Three couples are trying to get married.

Three couples are trying to get married at the same church. There is a young couple, a middle-aged couple, and an elderly couple. The three couples meet with the priest and discuss when they can get married.

"If you wish to get married in my church, you must all go one month without having sex," says the priest.

One month later the three couples return to the church and talk to the priest. He then asks the elderly couple, "Have you completed the month without  sex?"

"Yes we have, it was easy," replies the elderly couple.

"How about you?" He asks the middle-aged couple.

"It was hard, but we didn't have sex for the whole month," they respond.

"And how about you two?" He asks the young couple.

"No we couldn't do it," responds the boyfriend.

"Tell me why," says the priest.

"Well my girlfriend had a can of corn in her hand and she accidentally dropped it. She bent over to pick it up and that's when it happened."
The priest then tells them, "You're not welcome in my church."

"We're not welcome in the supermarket either," says the boyfriend.

Good morning everyone. Warmed up to 40° yesterday and that is what it is now at 4:15am.  Not normal for mid May. I have a cough all of a sudden that kept me awake for 2 nights. Been trying to sleep sitting up, another night like that and I will be calling my doctor to check it out, if I can get a ride. If I get 2 hours sleep then I am lucky. Oh well, enough of my problems, and no it is not a cold.

BUBBLE  love the graphic of the Iris. I noticed yesterday looking out the window that a purple iris is in bloom here. Beautiful. Good jokes, thanks.  Thank you for the links to photos.

Lloyd wonderful family photo.

SHIRLEY  I am so tired of rain almost every day. If no rain it is cloudy and damp. We have had maybe  days so far that felt like spring.

Think I will go and try to get a few more Z's before CNA gets here.

Have a good day.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I've been haunting the heating pad.  My back has decided not to straighten up without pain and I decided it was time for a couple of Ibuprophen and some heat.

Cold here this morning but no rain.

Love the opening, BUBBLE!

I'll be back later to see what everyone is up to.  Enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone
Oh my no rain! Maybe we can get the chimney cleaned today?? This has been an on going job but the rain keeps interfering   .The neighbour does it for us and it is not a long job just one that needs to be done each year a couple of times. Might get the cupboards cleaned out.......notice I say might as you never know how the day will go at times.

Jane ,do you have some voltaren , try some of that also on your back.

Gloria, I hope you can get a ride to the Dr to see what is causing that cough.

Bubble, thank you for the new start page and the giggles.

Time to get a wiggle in my hinney and get going.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Shirley

Love the graphics & funnies, Bubble.... thank you for taking care of us. I will giggle every time I see a can of corn in the store from now on!

Have y'all noticed that WE are not in control anymore?  I plan a few things for the day (or week) and something else comes up to wipe out my plans. I float along with what ever can't be denied. Only thing I control is what to eat for breakfast, seriously, and I'd better get busy with that before something else takes over!  Can't crawl back in bed this morning, the yard guy really does come today so must go unlock gates. One of my 3 kids brought me a baby rabbit for my breakfast so had to bag it for the trash. Guess they think I have a funny way of eating.  :crazy2:  Oh, ICK!

Gloria, maybe that cough is caused by your BP meds? (I read about that... ::)  ) Take care, with all that damp cold it could be pneumonia, let the nurse listen to your lungs.... I tried that a couple years ago & discovered they don't listen anymore... "got to have an X-ray".

Jane, sorry the back is objecting to that yard work... Bet you will forget about it when those flowers are in full bloom.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Callie!  Think we have a couple days without rain & then a wild week end of storms. I will open the slide & put out the awning on the RV today in hopes of drying it out before the next round but will wait until the mower is done, the slide goes out over the grass. My eyes are itching this morning, GREEN is the color of the day. All of a sudden the trees are fully leafed out, grass & weeds going down the hill ankle high. AND, when I went down to the river last night the water has gone way down and a pair of geese had 15 babies in my little cove. I threw them the bread & those babies just zoomed around in the water munching it down.

Lloyd, I have a "battery boosted" bike coming tomorrow that I plan to take with me in the RV, too much trouble to pull a car & I couldn't find a way to haul my little motorcycle.  This one folds & can get up to 45 miles on a charge. I ordered the one with short tires for my short legs. At least I can cruise the campgrounds & hiking trails on it.  Since it won't go over 20 mph I can use it on sidewalks like a normal bike.

Better go fix my breakfast so I can get out to unlock gates. Have a cardinal singing it's heart out this morning, & a dove cooing.  The door is open & sounds of spring in the air. Can also hear the traffic from the bypass around the city.  :(

Good morning, Amy. I wondered how often you had your chimney cleaned. Lucky you have a neighbor to do the job. I've only heard of one chimney sweep around here so mine is in dire need, I think. Had a smile at your expression of "hinney"... my brother picked that up when he stayed with our uncle on their farm one summer. The whole area is German or French & I was told that is a German word (never looked it up since having a conputer to ask).

Yesterday and, so far today, we have had cool temps. and lots of sunshine.  Beautiful!  No rain so maybe all of you who are North of me will see beautiful weather, too.  Fingers crossed for you.  The plus side to all the rain we have had is that the woods and shrubs and flowers are just beautiful this year.  The woods are so thick that I cannot see down to the creek at all and if the deer are going through the backyard they would be hidden from my sight.  It is like living in a green cathedral with all the trees arching over the house.

Larry, I know you are dealing with so much right now and I think of you and pray for you and Pat while you are going through all of the changes you are having to adjust to.  My husband was to begin palliative care and then hospice but he died the day after the decision was made to begin the program. I've never heard of anything but good concerning hospice care.  They do everything they can to help and care for those who are in the program.

I'm sorry for those of you who are having trouble sleeping and hope that a good night's rest will come soon.

No laundry today!  I've caught up with the "regular stuff" and the winter things that need to go into storage can wait!  David helped me to change my sheets yesterday because it seems that I can no longer wrestle with that heavy mattress to get that dratted fitted sheet on straight and smooth.  So frustrating, and acceptance of the way things are now is not easy for me.   :tickedoff:  I'm embarrassed to complain about something that is so trivial compared to things other people have to wrestle with.

Amy, I laughed at your using the word "hinney".  My dad used to say that.  I think he picked it up when he spent time in Germany with the army of occupation after WW 1 armistice.

Hush up, Phyllis.  :sealedlips:  Talk to you all later.

Amy I have a tip for you that will keep your chimney clean easy. go to your feed store and buy a big bag of stock rock salt. when you have a hot fire in your stove/fireplace throw several hands full in the fire. do this regular and it will keep your flue clean. no more chimney sweep or chance of someone falling and getting hurt. this is what we have done for years and it is very clean just the black coat colear. no chimney  fires either have a great day.

Hi Everyone.  It is with the deepest sadness and through tears that I write this today.  I had a text from Ruth Ann Bice saying our beloved Pat Scott Halbach had suffered a most severe stroke yesterday morning and wasn't going to survive the day.  A few minutes after read the text I had a call from Paul Halbach who told me that Pat had not survived.  We have lost a dear friend to us all.  I really know nothing else other than Paul was with her when she had the stroke and immediately called for help.  This dear, lovely lady has suffered so much in the last three years but now is free from that pain and is with her Heavenly Father.

The only other thing I will write about today is Hospice.  I did quite a bit of reading last evening about Hospice and am anxious to talk to them.  I certainly will want the Home service.  They were wonderful to us at the time Stacey passed away and were tremendous help.  I am not being pessimistic but I had a blunt conversation with my cardiologist Monday and she confirmed what I knew that it will be a downward situation with me and that I am not going to be getting any better.  I am just thankful that I have most things in order to try to make it easier for Pat and Scott must take over what I do now and when my time is up.  Doing everything else I can to document and get our affairs in order will be my main focus for the immediate future.  I appreciate all of your comments and hope to be able to post here for sometime to come and since my life has been and will be an open book, I will share with you as much of my future journey as I am able.  Thanks for much for your comments about this situation and your own family experiences.

Good morning.  A pretty sunny morning, with no signs of rain.  Thank goodness!

I am so sorry to read about Pat Halbach.  She certainly was such a good friend to all of us for a very long time.  What sad news this morning.

For any of you that remember Bobbie Gould, I talked with her yesterday, as it was her birthday.  I had asked her if she keeps in touch with any of the former members that used to come here and she told me that she does keep in touch with Ruth Ann Bice. So, funny that Ruth Ann's name was mentioned here this morning.  Bobbie was the one who traveled across the country with her dog and wrote so many neat stories of her adventures.  I do try to keep in touch with her, but hadn't talked to her for a while.  She moved to Ohio to be near her daughter. She is in an assisted living home.  She has been on oxygen for a long time now.  She said she really wasn't able to do too much, but she does try to keep as busy as she can.  We didn't talk too long, so hopefully, I will be able to get back to her sometime.

Larry, I have heard nothing but good things about hospice care.  And, I really admire you for your strength and attitude.

I have been up for a good while, but not moving very fast.  I had to turn the heat up a little bit again this morning.  Hate to have to still be having the furnace on in the middle of May.  Hopefully, it will warm up by the week end and that will bring an end to running the furnace for a long time.

I did play cards last night and for a change, my partner and I did win.  That doesn't happen very often.  We hadn't played for a couple of weeks, so maybe I can call it a "new beginner's luck".  LOL

Gloria, I do hope that you will be able to get some relief from your cough.

And, Jane, hope the heating pad will help your back.  My back has been bothering me, but it does seem better.  I can't take anything except Tylenol, because I take Eliquis.  And, Tylenol doesn't really do that much for me. But, it is better, thank heavens.

Shirley, I had to laugh about you pedaling your little bike through the woods.  But, that sounds just like something you would do.  Have fun !!  and, enjoy your new "ride".

Greetings to all the other friends.  Have a wonderful day.

Joy

I almost forgot to thank Bubble for our new page and also for the cute little jokes and the pretty picture of the Iris. My mom used to grow all different colors of iris's.  Beautiful huge white ones and lots of the purple ones, also. It was always a favorite of mine, and you don't really see that many of them anymore.  At least, in my neck of the woods.
Thank you, Bubble.

Another cool morning, Last Night went down to 39. Did someone say Spring?

What I like about Hospice is I can stay in my own home and my family can be with me. Of course in NY you go to one doctor.

Good Morning,

I am so sorry to learn about Pat Halbach.  We met several times at Bashes and, once, when I was in her hometown on a tour.  At her request, I sent her an Oklahoma Eskimo Joe's tee shirt.  She will be missed.

Joy,  I remember Bobby Gould.  I vaguely remember meeting her somewhere locally on her travels.
Also remember Ruth Ann Bice.  Isn't she from Canada?  I think Helona and I played Bridge with her and her husband at a Bash.

I've had to have the furnace on for the past several days.  VERY unusual for May in Oklahoma!!!  However, it looks as if we are heading into summer "as usual" - meaning severe storms and more tornadoes for the rest of the month.

The last Soda Shoppe has disappeared so I don't remember if I commented that Grandson/friend stopped by to see if they could fish in the pond at the end of the street and I was looking to see what I could feed them.
I sent a dozen cookies with them to the pond; none were returned.  When they came back, they ate all of the 8 slider sandwiches I had in the fridge!  Glad I was able to "accommodate" them.  :smitten:

I'm about to "go shopping" on-line in my favorite catalogs.  Tog Shop is merging with Appleseed's and I'm going to take advantage of the "close-out" sale.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.  (Shirley- have a "Wonderous Wednesday  ;) )

Good morning EVERYFRIEND🥰🥰

I have a huge lump in my throat and tears after reading your news about Pat passing away, LARRY.  BLESS HER HEART, she has struggled for so long, and now she is at peace and meeting up again with her beloved Jack and Geordie💞💞  We are lucky in that we have seen Pat on many occasions.....she has been to our home and we have been to hers.

JOY, how nice to hear news about Bobbie. Thank you for sharing her news.  Congrats for being a winner last night!

JANE, I am sorry to read about your back ache.....now you MUST listen to the pain and TRY to take it easy.  Much too much bending over will do it every time💐

GLORIA, I am sorry to read about your cough.  I hope it will get better today or you must go see about it....wish I could come there and drive you❣️

GLORIA de, many years ago my dear grandma gave me bulbs from her most beautiful collection of iris.  I will never forget them....they were stunning to look at....so big in size and perfect.  Sadly, when we moved to AZ I did not think to dig up the bulbs and take them with me....so now they are only a memory.  No matter how hard I have tried, I have never been able to buy bulbs that are even near to what hers were. Right now I am dealing with critters eating plants and destroying my decorative out door pillows.  It is a Squirrel that is my issue right now.  He jumps in the middle of my big planter of flowers and smashes them down and breaks them off,  then he goes to another one and digs until he up roots many of the flowers🤬

CALLIE, how nice you had a visit from your grandson and his friend.....I know you took care of them....you are always prepared with food to fill their tummies!

SHIRLEY, I saw the picture of your electric bike last night on my iPad, where I had been reading about it and wondered if you got it ordered?  I see you did get it,... Good for you.

AMY, have you ever heard of Lloyd's suggestion of using rock salt to keep your chimney clean out?  If it would work it sure would help you out.  My family used the word "hinney" all the time, and I still do.  I see you do too, PHYLLIS .

I must get my HINNEY busy now, so enjoy the rest of your day!

Had my shower & heading out on a major shopping spree, hope to have found a replacement for my Shark Navigator that Miss Callie liked so much she claimed it for her own & shorted out the whole thing. Can't believe how much it is missed. Also need to buy a bucket of chlorine tabs because the pool cover comes off this week end.  Have my list & checkbook in hand.

Glad I am going out, hearing about Pat Scott Halbecn added to the already sorrowful week. She has been our benefactor ever since Senior Net threw us under the bus, wonder if Paul will be able to hold us together or what will happen to this site.

Ruth Ann Bice is the sweet lady that came to sit with us when Cas' brother had the cancer surgery in Nashville/Vanderbilt. I think she remained until the doctor came out about midnight to tell what all they had to do. He had gone in at 6:00 am.

Thank you, Joy, for the news about Bobbie. I did try to call her but something happened that the call didn't go through, do not remember now why. I never head west to Colorado but that I think of her when I go through Greensburg, KS.... she had gone through at about the same time that a tornado completely demolished the whole town. I had met she & January (her dog) at the Walmart parking lot when she passed through Wichita heading west.

Lloyd, thank you for the offer of a rig to haul my Yamaha, but I gave up the idea after the "online" store that sells all types of carriers but insisted that I should not use one on this RV because "they wag too much" and are dangerous. My son looked at a motorhome in the campground last year, same size as mine & had a big motorcycle carrier on the back. It was welded to the frame & extremely heavy ... and would not have been easy to remove. I don't know how long I will be able to use these toys but think the little bike will fit my desire to run around a campground & even the trails. I will take a camera on my adventures!

Larry, like you, I am not afraid of death and appreciate how you are dealing with your life. You and Gloria de are such awesome examples for all of us, besides being good friends. I really mean that. I hope both of you can enjoy the time ahead, how ever long it may be, and that the rest of us are just as lucky to share the time with you. Remember, this is NOT a race and no telling which of us will reach that destination first. God Bless.

Jenny, my bike arrives tomorrow!  Yea!! :excited:

good evening Shirley, I feel the same about all of you, you are my dear friends.  When it it raining or snowing I always have my friends here to set and talk,  Gloria is just across the LI Sound, I feel like she is my neighbor. If I was going to the Cape, I can wave at her ;)
My mother use to say "You are going to be in that spot if you want to or not, when your time comes" and she was she was always saying watch out for those double tracks going into Charleston, she was 52 when she was struck by that train, which did not use its horn. The lawyer said my mother must have been well liked, as 20 witnesses came forward  I still could not sue

My mother always said Hinny.

Gloria de, your mother was awful young when she died. My grandfather had just turned 65 when he died after being hit by a train. He was near his home town on his personal "rail car". He was a telegrapher but was given one of those type cars that ran on the rails & was pumped up & down to make it go. My father also worked for the railroad & had his own car, but he was in the signal department & was always checking them all over that part of the state. Anyway, my grandfather was heading home when his rail car hit a big rock that fell from an overhanging bluff. After he crashed (my brother explained to me later) he was dazed & was hit by a train. He lived a couple days, I remember his funeral vividly and was the week of my 2nd birthday. Are you/were you an only child?  I don't know why I thought you grew up in England. I've always enjoyed your activities.

Time for me to get ready for bed. I never got a nap today & won't tomorrow. I have to be here to sign for that bike and the Fed-x trucks don't have any special time of day to deliver. For sure I want it at the garage door, would not be able to move it by myself!!! My son-in-law found a video showing how a 5 year old can put these bikes together.... I NEED a 5 year old 'cause I have a feeling I'm in trouble just getting it out of the box!  Sweet dreams to all and God Bless.  Shirley

Good morning everyone...
WOW, we have sun! So nice to see first thing in the morning.
We had another load of wood delivered yesterday so we have our work cut out for us.

Lloyd, thank you, we will try the rock salt .I have read that potato peelings will also help to keep a chimney clean.

Jenny, no this is the first time I have heard about the salt. Our chimney was pretty clean as we keep a good hot fire burning.

Jane, hope your back is better today.

Time is slipping away on me.

Enjoy your day everyone.
