DO YOU KNOW WHAT A GRANNY IS?
She is a mother who has aged
It's a heart that served
A mouth that laughed
Who shouted sometimes too
Eyes that cried
Of joys and happiness
Of sadness and pain
Arms that comforted
Hands that cuddled
Ears that listened
Sorrows and sorrows
Doubts and secrets
Dreams and hopes
Who heard the laughter
Nightmares and fears
And also the sighs....
And then the child grew up
He left to live his life
He built his nest...
And here we are, grandma,
Another love story begins
It's like a makeover
Procession of intense emotions
A book that we will write with four hands
We will be the keeper of confidences
The memory of memories
The laugh maker
The storyteller when evening comes
And we go to bed late
Because at grandma's,
Almost everything is allowed
She has the art of making us believe it
And most important of all
This is the love she has for us
- Author unknown -
Learning is the only thing the mind never exhausts, never fears, and never regrets.

Patience visited me
And it reminded me
That good things take time to come to fruition
And grow slowly with stability
Peace visited me
And it reminded me
That I may remain calm through the storms of life
Regardless of the chaos surrounding me
Hope visited me
And it reminded me
That better times lay ahead
And it would always be there to guide and uplift me
Humility visited me
And it reminded me
That I may achieve it
Not by trying to shrink myself and make myself less
But by focusing on serving the world and uplifting those around me
Kindness visited me
And it reminded me
To be more gentle, forgiving and compassionate toward myself
And those surrounding me
Confidence visited me
And it reminded me
To not conceal or suppress my gifts and talents
In order to make others feel more comfortable
But to embrace what makes me me
Focus visited me
And it reminded me
That other people's insecurities and judgements about me
Are not my problem
And I should redirect my attention
From others back to me
Freedom visited me
And it reminded me
That no one has control over my Mindset, thoughts and wellbeing
But me
And love visited me
And it reminded me
That I need not search for it in others
As it lies within me.
Good Morning Everyfriend and a special Good Morning to you, BUBBLE! I loved your opening of the new month. It is all so true and we need to remember it as life moves on with us!
Cooper is here and he's patiently waiting for daylight for his first walk of the day. I do not go out to walk in the dark any more. I don't know what's out there and I can't see the road in front of my feet so I take no chances. He's had his breakfast and he's ready to go.
I have an appt. with the ear dr. this afternoon. I hope she doesn't find any changes.
I wish you all a great day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow. Make it your own in every way. And don't forget to share with us how you did that. We need to know!
Good morning..
Another fine day in the making so it seems. Need to nip into town to pick up a few things then home to bake. There is one more job to do before winter sets in and maybe tomorrow will be the day to do it. We have a catch basin in the garage that needs cleaning out so tomorrow sound like the day..unless I can put it off to another day. :)
Bubble, thank you for the new start. Everything is spot on!
Jane, good luck at the ear Dr. Enjoy your walks with Cooper.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
I am distressed at all we have lost. So many people dead and many more still unaccounted for. All of the cities are sending help...fire companies, power line workers and just regular citizens are gathering as many supplies as they can and driving over to the mountains. Calls over our neighborhood networks and emergency networks pleading for help or informationfor about missing family and friends. Whole communities are just gone and others are completely cut off. And, still more rain! We here in central NC have flooding and storm damage but nothing as serious as our neighbors to the west. My personal worries and daily activities are so trivial.
I hope all of you here are well and safe. Take care, All.
 late
Good morning all. That last post is a hard one to follow.
:hello:
I agree, Rick.
Today, I think, is the last day we will see of the rain. The cold front coming in is slowly pushing what is left of Helene eastward. Next week it looks like temps at night will get into the high 40s.
Quote from: MarsGal on October 01, 2024, 09:22:12 AMNext week it looks like temps at night will get into the high 40s.
But still no killing frost to kill the ragweed, and curb allergies.
Phyllis, please stay safe. Watching the news is pure horror between weather and wars! One can only pray for calm on both fronts.
Rick, we also have a lot of goldenrod..a killing frost would sure help to make life a bit easier.
Thanks, Amy. David and I are fine here in Central NC and no trees on the house this time...praise be! Trying to find info about my husband's niece and her family in Asheville but no communication coming through yet. I will just have to be patient and hope they are all right.
Phyllis, so glad to read that you and David are safe! I hope the niece/family are, too.
Pollen is high in Oklahoma, too. :tissue: We're also back in a drought situation. Would be nice if the rain could gently spread across the nation.
Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!
We're getting the rain here in Centra PA. It's rained at least part of every day for the past two weeks and it isn't stopping. Tomorrow will be the same! And when it isn't raining it's foggy and dull!.
Well, I made a mistake. I was all ready for my trip to the ear dr. Cathy even showed up at the right tim to take me but she said that the appointment is tomorrow. I went and looked at my card and the calendar and she was right. so we had a little chat and she left and I got back into my house clothes! And when Frankie picked up Cooper, her first words were, "I thought you weren't going to be here when I picked him up!" It was dumb day!
Now I'm ready to sleep again. I'm heading for the haystack early because I have to be up and attem by 5 in the morning. That's EARLY!!
I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy day tomorrow! Don't forget to stop by and tell us what you did! We need to know!
Managed to get the baking done and sent 34 buttertarts home with our friend. One apple pie is now ready for forks. :) Clouding over and we may get rain tonight.
Jane , sweet dreams. We had heavy fog here this morning.
Good Morning to AMY and anyone else who shows up. Cooper is here. He had his breakfast and is waiting patiently for the daylight to arrive. I will not walk in the dark any more!
If I got up off this chair and walked into the kitchen, he would be right on my heels thinking it was time to go so I'm stuck here until light shows in about 15 minutes.
I'll be getting ready for my ear appointment...AGAIN! Today is the day! We're going to make a stop at the Farmer's Market on the way. {Cooper is in office doorway checking if it's time to go
I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow. Poke your head in here and let us know how that was! We're the naturally nosy type!
Good morning ..
Jane, still a bit too dark here to walk. You can sing "Me and My Shadow. with Cooper.
Nothing planned for today other than house duties...and just maybe some sewing.
We had some rain during the night and the temps are just going to be in thte low 60°s.
Enjoy your day and stay safe
Thank you, Callie, for your concern. Communication with western NC is still disrupted so not able to reach neice yet. Eventually we will be able to get messages back and forth, I'm sure.
Cloudy today with showers predicted but nothing yet. I slept better last night so hopefully I can do something useful today. I am expecting a food delivery today so must make some room in the freezer.
Take care, All.
Good morning, 25 degrees here and clear. It is so dry now, with little to no humidity, that I've had to clean and bring out my humidifier, especially at night.
Meet and greets went well, we picked up a new member, a daughter who moved here to be with her mom and remembers us from her childhood.
Today, I'll be heading out to pay bills, turn in paperwork and meet some friends for lunch and some shopping.
I'm getting ready to hit the haystack. Morning comes early again tomorrow. Cooper will be here a bit before 6 and I'll need to have my breakfast and be dressed and ready to meet him.
Today, Cathy and I went to the Farmers Market and I got some Cauliflower for the freezer and some red beets to cook and get ready to go with meals and some sweet peppers. Then we went to the ear dr. and she gave me a bit more sound in hy hearing aids. I wasn't aware that she could do that but it feels great. We got back home just as Frankie was pulling away with Cooper in her car! I have the cauliflower all cleaned. Tomorrow morning I'll get it ready for the freezer and cook some to go with my supper. In addition to the veggies, I got some stuffed pork chops and some ham at the Farmers Market. There's this one meat stand that I love. The guy raises animals on his farm and gets it all ready himself and it's the best meat I've ever eaten!
I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy day tomorrow. Make the day your own in every way. And let us know how you did that. Maybe we'll follow your lead!
Good morning.
Another sunny day here, when the sun wakes up.
Busy day ahead, outside just about ready for winter,a few more things to do and that is it. Pulled the rest of the green bean plants and just carrots left but will leave them till they get a bit of a frost.
Jane, sounds like you got a good haul at the market!!
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning! This will be a quickie because I'm sure Frankie will be on the way with Cooper any minute! When she calls that she's on the way, I meet her in the driveway.
I've had my breakfast and Cooper's breakfast is ready for him when he arrives. I'm also ready to get the cauliflower ready for the freezer. Maybe I can manage that while we wait for the sky to lighten for our morning walk.
AMY, you;re almost ready for winter in your area. I don't want snow but I know we'll have the cold (and probably some snow, too).
I have an appt to get a haircut this afternoon and we're picking up some necessaries at WM. Cathy wil shop while I cut.
Frankie just called so I'll be off to meet my doggie friend. I wish you all a great day!
Good morning, 22 degrees and sunny this morning, with a forecast of mixed snow and rain next Monday night into Tuesday. We've been a month ahead seasonally since mid-July, and the surprising lengthy cold rain had been depressing. I can only hope the summer was an anomaly and not a new normal.
I've finished my meet and greets, brewed my first cup of coffee and done my morning domestic duties as Callie would say. And I do have to go out sometime today to pay a couple of bills I can't do online, but otherwise, the usual quiet day.
Hello to the two who showed face in here and also to anyone who peeked in but didn't post. I got a LOT done today! Half of the cauliflower is frozen, the stuffed pork chops got cooked for supper and tomorrow I'll make up a couple dinners and freeze some and keep at least one to eat tomorrow. The beets are pickled and in jars in the fridge. I cooked a sweet tater to go with my supper and there's enough for tomorrow's supper, too. Also, tomorrow the rest of the cauliflower will be frozen for later dinners.
Cathy took me to WM for my haircut and then we both did some shopping but we forgot about getting a Covid booster. So that;s still on the agenda.
I have to be up to meet Cooper at 5:45 tomorrow so I'm off to the haystack pretty soon. I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy day tomorrow. Be sure to let us know how you spent that day. We're the nosy type! And maybe you did something we might like to try!
Quote from: JaneS on October 03, 2024, 07:44:15 PManyone who peeked in but didn't post.
That's me. I did nothing --- except peek in.
Good morning..
Starting out at 40° and staying in the low 60's. Went for my pneumonia shot yesterday and today we both get our covid shot. After that it will be the flu shot when they are ready.
Not sure what today will bring , know there are a lot of little jobs to be done. plus the fridge needs cleaning...will see which one wins.
Jane, I picked up a nice cauliflower yesterday. Some will be ate raw with a sour cream onion dip and the other cooked with cheese sauce.
Better get ready for the day...
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning! It's 52 degrees and foggy as heck out there. Cooper and I went for a walk and we were lucky to be able to see about 30 to 40 feet ahead! It's not supposed to warm up much and the skies are not supposed to clear. Gunky day!
I have the last of my cauliflower in the freezer on cookie sheets. When it freezes, it goes in bags but I kept some out to cook for supper. AMY, I like the idea of cheese sauce on it. I might have to look that up! I'm going to separate the stuffed pork chops and make a couple of dinners with them and fried sweet potatoes and cauliflower. And that's my day so far.
RICK, nice to know you peeked in! I wish everyfriend a great day. Make it your own in every way. And tell us how you did that! Maybe we'll want to try it out!
Last night was spent napping 20 minutes here and there...
Same here,Patricia. Had to be up, dressed and breakfasted before house cleaner came. She's a whiz and likes to start in my bedroom/bathroom/closet. I "help" by staying out of her way. ;D
I've had another busy day! Cathy made me an appointment for a flu shot and called to tell me when she'd pick me up. We went and did that and still got back before Frankie picked up Cooper.
I made a couple of dinners out of the stuffed pork chops I cooked yesterday. Cooked some of the fresh cauliflower to go with it and baked a potato that I cut in half to make two meals. I'm ready for tomorrow! And I think I'll take tomorrow off! I've been busy all this week working on this and that and I've made a lot of progress.
I know my cleaning lady comes sometime this month on a Saturday but I think closer to the middle of the month! I have it written down somewhere...i think on the calendar. I guess I better check that out! She did a great job the last time!
I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy day tomorrow. Make it your own in every way. And let us know how you did that. We're nosy!
Good Morning, Everyfriend!
Hi, Jane!
Ah, just spied Garfield. I have only five of my Garfield mugs and two Kliban cats hanging on my mug stands, the rest are still packed away. I remember that cartoon, and I have one mug with something about Coffee in the morning, but I don't think that is the cartoon on it. When I was working, my "I hate Mondays" mug was a favorite. Come winter, my two Denny's mugs, which change pictures as the mug cools, and my Garfield Christmas mugs will replace some of the ones on the stands now.
Speaking of Denny's, we only have one close-by now. The one in Camp Hill recently closed.
Good morning back at'cha Jane. :) :)
We had our covid shots yesterday and today Kyle is going for his hair cut.
Laundry to do, baking to do..just maybe sewing to do also!
Enjoy your day and stay safe./b]
MG, that mug that changes colour sounds interesting!!
We have been here 24 years and I still have unopened boxes, guess the items were just not needed.
Quote from: Amy on October 05, 2024, 06:45:32 AMWe have been here 24 years and I still have unopened boxes, guess the items were just not needed.
Either that or you just bought new.
Good morning anyony.
I'm having a lazy day! I was so busy all week that I just can't make myself do anything today. Cooper got here about 10 of 6, had his breakfast and we waited for daylight for our walk. It was a very productive one on his part and a long one too. When we got back he got his goodies and conked out on the couch. I finished up in the kitchen, made the bed and joined him. I do feel a bit better now. We went out and spent some time in the yard, filled the bird feeder and picked the LAST of the tomatoes....2 green ones and three little red ones!
It sounds like you've all been doing your dailies. I did mine in reverse of Kyle. I got my hair cut Thursday and my flue shot upgrad Friday.
I hope you all have a good day today. Do whatever pleases you best! Everyone deserves a day off!
Good morning, I got a nap in yesterday, something I don't usually do because it throws off my already irregular sleep schedule. It wasn't planned, I woke up on the couch not knowing if it was still Friday or Saturday at 6:50 and had to check my phone. I think I had at least three solid hours in.
Today's morning chores, meet and greets, and schedule checks are done, and I'm enjoying my first cup of coffee. Farrah's been fed with fresh water, and she's off for another nap. I'm expecting a package for a neighbor, and that's the only thing I have on today's schedule, at least until I check emails and the morning news.
MG, I used to have a good mug collection until I started using the lidded insulated mugs, so I gradually donated all but four basic ones for company. Then last summer, I culled the insulated ones, so I have four tall black ones, two for cold and two for hot drinks. And I could probably cull at least two of those.
I see all of these obscenely expensive Stanley insulated mugs and I don't understand it, but I guess everyone wants in on the latest thing and keep up with the influencers.
There are no stores in my area, they're across the river, whereas I live in the original city center, where all the streets are two lanes and the fifties and before era buildings are all offices or banks.
To the south and north are a number of older neighborhoods from the same time period and before, most on the historic register, but all the major shops, stores, schools, malls and more modern four - lane roads are to the east over at least two rivers crossings.
We do have many delivery options, but I don't want to be any more housebound than I already am.
Jane, I sometimes wish I had my own "Cooper," but we're allowed only one pet here. I'd be out more and socialize at the adjunct dog park. My sister, when she returns from her trip, is looking into a standard poodle.
She has always had dogs, at one time breeding and training Dalmatians until that Disney movie came out, and she got disgusted with people. She had a small dog until a couple of years ago that had many allergies, which is why she's looking into poodles.
I've got plans to get my last three shots next week, having had flu and my fourth covid shots last month. I'd planned on shingles, and RSV, but suddenly at least three or more have mentioned getting pneumonia shots, and I'm wondering when it will end and do I really need one of those too?
Has anyone heard from or about Beverly?
I had a normal day today. I had Cooper so we did our walks and he spent some time in the yard. The sun was out so I liked being out there. He hasn't been going out much while we had the bad weather.
I haven't been to church since I had COVID but I'm thinking of going tomorrow. I don't think I want to stay for the coffee hour because I really don't want to mingle. I do think that's where I picked up the Covid germ and I am a bit leery about going back. I guess tomorrow will be the answer.
I haven't heard anything about Beverly. I'm curious, too!
I'm off to the haystack early again tonight. I have to be up and attem to meet Frankie about 5:45. That's early and I like to have my breakfast before Cooper gets here to beg.
I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a good day tomorrow. Make it your own in every way. And let us know how you did that!
I'm friends with Beverly on Facebook. Just found this post on her page. It was posted on September 21. Obituary says she "passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
This is Donna Pratt, Beverly's oldest daughter. Mom passed away on September 11th. You can see her obituary at

Beverly Pratt
Callie, I was unable to access the page, access is forbidden
Thank you for letting us know of her passing.
I could get it through the daughter's post on Facebook but got the same thing you did when I tried on the link here. Tomorrow,I'll try to access it on Facebook and copy/paste it here.
Callie...so sorry to hear the sad news about Beverly...
Good morning..
I think we may have had frost last night! We do know what is coming but I don't mind if it is slow in getting here. Today is Kyles birthday and I am thinking ham, scalloped potatoes ,fresh carrots and brussel sprouts. And cake!
Yesterday was busy, Kyle wasn't up to go for his hair cut so I went to work. All the tomato plants were pulled ,neighbour said he was taking theirs to the dump so ours went too! Did laundry ,cut the grass.. not sure if it will need cutting again or not before winter. All that needs to be done outside is powerwash the verandah and walkway. Then I can get busy at cutting down some trees, the neighbours septic tank is close by and I am they need to go so they don't run into trouble with the roots..
Just let Jesse back in and geese a lot of them were honking, thought they were far away until some flew over head ,could heard the wind in their wings! No calls from the loons maybe they have moved on?
Callie, thank you,Beverly will be missed!
Rick, there are things we thiink we need when younger but can do without when "wiser". Plus we emptied our 5th wheel and have seconds of items from it. I need to purge more. Can't imagine how family is going to deal with my fabric stash! I had better get busy and make more cancer quits!
Jane, enjoy your time at church. When I pulled the tomato plants the green tomatoes went with them. They remind me too much of tomato worms :(
Better get the day started.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning Everyfriend! I'm so sorry to hear about Beverly but I'm sure she's in a better place!
When I went out this morning to meet and greet Cooper, ,y paper guy, his wife and dog beat them here so I had a visit and quick pet of the doggie and then Frankie arrived. It's been a busy morning here!
AMY, I pick the green tomatoes because I remember my mother canning them and using them in recipes. So I do that too and they do give a bit different flavor to some things. I think I'd miss that. And my mom would frown!
I'm off to the showers to get myself ready for work. Then I'll sit and read the paper until Cathy gets here! I hope you all have a great day. Make it your own in every way. And be sure to tell us how you did that! We're the nosy type!
Sad to hear that Beverly is no longer with us. My condolences to the family.
Thank you, Callie, Beverly was one of the first group to welcome me at Seniornet when I first ventured forth from the PSP folder. The others were Rae, Adrienne, Jerry, Norm, Bubble, Papa John, P. Roe, Gladys and many others.
Later on. Gladys kept telling me about her nephew in Homer, sure that I must have known him. Then she would tell me about her garden under a tree and how she would climb out her window to tend it because it was easier than using the door.
Bunny was the first to invite me to SeniorNet when ThirdAge was breaking up. I can't believe how long ago that was.
Well, that was a nice little storm. Thunder, pounding rain and it was kind enough to leave our power on.
Power is always nice to have! With all the dreary, ceaseless rain we had in August and September, we were lucky to only have flickers here and there, but the longer ones requiring everything to be reset were bad enough!
I saw a photo from Ginny Ann just now from the left's random images, and it reminded me that she and Bunny, who had been on both ThirdAge and SeniorNet were gracious enough to tell me about the groups on SeniorNet and helped me along the way when I joined.
Well, we had a half-and-half day today. This morning, it was so foggy you couldn't see half a block ahead when we went for our walk and this afternoon, the sun was blinding!
It was a good day all around. Nice to see my church friends again and I think they were happy to see me back and in good health.
I got a lot done when I got home. Yesterday, DIL Sarah dropped off a dinner from somewhere they'd been and when I opened it, it was enormous. There was a whole half chicken in it, plus a roll, a cookie, some macaroni and cheese, and some baked beans. I divided it up and I have 3 dinners out of it. I ate one today and the other two are waiting.
Tomorrow is another day! I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a good day tomorrow. Make it your own in every way and don't forget to stop by and tell us how you did that. We very interested! Maybe we can do the same some time.
Good Evening, I didn't copy/paste Beverly's obituary - mainly because I got sidetracked on Facebook by Dr. Emily's post announcing the opening of her very own Chiropractic Clinic in December! I knew she was planning to do so but didn't realize she was ready. She leased what looks like a small building, got a friend to plan the decor and even has a reading/play area. One proud Gammy here!!!!!!
Since the regulars have acknowledged Beverly's passing, I think I'll skip it - unless several want me to try again.
Sleep well, Everyfriend and have Pleasant Dreams.
Thank you, Callie and Rick. It was nice to have a place to remember her, and I'll return to see if they post her obituary.
That was the wrong one I posted, so removed it.
Good morning..
Will only go to 55° today with the sun playing tag with the clouds. Working around home today doing Callie's domestic duties..
Our supper didn't go as planned last night, a friend gave us a meat pie she had just made so that was supper and it was delicious!
Callie, what an accomplishment for Dr Emily!!! You have every right to be one proud grammy!!
Better get the day started.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
CALLIE, they are right. You have every reason to be proud of EMILY! She sounds like a very special person!
I've been up and about since 5 a.m. and I'm thinking seriously of joining Cooper on the sofa for a nap. The getting up so early is starting to get to this old lady! We've had our walk and cleaned up everything we used and now I'm ready to turn over and stop thinking!
I hope you all have a great day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow! Make it your own in every way!
Dark morning here today. Here it is ten thirty and I still need a light on. As usual, nothing on the schedule.
Rick , it was black as a boot out here earlier and we did have a light sprinkle. Now the sun is out with white clouds floating by.
Baked beans on cooking and I just need the liver to cool off so it can be cut up for Jesse. Laundry is on the go ...always something to do!
Good Morning Everyfriend! I didn't get to say goodnight last night because my computer decided to take a rest and not work the rest of the evening. And I was tired enough that I gave it it's own way and left it alone.
I'm just finishing my breakfast and waiting for a call from Frankie that she's on the way. I'm not sure if that will happen. When she picked up Cooper yesterday she wasn't feeling so good and she might just not go to work today. I guess I'll find out when the phone rings! Now the question is, "Do i have company for my morning walk or will I be walking alone"! I sure do hope she's OK!
It's cold here ...down in the high 50s and only getting into the high 60s for the day! I hope it's not foggy all day! I wish you all a good day. Make it your own in every way! And be sure to share with us how you did that! We miss you when you don't stop by!
Good morning..
Jane, tis chilly here with a temp of 33°with a high of 53°.
Busy day ahead, Kyle is going to try and get his hair cut today. Then home to do what didn't get done yesterday.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
I made a mistake on the temps! We're in the low 40s and only hitting the low 50 later in the day. Cooper and I just got back from our walk and it's COLD out there!
This before the correction "It's cold here ...down in the high 50s and only getting into the high 60s for the day! I hope it's not foggy all day! ".
That sounds like here, but without the fog. Gonna be a busy one today.
Foggy here as well...sun is burning it off now.
Phyllis, any word on your niece?
Good morning, 23 right now with a high of 41 today. And of course, it's one day I need to go out. Here's what we have to look forward to.
Start
3:05 PM
Sunday, October 6
End
4:00 PM
Tuesday, October 8
...Light Snow Expected Tonight into Tomorrow...
A changing weather pattern will bring cooler temperatures and snow chances to much of the Central Interior through the week. There may be some light snow showers or flurries on today, but accumulating snow is expected from Tuesday night into Wednesday. Overall light snow accumulations are expected with 0.5-1.5 inches around Fairbanks and 1-3 inches north of Fairbanks along the Dalton Highway and in the higher terrain.
Oh Joy...
Today was a "Cooper Day" withe two long walks and lots of lovies. He was out in the front yard for a while but it was pretty cold and after he barked at everything he could find to bark at he came in and took a nap. And I took one with him. After his Mom picked him up a little after 2:30 I got busy and got some stuff done.
I decided that I didn't feel like watching any TV tonight so I tried reading. My eyes don't last long enough to read very long any more but I did better than I thought I would. And now I'm ready for the haystack. Christy will be coming up from Maryland tomorrow and Frankie doesn't work but she said she might be by to give Cooper a bath. So the day could get busy!
I wish you all a peaceful nights sleep and a happy tomorrow! Make the day your own in every way. And PATRICIA, please keep that snow in your area. I do not want it here!
Dentist done and the tree trimmer was here today. Lots of $$$ gone.
I agree Patricia - keep the snow up there. We haven't even had a frost yet but would welcome a killing frost to knock down the ragweed.
Most of the birds seem to have gone south. The sparrows and doves will hang around.
I agree that the majority of the birds are long gone for the winter and the ravens have returned from the mountains as they like the cooler weather. The smaller birds, redpolls, sparrows, chickadees, Juncos, etc. are all that's left, along with a few hawks.
Most of the bears, martins, minks, otters, fox, hares, woodchucks, shrews, and voles disappear for the winter and the wolves move in closer to town for more available meals.
What I don't like has been the latter dismal half of our summer and the possible early snow that normally shows up at Halloween. I believe the Farmer's Almanac prediction of a mild, dry winter may be incorrect.
I was finishing up several errands downtown and while the skies were gray and cloudy, there was as yet no snow, but it was freezing out with a wind that went right through you.
Good morning.
Guess we had better get used to the cold , 33° with rain in the forecast.
Going to try again to get Kyles hair cut, then home to pull some carrots. A/C was covered up yesterday ,I don't think we will need it now.
Rick, the saying "Put your money where your mouth is" really comes true after a visit to the dentist. :2funny:
Patricia, Kyle calls that a lazy wind, rather go through you than around you!
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning Everyfriend! Lots of early risers in here today! I don't have Cooper today but I'm up and attem early. I stripped the bed and I'm washing the mattress pad now. I have my breakfast and my first coffee here while I greet my friends!
I was delighted to see all of you here already! PATRICIA, things are changing in Alaska! Animals are moving around, birds are moving out and moving in! Your weather is changing direction through instead of around you!
RICK, I'll take the frost to kill the weeds that we don't want but I hope it does that at night while I'm sleeping and then clears off by morning!
AMY our temps are low today but not as low as yours! Right now it's 45 out there and supposed to reach a high of 63 and sunny later today. I have to get a walk in before the sun belt me in the eyes. As soon as I finish my breakfast and my visit with friends, I'll be getting dressed, putting the mattress cover in the dryer and heading out the dorr.
I wish you all a great day! Take it and make it your own in every way! And don't forget to let us know how you did that. We love to know what your doing out there! (see, I didn't say we're nosy)
Quote from: Amy on October 09, 2024, 06:05:43 AMRick, the saying "Put your money where your mouth is" really comes true after a visit to the dentist. :2funny:
I love it. Dentists should have a sign like that in their offices
Still waiting to look out in the morning and see that white haze on my car. Frost that will burn off as the sun comes up (Which it doesn't seem to be doing today.).
First heat of the season this morning. Starting at the low 50's
The Power/Gas Company is digging up the street in front of the neighbors house now - to replace a gas pipe. Needless to say our street was recently repaved.
  Got the haircut!! Still not very warm out and we also have the furnace on. Good day for a stew or hearty soup???
Good morning, we started at 27 and presently at 32, hoping to make it to a whopping 41 degrees today. Today was supposed to be rain and snow, but all we've had is the rain. I haven't heard about the outlying areas. Now they've moved the snow forecast to Saturday.
I didn't get my scheduled shots yesterday as I've inconveniently acquired a cold, runny nose and all. Both the pharmacist and my doctor suggested I wait. So, I came home with zinc instead. I still managed to spend, even though the two reasons I went I couldn't get. The planner I've waited for, a simple, book bound 8X11, with only a few designations, wasn't out yet. All they had were the ones with everything useless crammed in and filled with hundreds of stickers to highlight what you just wrote. :coolsmiley: ::)
Jane, I guess they call that the circle of life, arctic style. I've got laundry down for today too, but it was also down for last weekend...
Rick, we've had frost since late September and weeks of rain, a summer type we hadn't seen since 1967 when we had an area wide flood they still talk about. Luckily, we were spared that this year.
Amy, glad Kyle got his haircut. I need to get one too, but another area I'm procrastinating on.
I'm sitting here with my version of fancy coffee, very hot water, strong black coffee, 1.4 cups of milk and a scoop of organic chocolate all blended.
Goodnight ghosts
Good morning.
A few need to do jobs today , I want to start the generator and fill it up with gas .Snowblower is next to make sure it is in good working condition, rather have no surprises when I really need it. The pine needles have dropped so I need to deal with those one day.
Patricia, your fancy coffee sounds interesting!
Jane, enjoy your company.
Rick, is one called Casper?
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning! Christy is watching the forcast about the horrible storm in Florida! I watched for a bit but I saw what I needed to see. I know theres at least one friend of mine involved in this. He graduated from high school with me and we knew everyone in high school back in the old days. His kids are on face book and Christy has been in contact but we still don't know where he is.
We just had a nice walk with both doggies and I'm ready to take off for my appt with the dr. It takes about a half hour to get there.
I hope you all have a great day! Make it your own in every way! And PLEASE... let us know how you did that. We all need help!
My younger son and daughterinlaw are at Disney World . I just got a message from them telling me they are fine and came through the storm ok. They have some damage in the area but the hotel they are in came through just fine. I woke up several times worrying about them. I hope we are through with hurricanes for awhile. Cloudy here today but NO wind! Thankfully!
Phyllis, nice to read good news!!
Is the door locked? No one came in here today. But goodnight anyway - if you should find your way in.
Good morning..
Dense fog this morning, I am happy there is no trip to the city until next week!
Kyle has xrays this morning then the rest of the day is clear to work around home.
Better get started while the ambition is there.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good morning. Our coolest morning so far this season at 40°. Still no frost. Nothing much planned for today except take of my allergy dripping nose..
Unusual, but Jane hasn't checked in today, or out last night.
I'm still around RICK, just busy with family visiting and getting wrapped up in togetherness! We have two doggies and we take lots of walks and Christy is into fixing some stuff for me. We're also making some pretty good meals. I'm probably eating better this week than I do when I'm all alone.
It's so cold here that I've broken out my winter coat and today I'm rooting out some gloves. Taking a doggie for a walk and holding that leash in my hand the whole time freezes my fingers!
I have to get back to helping Christy fix stuff. So I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow. I'll try to be back in to say good night tonight but if I don't make it, please forgive me. I miss you all when I don't get here..
Good morning 27 and dense fog out there, but the patchy snow we had was more of a glaze in spots is melting, and the rain expected tomorrow will be only that.
Nothing new to report on my end. Met and greets, keeping me and Farrah clean and fed and a clean house is about it these days. I've picked up a nagging case of the sniffles, and keeping the coffee hot and the humidifier running and the computer on is about it right now. Everyone I know locally is doing the same, minus the sniffles.
It is a bit chilly here, too, at 50o outside. The indoor thermometer said 67o, so I decided today would be a good day to check-see if the heating unit is working.
Later on, I plan on driving over to the Vet's office to pick up meds for Oscar. His liver function is still off by a little and he lost about a pound and a quarter in six months. He got his usual shots and a cortisone shot for his stuffy nose. The medicine is a thyroid med the doc wants to try because, he said, some liver conditions are tied to thyroid problems. It is not the same kind of med that Lucy had, so I will be looking it up on the net before I actually give him any. I am not sure the liver function test included thyroid numbers.
I am expecting a new HEPA filter for my air purifier to arrive sometime next week. I haven't ordered yet but I want to get MERV 8 grade filters for the central air. Right now the apartment people are using MERV 3 and only change it out every six months. I think they are supposed to be changed out every two to three months.
I've been trying to keep an eye out for the deer, but they haven't shown up in quite a while now. I did see the black cat the other day. Unless this is another one, it has grown up and filled out over the summer. My sister has been trying out several deer repellents now that her backyard has been redone. She is determined that they are not going to chew up her newly planted hosta.
Back from the hospital, what a lovely young lady that took the xrays! Standing is difficult on Kyle but she was so patient and understanding!
Rick, only 33° here and lots of fog.
Patricia, no snow here as of yet but it is coming! :(
MG, your sister has herwork cut out for her as deer love hostas!! Buffet for them.
We have our Thanksgiving this weekend and I read this while at the bank this morning.
Why did the turkey get kick out of school?
Because he was using foul language.
What does a turkey say to the computer?
Google google.
Off to work I go..
Good Afternoon. It's been a busy week for me with various "comings and goings".
Neighbors were visiting her mother in Naples, Florida during Milton. We had a group that were sharing information and learned today that they were at the airport (don't know which one) and were coming home because everything was fine.. Our prayers were answered.
Think I mentioned that Dr. Emily is opening her own clinic. She was here for lunch today and I offered her my 48 cup percolator for the office. She said, "What's a percolator?"
Generation Gap on name???? ;D (She took it).
Love the turkey jokes, Amy!
Have a good rest-of-your-day, Everyfriend
I'm ready for bed and I put one of my eye drops in and now I have to wait a bit till I can put in the last one for today. So here I am to wish you all a good night and to hope you all had a good day.
CALLIE, you must be so proud of Emily! I bet she's going to do great in her clinic! Thanks for stopping by to let us know about that! Is the clinic near you or is she the one who is in New York City?
I have to be up and attem in the morning because my "once-a-month" cleaning lady will be here at 8:30 tomorrow and Christy will be packing up to leave for home. I guess I better head for the haystack so I can hit the floor early! I wish you all a good night! Sleep well and wake refreshed and ready to go! And have a good day tomorrow!
TV break. Goodnight anyone.
I woke up this morning to discover I got interrupted last evening before posting this and then forgot about it.
Another Sue story, some of which I mentioned before. This one about her neighbor. Her neighbor's dog chased and got sprayed by a skunk. I guess this was six to eight weeks ago now. She called in an animal control guy, and because she had seen skunks in Sue's yard, she requested that he place traps in her yard too. After about two weeks, the total catch was one possum, one cat, and three or four skunks. That is when she finally said okay, enough. Although Sue offered to help pay the bill, the neighbor declined. The cat and possum were let go.
So, Oscar update. The shot Oscar got helped to clear up his nose and shrink the swollen tissues. He is perkier now, eating lots better, and the perpetual snot machine is draining out the nose now instead of down the back of his throat which was causing him to spit up phlegm. The med I picked up at the vets this morning turns out not to be a prescription thing for his thyroid, but a pet version of SAMe. To top it off, if it works to improve his liver, I can get it on Amazon, Chewy, Walmart and other places. It is a supplement for liver and thyroid conditions. George used to use SAMe but I forget what for.
Good morning.
Little warmer 43° with no fog! High winds during the night but didn't lose power. Laundry today and some baking to do.
Rick, soon we will be able to watch Oak Island. One show I am enjoying is NUMBERS for the time being.
Jane, are you finding the leaves are staying on the trees longer this year?
Patricia, talking with the neighrour over the fence he said a bad word....and we may get it on Mon...SNOW!
Bubble, hope you are ok?
Better get at it.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Quote from: Amy on October 12, 2024, 07:44:42 AMRick, soon we will be able to watch Oak Island. One show I am enjoying is NUMBERS for the time being.
My son is the big fan of "Oak Island". I watch it but don't get upset if I miss a week. "Numbers" doesn't ring a bell here. Don't recall even seeing it listed. I'll have to check that.
Cool mornings lately, but still waiting for that frost. I hope it comes before my nose wears out.
Good morning, cloudy and 41 degrees at 7:33 this morning, we're going through a mini warm stage. The snow almost disappeared with yesterday's rain, but next week will bring small amounts of either rain or snow.
Meet and greets, morning routines are all finished, and I'm here with my first cup of coffee and only a small amount of, hopefully stopping soon, sniffles.
The only wildlife we'll see in the center of town are the ravens, a few small over wintering birds and the usual carousers. The moose, lynx and hares tend to stay in the suburbs, or at least more visible there.
Good "whatever part of the day it is"! Christy just left to head bad home to Maryland. My cleaning ladies were here at 8:30 this morning and Christy and I sat out on the front forch and visited while they cleaned. And I now have a CLEAN house to live in.
I also don't have any company any more. Frankie has the weekend off and Christy just went home. Cathy is out of town for the weekend so she won't be stopping by. But she did come over yesterday and stayed for supper. We ordered pizza and Christy went and picked it up and Frankie joined us. It was a fun evening!
Now I wish you all a good rest of the day. Make it your own in every way! It's yours!
Good morning
Over cast with a temp of 37° at the moment. Looks like the sun may play peek a
boo all day.
A day of rest here.may get some sewing done. This weekend is Thanksgiving and the highways are busy!
Thought I would be smart and get into pj's early last evening, when I went to the window I noticed a hen in the backyard. Not wanting Jesse to hurt her I changed back into clothes and finally got her where she belonged.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Well, I just spent the morning watching Starship. What a spectacular morning out there, what a spectacular booster catch. Too bad Starship exploded again, but at least this time is was after it landed in the water. There was a live shot from the homing buoy of it coming in and then exploding.
It is almost lunch time, so I had better get started with my day.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, AMY!!!
Good Morning To Everyfriend who shows up today!
I've been up and attem for a while...did two loads of wash, took a long walk alone, went to church and now I'm having my lunch while more stuff washes. It's mostly "catch-up" stuff that got stripped when the cleaning lady came. I'm eating leftovers for lunch and I have stuff ready to make a casserole for supper.
I hope you all have a great day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow. Make it your own in every way. And tell us how you did that!
:cup:
Well, I'm ready for the haystack but I have to wait until the dishwasher goes into the dry cycle and I finish my eye drops for the day. I have one more eyedrop to do and I have to wait a half hour. I hope thats long enough for the DW to finish the wash cycle!
I had a busy day and I'm ready to conk out for the night. Cooper will be here at 5:45 or so and I have to be up and ready for him. That will get me an early start tomorrow and I should be able to finish my laundry. The casserole turned out very good for supper and I'll be looking forward to having it again tomorrow.
I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow@ Come by and tell us what you're up to so we can either join you or be glad we don't have to join you! Good Night!
Good morning..
Temp is 29° this morning..guess we should get used to that and colder!
Quiet day here, just the two of us so no turkey but a ham with pineapple on topand sides wih pumpkin pie and whipped cream for dessert.
Jane, bundle up tis chilly out there!! I just let the dishwasher wash and then I open the door a bit and let it steam dry. Saves on power.Thank you for the happy Thanksgiving.
Patricia, I see you popping in and out. :)
Rick, hope you slept well....whispering so I don't wake you up.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning Everyfriend!
RICK, I see where you were when I posted! Happy snoozing!
AMY, your dinner sounds good and I'd take it for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Uears. Valentine's Day or whatever!
Cooper is here and we're waiting for daylight. I do not go out and walk in the dark! He's pretty good about waiting but he ready to go when he sees me move. The sky is lightening up a bit now but sunrise is predicted for 7:15. I'm not in favor of that and I don't think Cooper is either.
Our temperature is at 51 right now and that's cold for here! I've broken out my winter coat and I dug up my winter sunshade hat that Christy gave me last year! The last of the laundry is in. It seems to have taken forever because of washing the stuff I took up when the cleaning ladies were here. I still have to stick the goodies back on the fridge and that's one of my "dos" for today!
I wish you all a good day, better than yesterday! Make it your own in every way! And PLEASE...share it with us! We miss you when you hide!
Quote from: Amy on October 14, 2024, 06:59:20 AMRick, hope you slept well....whispering so I don't wake you up.
A good night indeed. It's dark this morning and I didn't wake up till a bit after 7:30. Must adjust for the winter darkness. I think my keyboard needs some food - new batteries. It seems to be skipping and adding double letters.
Good morning, nothing to report here. The glaze of snow quickly evaporated under Saturday's rain, but we're promised another coat overnight. My meet and greets and feeding Farrah are done as well as sitting down with my first cup of coffee. Nothing new to report, except my sniffles have grown potentially, and I now carry Kleenex everywhere.
Amy, I'm glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving with Kyle. I've nothing planned for our holiday next month, none of the group seems energetic this year, all this rain has dampened any enthusiasm. By this time, we're wishing it would turn into snow.
Three of the guys have discovered online poker, playing a game together. I should mention they're playing with fake money, it's not real, so no one's getting any payouts, nor in hock.
The women are on social media or other ways to connect with their children or other family. I tried Facebook twice at different times and Instagram once, but never really got into it. The only online program I stay with is YouTube, watching old television comedy or game shows from the fifties.
It's remarkable what you can find, I've watched the 2024 Oscars, parts of the last Olympics, many older series such as Carol Burnett, and Cher, old talk shows and real estate around the world, including castles in France and Ireland and farms in England and Portugal as well as the US and Canada. I recommend it, with ad blockers, it's better than regular television.
I'm ready to hit the haystack tonight! I've worn myself out today. Did some laundry, took Cooper for 2 walks, made some food on top of the stove, and went to the Amish grocery store with Cathy. I haven't gone on a grocery shopping trip for a long time but today was the day. I love the Amish store. The prices are right and they have just about everything. I'm all restocked!
When I got home I hard boiled some eggs and packed a few up for Frankie and made some pickled ones for me! And after Cooper left, I loafed!
Now I'm ready to drop everything for today and get ready to meet the morning! I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow! Have a great night's sleep and a great day tomorrow!
Goodnight all.
Happy to have found my way back.
I just wished you and Happy Thanksgiving AMY. THAT prompted me to go in search of this folder....
Sleep well EVERYFRIEND‼️
Good Morning to one and all! DENVER, welcome back! It's good to see you! Come back again! We miss you when you're gone!
I've been up and attem...met Cooper at 5:45, fed him his breakfast and now we're waiting for daylight for our first walk. It's cold here and supposed to stay that way most of the day. It started out in the mid 30s and is only supposed to reach the low 50s in the middle of the day!
Cathy is picking me up later so we can go drop off our election ballots. I don't drive to go vote and she's going to be in Texas welcoming her new grandson into the world! I wish I could go with her!
Now much planned for today but that doesn't mean stuff won't holler to be done! I wonder what it will be! I wish you all a great day! Make it your own in every way! But don't forget to stop by! We need the company!
Good morning
Starting out at 36° with rain this afternoon. Laundry to fold up and put away ,meals are taken care of with leftovers. I need to vacuum seal and freeze some ham. Dispite getting the smallest smoked ham that could be found it is a monster size for just two. I see baked beans, ham and pea soup in the future.
Jane, our Mennonite store will soon be closing as it is outside under tents.
Jenny, thank you for the wishes.
Patricia,we had a quiet TG, just the two of us this year. We even got to take a catnap!
Rick, I saw one lonely robin picking at the Montain Ash berries, not many berries left for him so I hope he finds more.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
I was just thinking of you yesterday, Denver. It is nice to see you back posting.
Just now, the sun is peeking through some high cloudiness. The temp is 40o.
We're starting the day off at a tad below 40°. The lowest it has been for this season. But still no frost.
I think all the wild life that will be going south for the winter have already left. The usual sparrows, doves, and squirrels remain. I think there's still a skunk visiting, cause I see those conical holes poked in my lawn - hunting for grubs.
So nice to hear from you, Jenny. I tried to thank you for my birthday greetings on You Tube but not sure that I did it right so will say thanks here. So nice to be remembered on special days.
Hello to all here and make it a good day.
Good morning, 30 degrees, we had the snow returned, just a heavier glaze than the one, Saturday's rain washed away. It still hasn't covered completely, with rain still happening, so the big mountain storms forecasted never happened. Our lows this week will be in the teens.
I still have my cold, it's moved into my sinuses and I haven't done or felt like doing anything. It seems to be a common ailment right now, among my meet and greets as well as spreading through this building, so no one is really doing anything. My immunizations, glasses appointment and anything else have all been postponed.
Phyllis, I'm sorry to have missed your birthday, and I hope it was a happy one for you.
Jenny, nice to see you posting in our Soda Shop again, you sound good, and I hope your shoulders are doing well too.
MG, how are Shan and Oscar doing? Farrah has gotten more affectionate and while still not a lap cat, she does, other than her long afternoon nap, follow me everywhere. She's gotten used to sleeping each night between the pillow and wall, often heading there when I'm brushing my teeth.
Amy, A catnap sounds good. I'm still not sleeping well at night, but forcing myself to still get up at a regular time, so I don't end up with my days and nights switched, It sounds like you had a very nice Thanksgiving, nap and all.
...Arctic Front Ushering in Coldest Temps of the Season Late this Week and Weekend...
An arctic front will move across the Interior Wednesday, which will usher in blustery westerly winds and snow showers, with wind gusts across the higher terrain into the 35 mph range. High pressure will then settle over the region Friday morning through Sunday, which will result in low temperatures falling across the Interior to well below seasonal normals. This will represent the coldest temps of the season thus far, with lower elevation valley locations dropping into the single digits, with a 20 percent chance of below zero temps across the typical very cold valley locations by Saturday morning. Residents are advised to make proper cold weather preparations in advance.
For those curious, the climate normals this time of year are rapidly tumbling down. The daily average low for Fairbanks, for instance, drops from 20 degrees October 15th (Tuesday) down to 16 degrees on October 20th. By the end of the month, the average low will be 6 degrees. So far, the lowest temperature at Fairbanks International has been 22 degrees.
Well, I'm getting ready to head for the haystack pretty soon. No Cooper tomorrow so my morning will be slower than usual. I'll have to take my walk all alone without Cooper telling me which way to go and which trees to circle and who to stop and chat with!
I have some plans for tomorrow but they could change. They usually do when I spend the day alone! I wish all a good night's rest and a happy tomorrow! Make the day your own in every way but don't forget to share it with us. It's lonely without our friends around!
Good morning.
We are off and running to the city ,Dr appointment then meeting friends.
Temp is 34° with the threat of rain.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Oscar and Shan are doing well at the moment. Thanks for asking, Patricia. Oscar's cortisone shot, et.al. seem to have shrunk his nasal stuffiness and he is a bit more lively. Unfortunately, he has lost another pound and a quarter since the last check, six months back. He is eating, but is back to his picky ways as far as the wet food is concerned. It is a big waste. Too bad Shan can't have most of it. He is close to 20 lbs. I can barely pick him up. Fortunately, I don't have to do that often. He doesn't like being pick-up and held. What he does like is being brushed, being the center of attention, and eating. That darn fluffball turned into a mighty big cat. I am almost tempted to have a DNA done on him. His mom was a short-hair ginger, but he and his siblings all popped out blond with long hair.
Other than meeting Sue for lunch tomorrow, there isn't anything scheduled for the rest of the week.
Still no word from Jackie?
:) Good Morning Everyfriend! I'm off today! I even got up later! No Cooper so I didn't set the alarm and I got up around 7 a.m. That's unusual lately even when I don't have company for the day.
MG, I'm glad to hear your "house friends" are doing better at this time. They can be a big comfort to us or a real problem. It's good to see them feeling better.
I'm going to finish my breakfast, maybe have a second cup of coffee, check out some stuff on the computer, get dressed, make the bed and then decide how the day goes from there. I wish you all a good one! Do what pleases you best or what's most necessary!
AMY, good luck on your trip! I sure hope all's well!
Good morning everyone, I hope your day is going well.
MG, Farrah is a picky eater like Oscar. What I do is keep bowls of dry food and fresh water, out, although her taste in dry is also susceptible to change. She also gets approximately two tablespoons of wet food two or three times daily. Her taste in wet food is also subject to change. Currently, it is fish only. Before that, it was chicken only.
She has no belief in my comprehension, letting me know she's hungry by going from me to her food dish repeatedly until my slow human brain catches on.
Edit: I decided to weigh her, and she is a very solid twelve pounds. She was twelve in September and while the gray remains, her brown coloring has turned white, and she no longer makes the high jumps.
Thought I would drop in, before I completely forget. Sue got a call this afternoon with a message to remind her of an appointment which included a time and date, but did not say who it was from and, it only gave the option to cancel, not confirm. She did have an upcoming appointment, but she was mighty suspicious of this message. Sure enough, when she looked up the phone number recorded on her phone, it was spam. So, be extra careful if you get any such message that you do not respond.
MarsGal - Thanks for that "caution". There's always someone trying to scam someone.
I had a very nice day today! I only did what I felt like doing but I got a lot of good things done that have been waiting for attention.
Now I'm just about ready to head for the haystack because Cooper will be arriving around 5:45 tomorrow morning and I have to be up and have my breakfast before he gets here. It was a nice, sunshiny day but cold. The temp never got above 53 degrees.
I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow. Make the day your own in every way. And PLEASE, share with us how you did that! We like to be with you when we can! GOOD NIGHT!!
Goodnight anyone.
Good morning
Tad chilly here with a temp of 26° and a beautiful ful moon out!
Busy day ahead..
Jane, yes al went well..just glad to be home.
Enjoy your day and stay safe
Good Morning Everyfriend! I wish you all a good day!
Cooper is here and he had his breakfast. We're waiting for daylight to take a walk. And it's winter coat weather here. The temp was down to 34 where I am and they were warning us to watch out for lower temps. No frost that I can see. I guess Rick still has his weeds that need the frost to leave!
It's still dark and I don't like the dark mornings! I don't like the bright sun mornings in the summer either. I guess it's true. I'm a fan of Spring and Farll!
I hope you all have a good day! Make it your own in every way! And tell us how you did that. We might want to copy you!
Quote from: JaneS on October 17, 2024, 06:55:29 AMI guess Rick still has his weeds that need the frost to leave!
We made it to just below 40 last night. --- Yup, the weeds are still doing their thing - and I have the sore nose to prove it.
A couple of more weeks and it will be getting light out an hour earlier. I'm sure Cooper will approve.
HELL0....thank you all for the nice welcome back.
We have been doggie sitting the last few days. It is always enjoyable to have them here as they are good dogs, but then I am not the one that has to go out and walk them😘😘
Funny story. This morning I was the first one up. Our kitty boy gets a soft food breakfast every day and he makes sure that you are well aware that he is very anxious to get this FIRST before anything else. The doggies went home last night, but their dry food dish was sitting right by the kitties bowl. I accidentally put his little plastic container of his breakfast in the identical dog dish used for their kibble. He smelled it and walked away. He never would not eat his food. I ended up putting it in his bowl and he gobbled it down like crazy. Moral of the story....I guess he does not like the smell of kibble‼️‼️
Good to hear your boy Oscar is doing better after the shot he received, MG. I hope he continues to do well.
PATRICIA, after we returned from our Alaska Cruise we left a week or so later headed to Boston for a family visit. When we returned my Smokey would not get two feet away from me. He has turned into a very loving lap boy. I did not realize Farrah is not a lap cat. I know she has warmed up a lot though.
My shoulders continue to be a painful issue for me but I am doing my best to do what I can with them and be thankful for what I can do😘. I unfortunately have a lot of lower back and bursa pain on both sides of my legs and am definitely in need of getting more injections to help with it. Problem being the injections cause my blood sugar issues to sky rocket. What to do? It is obvious that I need to do all I can while I can‼️ These GOLDEN YEARS are definitely the rusting ones for me😩😩
We have decided to spend the winter in AZ to be near our #3 sons family. We have been lucky to spend very precious time with our older grands and now feel the need to be hands on with the last two littles. They are 2 and 5 and we miss them so after their relocation a few months ago. We have leased a very nice condo right on the golf course where our son is the head golf pro. The family lives less than 5 minutes away. We are looking forward to it. Getting everything tied up here is our issue right now. Trying to get medical taken care of‼️
I must say goodnight.
Once I get started I tend to over stay my welcome😆😆
Pleasant dreams to all🍁
Hello Everyfriend!
NUMBER 1...JENNY, you NEVER overstay your welcome! We're always delighted when you show up! It sounds like you will have a nice winter near the kiddies. I've been spending about 5 weeks a year in Oklahoma so I can be close to my 3 great-grands. I really want to know them! And when my daughter or granddaughter face time me, they all talk to me! I love it! I wish you a great time with your family!
Beginning this Friday, I'll have Cooper all day and all night for a week. Frankie is going on vacation with her mother and her aunt and will have some time with her brother. And I'll have the doggie!
I'm going to hit the haystack early tonight because I never managed a nap today. And I have to be up and attem at 5 a.m. again tomorrow. I sure wish Frankie would go back to her 7 a.m. starts and toss out the 6 a.m. ones.
I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow! Have a great day and do whatever suits your fancy! Good night for now!
Quote from: JaneS on October 17, 2024, 07:37:46 PMBeginning this Friday, I'll have Cooper all day and all night for a week.
Gonna be a fun week :)
Good morning..
Another chilly morning starting at 24° but it is going to be a nice sunny day.
Got most of the baking done all but the buns yesterday. So today will be the Lithuanian Bacon buns to have ready for luch.
Jane, nice you will have a full week on not getting up at 5 am and have a cuddle partner!!
Better get busy.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Yep, theat's the best part of having Cooper for a whole week... I don't have to get up until we are both ready! And then breakfast and our first walk can be right in line!
Today, he's here and we're waiting for some daylight! He seems to know that we have to wait and he watches the windows almost as much as I do.
Not much on the agenda for today. I have a casserole planned for supper. Guess I better get the meat out of the freezer or it won't be ready when I am. I hope you all have a great day. Be sure to let us know what's up! We need the news!
Well, that's that for today! Good Night Everyfriend!
Where is Everyone? Have I lost all my friends?
Good morning..
Miss Jane, you were to sleep in today! You're up before the roosters crow!
It has been a busy week but I think things are slowing down...I hope. Yesterday was fun with a visit with the kids. Sent most of the buns back home with them along with the raisin pie.
Today is pick up a few things in town then use the leafblower and if time (and energy) use the pressure washer on the walkways. Laundry may get squeezed in somewhere.
Talke with my friend and she is home from the hospital, she said this new pneumonia is horrible and lasts for 5-6 weeks!
Larry Curly and Moe crow have moved on. :( We saw a huge flock of crows in a corn field when we went to the city.
Better get the day started..
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
I fell asleep in front of the TV last night. Then just moved to bed. Saturday morning is always a late starting day for me.
AMY, my week with Cooper doesn't start until NEXT Friday! He'll be here days every day except Tuesday this week then he won't go anywhere Friday until she comes home the next weekend.
I did a lot of cooking today. I made a batch of "Jim's Egg Thingys" and cooked some hard boiled egges for Frankie and a coupe for me and made some eg salad for sandwiches out of it. I took a shower and got cleaned up and I made plans for lunch on Wednesday with my Pennsylvania work friends. And I put some stuff away that's been waiting around for a week or more. And now I'm going to loaf!
I hope you are all having a great day! Do whatever you want to do!
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYFRIEND! SLEEP WELL AND WAKE REFRESHED!
Good morning..
Starting off at 31° and heading to the mid 60's. Yesterday was a busy one. Tried out the new pressure washer and was happy with the jbo it did. Then onto the leafblower to bunch up the pine needles ,just need to pick them up.
Today is a day of welcomed rest! May finish off a quilt .
Jane, that is a week to look forward to.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning AMY and anyone else who stops by! I'm waiting for some daylight so I can take Cooper for his morning walk and then when we get back I'll be hopping into the shower to start getting ready to head for church. Cathy will be picking me up and dropping me off a bit before 10.
Later today, Cooper and I will have another walk and I'll try to think of something to do that will be beneficial to my house keeping.
I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow! Make the day your own in every way! And be sure to tell us how you did that. We might want to try it out!
Hi, everyone.
I don't think I mentioned where we went for my B'day meal. We went to T. J. Rockwell's, off of Rt. 15 South, near Williams Grove Park. The amusement park, which opened in 1850, no longer exists. What still remains is the rather large trailer park and the Williams Grove Speedway. The speedway still holds a top spot in the world of Sprint Car racing. And, I still remember rooting for Bobby Allen, a big favorite locally. Just four years older than me, he still involved in Sprint Car racing, though now an owner rather than a driver. His son and grandson do the racing these days.
After lunch, we walked across the parking lot to Ashcombe's Farm and Greenhouse where I bought some narcissus and a bag of bonemeal. Today or tomorrow, I hope to get the bulbs planted. Ashcombe's, before the garden center, is where we went to pick strawberries in the summer. I don't know if many orchards and farms around here offer "pick-your-own" programs anymore. Happily, I noted that there is still a lot of farmland between Rt.15 and Mechanicsburg that has not yet been taken over to grow houses and warehouses.
Good morning. Here it is, Sunday already. These weeks just fly by‼️‼️
Today is our second born grandson's 18th Birthday. My goodness😘
Dr. Dave returned early this morning after spending parents weekend in Utah with our oldest grandson in college there. I am anxious to hear all about it‼️
JANE, when we have grand doggies here they just adjust to our schedule and it is great. Sleep in or get up when ever....so much easier than having to get ready for their arrival😘 I know you two always enjoy your time together💗 I appreciated reading about your going to OK to be near your grands also. These are very precious times. We could be taking a very expensive cruise for the $$ we are paying to do this rental< but family time is the BEST‼️
AMY, did your friend have the pneumonia shots before her getting this terrible bout of pneumonia? Bob and I have had every shot recommended....good or bad, who knows🤷. Bless your friend's heart; she must be so thankful to be home. Happy to read you had family time yesterday.
RICK, I often fall asleep in front of the TV😆😆 Last night I could hardly keep my eyes open but ended up watching the rest of darn football game anyway. Guess I got my second wind‼️
MG, I enjoyed looking up the places you mentioned about where you celebrated your birthday. When we were in Boston earlier this month we did go pick apples off the trees and it was a fun expierence🍁. There are places here in Colorado over on the Western slope, around Grand Junction where you can go pick peaches and pears off the trees😘. There are farms here that you go out in the field and pick your own pumpkin. Of course they have been cut off the vine and you just select the one you want. Little kids are pretty impressed with doing this vs buying one at the store‼️‼️
Enjoy your Sunday EVERYFRIEND ❣️
Well, this was a busy day! I got a lot done and I'm tired and ready to hit the haystack. I have a special tomorrow. Frankie doesnt go to work until seven so I don't have to be ready to meet Cooper until 6:45. I won't know what to do in the morninhg.
O wish you all a peaceful sleep and a pleasant day tomorrow.
One of my keys is stuck to another one and when I want a hg I hget tw0 letters. Sorry about that!
Goodnight to anyone who might still be up.
Good morning..
Another lovely day in the making ,startingoff at 47° and heading to the 70's. I took advantage of the nice weather yesterday to bag up all the pine needles and put them on the walkway and under the trugs to keep the weeds at bay. I pulled the carrots out and hope I don't get the same kind for next year, most were over a foot long and difficult to pull. The wind tickled the laundry dry in no time.
Today , clean up the carrots, and mow the back yard.....hope for the last time!
Jenny, I don;t know if she did have her shot but will ask next time I am talking with her. We have had ours plus shingle shot and all the covid ones, just waiting on the flu shot to come in.
Rick ,I was long gone by that time. Had trouble watching tv through my eye lids and called it an earlly night.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Rick, I don't mind.... :2funny:
Three missing lately. If anyone knows how to contact them, please do. Patricia, Vanilla-Jackie, MaryPage.
Long day! While chatting with the neighbour 5 trumpeter swans flew over! So nice to see and hear them!
Jane is also M I A, will phone her if she isn't here in the morning.
Quote from: Amy on October 21, 2024, 08:06:13 PMJane is also M I A, will phone her if she isn't here in the morning.
She was having trouble with her keyboard yesterday morning when she posted.
Yes, I think that may be the reason for her absence.
Will still call if she doesn't show in the morning.
Now's the time to say goodnight ...........................
Sorry I didn't get back today. I got busy in the kitchen and I just plain didn't get back. Cathy stopped by and I told her I had two keys stuck together and she fixed it. You'll never guess what she did to fix it! There a was a little scrap of some kind of food down there and it was sticking the two keeps together. I just plain couldn't see it! But her eyes are still good! Thank goodness for that!
Now I'm heading for the haystack! I'm tired right down to my toenails but I don't have to get up to meet Cooper. His mom has the day off and they're spending it together! I might be making a trip to Wal-Mart with Cathy tomorrow. I have a list and so does she!
Sleep well everyone and wake refreshed. See you in the morning!
Good morning...
Another amazing day for this time of year, heading into the low 70's.
Domestic duties will be on the agenda this morning then maybe sew??
I tried a new recipe for super and will post it.Made a lot for us,I put it in one casserole dish plus a 4x6 tin foil container. That one I took to the neighbour to try. We both (houses) enjoyed it. Next time it will be put into the tin foil containers and frozen .
Patricia is having computer problems .
Jane, so good to see you in here! Happy to read everything is alright there.
Enjoy your day and stay safe..
Good Morning Everyfriend! and a special Good Morning to the one who beat me here. Hi AMY!
I got up at my leisure, had my breakfast in my jammies and then made the bed, got dressed, and went for my morning walk (without Cooper). Frankie did say she might be over sometime this afternoon to give him a bath so he's all clean for me when she leaves on vacation on Friday!
Cathy and I are doing a WM shopping trip later. She has an appointment at 9:30 and she's coming over after that. Don't know how long it will take us! In the meantime, I have to pack up all the taters I cooked yesterday in dinner size packs and freeze them. Also make a casserole for supper and cook some hamburger to add to Cooper's dinners! Sounds like it's going to be a busy day. I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow. Be sure to stop by and let us know how you did that! We're the nosy type!
Been a busy day here, some did get done others didn't.
Beautiful weather and I am sure we will pay dearly for it.
Rick ,any frost your way?
Quote from: Amy on October 22, 2024, 06:36:35 PMRick ,any frost your way?
Not yet. Made it down to 39° one night. Feels like it is warming up again here.
Hi there friends! I had an interesting phone call tonight. My phone rang but only twice but it told me it was LLoyd Hammond calling. So I called back. It was just an accident on his part but we had a nice chat. I talked to him for a bit and then Nancy came on. She said he got a new computer and he can't figure out how to get on S&F to vist with us. He also said to tell you all he says "HI" and he also misses you. I don't know how to tell him to get on but I told Nancy to see if their daughter could help him find his way in.
Now I'm ready for bed because Cooper will be an early arrival again tomorrow. I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow. Spend it any way you like. It's yours!
Jane, - If you have his (Lloyd's) email address you can send him a link to Seniors & Friends.
https://www.seniorsandfriends.org (https://www.seniorsandfriends.org/)
His GD will likely know what to do with it (I hope),
Good morning...
Going to be rain this afternoon. We are off to the city for two appointments...day is going to be long!!
One wonders how to dress wih this weather.you're either too hot or too cold! Neighbours are lookig after Jesse.
Sent Lloyd the url to get here...
Passing Rick running shoes for his nose, that likes to run till frost time..
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Thanks RICK for the way to get Lloyd back in. I'll see what I can do about getting it to him. I think I might have his granddaughter's email address somewhere. She has emailed to thank me for helping him and to ask some questions but it's been a while.
AMT, have a good trip to town and good news from the appointments!
Cooper and I have had our walk and its COLD out there. He took a long one...did both circles! I guess he was ready to stretch his legs!
Cathy and I are going to make a trip to the Farmers Market later today. I need some broccoli and cauliflower and then I'm ready for winter. My freezer said, "No more stuff" when I checked it out. It's ready for me to start using whats in there and stop putting new stuff in. But the veggies will go with some dinners that are already in there and have a space left!
Now I better get busy. Have a good day Everyfriend! And tell us how you did that. Remember, we're nosy!
We came back blurry eyed . :) Both needing new glasses and Kyle is getting new hearingh aids. We had a van load with our items and the neighbours.
Now to put it all away after my cuppa tea..
Whoops! I see AMY already sent LLOYD the info on how to get in to visit with us. So I won't confuse him! I hope he finds us!
We didn't go to the Farmers Market today. Just plain didn't have time and now I'm ready to burrow into the haystack and close my eyes. I was going to take a nap but I took a walk insteac. Now I'm redy to sleep. So
Good Night Everyfriend! I wish you all a peaceful nights sleep and a happy tomorrow. See you then!
Good morning..
The weather is a little cooler and may touch the 50's. A day of playing catch up and laundry.
Jane, I think a nap may be in order sometime today , heading to the city is so tiring.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning AMY and anyone else who shows up today. I'm waiting for the sun to come up so Cooper can take me for a walk! He's had his breakfast and he is waiting patiently. I think he's figured out that we don't go until light shows in the windows. I suspect he'll be in to tell me when it's time.
I don't have any real plans for today but I'm sure something will come up. I do have some broccoli in the fridge that needs to be cooked and can be added to the dinners in the freezer. I think that might be number 2 on the agenda after the walk.
I hope you all have a good day! Do whatever suits your fancy! It's your choice! Make it a good one for YOU!
Forgot to say...The temp right now is 48 heading for a high of 64. Back to a bit on the chilly side!
Jane, temp was 31 whe Jesse and I were out earlier, could see your breath!
Checking in a little late. Since no one is around I guess I will settle down to do a little TV watching and reading, then it will be off to
Football night.
Good morning..
Starting off at 23° and heading to the mid 40's today.
Another day of playing catch up and may get some baking done.
Not much else is going on...
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
good Morning! Cooper is here and he had his breakfast. Now he's waiting for daylight and his first walk of the day. I already have a load of laundry in the washer. I told Frankie that I would be doing laundry today and if she has anything she's going to need to take on her trip or right away when she comes home, I'd be happy to do it for her. Her first load is in the washer.
I've lost an ear! That's what I get for taking the aids out when they beep for batteries and just laying them down somewhere! When Cathy drops by today, I'm going to put her on a search. If she doesn't find it, I'll be calling the ear dr. to see how much it will cast to replace it! Doggone it! I'm just not very careful!
We started the day at 33 degrees so we're running 10 behind you, AMY! Our high is supposed to make it to 63 around 4 p.m. and then start back down for the night! I do think we are on the way to cold.
I just heard the washer stop. I guess I better go put that load in the dryer and another one in the washer, Gave a great day, everyone! Do whatever suits your fancy....or whatever is yelling for attention!
Jane - Go back to where you were when the ear fell off. Look around that place.
I FOUND IT! IT JUST JUMPED OUT AT ME1 IT WAS SOMEWHERE MIXED UP IN THE BEDDING!
I'm ready to hit the hay! It's been a busy day! I got everything done and I sat down to watch some TV and I couldn't keep my eyes open. Cooper has had his yard walk and I'm in my jammies and I have a couple things to finish up and I'm off to the haystack!
I wish you all a peaceful nights sleep and a happy day tomorrow. Make the day your own in every way! Amd tell us how you did that. Maybe we can do that too, some time!
Good morning.
We had rain during the night with more later today. Starting temp is 38 ° heading to 47°.
Work around home today .
Jane happy to se you found your lost hearing aid!! Since you have Cooper you can sleep in! Maybe???
Better get the day on the go.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
The sun arose a few minutes ago; it is 51o. I've got a fairly ambitious day ahead. The major events are laundry, dishes, and this afternoon, planting narcissus.
Yesterday afternoon I went to my new eye doctor for my yearly eye exam and to order new eyeglasses. That took two and a half hours. You can guess where most of that time was spent. The waiting room.
Have a super Saturday everyone.
Good Morning Everyfriend! the temp here right now is 50 degrees heading for a high of 61! not too bad! The low was only 44.
Cooper and I have had breakfast and a stroll in the yard and a real walk around the block. We're back and I've cleaned up the kitchen, he finished his leftovers from breakfast and now he's napping and I'm visiting. AMY, Cooper slept well and didn't try to get up until he knew I was up and attem!
I have a bit of cleaning to do later and I'm wondering if any of the neighbor kids will show up at the door. We don't have a lot of kids but there are at least 6 or 7 that I talk to on a regular basis.
I guess I better get to work! Have a good day Everyfriend! Do as you darn well please!
Well, I said "Good Morning" and now I'm saying...
Good Night, Everyfriend!
Goodnight. I've been in and out several times today.
Good morning..
:cup:
The sun is shining ----- Oh happy day.
The sun is shining here, too but we had frost overnight!
Sun was shining here but now we have liquid sunshine.
Rick, have you had frost yet?
Quote from: Amy on October 27, 2024, 03:56:32 PMRick, have you had frost yet?
Not yet. We've made it down to around 38° once, but no frost yet. Sniff, sniff.
We have had frost for a few weeks now. Hope it soon comes to you.
Good morning.
Well,we knew it wa coming and now it is here...SNOW! Not a lot just a light dusting of it that will soon be gone once the sun gets out of bed.
Cancelled our flu shot for today ,tomorrow may be a better day.
Not sure what will get done but will make a go at getting something done.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
Well, we had a low of 28 degrees overnight and it's all the way up to 30 now! Do you think winter is on the way! Cooper and I just got back from our morning walk and it's COLD out there!
I have to make a quick trip to DAVY'S store sometime today or tomorrow. Just need a couple things and Cathy said she needs to go too and will pick me up.
Have a good day, Everyfriend! Make it better than yesterday! Do whatever suits you best!
I don't know where Everyfriend is but I'm back to say good night to me and anyone else who reads it!
GOOD NIGHT, ME AND ANYONE ELSE!
We're all sitting here with our lips sealed. FWIW - I'm not a good writer - As Jack Webb would say, "Just the facts Mam". Anyway, goodnight.
Jane and Rick, sleep well...I am going soon also. Been a long day.
Good morning..
Starting out at 26° with rain later on today. Managed to get 4 doz buttertarts made yesterday and will take some for the staff and will drop some off at the garage for the folks there.
Need to corral dust kangaroos before we go and do a bit of laundry. You know all those fun jobs that don't seem to stay done!
Better get at it,enjoy your day and stay safe.
Good Morning Everyfriend! And also Good Night, Everyfriend! I've been up to my ears busy since Cooper is here! He's already in bed for the night tonight. Tomorrow will be a busy day. I have some special company coming by in the afternoon. Our new priest at church is taking time to visit all the parish members and tomorrow afternoon is my turn. It's been a long time since we had anyone who did that but it used to be something they all did. I'm old fashioned and looking forward to this visit.
I don't know if I'll make it in to say Good Morning but I'll try! Sleep peacefully tonight and wake refreshed. Tomorrow is yours. Do what suits you best! Good Night my friends!
Good morning..
Looks foggy outside and it is a lot wamrer wih the temp at 52°.
Need to pick some tarps at the lumber yard to cover some of the trugs. Trying something new this year, with these covers being black it may warm up the soil faster come Spring???
Phyllis, how are you and David?
Bubble, you're in my thoughts and prayers.
Jenny, are you still dog sitting?
Jane ,enjoy your special company today.
Rick, we lost gimpy the goose , thinking maybe a fox got him :( Wish we could have caught him and taken him to a wildlife sanctuary. Still feeding the chippies there?
Better get going ,day goes faster than I do at times.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.
I'm all ready for my visitor today and I don't plan to do anything but read the paper, eat lunch and take care of Cooper. I'll be a lot less nervous when this visit is over. I will enjoy it when it comes but getting ready (I wonder if my house is neat enough) is a chore.
I hope you all have a wonderful day. and I'm asking the same questions about Everyfriend that AMY did. Where are you all hiding!
Quote from: Amy on October 30, 2024, 07:01:36 AMStill feeding the chippies there?
Haven't seen a chipmunk for a couple of weeks, but there signs that they are around. - Holes here and there. Most of the summer wildlife seems to have disappeared. Sparrows, doves, and some blue jays still here, and they'll probably hang around all winter. I don't know how they do it. Also some squirrels..
Rick, we have Jays, doves chickadees and wrens. Jays are rather quiet and not their noisy selves for some reason?? The odd time we may see/hear a raven go over but often than not it is the geese we hear and see. I miss the crows :(
Hello my friends. We still have some birdies around here but I never see them. I think it might be because Cooper is here permanently this week. I know they're there because the seed in the bird feeder is being eaten.
Our weather made it into the low 70s today! It must be time for winter to show it's face and the weather is giving us a break before it does.
My visit went well today and I think I was ready for it. I really like our new minister! He's on the ball!
I'm off to the haystack pretty soon. I have one more eye drop to get in my eyes. Then I'm I'm off! I wish you all a peaceful nights sleep and a happy tomorrow. Make the day your own in every way!
good evening everyone. it is 10 until eight pm in the evening, it is raining here now. I went to VA and got my eyes tested. one eye is still about the same but the other is needing change. well my granddaughter came over and got this Laptop fixed where i can get on line and visit with you all again. I read all the posts but my memory is too short to remember what I read and post. so I will just say good to be able to be able to post again. good night and see you all again in the morning.good night and sweet dreams.
Lloyd
Lloyd good to see you! Hope you and Nancy are keeping well.
Good morning..
Starting out at 59° at the moment and heading to 68° by late this afternoon. Work around home after pick a few things up at the grocery store.
Managed to get all but two trugs covered and will go bak for two more tarps to finish off the job.
Guess the day won't get started with me jst sitting here..better get at it.
Enjoy your day and stay safe..
Good Morning Everyfriend! And welcome back LLOYD! It was a pleasure to see your post this morning.
Cooper and I have almost finished our week together! I'll still have him days while Frankie works but my bedfellow will be gone!
Our temp right now is 51 degrees and heading for a high of 78! Winter is on the way! It's giving us a break and then it's going to hit us. I think this high is for the kids who will be out halloweening tonight!
I better get busy or nothing will get done around here! I wish you all a great day. It's yours! Grab it and go!
I got a lot done today and I'm waiting to see if I have any halloweeners tonight. They have to come between 5 and 7 p.m. but there aren't a lot of kids around this area. Have a good night and I hope you all had a great day!
We are having a gentle rain, putting a damper on the trick or treaters. We don't get trick or treaters here, they usually head into town where there are more houses.
I am being held down by a 105 lb. dog in my recliner . One doesn't need a blanket to keep warm.
Saw a robin checking out the Mountain Ash but there are very few berries on it for him to
eat.
Enjoy your evening.
