Good morning everyone, finally woke early this morning, better that waking at 9 and rushing before Yvette gets here.

LLOYD  good luck with your new printer, I need ink for mine and one day I will get it. Have not had much to print lately.

PATRICIA  we have earthquakes here at times but never feel them they are so slight and find out when we hear the news.

JANE  I would love to get into a market to see what is new. Yvette does a good job of getting every thing on my list.

JENNY  SORRY you cancelled your trip to Ca. Smart not traveling now.

AMY  we have rain in the forecast for tomorrow. I rather look at  snow falling, tired of all the rain.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Morning!  I had a long post ready to go, the lights flashed, the computer shut down and I lost my post.  I'll be back later to try to reconstruct.  I have to feed Mickie, get dressed and go for a walk right now. Hope your day starts better than mine did!

Old Age, I decided, is a gift. I am now, probably for the first time in my
life, the person I have always wanted to be. Oh, not my body! I sometime
despair over my body, the wrinkles, the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt.
And often I am taken aback by that old person that lives in my mirror (who
look s like my mother!) , but I don't agonize over those things for long. I
would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family
for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become more kind
to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't
chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or
for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avant
garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.

I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before
they understood the great freedom that comes with aging. Whose business is
it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until
noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60&70's, and if
I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ... I will. I will walk
the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will
dive into t he waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying
glances from the jet set .

They, too, will get old.

I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as
well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break
when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's
beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us
strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and
sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray,
and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my
face.  So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair
could turn silver.

As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what
other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned
the right to be wrong.

So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I
like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I
am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or
worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day.
(If I feel like it)

MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART! MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE A RAINBOW OF SMILES ON YOUR FACE AND IN YOUR HEART FOREVER AND EVER!

Shirley

Well, Janie, mine had it's own hic-cups.... the commode decided not to flush DOWN but water came to top of rim before it quit... must take care of that issue after a trip to the doctor & on to pick up the title to my new car from the dealer. Not sure why it was sent to them instead of to my house, but don't want to have them put back in the mail & risk another delay in getting all that taken care of.

We have a pretty frost on everything this morning. Tom went out & didn't take long he was back on the step begging to come in. No wind, a real treat, we've had lots of wind lately.

Good luck with the new printer, Lloyd. My son worked on my old one not long ago, thought it was fixed but it kept "printing" blank pages. I started messing with it & all of a sudden it works again. Don't use it much, just to print out grocery lists & the digital coupons for the week.

Gloria, you do seem to be more active lately, I think Yvette is good medicine for you. I'm sure she enjoys having you to visit with as well.

Phyllis, was dealing with trying to put together my red wagon & thinking about what you said that "maybe you should donate yours".... Better think that over, never know when you might be glad to have a means to haul, even around the house!  I'm disgusted that the directions for putting this together are so bad. I need it NOW.

Better go shower & wash my hair... need to trim off a few sprigs first, my hair grows faster this time of year & just keep whacking at it until the season is over. I see one of the eagles floating over the river... they move so fast I can't get a camera in hand. One of these days I'll wrap up & be out earlier and get a good shot... they are so beautiful. Son was on the phone last night when a news clip showed one catching a Canada goose... NOT something I want to see, and I know the cats hunker down when they see any of the big birds hunting.

Good one, Lloyd.

I'm so slow this morning and very late.  I just got dressed and it's almost lunch time.

I like your "poem", Lloyd. Thanks for sharing it.

David just helped me get the filters out of the Dyson vacuum cleaner so I could wash them.  What a job!!  I didn't have my smart thinking cap on the day I bought that thing.  But, it's better than a broom.   ;)

Good afternoon.  Just want to say Hello.  I know I have not been here for a few days.Just don't seem to have anything new to talk about,

Very dreary day today so that really makes ne sleepy,  I was up at 6 for the necessary room and went back to sleep and didn't wake up until almost 10 o'clock,  The day is just flying by.

Belated Birthday wishes to you,  Jenny.  Hope you had a nice day.

I have to get myself in gear and decide which gift cards I will get for gifts this year.  I guess Christmas will be the same as Thanksgiving was.  Everybody will just stay hone and it will be just another day.  I am having a real difficult time dealing with all of this.  Get very depressed at times.  But, I have to work myself out of those "down times".

Just want to wish you all a good day and stay well !!

Good morning from the Interior! I had a big day out with friends yesterday, and so today will be a day of rest.

Amy, as far as I know, the two are still missing. Southeast gets lots of earthquakes because while beautiful, with the thin strips of land between mountains and sea, there are volcanos, and that land is narrow, sits on a gravel bed, below sea level, and the San Andreas fault runs directly through it. They have daily rumbling and have had some earthquakes doozies.

The Interior is on the other side of two mountain ranges in a vast arboreal forest, and we have forest fires and floods rather than earthquakes. We are 642 miles from Haines. We do have aftershocks occasionally, but there is a different fault line in the Interior.

Gloria, mostly we have only slight rumbles, but we've had a good one once or twice. We're on a different fault line than the Southeast. I wish I had a Yvette! I've put off finding my own, but I need to get it done.

Good morning Jane! Good morning Lloyd; I, too, loved and saved your piece!

Some folks around here have a large wagon from Home Depot with a longer body with a steel bottom and orange molded plastic side pieces. It's sold for firewood or yardwork, but it can be used for anything in this building or outside.

Phyllis, I long ago sold my old vacuum and purchased a bagless wand type. I can no longer access vacuum bags or change printer ink.

Morning Joy, I completely understand as days both drag and fly by.  Yesterday, when friends I hadn't physically seen for a long time called to say they were outside and did I want to grocery shop, I flew out that door even knowing I didn't need anything!

This year, I stopped sending cash cards to my nieces and nephews all in their thirties and forties. Only one is married out of four and no grandkids or expected. They send me club cards each year for coffee, fruit, or cheeses and I don't need that either. I do send JL cards.

JaneS

Hello Everyfriend!  I never did get back to reconstruct my morning loss on this panel.  And, of course, now I don't remember what I said!

Today was a busy one.  I actually have one box taped up and ready to mail.  Three more are about 3/4 done but I have to wait until my personal shopper gets back from the store tomorrow.

Now, I'm all set up to put out my last Christmas decoration.  The table is covered and the stable is there but I can't locate the box with the Nativity set in it!  Why does all this confusion have to happen.  I saw it at least 16 times while I was making candy nd now it's hiding from me! Wherever it is, it has N*A*T*I*V*I*T*Y in big letters on the outside of the box and it's sitting in plain site, I thought in my bedroom closet.  WRONG!!!  I have to get better organized!  When I see something in a closet that I'm going to need soon, I'll just have to take it out and set it in the middle of the room so I'll either see it when I need it or fall over it a couple times!

I'm going to wish you goodnight and start a search! Then, if it doesn't show up tonight, I'm going to bed and try to put it out of my mind until tomorrow.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy, germ-free tomorrow. And may God bless us, every one!  And may He point me in the direction of that box!  Thank you, God!

Good morning everyone..

The trip to the garage proved that I did hear something amiss. I need a front wheel bearing put in and have an appointment for Mon.

Today we will run into town and pick up some things for our friends and home to  ?? whatever gets done.

Jane, you are still playing hid and go seek!! :2funny: Lots of us play that game, Kyle says to stop looking and it will turn up. That is fine if you don't need or want it right away.

Patricia, we have two wagons, both have had their sides taken off , one holds the generator and the other one is used for yard work.

Gloria, no new snow here :)

Joy, good to hear from you. One thing about gift cards is that they fit!!

Enjoy your day everyone, stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfrind!  My personal shopper is at WM and it's my job to sit by the phone and wait for questions!

I'm always happy to see people who have been missing for a day or two or in Radioman's case, a lot longer!

I have a plan for today and let's hope it doesn't involve "looking" for something that's "right there"

I'm going to have to take Mickie for a walk pretty soon.  It's a good thing that both my phone and my glasses fit in my pocket and she can always find something to do while I answer.

I never thought about a wagon.  I have thought about a wheelbarrow and a wagon would probably be easier.  But so far a wheelbarrow is cheaper.  My good neighbor across the street lets me borrow his.

Guess I better scoot and take Mickie.  She's been more than patient!

We went for a walk and then Cathy came with my stuff from WM and almost forgot to come back.  I seem to be "running around like a chicken with its head cut off" as my grandmother used to say!  I'm forgetting where I was and what I was doing.  I guess I better not plan to travel or I might end up anywhere in the world!

I hope you are all having a good day....better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

Patricia, my vacuum is all put back together with clean filters.  I haven't bought bags for a long time either but all of those bagless things have filters that have to be cleaned and the Dyson has two.  One is easy to remove and one isn't.  Replacing ink cartridges in my printer is easy since it is right up front.  I rarely print anything anymore that needs to print in color so I have my printer set to print in Black and White only and buy only black ink cartridges.

Lots of blue sky here today but a little breezy and coolish.  I got some nice looking strawberries from Papa Spud's the other day so think I'll make some shortcakes and cut up the strawberries for Strawberry Shortcake tomorrow.  I have some Cool Whip on hand, too.  The strawberries are grown at a hydroponic farm just a few miles from me and I hope they will taste as nice as they look.

Take care, All.

Bread is done and laundry , just about done.  A little village to the south of us has lost their only grocery store to fire. An early morning fire destroyed everything....the only saving grace is no one was hurt.
The odd snow flake is falling and I do hope it gets tired and heads back into the clouds. I really don't wish to play in the snow.

Good morning from the Interior and me!

Amy, I understand that the mountain was always unstable, and recent geological instruments had shown it moving due to very recent heavy rains in the Southeast and, particularly, Haines. However, no one could have predicted the landside from the mountain's top to and into the loch. A person is still missing from each of the two pulverized houses, and four others were found alive in the area.

Jane, I'm glad you found your nativity set. I recently searched high and low for an old monitor only to find it in a previously searched place! How can you overlook a 20" monitor? It was hidden in my hallway walk-in behind and underneath a series of cloth grocery bags.

Unfortunately, neither it nor my other desktop monitor works. Is it only the cords? The only way is to purchase two sets of new monitor cords, and I'm not ready for that. What if it is one or both monitors and not the cords?

Shirley, I spend most days searching due to my procrastination. I even purchased a still unread book on how to remedy that!  :-[    I have piles of paperwork in a set of storage boxes that I need to file and a lengthy list on my Keep app of household needs, improvements, and wishes that I need to work on. At the very least, I need to purchase a 33-gallon tote to put all my donated items in to hold until I can actually donate them!

I did find something odd about perception after I finished some laundry yesterday. I have two sheet sets. One is a gray patterned sheet set with matching duvet, 2 pillows, pillowcase, and sham. One set, white cotton with a white duvet. Both sets are the same size, but the bed's white set looks twice as fluffy and large?

I thought about purchasing an outdoor utility cart as others have here, Amy. Still, I went with a large wheeled Amazon cart in black instead that is easier for me to maneuver back and forth to the laundry or elsewhere inside the apartment.  https://tinyurl.com/yym7kq84

Phyllis, my fingers don't want to work anymore, and my printer has one of those tiny ink spaces. I need to break down and sell it when you're allowed to do that again! Luckily, the vacuum's cup is easier to access and move about. I need both a Yvette and a David. Another item on my Keep app.

Amy, that is very sad about the village's only grocery store and will be a hardship to both the grocery owners and the village. As if times weren't hard enough already!

Hello Everyfriend!  I'm just stopping by to say "Good Night".  I've had a busy day and another one coming up tomorrow.  It's almost 11 p.m.  in Central PA and I'm ready for the haystack!  I sure hope it's loaded with zzzzzs because I feel the need of them.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a worry-free day tomorrow.  I WILL pack the boxes to send tomorrow even if nothing else get done.  My personal shopper finished my shopping for Emma and I'm ready to concentrate on the packing.

Now I'm off to the haystack!  Good Night my dear friends!

Good morning everyone..

Only 18 ° out there with wind blowing. A day of rest here....I know we are not going far until the wheel bearing gets replaced......tis an awful sound coming from it.

May throw on a pot of soup to cook and just let the  day go by.

Patricia, that cart makes more sense to use than the other carts.

Lloyd,my friend brought me a bag of fresh ground flour and it made the most delicious bread!! Just pure flour no chemicals in it.

Gloria, hope everything is ok with you.

Better get a move on..

Enjoy your day an stay safe.

Shirley

Lloyd, I broke down & got the grinder for my Kitchen Aid mixer & then discovered I needed the heavier duty mixer so gave the one to my daughter & bought the 575 watt to grind my roasts for meat spread. My kids & grands practically fight over the meat spread I mix with Miracle Whip, sweet pickle relish, hard boiled eggs, onion & celery.  I buy the eye of round roasts and trim off all fat... usually very little... and I put ground meat in ziploc bags to freeze. Another of those "no preservatives" foods. Sam's Club has the best prices for those roasts.

I also bought a tenderizer to make minute steaks out of those roasts. Yummy & so much cheaper than when you buy the minute steaks already tenderized. If you want them to melt in your mouth I just run each slice through 2 or 3 times.... after browning each I make a gravy & put all back into the cast iron Dutch oven & bake a while, so good over mashed potatoes!

Cats fed so now my turn. Guess I'll watch church on TV again, so many new cases of the virus but also I've talked to a lot of people that have either colds or other types of flu.... I'm having several "left over" problems from the virus.... and what I've read, can go on for months. NOT what I wanted to hear.

Have a Super Sunday (thanks, Callie)... we are going to have spring temps the middle of the week, will be itching to hit the road but.....

JaneS

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I've been so busy with "stuff" this morning that this is my first chance to get with all of you.

When I finally found time to go out for the paper this morning, I found a box on the front porch delivered by Fedex and I don't know when!  When I opened it, I found a mug with picture of Emma and Mikey (my two Great Grands in OK) all around it. I first chuckled at the pictures and then "cried for happy" and I still have tears in my eyes when I think about it.  I think the tears are for missing out on so much of their growing years!  I offered a prayer that God will forgive us for whatever brought about this pandemic that prevents us from visiting our families and lift it's burden from us.  I don't think we appreciated all that we had before we lost it!

I'm sorry if I've unloaded too much on you today but I'm sitting here looking at pictures that are all over my office of family that I can't hug any more and I miss that!

Now I'm going to go get busy and try to think of happier things...like a clean floor or a tidy kitchen or some Christmas decorations....

Enjoy your day!  I hope it's as good as it can be!

((((( Jane)))) when this darn pandemic is over with I am sure there will be LOTS of hugs for everyone!! :smitten:  Forgot to say what a unique gift you have, that was so thoughtful of them to do that.

I did put a pot of soup on the back of the stove. We did have some for lunch and it was warming to the tummy. With the winds it is so cold out...hung the dogs bedding out and was glad to get back inside!

Have ribs slowly cooking for supper tonight...will figure out sides later..

Denver

A good Sunday Morning HELLO to EVERYFRIEND.

We are enjoying some warmer temperatures today.  It sure feels good, but of course the next snowmaker is on the horizon😷

AMY, I made a pot of soup yesterday and it just did not have the zing I was hoping for.  Seems the healthier I try to make something the less flavor it has😩😩. I bet yours you are making today will be delicious.  I did make a mighty tasty Turkey noodle soup with the broth from boiling the Turkey bones though....it was YUMMY!  It made me sad to read about the grocery store fire....how it will be missed.

LLOYD, how nice that you and Nancy are able to make yummy things with your fresh flour and meal.  Enjoy!

PHYLLIS, that sounds like quite a task to get the filters cleaned in your Dyson.  We have a Dyson as well and I know it is not an easy job to get the filters clean.

SHIRLEY, the tenderizer you have to make your minute steaks sound great.  Nice that your kids and grands enjoy the ground meat spread that you make.  I made a Turkey Salad with some of the TG Turkey...it really hit the spot.  We sure got a lot of meals off of that BIRD!

JANE, you are getting close to getting the package ready to mail.  Hope you get it off today!

Michele has had quite a time recently with horrible muscle aches.  She was miserable over TGivng.  They took her off of the Chemo pills thinking that was the issue, but come to find out it was the Coumadin that they put her on for the blood clot she had near her  port.  Now that med has been changed and she will start back on the chemo pills🙏🙏

I am off to fix a bit of breakfast, now brunch, actually Enjoy a peaceful day of rest.
