laundry and have more to do tomorrow.  Changed the doggy cover on the sofa so I have to wash the one I took off.  Maybe I'll change the bed....and maybe I won't!

The temp got up into the 70s for most of the day today.  I took my walk without a jacket but with a long sleeved shirt.  I could have used short sleeves!  And it's supposed to be the same tomorrow!  I had the windows open today and it felt great in the house!

Now I'm thinking about closing my eyes!  I have to be up early for Cooper tomorrow and I have to finish the laundry tomorrow.  I also have to empty all the trash cans because I have to put the trash out before I cork off tomorrow night!

I love the "granny3jpg" cartoon that donklan posted that suddenly showed up beside this.  I know exactly what she means!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

My friend and I are of to the city for her appointment. I bet the town will be busy so it will be nice to get back home.

We lost power off and on to the point where I gave up resetting the clocks. The rain sure gave the snow a punch down  . I did manage to get the buttertarts made in between power outages.

Better get my got to town clothes on.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Cooper has arrived and he's had his breakfast and is telling me it's time for a walk.  So I better get dressed and take him.  We had rain off and on all night and we're supposed to get more today.  Right now it's really foggy out there.

Have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

AMY, you have a safe trip to the city and back!

OOPS! I wasn't thinking  :tissue: ............was in a hurry to visit that important room when taking a water pill.....came back to see if I posted and did NOT! Of course I had more to say than I should, went down memory lane. I'll be back later, sneaked down to the basement to turn the 2 front zones on since the wind is not blowing (IN KANSAS?) and did not get the hard freeze promised.

HEY, the text was still on the clipboard so all's not lost!

GOOD MORNING, WORLD OF FRIENDS! Didn't get the hard freeze as warned & right now the wind is not blowing hard so I am going to sneak down to the sprinkler system control box & set it to water the front 2 zones for about 40 min & if wind still not blowing may have the run the same 2 zones again to get the roots down deep.

Want to tell you, Bubble, that thru the years I have so enjoyed celebrating each holiday with you and mouth waters at the memories of the meals you shared with us. What have you heard from "our" Santa recently? Do you suppose that old bus could make one more round the world trip so we could enjoy seeing each other?  Fun times!

Hey, girls, I have a small Presto cooker so old I'd hate to admit. It has a rack on bottom that holds all the water under & will cook a couple packages of carrots in a couple minutes.... mine get some celery leaves chopped up on top and when they are fork tender I add some brown sugar & let them bubble a couple seconds while everyone stands in line to clean them up. Mom called them "candied carrots".  I cook my sweet potatoes in the same pot, it is a small pressure cooker & has earned it's keep, for sure.

Better get moving, that wind still is NOT blowing!

Shirley, your missing post is in Photos.

We were promised a cooldown for today, and it showed. We dropped from mid-thirties to plus seven for a low and a high, plus eighteen. We won't see a warm-up or the plus thirties again until the fifteenth! And the wind has scoured all the new snow, and we're back to ice again.

I made a wonderfully simple stew last night, just a beefsteak, carrots, potatoes, onions, three sweet peppers, orange, yellow, and red; freshly ground black pepper, sea salt, and various other seasonings. I ate the entire beefsteak and most of the rest! I left it for six hours in the slow cooker. Sometimes simple is best.

I was talking to Claire this morning, and she was talking about her herb garden next to her kitchen door and how she grows all of her seasonings possible, and how she uses them. We then moved on to this summer's goals; hers showed her practicality. "My goal is not to buy anything new and to put together a collection from items I already own – to create a look and ensure everything is clean, good-looking, and mended if necessary." This from a woman who's always complimented on how she looks and her clothes-yet she rarely spends money...makes you think.

A good Maundy Thursday to all and a Happy Passover to you BUBBLE.

I am finally able to post in this folder‼️ No doubt it was me and nothing else, but for the life of me I could not figure it out.  I could read....just not post.

Thank you again, AMY for your caring email.  I have missed you all and hope to do a better job of posting from now on.  Sadly, not much going on other than doctor appointments and you all have your own to worry about🤪😩‼️

We did enjoy a wonderful cruise, however we had terrible weather.  Very rough seas and no sunshine at all🤣‼️

We managed to test positive for Covid the last full day on the ship.  We did not feel that bad but had to cancel our stay in San Francisco with our son and dil as we did not want to share our sickie bug with them😩😩. The straw that sort of broke the camels back was our stateroom got flooded at 3:30AM on our last night.  They helped move us to another room, but it was quite the nightmare😩🤪

We flew directly home and then spent nearly three weeks coughing our heads off and all the stuff that goes with it.  I finally called our doc and he prescribed a z-pac for us.  BTW that last minute flight cost us double the amount we paid for the round trip😡

My iPad died on me so we bought a new one and it is finally set up.  Everyday we find some else that need attention to load on it.

Enough of this.  I hope you are doing well and looking forward to nicer weather just like me‼️

Jenny

Hello there, Everyfriend!  It's been a pretty good day around here today.  Cooper came and we had our two nice walks and some loving up on the couch and some snacking and some following around the house.

I finished the laundry...5 loads altogether!  It's all folded and put away.  And I made the carrot casserole and had it with some chicken for supper.  If I make it again, I'm thinking I might just throw the chicken right into the casserole.  There was plenty of room in the dish and all it would have needed was a bit more juice.

Today was a kind of foggy day but warm.  It got into the mid 70s and I walked without a jacket again!  Lots of neighbors out working on their yards!  My yard guy is going to work on mine next week.  He's good and he's pretty cheap.  He's not raising his prices this year.

JENNY, it's so nice to see you back!  I'm sorry for all the bad stuff that you've had to deal with lately but it sounds like you enjoyed your trip anyway!

I better finish up all the odds and ends and get myself to bed before my eyes enter the clunk shut stage!  I have to be up early to meet Cooper again tomorrow.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God Bless!

Good morning..

This weekend is to be a nice one , all sunny days with temsp reaching into the 50's by Sun.
Yesterday went well for my friend and she doesn't have to go back until May.We didn't do a lot of shopping like we normally do and made it home in good time.

Today,I need to bake bread and cook up some hamburg for the dogs. Callie domestic duties need to be do plus vacuum seal some pork tenderloin that was bought yesterday.

Jenny, good to see you. That is one vacation I don't think you will forget! That cruise line should reimburse  you the cost of the trip! Tell them you normally go out to swim, you don't swim inside in your room.

Jane, thank you, roads were good  and traffic early in the morning was light. Please share your recipe.

Tome, Lloyd has been in but I think he has trouble posting. Rich has left him a link to get in, in the shoutbox.

Patricia, there was very little snow in the city, robins bobbing about and we saw that the osprey is back in her nest!

Better put an egg in my boot and beat it.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Today is off and sailing!  Cooper arrived at about 6:50, had his breakfast and told me in no uncertain terms that it was time for a walk and Boy, was he ever right!

When we got back, I got a birthday card ready for my Great Granddaughter in Oklahoma.  She'll be 6 on the 13th.

Today I have to go get a haircut and a card for my grandson and a new birdfeeder.  My feeder blew over and broke in a million pieces.  I think I'm going to have my yard guy restore it.  He's also a fixer-upper and he's good at it!

AMY, good for your neighbor!  Sounds like she's on the mend!

Now I'm off to the showers and get dressed to meet the day!  I wish you all a good one...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

P.S.  I'll go post the recipe!

Good morning from an Interior that has slipped backward as I awakened to minus fifteen. We won't see another warming until the fifteenth. Everything is gray, black and white outside, with the snow almost gone and the corrugated ice advancing.

I have no plans to go anywhere and only a few domestic duties, so I may take it easy today and forego that shopping trip I was mulling.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's 32º this morning, mostly cloudy and only heading for a high of 53!  Cooper might be coming later to spend the night and the rest of the week because Frankie will be vacationing in Florida with her mother.  Her flight leaves early Sunday morning and if I know Frankie, she'll be closing her suitcase minutes before Cathy picks her up to take her to the airport.  Our nearest airport is in Harrisburg....60 plus miles from here!

Did you check out the carrot recipe?  It's a keeper!

After my walk this morning, I think I'll stay inside until the temp makes it out of the COLD zone!

I think I better get moving!  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

A beautiful day here, starting out at 14° and going to  52°.

Hung a loaf of bread on the neighbours door before going into town, didn't want to disturb them as he worked late in the sugar bush.  Yesterday the laundry blew out in no time on the line.

I hear crow hollering for his meal better go throw his food out for him and his friends.

H A P P Y 🐣 E A S T E R

Today would have been my dads 99th birthday if he were still here with us.  These "firsts" after we loose our loved ones are always hard😩😥 There is comfort in knowing my parents are together again, but I sure do miss our daily chats and feel his absence 😩

We have a beautiful sunny and warm day ahead and it is going to be very much enjoyed ‼️

I thank you for the kind words, encouragement and welcome back comments‼️ It is great to be here with you all❣️

They were able to have the annual Easter morning service at our famous Red Rocks amphitheater and I am sure those who were there enjoyed it very much.  I have not attended in a very long time and doubt I ever will again, but I can tell you it is a very moving experience.  One can watch it live on the Red Rocks video, but it just isn't the same as being there 🤪

I see no one commented on the tornado near where Lloyd lives TOME....I do hope he is alright 🙏

On Friday, I did see my cardiologist and she gave me only GOOD NEWS from the results of my recent Echo and heart monitor. She is so happy with all of the results and I am too....and very thankful 🙏. All of the tests they have done on me; heart and pulmonary were to find out WHY I need oxygen?  I personally think it is totally to do with the thinner air here in this altitude‼️ I have proved this many times when I go to lower altitude I do not need oxygen‼️ Thankfully their tests have proven my heart and lungs are good.  Now if I can get some relief from my back and neck pain I might just be able to move on to a more comfortable life🤪 Don't we ALL want this? Life can sure be a struggle, can't it?

I hope EVERYFRIEND has a good day and hopefully spent with loved ones and friends.

Jenny

Good morning, plus one here, and we had an inch of snow overnight. We're not warming up until the fifteenth, according to forecasts. Winter is still staying unusually long here. In the past, up until 2016, all the snow was gone, and we were in the fifties by Easter.

More bad news.....Snow will continue over most of the Eastern Interior into Monday.
This will bring several inches of snow to much of the Interior
east of Tanana through Monday, including Fairbanks.

Areas of the Interior northeast of Northway, Twelvemile Summit
and Coldfoot could see storm total snowfall of 4 to 8 inches by
Monday.

Areas along the Alaska Highway east of Dot Lake and through Alaska
Range Passes have northwest winds gusting to 30 mph along with
blowing and drifting snow that will continue through early
Monday.

Snow is expected to taper off Monday afternoon across the Interior,
but another round of snow is possible across the Eastern Interior
from Tuesday into Wednesday.

Ashes to take away this morning, then home to chase dog hair bunnies. Soup and tapioca should be made for lunch plus a pot of baked beans ,that should do it.

We had a busy day here with yard work and taking  another load of ashes to the dump. Back yard is slowly losing the snow covering and I noticed the rhubarb peeking!!

We are off to a little town this morning, they have a wholesale store and the general public can also shop you just don't get the lower pricing. I want to stock up on bread bags and other items for us and friends.

Good Morning!  It's nice to come in here and see someone else!  I miss all the people who used to post in here!

Cooper and I had a good night last night!  I was only up once and I slept pretty well.  He snuggled and I had to hold my ground or he'd have snuggled me right out of the bed!

I think Cathy might be heading for the Amish grocery store and right down the street from it is an Amish kitchen store.  They show some things on line but they don't sell on line.  However, they do have two things I've been looking at and I'm going to see if Cathy might make a stop there before we get groceries!

AMY, I didn't check out last night because I was just plain worn out!

I wish Everyfriend a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Take care, All.

Good morning; nothing new to add for today; it's minus ten, and more wind and light snow are forecast for today and Friday. I've spent the past few mornings commiserating with local friends on our meet and greet mornings and spending my evenings curled up with a good book. Between that, I'm amid domestic chores and peeking in on the computer.

I'm uncertain about summer; we seem to be getting more winter than usual this year, and even the wildlife is staying in their dens.

Its one of those Bah Humbug type of months.

Day went well, weather was great for driving ,no glaring sun!

We are experiencing high winds at the moment... just hope the power stays on.  Folks in Quebec should have their power on after being without 4 -5 days. At least it wasn't bitter cold for them.

Jane, you did sign in, in the evening last night but didn't sign in in the morning..
Edited to add posted a radish recipe for you in whats for dinner.

Patricia, they are talking mosquitos and swarms of them here this year.nasty little critters as are the blackflies that seem to have post hole augers for bills!

Our mosquitos are so big and vicious that they're referred to, not so jokingly, as Alaska's state bird! :(

Black or biting flies aren't found here, but we do have what I assume is a basic black outdoors fly that is more interested in the garbage than people.

We, unfortunately, have all types of bees, not the honey bees, those we welcome! wasps, hornets, and a tiny biting black bug, noseeums.

Well, I guess I got a little mixed up about when I posted, but AMY straightened me out!

I just got home from granddaughter, Kiran's high school chorus concert!  It was wonderful.  I loved all the songs and the kids were so good! But it's been a busy day and I'm bushed.  Cathy and I went to an Amish Kitchen Store and then Wenger's Amish Grocery Store and then made a quick stop at Davy's.  She brought me home and then ran to get her groceries put away.  It got up to 74º today!  I loved it!

Now I'm ready to hit the haystack!  Phyllis, it was nice to see you pop in.  If you make the carrot casserole, let me know how you like it.  I think it's a keeper for me!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

P.S. I might not check in tomorrow morning.  I have an early Dr. Appt about 15 miles away pretty early.  Till I take care of Cooper and get myself ready, I won't have much free time!

Going to be another lovely day with temps hitting 70°.

Taking vehicle in this morning to get my winter tires off and summers put on. Then back home to take Kyle for blood work then I can stay home.
Patricia, when the blackflies bite you don't feel it till the blood trickles down. Everyone looks forward to Spring but not the biting bugs it brings.

Shirley, are you winning with the lines on your oxygen tank?

Phyllis, hope all is well with you and David.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

It's supposed to hit 82º this afternoon!  We have a fire weather watch until 8 p.m  I don't think it would be around where I live but we do have a lot of wooded areas here!

Good morning from an Interior where winter refuses to let go. We are plus fifteen, and wind and snow, three inches so far, cover that ridged ice. I wonder if we'll find ourselves in the fall when that snow finally leaves.

Lloyd is still trying to post in the Problems section.

Jane, you're Up and "at 'em" early today. Do you ever spend a day simply lazing around the house?  ;)

Amy, I wouldn't care for those black flies. Our mosquitos feel like a needle jab that you never saw coming.

I've some domestic duties today; thanks, Callie, for that helpful phase, but not much else.

I need to edit that I was attempting to say that I didn't have much else to do and NOT SAYING I was only thanking Callie for more than that phrase! Callie is a vertical fount of useful sayings!

I got aholde on the phone with the persion that has my track hoew. he never wanted to bring it home but finley agreed to. he gave all sort of excuses about all the proubelems with It. but I told him it is mine and I want it back home. I told him me and my son's father in law is a good macanick and we can fix it up. If i get it home we can get it fixed and I can reach over the feince and push the big trees over and then pick them up and lift them over the feince to our side. I might be abel to buy the 8 or 10 acers of teimber land that adjoins us. and get the big saw logs and fix my saw mill back up and make some lumber out of theme. I am in the progress of of making some rabbit cages and getting some rabbits (tame  white ones)  you know they are the other white meeat.

Patricia,   I was preparing to say that sentence be read two ways but you edited before I could do so.  :smitten:

I read posts every day but try to wait until I have something different to talk about instead of listing off the same old daily routine.

The past two weeks have challenged my ability to adapt!    Appointments cancelled  - others rescheduled - business needing taken care of - and an unusual (for me these days) family Easter.  I actually went "out of town"!!!!
I went to church here with #2 son/dil after which we went to their house for lunch and to change clothes.
Then we met #1 son/dil - plus two Grands and "Plus Ones" about 30 miles away at a "fishin' hole" where they have a trailer.  Since everyone has aged out of an Easter Egg hunt, #1/dil had "hidden" different kinds of drinks in bottles and cans around the yard. We were given an empty six-pack carton and directed to fill it with the cans/bottles listed on the carton.  It was fun.  The rest of the afternoon was spent just "hangin' out".
I got home in time to watch the two Sunday night PBS shows I like.

This week has been busy so far but it looks as if I'll have some "leisurely" time until Sunday.  Miss Ellen is maid-of=honor for her college roomie and this Saturday is the Bachelorette Event so she's flying in for a long weekend.  She has asked for a family dinner on Sunday and I'm included.  :smitten:

Son has offered to come over next and plant my "pot garden" so I need to make a list of flowers.  The Hostas, Hydrangea and lilies are coming up in the one flower bed that has perennials "in the ground" but, so far, no color is showing.

And that's what's going on in my world.

Good morning..

Today the temp is almost going to tickle the 80's. far cry from the -30°!! No sweatshirt today, just T shirts then back to sweatshirt and coat after the weekend.
We are off to get blood work done this morning early. Then home to those lovely domestic duties (I ,too thank you Callie) gives class to housework :)

Callie sounds like you had a fun family time and I loved the "new" Easter egg hunt.

Patricia, thankfully those blackflies don't live too long...one day is one too many for me though.

Jane,I have to check my rhubarb juice that I canned last year to see if it needs to be replenished. Did you see the recipe for your baked radishes and onions in whats for dinner?

Better get the day started.

Enjoy your day and stay  safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I didn't check out last night so I don't have to check in this morning.

My trip to the "Over 65" Dr. yesterday was good!   I like the Dr. I have and by switching to this place, I'll always have the same Dr. when I go.  And she told us she took this particular assignment because she gets the same patients every time and there's no limit on the amount of time she can spend with us.  And she proved that yesterday!  She also answered some questions that had been sort of passed over lately.  I really LIKE this gal!

When I got home, I got some "stuff" done and then I sort of collapsed!  I still took Cooper for his walks and managed to make some of "Jim's Egg Thingys" and put some stuff away. Cooper got fed and I ate leftovers and we both went to bed early.  I feel at least 99.9º better this morning!

Our temp is at 60º right now and heading for a high of 87 by this afternoon.  April is doing it's crazy weather thing again!  It's hard to decide what to wear these day.

CALLIE, I loved the "ADULT EASTER EGG HUNT"!  Your family is very creative!  Nice to have them all together.

AMY, sounds like your weather is chnging for the better!  Keep up the good times!  I'll go over and look at the recipe when I finish here!

LLOYD, sounds like you found us!  Keep us around!  Also sounds like you have lots in mind to keep you busy!

PATRICIA,  I wish you SUMMER soon!  It sounds like you need it!  I guess I know why I wasn't born in Alaska!  I don't think I could take so much WINTER!

I just found out I'm probably going to lose my "bedfellow" today.  Cathy and Craig are on the way to Harrisburg to pick up Frankie and I'm sure she'll want him home with her tonight!  Dang!  It was a good week.  He's good company!

I'm going to try making some of the doggie cookies like I made for Christmas.  Cooper loves them!

Now I'm off to get "stuff" done!  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

AMY, I got the recipe and I have everything but the radishes to try it.  Cathy and I have already hit the stores this week so it'll have to wait until next wee.  I put radishes on my list so I won't forget!  It sounds really good!

Presently, in the Interior, or at least my portion of it, it's minus three and sunny. No cloud cover in winter means all the heat escapes, and we remain cold. Friday, we'll finally be back in the thirties, but nothing spectacular until the twentieth, when we finally make it into the plus forties. We are entirely behind the eightball temperature-wise with the coldest weather I can recall for this time of year!

Jane, this is not spring weather, or at least not the spring I've become familiar with in my past seventy-some years. In the past, we could count on 50-60 degrees on Easter or shortly afterward. We've been volleying new weather records since 2016.

I'm glad you had good company with Cooper this past week, and I know that Frankie looks forward to seeing him again.

Amy, you and Jane are enjoying some nice weather. According to the projected weather forecast, we won't see sixty until May fourteenth! :( Everyone is beyond grumpy this year. It's the main topic of conversation.

I finished my "domestic duties"  ©Callie; yesterday and have a few computer-related tasks I've been avoiding for today.

Lloyd is back in the problems site, "Good Morning everyone. well I went to bed Late and slept in this morning,so slow getting moving. well I have been grading in the bad ruts i made in the front yard when I got the motor home stuck in it,Nancy is going to town to get a few things we need. it is 59º and clear. I got my wood chipper moved out by the brush pile. Sil said he has a axel we can put on it.I am going to chipp up the brush pile , then try re running the chips through a second tim to make them finer, hope it worhs good. Have a good day just like you like.

Lloyd"

I'm almost ready to hit the haystack!  I did get a very short nap today and that's only because I fell asleep in front of the TV.

Frankie is safely home and boy was Cooper ever happy to see her!  She hung around about 15 or twenty minutes but wouldn't even stay long enough to eat something!  She doesn't have to work tomorrow so she and Cooper will have a good day together!

I got the stuff together to make some doggie treats and I think that might be on tomorrow's agenda.  Of course, things do sometimes change so I could be wrong about that.  I wish I had the radishes because every time I run across that recipe I get hungry for them!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

Sweet dreams to all.

Good morning...

Busy day ahead...neighbour is coming over to  clean the chimneys . Then we are off to the dump taking 7 huge bags of pines needles and the last of the ashes. Then home to bake bread .

Jane, do you plant radishes in your flower garden? I used to plant lettuce as the border on the flower garden, the lighter green made a contrast for the flowres and you can nibble away on it.

Patricia, it got way to hot for me with temps in the 80's, I prefer them around 70° This is above normal temps and we will be back into cooler ones next week.

Jenny, enjoy your Doodle sitting .

Better start the day before it gets too hot.........didn't think I would be saying that so early in the month!

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's going to be another hot one here today, too!  It's already 55º and heading for a high of86º!  It's early for that here, too, AMY but in April, we take what comes...expected or unexpected.

I'm all ready to make the doggie treats.  I have everything out.  Of course, I think I better get dressed before I start that.  I'm kind of loafing around this morning since I don't have any four-legged company!

Have fun with your Doodle, JENNY! And enjoy the weather!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning, today, it's partly cloudy, plus 2. Tonight, will be the first day out of the early twenties for a high as we slide back into the plus thirties, albeit the lower ones. The snow has covered the ice and looks dismal out my window.

Amy, you and Jane are lucky to have a more temperate spring climate. We will have to wait for May to say the same.

Nothing new here. We had a building-wide notice reminding everyone of the rules and regulations for living here. It seems garbage bags and building carts are left in the elevators with the buttons pushed for the first floor, and people ignore listed quiet times. There has been a meeting about opening more of the first floor for mentally disabled adults to live independently, and there were good arguments, pros and cons, because of the scarcity of these types of housing.

Well, four of us made it here today!  Not much to clean up in the Soda Shoppe but I'll put the lights out when I leave.  If anyone else comes by and you turn on the lights, be sure to turn them off when you leave.

I had a busy day and I'm very tired!  Cooper won't be here tomorrow until just before 10:30 in the morning so I don't have to get up and rush around in the morning.  I don't know if that's good or bad.  If he's here early, I get an early start and seem to move better all day!  When he doesn't come until later (or not at all) I seem to keep putting stuff off til later and it sometimes doesn't get done at all.

The temperature did hit 86º today and we had about 7 hours in the 80s.  I broke out a short sleeved shirt and a pair of shorts for the late afternoon!

I wish you ALL a pleasant night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

Good morning..

Well ,we went from freeze to fry with the weather and we have broken past temp records!! We will have today in the 80;s then the temp plummets back to colder numbers.
Last night was the first time I went to bed with a chorus  singing in the background.......a chorus of frogs!! Folklore says the frogs have to be froze in 3 times before the weather stays nice.

More baking today , the cookie department is down to one lonely cookie in the container.

Better get at it before the temp rises too much.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning to the one who beat me here.  Thanks, for opening up the Soda Shoppe, AMY. And Good Morning to all who stop by later!

One of the things my new Dr. discovered is that my blood sugar is a bit high so I'm concentrating on keeping it down in time for my next visit.  Therefore, I'll keep my fingers out of your cookie jar and I've got all my candy on HOLD.  So far (three days) I'm doing pretty well.  I've managed to pass it by and I haven't hidden it.  THIS IS A TEST!

Our weather is supposed to get into the mid-70s today but it's going to be a rainy day!  Seems I'll be taking walks in the rain because rain doesn't bother The Cooper-Snoop!  He doesn't like high winds or high heat but he doesn't mind rain or snow!

I didn't get the doggie biscuits made so that's on today's agenda.  Cooper will be watching me every minute.  I sometimes wonder how he knows if I'm cooking for him or for me.  My dogs seemed to know that too.

I guess I better get dressed and get started or my day will disappear like yesterday did!  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning; I've had a late start as my morning meet and greet ran long. It's fifteen above, and our high will be in the thirties, so the fine coating of snow will remain with no clouds.

Today will be a quiet one.

Farrah has been so hungry lately, expecting her dry food kept up and 2 ounces of wet food each morning with treats in the afternoon. Last month she had her first illness in her seven years with me.

She had a case of the runs and spitting up while not eating or sleeping. I was ready to rush her to the vet when it cleared up. Since then, she's been hungry.

We will (not) be enjoying hot weather today and then back into cooler (liveable) weather. Calling for rain and storms for the next two days, that will make the grass grow!!

A day of rest here ,will enjoy my time sewing.

Jane, you must of been tired right down to your shoelaces last night as you didn't say good night. If you eat anything sweet before you get your blood work done it will show up in the test. I don't eat after 6 pm if my blood work in being done the next day.

Enjoy your day  and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'll be getting ready for church soon.  Son Phil is dropping me off today and friends will bring me home.

The weather here is still warm.  Today is predicted to reach 81º and right now it's at 56.  A summery start for us!

AMY, I was tired last night.  But I got a lot done yesterday.  It was so nice here that Cooper spent about 3/4 of his time outside, part of it on walks and the other part just lying around outside.  Once when I check on him and asked him if he was ready to come in, he looked at me for a few seconds, turned away and just stretched out on the ground!  I took that for a "NO"!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good Morning Everyfriend!  This could turn out to be a busy day...or I could end up just loafing around and playing with Cooper!  I'll let you know later...maybe!  Boy! it sure looks like my life has entered the "IF" mode!

I do have my first load of laundry in the washer.  I stripped the bed as soon as I got out of it because I knew it needed it and I didn't want to take a chance on passing that up.  So that's one thing on my list that WILL get done today.

Cooper isn't supposed to be here until 11:15 today but Frankie said she's going to try to get going early and come over here and give him a bath before she goes to work!  I'll be sort of surprised if that happens.  But if it does, the living room couch covers will join today's laundry.  He REALLY needs a bath!

Our weather is a little cooler and a little wetter today that it was yesterday.  Cooler will make Cooper walk longer and wetter won't stop him!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning! Late start this morning, my meet and greet overran  and I just poured my first cup of coffee after filling Farah's food and water and making the bed.

It's plus 19 outside and cloudy, with an expected high of plus 30.  I have no plans besides possibly doing a couple of loads of laundry if the rooms are free. Two things govern the five laundry rooms in this building.

Many people do their laundry on the weekends; if one room is in use, they will check the other four. Monday is another  bad day as all cleaners slash caretakers have the weekend off, so the caretakers are doing the empty machine search on Monday.
Title: Re: : Soda Shoppe for April 1 , 2023

Well, it turned out to be a busy morning.  I washed everything that was on the bed and put it all back so I can go to bed clean tonight.  Then I (finally) mixed up the doggie cookies and got them baked and packed up.

Cooper arrived during the packing and he seemed to know exactly what they were and started sniffing around.  Then he helped me clean up the crumbs off the floor. Then we took a walk and brought home the mail.

And while I was right in the middle of that, Cathy called to see if I wanted to go to WM.  I did but I couldn't.  So she came and got my list and went for me.  And right after she left, I realized it was almost 1:30 and I had not had my lunch.

PHYLLIS and CALLIE,  I've had days that I could identify with your cartoon lady but today wasn't on of them!!

The only other thing I'm doing today is putting together a casserole for supper.  But the recipe say:  Prep time 15 minutes, bake time 40 minutes".  The bake time is probably right but I've found that the prep time needs to be (at least) doubled!  I think their prep time is from having everything on the counter, opened and ready to go.  Mine includes getting it out of the cupboards, fridge or freezer, opening cans, getting pans out of the cupboard and waiting for the stove to heat.  Also draining and washing anything that needs it.  There's no one "off stage" here to do all that stuff!

PATRICIA, it's actually a bit "warm" where you are today!

RICK, things are moving along with your eyes.  Be patient.  Time will pass and it will be better!

I better get back to work or I won't be finished in time to watch Mannix at 7 p.m.  And maybe I won't be able to watch him even if I sitting right in front of the TV.  My eyes might be closed!

Keep on enjoying your day, Everyfriend!

Tap and hold the gray drag handle icon that is in the middle of this line. If you want to keep using the app that is to the right of the split screen, drag this handle all the way toward the left of your screen.

Good Morning/Afternoon!  I'm sorry to be late but I've been on a search.  I have my grandson's fiancee's permission to wear the same dress to her wedding that I wore to my granddcaughter's wedding and I've been on a search.  Yesterday, I looked everywhere I thought it might be and didn't find it.  So as soon as I was dressed, I started the search again...didn't find it!  So I got dressed, took my morning walk and did some deep thinking while I walked.  When I came back I read the paper and thought some more.  Then I went on another search.  I FOUND IT!  And Cathy came over to see me in it and help me decide if it could be made a tad smaller,  IT CAN AND DAUGHTER, CHRISTY CAN DO IT!  I'm ready for the wedding and it's not until February!  How's that for timing.

ALso, Frankie and Cooper were here because he needed a bath and she only has a shower so he gets them here!  He's clean and she went to WM and is picking up a couple things for me and getting a bunch of stuff for herself.  I'm taking a deep breath!

I made a new casserole and it makes a lot so I did it in two smaller pans and I have one to freeze and one to eat!

RICK, last week I was thinking about packing away sweaters and sweat shirts.  This week I'm glad I didn't get around to that!

I've been thinking about Shirley also and wondering if I should try to get her phone number.  I have her address but no phone.

PATRICIA, you seem to have a very good relationship with your friends!  That sounds so nice!  Keep it up!

Now I'm going to post this so I have it going before Frankie gets back and I get side-tracked!  I wish you all a good day...Better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning...

Yesterday was a long day and tiring day. Everything went well ,she is minus her canines  and seems to be doing well this morning. Soft foods for a week for her then she can have her treats (Milkbone) Jesse surprised me by behaving warned Dr A that he can't hold his licker and sure enough he washed her face.
We did run into and out of snow on the way up and back in places but today shows no sign of snow, just cooler livable weather.

Not  sure what is happening today , just know I won't be tackeling a lot.

Jane, hope you can make contact with Shirley.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm on my way out to breakfast with my high school classmates.  There will be anywhere from 4 to 12 of us let
ft in this area who will come and we never know how many!  But it sure is nice to keep in touch.  In past years, there might even be an out-of-towner visiting but that doesn't seem to happen lately.  I guess we're not travelers any more!

When I get home, I'll try giving Shirley a call if she hasn't popped in!

Have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

P.S.  My sister Margie could use some prayers today.  She's having surgery on her hands!

I'm home, had hoped Jane would report for me but not sure I made good sense when we talked (thank you for calling, Jane). I am in a state of shock (as well as my kids) to having been kicked out of the hospital when I thought the whole purpose was to do at least ONE procedure to fix a valve.  After draining half or more fluid off (more than 30 lbs) plus all my blood, seems the valves are now working as should except one hardest to get to still leaking pretty bad. No talk of if-when or what they plan to do. My ear is stopped up & that seems to be caused by lack of fluid in it, got a sore back & long list of whines in case anyone still reading. I am off to bed now but realize 3 hours sleep at a time is all I've been getting for months.

Wishing all sweet dreams & God Bless. Never know what tomorrow will bring. Love y'all, Tisie/Shirley  OH, THE E-MAIL TISIE0S@ YAHOO. HAS LOCKED ME OUT SO I WILL GET A NEW ONE FIXED FOR GMAIL SOON. Night, Rick!

Picking up lumber this morning then home. Kyle is going to make two more trugs to have on hand to sell.
Still cool here 28° with hopes it will warm up as the day goes on.  Picked up chicken breasts and more rice yesterday, cooked the chicken up in little bite sized pieces for Babe and she is eating them ok.no problem.

I know now why my legs go to sleep when Jesse lays on my lap, vet weighed him and the pup is 99lbs!!

Better get ready to go..

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Sunny morning here but rainy and cool over the weekend.  I have to make a grocery list and send it in to the store so David can pick them up.  Other than that, nothing planned.

Take care, All.

Starting out at 35° and may go to 65° today. Calling for rain all weekend here which is fine as the west is getting more snow!

Working around home and may get more sewing done , I am anxious to see how these blocks come together now.

For the first time we have lived here I heard and saw a killdeer. Will have to be on the lookout as they nest on the ground usually in the garden.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning; we only caught the end of a storm that stayed in the mountain passes. It was forecasted to be five to seven inches of snow, thirty to forty mph winds and possible trees down, and widespread outages.

First, they said Friday, then Saturday, and now they're saying overnight into Monday.

We'll see.

Good Afternoon,

Oklahoma bounces around from hot to cold with tornadoes in between (13 confirmed last Wednesday with lots and lots of damage)! None in my area, thank goodness.
I just open the door in the morning and look out to see what I should wear that day.

I remember an old Peter, Paul and Mary song about drag racing.  At one point, one of the guys intones, "The. engine. is. internally. hemorrhaging."    I think that's what my a/c - furnace thermostat may be doing.  :D

Safe travels, Jane.

A good Monday morning HELLO to EVERYFRIEND 🦋

I am very unhappy with myself for not posting more😩 I miss you all so much🥰

Our time in the 'city by the bay' was WONDERFUL ‼️ Needless to say I did NOT want to leave but had to get back to help son Dave and get to the orthopedic doctor to find out the results of my cervical MRI.

UNFORTUNATELY, the MRI showed significantly more issues with my spinal stenosis and the doctor's suggestion is a ACDF surgery.
(Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion) I agreed to go forth with the surgery but after reading more about it I am not sure, so will do more research on this. I will have the epidural in my lower back this Friday with hopes that it will work and give me some relief🙏

SHIRLEY, it is good to see that you are back and are doing a bit better after your hospital stay. You are in my thoughts and prayers always.

JANE, I do hope your sisters hand surgery went well and she is recovering well🙏  Losing our friends NEVER gets easier....as it is a reminder that many are going to continue to pass and then our own demise😩😥 So glad you decided on the dress you are going to wear for the wedding.  How nice your Cindy can take it in so it will fit you nicely. She is a GEM for sure‼️

AMY, the weather seems to be very fickle these day everywhere🤪 We are currently in a storm warning that implies we are going to really get dumped on Tuesday night into Wednesday.  Hoping it will be more rain than snow as some trees have already budded and a heavy snow would not be good‼️ I do hope your puppy doggie continues to be better and can have that Milkbone soon‼️

PHYLLIS, I am sorry I missed your meal yesterday.....it sure sounded good.  Enjoy those pickles👍

CALLIE, I hope your thermostat is the only thing hemorrhaging and not your HVAC system.  Keep safe from those darn tornados PLEASE🙏

I wish you all a good day.

Jenny

Hello Everyfriend!  I found out today that we're not leaving until Sunday Morning at 6 a.m. so I just got 24 more hours to get ready.

Right now, I'm tired right down to my shoe laces and I don't have any shoes on!  So I guess I better hit the haystack.  JENNY, it was nice to see you and I hope you end up making the right decision for your body!  It's so hard to know what's right!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless

Good morning..

Back to chilly weather with the threat of rain....again.

I think Kyle ran out of fence boards so it will be back to the lumber yard. :)
Poor Callie sure misses her folks, she met me at the door and really loved the attention.of course I think it was stomach love too!! She doesn't have the company of Rex this time so a first time being alone for her.

I am going to chase dust bunnies , fold laundry and get back to sewing.
Jane ,happy to read you will be here till Sunday :smitten:

Jenny, these kinds of decisions need a LOT of research and talking with the Dr.

Rick , it will be a while for us to use the lawnmower. Need some heat to make the grass grow.....then we can complain on cutting it every week. :)

Patricia, how are you? Still have snow?

Better get  a wiggle on and get ready to meet the day..

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

QuoteI am going to chase dust bunnies , fold laundry and get back to sewing.

Amy, these days the dust bunnies are chasing me!  And, as soon as the dryer is finished with it's job David and I will fold sheets and towels and put them away.  Household chores are always with us, aren't they?  I'm grateful that I can still do them....with my son's help.  ;)

Safe trip when you go, Jane.  Enjoy being with the family for the summer and stay cool.
I think this summer in the South is going to be a HOT one.

So nice to see you here, Jenny.  I share your problem with your spine.  Cervical arthritis in upper spine for me.  Thank goodness for some relief with Aspercream......sometimes.  My DIL had fusion many years ago and it worked pretty well.  She still has to take an occasional Cortisone injection but not lately.

Take care, All.

Good morning, all. Nothing ahead today as the water has been shut off, so the planned laundry will have to wait.

Amy, we've had wind and power outages but no new snow. The good news is that we're coming out of the teens, and starting tomorrow, we're expected to heat up into the higher forties.  This year has been more ice than snow, so rapid melt will cause problems. The bad part is that the increased upriver melt and jamming ice movement will cause issues with the northern towns, and refugees will need a place to wait out any flooding.

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Good Night!  I've missed being her with all of you but we've been so busy and when Cindy leaves to visit with her old school friends, I get busy getting my stuff ready for travel and my house ready to be cleaned!  While I'm gone, Frankie is going to clean my whole house and when I told her I'd pay her well for the job she said, "You do enough for me!  You;re not paying me for doing this!  But I am going to pay her!

Tomorrow, Cindy and I are going to hit the local Farmers Market!  I'm going to be tempted to buy stuff I don't have time to deal with so I'll just have to tell myself I'll get it when I go with Ali to the Farmers Market where she sells her flowers!

I did run by here and read whatever was in and it's always nice to "see" all of you!  PHYLLIS, the dust bunnies are chasing me, too!  That's part of what Frankie is going to chase while I'm away!

We've been eating stuff that needs to leave the fridge and filling in the gaps with canned soup all week!  It's working out pretty well!

Now I'm off to the haystack.  Cooper will be here a bit before 7 tomorrow so I'll have to be up early!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  God bless!

Good day EVERYFRIEND‼️

The storm watch was not nearly as bad as anticipated but we got a lot of great rain with a few snowflakes that disappeared by morning. Another storm is coming in Thursday night that is not expected to last too long nor be nearly as bad as they thought this one was going to be‼️

AMY, my kitty is very lonely when we are away but he is such a scaredy cat he will not come out for love and attention from his care giver😩 HIS LOSS‼️ Many times she comes in with some loud story on her phone that she listens to and he will never come out with that going on😡.  I KNOW HE WOULD COME OUT FOR YOU🥰

Thank you for the kind words regarding my latest health issue.  It is a huge decision to make and I wish I could find someone to talk to that has had this done😩. Thank you, PHYLLIS for the comment about your DIL having this fusion done.  I am sorry you too suffer with the pain in your neck😩

JANE, I am always thankful for a bit more time before I have to travel🤪 You might just have a little time to rest up before you go‼️ Safe travel and have a wonderful time🥰. Oh goodness...you will never be able to resist buying something at the market‼️‼️
Have a good day‼️

JENNY, I went to the Farmers Market and I didn't buy anything!  I just told myself, "I'll get it at the market where Ali sells her flowers!  And I will for sure!  Cindy bought a big bag of BIG carrots fresh out of the ground and a great big cinnamon bun!

I guess I better get back to work!  Time sure flies!

Enjoy the rest of your day!  I don't know if I'll be back

Good morning..

Another fun day yesterday, going early to the city beats the crowded stores. Kyle found planer blades, like hens teeth to find here! On to meet up and exchange goodies with Bri and have lunch at Dairy Queen...I topped my meal off with a Dixie Bell sundea..perfect!!

Today is back to the lumber store for more fence boards  then home. I want ot make up a dessert....remember orange fluff used to have it years ago and want to try it again.

Jane, those carrots will be so sweet!!

Jenny, Callie meets me at the door and looks for petting.Today her folks will be home and she wil be sohappy. Bet they won't be able to move without her being by their side.

Patricia, I am so anxious to play in the dirt but this cold weather isn't helping warm the soil up. May start a few things inside and see how that goes.

Shirley, hope everything is working out for you.

Better get at it .

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning to Everyfriend!

AMY, thank for the good wishes!  It's going to be a good one because I'm going to see ALL 4 of my kids today!  And maybe one grandkid...possibly 2!

I'm making hard boiled eggs to take with us.  We decided they'd travel better than regular eggs.  And we're also making a batch of Jim's egg thinys to take with us.  They'll travel better than regular eggs!

I'm pretty much packed.  I still want to stow some stuff to get it out of Frankie's way when she cleans and I still have to pack up the computer and all it's trappings!

I wish you all a good day...at least as good as mine will be!

Good morning everyone. well it is nice to be missed. dont hit me again I will try to do better. well as for the tornadioes, Have not been close to any Latley but have in past years. in kansa years ago i was working for the kettiles near Abbeyvile KS. and right across the road one took a little barn strighet up in the air togather and when it got about six or so hundred feet in the air took it apart and went right over my head. I was plowing,I pulled the tracter over on th the plowed ground and got off and under the tractor, the sand stung verry bad that came through the openings in the wheels.it wa going, airborn. took a large mape tree out of the neighbors yard, took it on with it. the bos wife's called her brother and told them it was comeing there way, but they told her the sun was shinning there and just a gential brease. and that was just about three miles apart. Mother nature dose odd things. another time one hit the north edge of holden, there that time, and took the colerd foke school building away, and that was the onley damage it done. see you Later.

Lloyd

Good morning.

Starting out a lovey day here, sun shining and clear blue skies. Bread making day and chasing dust kangaroos. Need to plant my celery that I cut the bottom off and it is now rooted in water.May get in some sewing also.

Neighbours are home, I was just going to head over last evening to draw the drapes and saw they had just pulled in. Phone over to her and asked if she didn't mind pulling the drapes for me. :2funny: I know Callie is one happy kittie as she missed them!

Better  get on with my day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Yayyy Lloyd, you found your way here!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND SAFE TRIP, JANE! :smitten:  :hb3:

Won't go into detail, but the tummy decided to reject ALL pills last night... so stayed awake to try the single antibiotic pill and it let me know as soon as it went down it was going to come right back up as well.

Bubble, I have a new gmail account for here so will be sending it to you when I find the note my daughter made of all that info. She heads back to St.Louis today so running one more errand to stock me up before leaving.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  And thank you one and all for the nice birthday wishes!  Nice pictures and nice wishes with them!!!

I might be packing up the computer tonight!  We're going to packing up the car for travel tomorrow.  If I do, you won't hear from me until sometime Tuesday.  We'll be getting to Cindy's house in OK about mid-afternoon and greeting kids and getting unpacked and RESTING from our travels will take the rest of the day!

I don't have a lot to do to get ready.  I think I might make it.  And I understand that Cathy is entertaining the rest of the family for dinner tomorrow at her house.  So not much time left on Sat. for packing!

I wish you all a bunch of happy days...all better than the one before but not as good as the one coming up!  I'll miss you all!

Safe travels, Jane.  I'll be looking forward to your reports from Tulsa.  :)

Shirley,  I'm getting very concerned about you!!!!  :smitten:

Nothing new to report from me. Still gloomy, chilly, wet weather.  I'm about to run out of Projects and getting a bit bored with Domestic Duties.  :nopity:

Good morning, It's 8:17 am and forty outside. Our high will be in the early fifties, and the ice and leftover snow is black and shrinking. I'd believe it was early March outside if I didn't know better. It doesn't look appealing.

I'm debating moving furniture around the living room and reconfiguring my office furniture. The problems are that while the other rooms are squared, the living room is rectangular, with a patio door on one end and the kitchen island on the other, with two wide hallways in an L shape.

Everyone at the meet and greets is bored/restless and ready for spring planting. Except mother nature isn't cooperating and people used to working hard, don't care for sitting on their hands. Dora and Alan aren't used to being idle and only having a small, surrounded outdoor space, with both trailing oxygen tubing. Their illness wasn't covid, but it took away their health and independence.

Good morning..

Liguid sunshine for the not 5 but 7 days ahead!! Flood warnings in certain areas, we are fine here.

Work around home today and getting bread done. I was interested in a new project and spent my time doing it instead of the bread so better get that done today.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning!  As soon as I'm finished here, I'm packing up the computer.  So this will be my last post.

AMY, I am going to go look at the breakfast muffin before I shut down.

I won't be back on probably until Tuesday.  We'll be travelling Sunday and Monday and I'm sure I won't feel like opening up when we get there.

I wish you all a good Saturday, a good Sunday and a good Monday!  All of them should be better than the one before!  Enjoy!

Good morning; 35 now and our low for last night. Put the Interior down for that rain, but it will melt more of that shrinking snow. I understand Central and Northern California have snow and rainy, cooler weather. According to that thirty-day weather map, California's mixed rain and snow will continue eastward through the Midwest.

Amy, it's been chill and wet outside, so I'm looking for more things to do inside. And my friends seem to be in the same mood, with no one except Claire doing outside work. There's talk about doing something the first week of May, but no one seems enthused.
