A good Sunday HELLO to all. 

Beautiful morning here in the Mile High City, but it is going to be a hot one.  It is awfully dry and we sure could use some rain.  Folks continue to shoot off fireworks at night even though they are banned due to the high fire danger.  Sure wish they would not! 

AMY, I would never attempt to put you or JANE in a bag....I KNOW well that either of you could take care of any of us!  Hahaha

GLORIA, your fresh fruit sounds yummmy, happy your son gets it for you.  I had cantaloupe for breakfast and it was very tasty.  Your cable issue sure sounds annoying to say the least.  Makes one afraid to even have them come out when you have to pay that exorbitant price if it is on your side.  I do know that occasionally we have to "reboot" our cable box, and Bob can get back there to do it, but I sure would not be able to.  I hope your grandson can help you. 

JANE, I love reading about your berry picking....what could be better than one for the bucket and two for the picker? 

JUNE, your day sounds perfect....enjoy!

HAL, it appears you have way too much to have to attend to while your wife is away.  I wish them a safe and enjoyable trip.

I love that graphic. It seems like little girls don't have Tea parties anymore. We all use to have little tea sets. and I brought one home from one of our trips back to UK for my girls and they would use them. But we brought a beautiful set back for the Grands and they still in box.  Maybe it is more a English Thing.  Sure will not do it now as they never get off their phones or tablets to do anything.  I have now 4 great Grand Daughters and that is all the do.  None know how to knit, Crochet. reads books. anything. Do have one though. the Eldest one. Such a great artist. Hope she keeps it up. Loves books also. Times a changing.

Back from Church and good to be home. One of our residents gave the homily today, and he was very interesting. Not preaching to us, but talking to us.He is described as a lay preacher and has been doing it for 29 years. He was a former aerospace engineer, and is still at that as a consultant.85 years of age.

Jeanne P. I too hope your Gr. Grandaughter continues as an artist. My oldest son was a graphic artist and made an excellent living that way. He worked at home for big companies. He retired at an early age. I doubt if there are many young girls anymore that play with dolls or tea sets. I doubt if many young people now have an "imagination". Everything is right out there for them to read...no need to "think".But they are far more learned than we ever were.

Jenny, I am going down for my main meal soon, then I will come home, put on comfy clothes, and just settle in for the day. I will bestir myself to go out for several walks before bed time though. I have got to keep the blood flowing, or lose it.

Good afternoon, a quite a hot and sticky day.  the AC is going full blast, but I think I will go out on the deck and read,  there is a nice breeze.

Gloria, seniors get $20. in coupons to shop at the farmers market. It is down by the river.  Yes you deserve to be lazy, this was my day, i did not get dressed till after 12 noon. Has a bad night went to sleep at 6. woke up with Taffy hit my face to wake me up.

June, I also say reading and posting in here is my life line to the outside.

Larry, I hope Pat feels better.  I went grocery shopping yesterday, I enjoy walking up and down the aisles. to day I know I did extra exercises. My legs really hurt, but like June, I have to use them, because of such poor circulation.

Amy, I think you just need to put your feet up and just rest for a day.

Gloria de, Good night dear. I'm sorry you have the artery problem as I have. But it could be worse. We are still able to get on our feet and walk. I use my rollator/cart all the time as my balance is so poor too. And it gives me a place to sit  when the legs cramp up, while out walking.

Now it is time for bed and book, and we can look forward to a new day tomorrow. I wish you all God's peace, hugs, and much love. June

Good morning everyone..

Another overcast day here...hope the rain holds off till I get the rest of the wood ashes to the dump today. Not sure what else is on the agenda,need to clean out the fridge and VON is coming in the afternoon.

Bathed both dogs yesterday and they smell so nice and their coats are soft and shiny. Need to make an appointment for the Border to get her needles. She is not fond of going to the vet ,even though our vet is an awesome lady and loves animals to pieces. She doesn't get the dog up on a table she gets down on the floor with them.

Good morning Amy and Everyfriend!  My kitchen cupboards are empty but the counters are loaded.  My cleaning dynamo is coming today to clean the cupboards and a lot of what's on the counters isn't going back in them.  I've been in touch with my daughter to stop by and point out anything she might want for herself or her kids before I start putting things back.  There are still two cupboards to go but I'm going to let Tami do the ladder to unload those. 

I better get moving.  I have to run by the ATM and WM before Tami arrives at 10.  I wish you all a great day.

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. â€" That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, â€" That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected, whereby the Legislative Powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

Hi everyone. Hi everyone.  I am getting off to a slow start this morning as didn't get up until a little after 8.  Pat beat me up this morning and had fixed her own breakfast.  The only thing on the schedule for today is to go down to our Kroger store and pick up an online order that Pat placed yesterday.  This will be our first time to use this service at Kroger.  It is going to be another hot and humid day with a halfway chance of rain this afternoon.

Lloyd, Bob's mom sounds like quite an interesting person and a good neighbor.  Life is too short not to try to enjoy each day. 

Gloria, you certainly have a good reason to be frustrated with Cox cable.  Glad your service is back on.  Are they the only cable company in your area?  All of my connections to our big TV are in a recessed area above our fireplace.  So I had my son plug in an extension cord that I can reach from under the front of the TV to unplug when necessary as cannot move the big TV by myself. Pat keeps a little flower like row on the ledge so the wires and cable boxes are not visible. In my office I have my computer desk set out in front of my storage closet so that all the wires are accessible.  The wires are visible but I no longer have to get down on the floor under the desk to access them.  A friend at Church yesterday gave me a big sack of homegrown tomatoes and cucumbers. 

June, certainly hope you don't experience the flu.  I haven't heard about it being a problem in our area.  That must be a good place to work if there is little turnover of staff. 

I am not going to comment to everyone today as my energy level seems low but enjoyed each and every posting.

Janie, yep, and I think I have it all figured out now.  That is why my back has been hurting so bad.  Not easy twisting around to see it...... ;)  I may have bragged to soon, it is bothering me a little this morning, of course I have been doing lots of walking.  My ladies just left for the airport  Anyhow, I have the water on this morning in the front giving my lawn a little drink.

When I went out this morning a grass snake was crossing the driveway heading to the back of the hedge in front of the house.  Just a couple of feet long.  I didn't bother him and he didn't bother me.

Good morning everyone, beautiful morning here, sun is shining and humidity is down, for now. My grandson was here yesterday and fixed a few things on this machine. Now to see if everything works like it should.

JUNE  like you my computer is important to me. I cannot think of life without it. I am glad I can still enjoy summer fruit.

JENNY  odd thing with the TV this morning I automatically turned it on and it was working. Now I will call and cancel that appointment.

GLORIA de  I always liked checking all the aisles in the market but I have not been in oe in over a year now. Have no idea what new items they have that might tempt me.

HAL  wow that is some reading. The name for RI, Stephen Hopkins, there are so many Hopkins in this town, wonder if they are descendants of his.

LARRY  Cox is the only service allowed in this building. Both my sons and grandson have changed to Verizon and they find the service much better.  From what I heard from different CNA's Cox is in all the senior housing.  We have no other choice. Tomato plants here are just about starting to blossom. Most people here do not plant till Memorial day, seldom have a frost after that.

Time to turn my AC back on before the sun hits my windows.

Good mid day. well I went to the sawbones and got the stitches out would been better off to have did it my self. he took little scissors and started chopping away got the stitches and scabs  and all started bleeding and opened up deep.
so i will get out the peroxide  and clean it up and put honey and a clean bandage on it and start over with the healing. wont trust him again.

Good morning ..9:30 in Stanton, ca. and the sun just broke out. I woke up….wide awake at 3:30 a.m. so this will be an "iffy" day for me. I will play it hour by hour.

Amy, I am a dummy…what is VON.  sounds like Veterans or Visiting Nurses ??? Two dogs bathed yesterday, so it sounds like even if you have bad weather you still have plenty to keep you busy. I remember those days…and it felt so good to accomplish things. Nice memories.

Larry, I do not need the Flu, so I am being very cautious..no hugs with anyone, and keeping my hands washed more frequently, and I use a commercial disinfectant wipe made by Lysol to wipe the handles of my cart, as our service people handle it daily, as they do many others. Yes, our staff is very happy and very loyal.

Hal…EEEEK ! A snake ! I haven't seen a snake since I left Mn. many moons ago. I hope your ladies have a wonderful trip and stay safe. Will your good son in law still be near by and available to you ? I hope so.

Gloria, Rowntree has a t.v. company called Direct  TV. I had never heard of it before. But I pay my connection fee to Rowntree, as I do my computer connection fee. It is included in my monthly rent statement. But the servicing is done by our Rowntree employees.

I must get down to our Library. two books to return and more to pickup so as much as I like to stay comfortable, I have to put on some "walking" clothes and be decent. See y'all later. June

Good afternoon, very warm again to day middle 80's

maryAnn, I have been taking my paper outside on the deck, and having my coffee. Just like to get the fresh air. The chip monk come up and eats out of the feeder I have on the porch.  To day while I was watching I wondered how small  there babies, must be when they are born.

Larry, we only have cablevision.

Gloria, right now that is my exercise, walking up and down the aisles, holding fast to the cart.  the only trouble, I see and buy something I don't always need. This last time I should not have checked out the bakery, first time in a long time I have done that. Would you believe? I bought one hard roll, one cranberry muffin and now hear this  a piece of Tiramisu cake. :smiley6600:

Hal, that was a lot of reading.  Someone sent me a list of all the movie stars that were in World 2, it is long list and lots of bronze , sliver stars plus purple hearts among. In those days every one seem to be patriotic.  On the 4th. people drove with flags on the radiator cap.  I remember our car, had a set of 4

The cleaning dynamo was here this morning and all my kitchen cupboards are clean.  Some are even empty.  I chucked a lot of stuff and I have a box ready for Goodwill.  My daughter stopped by and took an armload home with her.  BOY! am I every tired!

GLORIA de  in the bakery department at Stop & Shop I could never pass the Kaiser rolls or a slice of cheesecake.

JANE  some one must be cleaning closets here. Lot of things on a table in the laundry room that if anyone likes they can take. Good place to put something good you can no longer use. The table gets pretty full when someone new moves in or moves out.

 Jeanne Lee some times I seam to be blind in on eye and can't see out of the other,so may have missed something but why are scolding Gloria for posting a link about the forth ( so beautiful ) on the third Here. well I am tried Made two doctors calls today. first early at 8: A M . seen a male nurse he cut the stitches out of my wound also cut all the scab off and opened it wide open. and put 3 tapes over it called it good. just a while ago I took them off boiled it out with peroxide and put honey on it and covered it with a sterile bandage. so good night and sweet dreams.

Just a quick note to tell Everyfriend I have been in in ICU at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alalabama since a week ago Saturday.using a Cpap mask.  Today I had a thorostensis and they drew two liters of fluid off my left lung.  They hope then I can again use regular oxygen.  I will have to go to a rehab facility if I ever get out of here, and then have home health care.  Prayers would be appreciated.  I miss you all.
