The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him... a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create -- so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating.

Colors- Farben

[Verse 1]
You words paint pictures in the sky
And I stand there with a second pair of eyes
Your gazes go deeper than the lake
I want to plunge into them

[Pre-Chorus]
But the way you speak of the horizon of the beautiful
t would be better if you went

[Chorus]
With you, I can be simple, no dream too big
No step too small
And the colors come back
Oh, the colors slowly come back

[Verse 2]
I fall next to you
Do you feel how I lose my footing
So just where does it come from?

[Pre-Chorus]
Because they way you float on, ever further towards the foreign place
It would be better if you went

[Chorus]
With you, I can be simple, no dream too big
No step too small
And the colors come back
Oh, the colors slowly come back
Oh, oh, oh

[Bridge]
Because with you, everything becomes valuable
Because with you, my heart grows full (Oh)
Because with you, everything becomes valuable (Oh)
Because with you, my heart grows full

[Chorus]
With you, I can be simple, no dream too big
No step too small
And the colors come back
Oh, the colors slowly come back

[Outro]
So what if you stayed?
And somehow, we'll find the time
And the colors will come back
Look! The colors are all coming back

Grief never ends...
But it changes.  It's a passage, not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith...
It is the price of love.

Good morning..

Fantastic way to start the morning, thank you Bubble!!

When one has the opportunity to sleep in the body has a mind of its own and wants  out of bed!

A day of rest here...may hibernate in the sewing room .

Listening to crows in the distance and the housed roosters voice their opinion. Soon they will have no voice .:(

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning..

Temp is not going above 63° today!  Good day to do outside work and get it caught up......if  ever.

Started another quilt and I am anxious on how it will turn out..it has mature white dandelions, ones that a child (or adult) will blow in the wind of a pale blue fabric. The secret of this fabric is that it glows in the dark!

There are a lot of should do's today but we shall see what does or doesn't get done.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I didn't get a chance to check out last night because the computer was doing a scan so being very tired, I just decided to go to bed.

Yesterday, we went to my son's house and had a picnic in his yard with him and his family! It was nice and he and Christy had a chance to catch up.  They are my twins!  And they both said that they don't get together enough.    We also got some first-hand information from my granddaughter about her senior year in high school and what colleges shes thinking about.  They did major visits this summer!

Now, when I finish my coffee, I'm taking a walk.  Cooper will be arriving a little before ten this morning and I think he's going to spend the night.  I think Frankie is going to spend the night to because she works later than usual and then has to be in early tomorrow.  Gonna be a busy day!

I wish you all a good day!  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to let us know how you did that!  We're a curious bunch!

Good morning, 36 degrees at 7:30, but my right leg is stiff and aching and there is frost on the roof of the building across from me. Morning domestics are finished, Farrah's fed and napping, and I'm sitting here with my first cup of coffee.

There are a number of tasks I could do today, an Amazon order due tomorrow along with a number of bills, and other tasks waiting, but I'm lacking enthusiasm. Today may be a couch potato day.

My sister is finishing up some fall tasks before leaving with friends to go crisscrossing the country, and has promised to send post cards at stops along the way. She has also planned to send some Mackinaw Fudge, which I've heard of but never tried.

She's the creative, adventurous, one in the family, having been on almost every continent, living in France and Italy, attending cooking school in Florence, taken trips to China, etc. but says this country crisscross will be her last big trip. She's the youngest, ten years younger than me, and I've envied her determination, and creativity.

Jane, enjoy your time with family, Cooper and Lennie. It sounds wonderful to be with family.

Amy, your quilt sounds intriguing with dandelion puffs and glowing fabric. I hope you'll have pictures to show along the way.

Good morning..

Off to a chilly strat this morning with a temp of 42°. Needless to say no a/c on or the windows wide open.

Not sure what today will bring, lots to do  if I get my mind set to do it. Made the windows giggle yesterday ,now they are sparkly clean. Need to use the power washer on the front deck and need to also start the generator just to make sure it is working  alright. Trees need to be trimed back but that is a job closer to the time when our dump is open. No worry on what's for lunch as we are still working our way through Phyllis's 15 bean soup..good on these chilly days.

Patricia, the secret of this fabric was a surprise to me. I just liked the soft blue with the dandelions on it,now to glow in the dark is a bonus!

Jane, enjoy your time with family. Did Cooper snuggle with you or Frankie last night?

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Christy is finishing her breakfast and then will hit the shower.  Both doggies have been taken care off.  Cooper didn't snuggle with me but he probably did with Frankie.  She chose not to spend the night here so we didn't have him either.  She made an extended stop on her way to work to say her good byes to Christy because she's leaving sometime this afternoon.  I'm going to miss her like crazy!  I sure wish she lived down the street.

I have a bunch of birthdays coming up on the 9th and 10th of this month....2 on each day and then 2 later in the month.  I celebrated with Christy while she was here and 2 cards are on the way to Oklahoma.  And one will be delivered.

I guess I better get back to work.  After Christy takes her shower we're heading for the Amish grocery store!  She wants some stuff to take home and I need some stuff.  Then she'll be on the way after lunch.

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to tell us how you did that!  We love sharing with you!

Good morning, 35 again this morning and only a few clouds. There's frost on the roofs again, and you can see the mist above the rivers, creeks and streams, So I have a feeling snow will come early this year.

Meet and greets ran long, one member fell and broke her arm yesterday and her son is flying up, he wants her to go back with him, but she doesn't want to leave.

I have some errands to do but the company I was expecting, had to cancel, so I may put it off until another day. I do have a package due today and another one on Saturday, plus a neighbor's I'm receiving then too.

My sister's leaving soon on the first leg of her trip along with two friends. I'd love to see the sites but wouldn't want the long car ride.

Amy, your quilt sounds wonderful. What type of border are you planning?

I saw Lloyd had posted on the Shoutbox on the 26th.

Jane, enjoy having family close.

I'm all by myself again!  Christy left about 2 p.m. and Frankie picked up Cooper a little after 3:30.  The house felt empty...still does!  But I got a text from Christy and she make back to maryland safely/1  I'm on my way to bed.  My eyes don't want to stay open and Cooper will be here a bit before 7 tomorrow!

I hope you all have a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow!  Make the day your own in every way and don't forget to let us know how you did that!  We're always interested.

PATRICIA, I read your post and you are lucky to have your friends to communicate with every day!  That must be neat!  And it sounds like your sister is a TRAVELER!

Good Night Everyfriend!

Good morning..

Jacket weather this morning starting out at 42°. Covered up the tender plants in the garden last night but don't think we had frost.

Another not sure day...may take a drive.

Jane, your home will seem empty for now.

Patricia, I am toying with ideas on the border and may chance the pattern somewhat....decisions decisions. I wanted a simple patern to just show off the fabric... now I am not so sure????

Rick, it was a good night, slept sound till morning.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  And a special Good Morning AMY!  I can't wait to see a picture of your newest quilt!  I bet it's beautiful!

I'm up and about and Cooper is here, had his breakfast and went for a walk and now he's making himself at home on the couch!  I have to watch hime because he likes to dig up the couch cover and stretch out on the plain couch and that's not allowed!

We had a cool start to our day, too.  Not as cool as yours, AMY but it was down in the low 50s.  I think Fall is upon us!  I'll take Fall but I'm not ready for Winter!

I cleaned out the fridge and I', using our leftover hanburger and bows to make a casserole for dinner today.  Still thinking what else to put in it.  I'm thinking some veggies and maybe mushroom soup to bring it all together.

Have a good day today.  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to tell us how you did that!

Good Morning RICK!

Down in the 60s this morning.   Feels wonderful.
David is not feeling well though he is better today.  His doctor says he doesn't have covid but has a virus that is going around.  He is wearing a mask and trying to stay away from me.  So far I feel fine.

Take  care,  All.

Good morning, 47 this sunny morning with 90% humidity, my arthritis in my leg is letting me know it's not happy with that. I got bored with staying home yesterday and went roaming. I spent a little here and too much there, and had a very nice time visiting my friend who broke her arm.

Her son had called again and said they had set up a room for her and would feel better with her close. She told him she wasn't sure why they wanted her in a tornado zone, and said she'd feel better if they moved in with her. Checkmate.

Our fall is a bit further along. We have frost on the rooftops, morning mist over the various waterways, and the leaves are showing bits of yellow and red. And the ravens have been back a couple of weeks now. I don't believe the snow is going to wait until Halloween.

I found another wide mouth jar, this one a 3.7 liter, lidded Mason brand canister. So, now I have that and a Ball brand 9 cup wide mouth jar, velvet flowers, dried pampas grass and eucalyptus ready for me to put them together. It's how to put them together that has me stymied.

Jane, my sister, has always been creative and always had itchy feet. She also owned her own businesses until the last when she worked in a hospital business office.  Earlier this year, she was making wooden fish and decorating them with shells, small stones and paint. When she was sixteen, she bought a small red Chevy Luv truck and upholstered the inside in red gingham. And I cannot figure out how to style a simple flower vase.

Phyllis, I'm sorry that David has been ill.  And glad that you feel fine. We've been in the mid-sixties for highs, but that might change mid-month.

Amy, your quilt sounds wonderful, and It must be so interesting to look at all the different ideas to use. I'm definitely interested in how you decide to go.

Remember James Darren, former teen idol and Ryan O'Neal? they both died last week.

Good morning...

Nice cool weather to stat with then heading to the high 70's.

We took off on the road trip yesterday, really enjoyed our time away. Noticed that their leaves are turning faster than ours!

Today IS work around home..

Patricia, way to go on your finds for the jars! I must say I don't blame your friend, I also think she has the better idea/

Phyllis, I have heard of others here that have had that virus and it knocks the socks off of one. Tell David to take it easy.

Jane,I  agree, fall is here. Parts of the garden are dying off, leaves are turning and birds are flocking up to head south. Swallows have already left .

Rick , is your chipmunk still coming for his treats?

Better get the day started.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I was so tired last night that I walked right past the office door and into the bedroom!  I'm up and ready to meet the day today.  Frankie has the dy off so I won't have Cooper today!  Everything changes when he doesn't come.  however, I do have some chores planned but I can change my plans any time today!  We shall see!

PATRICIA, I'm definitely NOT ready for Winter.  Please keep it up there where it belongs!

AMY, you can keep the cold on your side of the border also.  I'll take Fall and if I had my way, it could stick around until Spring!

I hope you all have a good day today and don't do what I did last night.  Please stop by and let us know what your up to.  And whatever it is, have fun doing it!

Good morning, 50 degrees and a drop from 90% to 64% humidity, which my leg had already demonstrated. The bird sanctuary has emptied, even the Sandhill Cranes have left, usually the last to leave.

I always wondered why they would practice forming those large groups and fly about all day, but only actually migrate south in the evening.

Of the thousands of birds that migrate each year, only the geese and the cranes are so noisy and their flocks so huge, numbering in thousands. I miss when I lived close and could spend hours and days wandering the public area trails.

Amy, her son, is still coming up here for a check in and another attempt at having her move back south with him. I agree, I wouldn't want to live in a tornado area either.

Today, I'm hoping to get to several small tasks that I've been putting off and next week, hoping to accomplish a few larger ones. It appears that I need a day of rest sandwiched between bursts of energy when only a few years ago, I would breeze through it all in one day.

Jane, I don't want winter either, but that cold weather kills off multiple little nasties that might migrate from the lower 48, such as fleas, cockroaches, fire ants, poison ivy and oak, snakes etc. Plus, rabies is very rarely seen this far north.

Rick, when I was younger, it was common to see more birds, squirrels, porcupines, Snowshoe hares and even Lynx in town. As we've grown, they've moved out or at least hidden in smaller numbers. We do have a citywide population of about 200 moose with a few bears around the suburbs, In the University area, are reindeer, muskox and wood bison.

Few people know that the reindeer and the caribou are the same animal. The distinction is that the reindeer are domesticated. Although each year some reindeer will run off, joining some caribou herds as they move through.

Jane, and a happy Thursday to you and everyone as well!

Good Afternoon,

I've filled the hummingbird feeder for the last time this year.  Usually, we have them migrating through until October but paper said they're migrating early this year.  Haven't seen or heard any Canada geese --- yet.

Accomplishment for today has been cleaning out files and shredding very old papers - 3 big grocery sacks full!!!!!  Fortunately, we can staple bags shut and put them in the recycle bin.  It's picked up every other week and next week is the time.

It's cool enough to have had the patio door open all morning.  Nice to have the fresh air but afternoons warm up and a/c has come on. So I will close the door and be a Recliner Radish (cousin of a Couch Potato  ;D ) to read one of the 3 e-books I have checked out.

Hope Everyfriend is Enjoying The Day.

Hey there!  I didn't have Cooper but I kept thinking I heard him!  Frankie is doggie sitting with my Son's doggie while they make a trip to New England to look more closely at some colleges that Kiran is considering!  They left today and won't be back until Sunday night!!

I got a lot of stuff done today but I don't really know exactly what!  I just kept thinking of things to do and then went and did them!  Cathy stopped over on her way to a store and I went with her but it was just a short trip.  I needed 2 things and I think she got maybe 3 or 4 things and we came back home!

Now I'm heading for the haystack!  Cooper will be here a bit before 7 tomorrow morning and I'll be up and ready!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  Make the day your own in every way.  And don't forget to tell us how you did that!  Good Night, Everyfriend!

I think I might have Cooper for the weekend.  Frankie is babysitting my son's doggie.  I'd like that!

We had a wood/coal burning cookstove in the kitchen when I was growing up - along with my Mother's "new" electric one. Don't remember ever using the oven on the wood/coal stove and rarely used the top.
I've always had an electric range and I don't want one with flames. Makes me nervous to try and use the gas range at my son's; I've never tried to use the oven.

Rammel, glad I could be of use in reminding you.  ;)

Good morning. Not as cool as yesterday with the low but cooler on the high today, cloudy skies. Nothing new on this end, meet and greets are done, everyone on this end fed and watered with my first cup of coffee to my right.

We have a truck that makes bimonthly stops, not sure it's origin, but it shreds and takes all away.

Today, I plan to buy a new Britta water filter and clean my humidity mister, it's that time of year. I wake up with a dry throat and my skin is  parched, sure signs of winter. I also need to take a couple of items to a tailor for new zippers, and that'll be my day.

Here's to everyone having a good day and a productive one.

I got a lot done today and I'm beat!  I also have a good reason for going to bed early.  Frankie has to be to work at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning so Cooper will be here arpimd 5:45!  I'll have to be up and attem early.  And I'm going to have him for the whole weekend.  Frankie is babysitting my son's doggie while they are traveling for the weekend.  It'll be a lot easier for her if he just spends the weekend with me and I'm very happy with that plan!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy day tomorrow.  Make it your own in every way!  And don't forget to share with us how you did that.  We miss you when you don't stop by!  Gotta go!  My eyes just clunked shut!  Good Night!

Patricia you're so lucky to have access to a tailor.  We can't even find persons who will hem pants here.  I have three brand new pairs of pants that need hemming, which I've had in a bag for about 3 years.  The pants still fit, but the legs haven't gotten any shorter, LOL!

Speaking of "wildlife".  My daughter lives 55 miles from me, in a City that has been growing and spreading out.  The building has caused the existing wildlife to  hide in the City, and we, and they have a problem with coyotes.  The other day, she was upset as her neighborhood had a resident "neighborhood bunny".  She went out into her front yard and found "bunny parts" scattered near the fence, which had evidence that the bunny had tried to claw or chew its way under the fence to get in her backyard.  The coyote problem here in the much bigger city, finds groups of them in the city parks where people walk, job and walk their dogs.  It is a predicament for sure. Someone even spotted a fox near where a creek runs through, with lots of greenery.

I just got home and turned on the computer to see what was going on in cyber land. MG, I had to both go online and dig through the phone book to find one in this area. We have five local military bases, so perhaps that has something to do with it?

And we have many Asians, Thai, Hmong, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, etc. both from the Vietnamese war, the University, and other reasons as well as East Indians. There are two biyearly festivals, when you roam from booth to booth and learn about all the various ethnics, cultures, and try out some very delicious foods. Many of these run small family business including dry-cleaning, groceries and tailoring.

That is sad to hear about the neighborhood bunny. I understand they also go after dogs and cats? They tried to get a foothold here but never quite made it, probably because we have numerous wolves, bears, lynx, and black foxes.

The only type we have is the snowshoe hare, and lynx hunt those so that population goes up and down with the lynx population.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  With regard to the wandering wildlife,  we've had a bear hanging around here most of the summer.  I don't go out early in the morning or late at night for tow reasons.  I don't see well in the dark and I'd rather not meet up with a bear!

Cooper arrived a bit before 6 today and he's spending the weekend.  I watching for daylight so we can take our first walk of the day.  When he takes his nap, I think I'll join him.  I was up at 5 a.m. so I'd be ready to meet him and I'm a bit sleepy already!

Good morning.. .
Jane, I don't blame you for not wanting to bump into Mr Bear!!! Neighbour had one scrounging around in his garage a few years back.

Light misty rain,so no hanging laundry out today. Will continue on  doing things that got sidelined yesterday and need to be done today.

Callie, we have a wood cookstove although I am told with the proper grates it can burn coal. Due to our maturity (old) we have turned to oil for primary heat with wood back up should the power go out.  I enjoy the wood heat plus cook off the stove.

Patricia, here we can see a varity of wild animals, as long as they behave I am fine with their company. I have met moose, wolf and deer on my walks, plus we have all the smaller animals. Can't forget the fox kits. :)

Better get this day moving..

Enjou your day and stay safe

Good morning. A rainy day today, but must not be too bad as my arthritis is barely objecting. I spent the afternoon downtown yesterday and today is package delivery, mine and a friend's that I'm watching for.

I had my Covid booster, fourth for Covid and my flu shot. I could have had the shingles shot but elected to wait four weeks via the pharmacist because he told me "I'd feel like hell tomorrow." I only have a sore arm reaction.

Jane, enjoy your weekend with Cooper. Often, I would love a nap, but I have trouble sleeping and staying asleep, so napping means I don't sleep at night.

Amy, the only deer we have in the state is "The Sitka deer or Sitka black-tailed deer is a subspecies of mule deer, similar to the Columbian black-tailed subspecies. Their name originates from Sitka, Alaska, and it is not to be confused with the similarly named Sitka deer."

We have three types of bears, wolves you don't want to meet up with and moose that are fine as long as you stay enough feet away. That being said, most animals don't want to meet up with you either.

Time to say "Good Night Everyfriend"!  Cooper is ready for his last foray into the yard and then cuddling up in bed with me.  And I'm ready to cuddle up in bed with him!  We had a good day today...three walks and he spent some time in the yard and hanging out on the porch!

I got a bunch of odd jobs done and now I'm ready to throw in the towel and rest up for another day tomorrow.  I picked a few more tomatoes and I'll soon have enough gathered that I'll have to figure out what to do with them.  I'm thinking I might make juice out of them.  Then again, maybe I'll just eat salad every day for lunch!

AMY and PATRICIA, watch out for all those animals!  Just look from a distance!

I'm going to hit the haystack!  You all have a good night's sleep and a pleasant day tomorrow.  Make it your own in every way!  And, please, tell us how you do that!  We're very intereste!  Or are we just plain nosy?  Good Night!

Good morning.

Tad chilly this drearmy moring temp is at 42°,no sign of sun but more rain.
Day of rest here. Our friend brought his wifes canning jars and supplies yesterday and I just need to put them away.

Put our first fire on just to take the dampness out of the house.

Jane, sounds like your having fun with Cooper.  Love watching the wild animals from a distance.

Better get the day on the road.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning, We're up and about and it's cold here too, AMY. It started out at 44 degrees but it's up to 49 now and heading for a hit of only 69.  I'm pretty sure Fall is upon us!

Cooper and I have had a walk and he's in on the couch.  I'm heading for the shower when I'm finished here.  I have a ride to church this moring and I always have several offers for a ride home!  I wish you all a good day.  Make it your own.  Do as you please!  The sun is shining!

Good morning from a second day of rain, and we're sharing the same low of 44 with an expected high of 54. I hadn't been sleeping, and yesterday, my left arm was still sore from the 4th Covid and Flu injections on the 5th, I believe, and my limbs with the rain have felt like iron pilings and my head like a dried stalk left out. In any case, I laid down at about six PM yesterday and woke up around 6:30 this morning.

I wish I could say I felt better, but I've taken some Acetaminophen, 500 mg, and the coffee's just finished brewing. I completely missed the morning meet and greets and will have to do my apologies later. I have to say I'm glad to have left the shingle's vaccine for next month, I feel bad enough already.

Jane, those animals are either on the outskirts or inside the Refuge. Too many cars, people and naughty children for them inside city limits. The moose are in town, alongside the waterways, protected from wolves who stay outside. The hares are inside as are the shy lynx who prefer their dens usually.

Fall is definitely here, with most of the birch in the last of leaf shedding and the tamarack and others on their way. This year's September is more like early October, and expecting a mix of snow and rain on the evening of the 26th.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  Make the day your own in every way and don't forget to stop by here and tell us how you did that.  We're curious!  Even if I don't answer everyfriend, I love reading the posts.    Good night all!

Good morning...

Yes, Jane I do think fall is upon us, we are 40° at the moment. Leaves are getting their Fall blush on and birds are flying south.

Need to take garbage to the dump today and pick up a bag of corn for the birds that stay. Home to do laundry and hope it can be hung out. All the rain we have had in the past has stopped  some outdoor work. Thankfully grass growing has slowed down but it does need cutting this week.

Patricia, way to go for getting both needles. What promted me to get the shingle shot was  the sight of a friends sister's back. Hoky teddy bear , she had a scar at least 8 inches wide over most of her lower back!! She said the pain was unbearable. WE both now have the shingle shot.

Better get thie day on a roll.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  AMY it started out at 40 degrees here early this morning and it's at 44 right now.  Not very warm but supposed to hit 70 sometime this afternoon.  The temps do jump around here in Spring and Fall and I do love those two seasons!

I have lots to do today and Frankie will be picking up Cooper a bit after 2:30 today.  I think she said something about a Vet appointment sometime this week.  He's been chewing on his body something fierce this week and she thinks he might need another shot for the itchies!

I guess I better get started getting things done.  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.  We all need something to look forward to.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Cooper arrived early this morning.  Frankie had to be at work at the hospital at 6 today instead of her usual 7.  So he's had his breakfast and he's sitting staring at me to tell me it's time for a walk.  I don't go until it gets light.  I need to see where I'm walking and what is coming in my direction!

I hope you all have a good day.  I have my two pumpkins that Cathy brought me from the Amish store to get ready for freezing and maybe I'll save out enough to bake a pie tomorrow.  It makes me hungry for a piece of pie just to think of it!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to tell us how you did that.  We're a nosy bunch!  Or should I call us "curious"!

Good morning!  It's a beautiful morning here.  Cool but sunny.  The power washing crew is here to wash the house and it really needs it.  I asked them to leave the moss that is growing on the front stoop and they didn't think that was crazy.  Our neighbors want a manicured lawn but I want a lawn that nature plants.  I love the flowering clover and dandelions and all the wild flowers that will grow and the butterflies and bees do, too.  So much better for the ecosystem.

Take care, All.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I didn't make it in last night.  I wore myself out yesterday!  Cathy picked up some beautiful crook-neck pumpkins at Wengers for me and I spent most of the day working on them and looking after Cooper.  I have enough ready for 8 pumpkin pies and some in little jars for adding to recipies.    That and a regular days work added kept me on the move.  Today I'm taking the day off.  Cooper will be arriving a bit before 6 and that starts the day!

PHYLLIS, I like your yard plan!  Maybe I can get away with using that one.  I'm just not a gardener.  I do what I HAVE to do in the yard and the rest is normal!

Good Morning to you, PATRICIA!  I hope you also have a good day, today!

In fact, I wish Everyfriend and good day!  Make it your own in every way!  And try to remember to share it with us.  We love having friends drop by!

Good morning..

We are to go back into the higher temps for the rest of the week they say. I didn't mind the cooler days but back to fry weather.

Trip went well yesterday and Dr didn't keep us waiting hours like last time. Today work around home after returning a window blind, hope I can find one that fits.

Jane, lots of pumpkin pies for you!! That is a lot of work but well worth it. We just have the pie pumpkins this year and they are for Davids dogs.

Phyllis, becareful of mossy steps, they can be slippery. The bees sure love that clover, we have white clover growing out back and bees love it.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

What a great job the power washer crew  did on my house!  They were here when they said they would be, did
everything I wanted and did it well.

Amy, the moss only grows on the bricks along the edge of the porch leaving plenty of room to walk safely.

Jane,  I'll  bring the lemon meringue pie I got yesterday  to add to your pumpkin and we will  have a feast.

Holy Smokes! I forgot to mark the turnover to the September Soda Shoppe, so I just now got finished reading all 72 posts.

On Thursday I had the post implanted, so all that is left is a check to see that it has  healed up okay enough to get the crown done. This coming Monday I go to get a cyst removed from the corner of my eye. Meanwhile, I've been doing the usual, tending the apartment and the cats, watching some TV and reading.

Thought I saw a deer down at the far edged of the woods, but by the time I got the binoculars out, it was gone. I have seen the groundhog several times. Shan discovered one of the local cats (looks well cared for) while sitting at the patio door. They both stared at each other a while until Shan started to talk a little which caused the neighbor cat to come up to the screen for a sniff. I haven't seen our local squirrels for a while until the other day. We now have a white squirrel scouting the area for things to bury and places to bury them. I have no idea where all the other squirrels from this spring went. The little sparrows that inhabit the yew bushes have been congregating as have the robins seem to have gone already, but I thought I saw a  bunch of sparrows whizz by the patio two days ago.

Good morning, no change in the weather, from the past few days. We're still expecting some snow mixed with rain on the 26th. Evidently, a wet weather pattern has stalled over the Interior and isn't moving. The south is expecting more rain.

Our Interior weather travels to and through Canada's Yukon territory, while southeast Alaska travels down through the Gulf of Alaska and further down the west coast. Alaska's southeast is part of the wet climate and rain country, along with Washington and Oregon.

Nothing on plans for today, morning chores finished as are meet and greets, my friend is hosting her son, and he seems to have realized she has no plans to move. Alaska is having a children's whooping cough epidemic. Covid is still active, but the majority are vaccinated.

And so on-and-so forth.

Good morning with a chill 39, I noticed yesterday that with the unusual rain, for September that we are already having morning frost, not only on the rooftops but everywhere. We've already had fall colors almost since the end of August.

I'm not ready for this accelerated fall weather, and extended rain. The last time, in 1967, with similar weather, we were inundated with floodwaters. Since then, they built Chena Lake to drain off the overflow from the Chena and four other rivers. I doubt that we're going to hold off the snow until the usual Halloween deadline.

Amy I doubt if you'd have any of our weather as it should move across and further north, but it would depend on Canada's atmospheric rivers weather movements. You don't sound in any danger of an early winter but keep in mind the provinces and area above Ontario.

Farrah recently turned 12 which makes her 64 in cat years, and the only differences I've seen is she no longer does the high jumps, five feet ones are fine. If you know Callie age, and MG, this should work for Oscar and Shan too;

"The first year of your cat's life is considered the equivalent of 15 human years. The second year adds nine more human years, so 2 cat years are approximately 24 human years. After this, each additional human year is four "cat years" i.e., age 3 will be 28 human years."

https://www.purina.com/articles/cat/behavior/understanding-cats/cat-years-to-human-years

Jane, I'm so sorry to hear you have Covid and hope that you're feeling better and hopefully will be back to normal soon. Thank you for the Coleslaw recipe posting.

Here to everyone having a good day and a better week!

My daughter has a neighbor/friend, senior, who goes to church religiously (pardon the pun).  She and her other churchgoers have managed to get and give Covid several times (I recall her having it four times), but they won't mask up, so it's a never=ending cycle of sickness spreading throughout their congregation.
I feel so sorry for her, as it seems to get worse each time he has it, and she's 80-ish.

One of the lads at coffee is out with covid.  We are on th waiting list for another booster this fall and I am finally going to get the pneumonia  shot.

Patricia, we have a heat blanket across Canada, all too soon it will be a frozen one . I only used the snowblower 3-4 times last winter......hope I am as lucky this winter but I doubt it.

Jane, hope you are feeling much better today.

Better get the day started.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Cooper came and ate his breakfast and took me for a LOOOOOONG walk.  I wasn't planning that long but it was OK.  When I got home and gave him his treat, the chair called my name!  I was actually surprised that I didn't really mind the walk but I'm enjoying the sitting down!

I do feel a ton better today and thank you all for the good wishes!  I'm sure they helped!

Right now, it's in the mid 50s here and only heading for the mid 70s later today!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Well, I certainly hope I don't meet up with that squirrel, Amy.

Jane, I am waiting until the beginning of Oct. to get my shots. That way I will have a few weeks before I have other appointments in case I feel a little under-the-weather after the shots.

Sue and I did a late lunch/early dinner thing at Perkins yesterday after my eye procedure. I brought home a piece of cherry pie. They have give a free piece on Monday's for those who order full meals. Which reminds me. I forgot to eat breakfast. So, I am off to a really early lunch, which of course, will include the pie.

Good morning, nothing new weatherwise, still wet and drizzly out there. This summer has broken all types of records, none of them good and while the Almanac says mild and dry this winter, I'll believe it when I see it.

Rick, thanks for mentioning that article,"While overall deaths have decreased, Covid is still killing, 95% were of age 50 and over in 2023.  COVID-19 was the 10th leading cause of death in 2023, dropping from fourth place in 2022, a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) finds.

During 2023, COVID caused or contributed to 76,446 deaths in the U.S., compared with 245,614 in 2022. COVID death rates decreased for all demographic groups between 2022 and 2023, but they continued to remain highest among people 85 years and older. "

I had a very sore shoulder for over a week, unusual for me, but I attributed to getting two shots instead of one. October is when I get my Shingles shot and the pharmacist told me I'll be miserable the day after, not what I wanted to hear.

I'm scheduled for a shingles shot next week. Still have some pain from the bout I had last September. But I learned to live with it.  My Doc says I should still get the vaccine.

For anyone who has not had their Shingles Shot --- Do it. Don't put it off.

The way it's scheduled is Flu and Covid last week and RSV and Shingles first week of October. I'm not putting them off. It was said it wouldn't be good to have all four at the same time.

Good morning..
Just another day in the neighbourhood here.  Putting more of the garden to bed for the winter...last will be carrots and parsnips. Will leave them in till they get a bit of frost to sweeten them up. May find time to sew. :)

Rick, your right  about the shingle shot.  We have had ours and I don't remember it making either one of us "off" .May have had a bit of a sore arm but nothing to speak of.

Patricia, last year we had the flu and covid shot  at once......no ill effect other than sore arm for a day.

Jane,  how are you feeling? Take it easy and let others cater to you! Not likely you will sit still.

Need to get the day started.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning, the weather hasn't changed but meet and greets went well.

Per the injections, at first, we discussed getting all four at the same time. Then it was decided with my previous issue with a flu shot, to get only two, flu and covid and save the RSV and shingles for the first week in October.

I have the paradox effect, "A paradoxical effect is an unusual medical response where a drug causes an effect contrary to what is normally expected. For example, instead of sedating, a sleep aid might cause alertness, or an analgesic might increase sensitivity to pain rather than reduce it."

I have been known to wake up under anesthesia during an operation and once at the dentist for a procedure, a given drug made me quite loopy. They had to stop and reschedule, and an assistant had to wait with me until it wore off.  With this issue in my records, they are cautious with any drug given or prescribed. This was another reason they separated the injections.

I'm needle phobic but generally have no side effects, This last, my left arm was sore for 8 or 9 days.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  And a special "Good Morning, AMY"

I'm but trying to stay quiet because my guests are still in bed.  Their doggies are up and I think I just heard someone in the bathroom.  Roelkey has a date to play an early gold game with my other SIL who lives here and I'm thinking it's probably him!  Although I saw Christy come out of the bathroom earlier and then the front door was open so I'm sure the doggies have been out!

They're taking Frankie out to eat for her birthday later and then heading for home after that.  I was invited to join them but I opted out.  I don't like eating out any more.  I'm a sloppy eater since the surgery on my cheek.

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!  Make the day your own in every way and let us know how you did that.  We're always interested!

Good morning, the weather stayed the same and the meet and greets went well.

Amy, that's why they nixed the idea of getting all four injections done together. And no one wants to give any medication, such as in 2020 when I sprained my foot and wrenched my hip, couldn't stay upright, and they suggested aspirin.

Jane, enjoy Frankie's birthday and having family staying with you. Although, since it's eleven my time and three in the afternoon your time, that may well be over, but I'm hoping everyone had a good time together.

Morning, Rick, and all others who look in.

Jane, I understand completely about your reluctance to eating out.  My wheelchair seems to always be in everyone's way and with my hand tremors I am a sloppy eater, too. I used to love going out to lunch or dinner with family or friends but no more.

The sun is finally shining, at least for now.  We have had so much rain.  Everyone is so tired of it.  But my lawn looks lush and green.  David did a good job sowing clover and it is really thick and pretty. I am  glad we are trying to go back to a natural landscape.  There  are a few tiny yellow flowers from the wild strawberry and I think I can see some wood violet growing out near the holly bush.  The  row of lariopy along the walk is a mass of lavender blossoms.  My neighbors' lawns of finely tailored fescue have brown patches and burned out places from our very hot summer.  If I sound smug I apologize but I am delighted that our experiment seems to be working....so far.  ::)

Don, - You'd be surprised at how many have NOT had those shingles shots - years ago or recently - including me. No one ever suggested I get them till now. A day late. I got a nice case of shingles last September, and still have painful spots. It just doesn't go away. I don't want to chance getting it again, so am scheduled for my shot(s).

Morning all. We have two more days that are supposed to get over 80o. Right now it is 57o.

Eye seems to be doing okay. I am not fond of the stuff I have to put in it thought. The drops are okay but the other stuff, a gel, is a pain. It is like squeezing Vaseline in my eye and makes it blurry. Also, my nose has been a bit runny and I can't blow it, so I am constantly dabbing it. Well, it feels like it anyway.

Oscar and Shan were way too quiet this morning. Shan spent no time in the bedroom with me, nor did he or Oscar get rowdy this morning letting me sleep a little longer. Nevertheless, I still got up before 5am. They have me well trained.

MG, glad I am not the only one that animals have trained, dogs and now crows have me waiting on them hand foot and finger. I wouldn't have it any other way for the joy they bring me!

Patricia, well worth getting the shots, the pain from shingles as Rick will tell you is unbearable.

Jane, how are you feeling?

Phyllis,bees love clover!!

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  After Christy and Roelkey left to go home and I was totally minus any cuddling doggies, I fell asleep on the sofa 3 times and decided it was time to hit the hay.  When I was ready to climb into the loft for the hay, I looked at the clock and it was only 8:30!  So I put the phone beside my ear and stretched out in bed so I wouldn't miss it when Christy texted that they were home safe.  After that text came in, I REALLY conked out!

I want to thank all of you for the good wishes.  I'm finished with my meds for COCID and hopefull it's over.  We shall see.  I hope all of have good results dealing with your health problems.

Glad to hear that both Jane and MG are recovering nicely.  Both of you still need to take it easy and not overdo for a few days.

The bees of all sizes are already coming back, Amy.   I am so pleased. And we have had more butterflies this year, as well.  I am convinced  that is because we are leaving the wood vines in the edge  of  the woods and that's where they like to lay their eggs and grow their new butterflies  who feast on heart shaped vine leaves.  Our town is encouraging residents to go to this kind of landscaping.  Keep it natural but, keep it neat and well maintained.  Many homeowners are trying to do that.  A lot of us are no longer using pesticides and man made fertilizer and are planting natural areas to encourage the return of the balance of nature.  It will take a long time to repair the damage we have done to our planet but it is a beginning.  I am ranting but feel strongly about this so I have to say something.
 :tickedoff:

Take  care,  All.

Patricia, that is a great article and thanks for the link.  I let my lawn care company go almost a year ago because their  insistence on planting a lawn that does not do well in this climate and then replanting it every  year  at an ever increasing  cost.  Their answer to every issue was to spray poison or spread fertilizer that clogs our water sources and, of course, reseed every year.  I would rather have the beneficial insects than that smooth "pool table" lawn.  David  mows it so the neighbors won't complain but otherwise we are letting nature do it's thing.  She  knows  best,  anyway.   👌

Amy,  my aid is controlled by my cell phone.  If his is have you tried calling his phone # and listening for the ring? Or,
call his audiologist for help.  Good luck!  That aid is a necessity for those of us who depend on them.

Take care,  All.

Good morning, we're supposed to be blessed with today and the next three free of rain. I'm not expecting it to happen, but, it would be nice. Today's low is a bit warmer, at 42. At this point, I wish it would just snow already.

I've got some papers to take downtown, they don't accept anything but hand-delivered, and I'm spoiled, wishing I could go online instead. Meet and greets are finished, all's well there. Farrah is fine, she had her breakfast and several good washes. Now she's off somewhere in one of her various hideouts, napping.

My friend's package arrived yesterday and boy did it smell good. She had one of those gift packages her kids sent for her birthday. That and a lovely bouquet of flowers, she's done a fine job raising those kids, kind, thoughtful and successful in their own ways. All that as a single mom of three on a school nurse's pay.

Rick, MG, was here earlier looking in. Amy, Farrah and I are fine, only a bit soggy. Jane, I only sleep two or three hours at a time, so, while I wish for a solid eight, it's not going to happen, and I generally am awake, other than a few exceptions, by five AM. At least you get a welcome visitor with your early mornings. I get a shambling rush to the coffee pot.

Good Morning, Everyfriend!  I've been up since 5 getting ready and welcoming Cooper.  We took a walk and it started to drizzle while we were out.  We didn't get soaked but I needed a shirt change when i got home and Cooper needed a wipe-down which he never likes!

Got some stuff done this morning and have more to do this afternoon and our walk will definitely be a wet one this afternoon.  I think my raincoat might be in order!  When we get back from that one, my plan is to sit with Cooper until Frankie gets here to pick him up and while the taters bake in the oven.  My plan for them is to eat some for supper and freeze the rest in supper-size plastic bags for other meals.

I hope you all have a good day!  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to bend our ears withe the news of what you did with your day.  We love hearing about it...whatever it is!

It has? Oops.

Not much going on. Been doing the usual cleaning, etc., some reading, not much the last few days, watched a bunch of YouTube stuff and am three episodes into Northern Exposure, which I didn't get to see much of when it came out.

The cats have been fairly quiet the last few days. Shan has been sneezing to beat the band, but no snottiness or eye watering. Fall allergies? I have a new HEPA filter arriving in mid-October to replace the old one, and I am debating getting another HEPA air cleaner to put in another room, or just buy a higher MERV rated air filters for the central air. Right now the apartment maintenance uses a 3, but I want to get the 8 rating. I don't want to restrict the air flow on the central air in case it puts too much of a strain on the unit. The maintenance guys are okay with it, but I haven't checked with my rental manager yet.

Just this morning I saw a map of the US depicting drought conditions. From just elevated to extreme the US is pretty much in some level of drought. Here, right now, it is raining and the temp is 61o. It won't get much above 63o.

Today I got my next to last grocery deliver. I won't be renewing. The grocery stores are soooo close and easy to get to from here, and I really, really need the exercise.

Good morning...

Damp out there this morning, temp 58°.

Still cleaning up/out the basement. Friend may stop by to pick up roasts that I got for his dogs. No set day whatever works for him.

Had to go feed crows, they were kicking up a fuss for their breakfast. I thought they could wait till I got dressed but no.:(

Jane, one of your naps must have flown the coop and I nabbed it yesterday  Both Jesse and I were down for the count. :)

Better get the day moving..

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Not slow here, Rick. Popped right in.

Rainy morning and news of another possibility of hurricane forming in Gulf and heading over western NC.  What a year this has been!

I'm trying to find someone to replace my front door.
Got an estmate yesterday from a company for $7500.  I nearly fainted and told him goodbye very quickly.  He  must have thought I am King Farouk.

Take care,  All.

Good morning, supposedly we're done with the rain until October, although it rained overnight. You can't go by the past weather anymore, the last five years have shown an entirely different set of patterns.

My sister sent me a postcard from Minnesota during her cross country trip. She talked about how it reminded of Alaska with its lakes and terrain.

She also mentioned that the leaves were only beginning to show colors, which is different from our current case where the leaves changed and are now falling. She left Idaho with friends on a road trip to Boston, then back to Oregon, then returning to Idaho.

She also says this will be her last trip, which I doubt as she's always had itchy feet.

Rick, it was slow for me yesterday and earlier this morning, but seems better now.

Jane, I don't blame you for not walking in the dark. A few years back, I wouldn't have thought about it, but now, being on the edge of the city and close to riverside parks, I'd rather wait for daylight.

Amy,eveidently you've given those crows high expectations.  ;)
My friends and I had a longtime, successful bartering system in place with everyone participating. Since Covid and the great migration as we've termed it, moving off the land and into other states and city living, that is, unfortunately, no longer the case. I used to regularly receive quart jars of fresh honey for only three dollars, and you rinsed out and returned the empty jars.

Phyllis, I searched and found this for a general replacement guide, cost of replacing front doors, https://www.homewyse.com/services/cost_to_install_front_door.html

too.

Thanks,  Patricia.  I  checked with Home Depot this morning and those prices are about the same as you found.  The company that I was talking to yesterday seems to want to deal with the wealthy homeowner and I am not in that  category.  Glad I  told him no.   I'll probably go with Lowes or Home Depot when I decide what I want.

Hello Everyfriend!  No Cooper tomorrow so I can sleep in a bit if my mind and body will allow it!  And I won't have to hurry with breakfast either.

I'm just about ready for bed!  My appointment today wasn't with the ear dr.  It was with the dentist.  I don't know how I got that mixed up.  And it was on the side of my face that's already numb.  They put numbing stuff around the tood and then filled a spot and when I came out of the office, my whole left side of my face was numb!  It was almost 2 hours before the stuff wore off and left me with the nurmal numbness from the facial surgery.  I couldn't feel the whole left side of my face all the way up to my forehead and down in my neck.  I'm glad that's better!

I didn't have any lunch and supper sure was good!

Now I'm just about ready to hit the haystack.  I just have to straighten up the kitchen and get myslf ready for the hay!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to stop by and share it with us.  We're the nosy type and we want to know what you're up to!

Good morning...

Make sure you have your seatbelts on ,Micheal gave us super sonic speed!! AMAZING!

Rain during the night and for the next few days it seems. Domestic duties (thanks Callie) today then make the sewing machine hum.

Jane, hope your freezing has long gone and leaves you withno residual pain.

Patrica, yes they are spoiled , but all too soon they will be gone and I will miss the entertainment at th window.

MG, one of the jobs that has to be done here, vacuum. Dog high tails it to the bedroom when I bring the vacuum out. Does your vacuum bother the cats?

Rick, you may need wind goggles , the speed now on here is fantastic!

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Oh yes, Amy. They don't like it at all. Oscar can't hear any more, so he only gets anxious when he actually sees me coming with it. Shan generally heads under the bed. At least he doesn't react so much, if at all, to my upstairs neighbor's vacuum any more. The first time or two he heard it he looked up and fairly ran around in circles before heading for the darkest reaches under the bed.

More rain today, staying in the sixties. Haven't got anything planned for the day.

Good Morning, Everyfriend!  It's a rainy day here today, too.  I'm going to lunch with my former Pennsylvania House Employee Office Friends.  They will be picking me up later this morning.  We're going to a different place that I've never been.  I'm looking forward to seeing all my friends again.

AMY, you weren't kidding about our "supersonic speed"!  No sitting around waiting today.  You want it, you got it!

My doggies always went under the desk when I got out the sweeper!  And they didn't come out until they heard the closet door close when I put it away!

No Cooper today so I took a walk by myself.  It's a lot more fun with Cooper.  He tells me where to go!

I'm off to the showers to get ready for my pickup.  I wish you all a great day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.  See y'all later!

Good Morning AMY and anyone else who shows up!

AMY, It's also raining here....all day....sometimes harder than others.  It sprinkled on us the whole walk but it didn;t seem to bother Cooper.  He did the usual long one!  I wore my raincoat!  It's supposed to rain off and on all week until a week from Monday....or is it Tuesday.   I forget!

Today is an inside day and lots to do inside.  I'm thinking of throwing a roast in the crock pot for supper.  I forgot something I need to put in the trash for collection tomorrow.  I got it ready to drag out before I go to bed tonight because he's an early arrival.  I guess I better add that before I forget again.

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow. Make it your own in every way and don't forget to share it with us.  We miss you when you don't stop by!

Good morning, another day of rain and a low of 39 and an expected high of 48. The forecasters are still lying to us, saying no rain since last weekend. The weekend is supposed to be sunny with no clouds until rain on Tuesday. I wonder whose forecast they're giving us?

Meet and greets went well and Farrah has been fed with fresh water. Morning chores are finished, and I'm having my first cup of coffee. Nothing new here, other than today will be my last farm drop of fresh vegetables until I renew for next summer's crop. Thirty pounds of fresh weekly vegetables has been wonderful, and I'll miss it until next year.

"Alaskan crops grow faster, larger and taste better due to the black glacial soil and the midnight sun. Less than seven percent is privately held. Most of the land is held by state and federal government and Native corporations. And what we do have is taken by developers."

"Amy Pettit, executive director, Alaska Farmland Trust (AFT), says. "There is also very little land that is ideal for farming. As the Last Frontier attracts more people, more homes are being built, with developers seeking out all of the prime flat land that is available. "We're losing farmland daily to construction and housing developments, but the average person looking around sees so much land," says Pettit. "While most people see wide open space and thousands of acres, I'm watching real soil be destroyed."

I am with you there, Patricia. It is happening everywhere. And it is not just houses. I've watched, over the years, more and more land being converted to houses and apartments, but also some years back now, a whole bunch of car dealerships that decided to move just down the Pike a mile or so buy up and put in big new complexes side-by-side, and more recently, much more housing to house who? I thought the US was losing population which is one of the reasons why, I suspect, they keep letting in illegals.

Meanwhile:
1. Big corps and government are scooping up more and more land for solar farms. We are looking at losing farms down the road near York to benefit Philly, NY, NJ but not locally.

2. Planting huge transmission lines in farmers' fields which is causing shock hazards to farmers and livestock

3. Taking land for carbon sequestration (where at least one such is leaking and causing air and water pollution)

4. Someone is always finding something that needs mining.

5. Pipelines. I haven't heard much about that lately.

6. Wind farms. I haven't heard much about that lately, either.

What did I forget? Anyway, it all spells less and less farm land to feed more and more people. Less and less food security. Found an interesting website for those interested in what is going on nationwide with small holding farms and what they have to deal with regarding such things as government regulations and takings, vandalism, and other things that impact food availability and prices. I mostly watch the "As a Man Thinketh" series. https://www.youtube.com/@YanasaTV I was originally attracted to the site because I have an ongoing interest in water issues, especially aquifers.

Well, I went shopping with Cathy today and I bought some stuff for the new baby coming to join the family in November.  I'm very happy with that.  Then we stopped at Target and got some house stuff and then had lunch out.  After that, we headed for home.

When we got home, I let Cooper take me for a walk and it was almost time for Frankie to come by and pick him up.  I never did get a nap today and morning will be coming early again tomorrow.  Frankie will drop off Cooper a bit before 6 on her way to work.  So I'm on my way to the haystack!  It's been a good day but a busy one!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  Make the day your own in every way and don't forget to share it with us!  We need your company!

Extremely muggy here and off and on rain. Did you all see the incredible damage Hurricane Helene wrought on Florida, especially Cedar Key?

The cats are finished with our lunches, and now they are into their major afternoon nap. I don't feel like disturbing them, so vacuuming is out for the moment. Most of the rest I did yesterday. So, I may just read a while.

My current Medicare Advantage program dropped Silver Sneakers and is now going with something called FitOn. I never heard of it before. This outfit is geared to all ages. The insurance will give an allowance for using their programs, etc., but I don't have any info yet on how much. I do know that there is a total of 1 FitOn gym in this area, and it is in the middle of downtown Harrisburg. I haven't found any other gyms or personal fitness instructors it the area yet that may be affiliated. At least Silver Sneakers was senior oriented and several of the local gyms accepted Silver Sneakers members. The other thing they are doing is changing the name of the insurance program I am in. I am looking forward to seeing what the other insurance companies have on offer this year.

Silver Sneakers are on YouTube. I hadn't heard anything about a change. I've also never heard of FitOn and will look into it.

I found it online, all sort of promises including celeb advertising and offering a free sign up, but nowhere does it show any price or other information until you sign up. That to me is a huge red flag.

I found the following on a couple of different sites about FitOn.  Notice the word "digital" in the beginning. Are there no physical places to visit for fitness purposes?

"A full gym & wellness coach. Always On.

FitOn Health is a leading digital wellness platform that offers the most premium content, the widest variety, and unique social experiences. No equipment needed— unlimited access on any screen."

Dame Maggie Smith, the trailblazing British actress best known for her starring roles in "Harry Potter" and "Downton Abbey," has died at 89.

Smith's two sons, Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens, said in a statement provided to USA TODAY that their mother died peacefully early Friday at a London hospital. Her cause of death was not revealed.

"She leaves two sons and five loving grandchildren who are devastated by the loss of their extraordinary mother and grandmother," the siblings said in a statement.

The brothers also thanked "the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their care and unstinting kindness during her final days" as well as fans for their "kind" messages and support. They asked that the family's privacy be respected.

Hello!  I fell asleep and slept through most of two TV shows tonight.  I decided it was time to get up off the couch and get things ready for the morning and then hit the haystack.  Cooper doesn't come this weekend.  Frankie has the weekend off.  She said she might be over to give him a bath and if that happens, it means he'll hang around here while she runs to the store for a "few things".

Today was a busy day,  I can't remember what I did but I sure didn't sit around much until I took my supper in and st down in front of the TV.  Cooper and I had two nice, long walks and he did some yard hanging around!

Now I'm off to the haystack.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to drop by and let us know how you did that.  We're the nose type!  GOOD NIGHT!

Furnace was checked over and cleaned so we are good to go this winter. We have the nicest young man and sometimes his wife works with him but he said she is now retired. I am going to see if the power washer will work with what David said to try.

Good Morning, AMY and anyone else who stops by.  No Cooper today so I took my walk all by my lonliness!

I already have one load of wash folded and put away and another in the dryer and another in the washer.  I like to do this when Cooper isn't here because I don't need to wonder what he needs when I'm busy.  And he doesn't need to think he has to jump up on the bed when I'm folding laundry there!  It's the best place for me but sometimes he thinks he needs to share.  (I think the dryer just beeped).

I better be getting back to work so I get it all done before I decide to collapse.  I wish you all a great day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.  Make it your own in every way!  Do whatever suits your fancy!

Amy, OKC did have a hail storm that did quite a bit of damage several days ago. Neither my family nor I live in the area that was hit hard. A few small hail stones dotted my yard but they melted almost immediately.

Since then, our weather has been perfect!  Warm sunny days and cool - almost cold - nights and no wind.

I've had a busy week with this and that...partly at home and partly elsewhere. Watched the football games of the two major universities this afternoon. My OU Sooners beat Auburn. :cheer: Unfortunately, my children's/grands' OSU Cowboys lost. :(

Hello Everyfriend!  CALLIE, nice to see you stop by!  Cindy said they didn't get any of the bad stuff up when she lives near Tulsa either.  I always ask her when I hear a bad weather report!

I got a lot done today...7 loads of laundry, washed, dried, folded and put away.  The bed changed. I cooked some cauliflower to go with my meat loaf and taters and I have three dinners in the freezer and 2 in the fridge to eat in the next couple days.  Also made some egg thingys and have them ready for breakfasts.  It will help when Frankie is coming before 6 to drop off Cooper.  I didn't have him this weekend.  She had it off and she stays home at least one day and cleans and rests.  She said they might be over tomorrow.  Cooper needs a bath!

Now I'm heading for the haystack.  I'm tired right down to my toenails and I'm ready to toss in the towel and conk out!  I wish you all a peaceful nights sleep and a happy tomorrow.  Make the day your own in every way!  And don't forget to stop by and tell us how you did that!  We love to hear from you!

I do swear that when I typed the above out it was spaced correctly, spelling perfect.period, double  and things in right place. What a mess.

Doubt I buy a new computer as know one uses Email anymore and I don't trust the Internet to do any personal banking and such now. Fact I don't even trust the buying on it.

Family still live very far away and only use Phones and Texting. Even the young one Text and now we have the scanning .I don't even know what that does but I bought something the other day where it has to be Scanned in order to Use it. Have to head over to library as it has to be done on a Iphone.

Off to bed and will think about it tomorrow

Good morning..

Starting out at 48° and squeaking to 70° today. A day of rest here that I am more than willing to partake in! :) Pup is laying at my feet, as big as he is he manages to squeeze in the open space of my desk then plop!

Callie, good to hear you are ok in OKC. :)

JeanneP , good to see you and I am in the same boat with the technology. THankfully we have Rick and Patricia that can steer us right.  If my computer needs to be looked at we have a nice young man that makes it better.

Jane, your supper sounds delicious!! Meatloaf sandwiches are good also.

Rick, thank you for your kind offer but I am going to try with this one....I am beging to think age may have the upperhand on this, not mine but found out the washer was bought in '99. So maybe it is time  for it to go, after I try all else on it.

Better get on with the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

It was nice to stop by and see that JEANNEP showed up!  I've been wondering where she was!  I'm often confused by the new stuff but I'm lucky to have a daughter who is around almost daily and if I need computer help, she helps.

AMY, I used to have 2 little Scottie dogs who hung out under my desk or the dining room table or joined me on the sofa if I sat down to watch TV.  I truly miss them!  Cooper is nice to have around but totally different!

I'm waiting for daylight to get my morning walk in.  I think I might need a jacket this morning. It's still only 61 degrees and only heading for a high of 68 all day.  I really do think Autumn has arrived in my area!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!  Make the day your own and be sure to stop by and tell us how you did that.  We're the naturally nosy type!

Still below 60 here at 9:15,  I think those hot days of summer might just be gone. Next on to complaing about the cold. That's OK if there in no snow associated with it.

Good morning, 27 degrees and sunny, with 50 as an expected high. Morning chores and meet and greets are done, with coffee yet to come. Watering plants and laundry are on today's agenda, with another neighbor's package to watch out for. I'm also expecting to hear from some friends who had recently moved from Charlotte To Greensboro.

Another day is on the way out. Crows have a full tummy, one even went to the neighbours garden and made a tomato 🍅  sandwich! Showed my neighbour where the crow picked at her tomato! Something ,maybe a small 🦌  has been sleeping in her flower garden, flattened out the irises to make a bed.

Patricia, I don't  mind the cooler temps, talked with David on his way to TX and told him not to bring back the heat, thank you.

Day is over and the dark is here!  I'm avoiding the TV right now.  There's nothing on there that I really want to watch.  I'm in my jammies and ready to hit the haystack early tonight.  Cooper will be here a bit before 6 tomorrow morning and my day will begin.  It's really hard to put him off for his morning walk until it's light enough to see what's out there.  He's always ready as soon as he gulps down his breakfast.

Today was a good day!  Did some good stuff and did some good loafing!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy day tomorrow.  Make it your own in every way!  And don't forget to fill us in on how you do that.  We might like to try doing what you do!

Good morning..

Another chilly morning with a 11% chance of rain today. Off to the city to get Kyles hearing aid repaired then drop off "stuff" at goodwill , pick up a book and then home. Neighbour is looking after Jesse for us.

Jane, I like it when one does good loafing and if lucky finds one of your runaway naps and I get to use it!  :2funny:

Patricia, hope you heard from your friends.

Enjoy your day and stay safe

Good Morning AMY and whoever else appears.  I was up and preparing for Cooper's arrival when Frankie called to say she wasn't bringing him today.  She was teary when she called and I asked if she was OK and she said "yes, but I called off work.  I tell you about it when I come over!"  Now I have all sorts of things in my mind that might be wrong, number 1 being, "Is Cooper OK!"

I guess I'll wait (impatiently) and find out what's wrong when she gets here!

I hope you all have a great day!  Do what suits you best!

Jane, --- Hope all's OK, and it's just a small inconvenient thing that has to be cared for.

Merry Monday.

Janie, I, too, hope Cooper is okay.

Last week was so busy. This week is the opposite.  Don't have anything planned except Son bringing dinner on Wednesday.  (necessary cooking and Domestic Duties are repetitive subjects and don't count IMO  ;) )

Enjoy your day, Everyfriend.

All's well with Frankie and Cooper.  It was Frankie that didn't feel well.  She just decided that she needed the day off to recuperate and when she came over she was on her way to the dentist and Cooper was his normal self.  By the time they went home, they seemed fine!

I'll have him tomorrow at the early hour so I have to get some sleep and be up and attem and ready to move by 5:45 tomorrow.  And I have an appointment with the ear dr. early afternoon.  I might not be here when she picks up Cooper!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and happy day tomorrow.  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to let us know how you did that!  We're the nosy type!
