Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Good morning.

I'm meeting my friend for breakfast in a few minutes and than go to the nursery.  A few sunny days make you want to dig in the dirt :).

Have a good day everyone.

Mary.

Breezy and chilly this morning but lovely sunshine coming through my windows.

Jackie, you new home is just about perfect.  I think I am just a little envious of you.  Enjoy every moment of it.  And it is so nice to have you back in S&F again.

Lloyd, you do seem to have some bad luck that follows you around.  Sorry you lost your new barn supplies and hope that you can replace them soon.  So glad that it wasn't worse and that no one was injured.  Property can be replaced--people can't!

Good game last night even though the final result was a shock!  UNC came soooo close!

Hal, I think that is not too bad news from your doctor and happy to know that he/she is going to keep a close check on the progress of the tumor.  My S(ister)IL, who lived in San Antonio, lived quite awhile with one kidney.

MaryTX, enjoy getting your hands dirty!  I would love to get down and plant some things but I would never get up again.  My gardening days are limited now to admiring my neighbor's flowers.   ;)

Joan, to be honest, I like the smiling with love emoticon at the end of your daily offering better than I liked the old dancing bananas.  They were fun to see but this one makes me happy.

Joy, there is a blank space after the opening bracket that Rammel used for posting purposes.  Just delete that blank space and I think your weather widget will work.   :2funny:  How's that for some good alliteration?

Hi Joan
A sunny afternoon here!

Kelly

Gloria

Good morning everyone, finally stopped snowing and the sun is shining at last. Still cold and in the low 20's. Mother Nature is sure mixed up this year. Just heard the weather forecast and Thursday we are in for rain, maybe an inch of it. Well rain in April is better than yesterday's snow.

RAMMEL  thanks for the link, I will check it out when I finish here.

KELLY  Moghrey Mie. Yesterday was an OK day but with sun shining this morning today will be much better. If it warms up into the 30's I just might go outside. Hope you have a great one.

JUNE  right after 40 years working in a small place where the owners were the bosses a change to a larger company buying it every thing has changed.

SUN  funny how different a mouse can feel. I don't know how many I have bought over the years but I do love the wireless ones.

JOAN  ph you are a mind reader. I woke thinking I could really enjoy something sweet for breakfast and  sticky buns will sure do it for me. Never thought of remarks on Insurance Forms before but if these are examples they really get some odd ones. Sure got some chuckles from these. We Have That, yes good neighbors are a blessing. Thank you for today's goodies.

LLOYD  so sorry about that fire. You really had bad luck there.

AMY  good morning.

JACKIE  I am so happy for you with your new home.  Love the peaceful setting. Enjoy many years there.

JANE  just don't go getting into trouble today.

JOY  I have been wondering when April and February exchanged their weather. It was warmer and spring like in February than April has been so far.

MARY TX  hope you find some great plants.

PHYLLIS  like you the sunshine is wonderful this morning, looks calm out there but it is below freezing still. Like you I have to be content with my house plants. Those I can still “play” with.

Good Morning Everyone!

Boy, everyone beat me in here this morning.  I stopped to get a cup of coffee and glance at the paper and before I knew it, read the whole thing.  Not that much news in the paper, mostly gossip.  Oh, and of course all about the rich folks stashing their money overseas, what's new?

Lloyd, boy-o-boy! Obviously you didn't have a hose handy to put that fire out, but it sure seems like it did a lot of damage to things.  Will you home owners insurance cover any of the damage?  I would sure look into it.  Did you equipment burn or just the tires?

Sun, have you had the doctor look at your hands.  Sounds like it may be corporal syndrome (sp) and that can be fixed.  I may have the name of the problem misspelled.

Gloria, I hope you get a little relief from the bad weather.  We couldn't have better weather.  Our flowers on the patio are starting to bloom.  Wife was a little unhappy this morning, a squirrel got into the hibiscus flower pot and almost dug the whole thing up, and it is full of blooms.  That plant went through the whole winter and survived.  Shows you how cold we got here this year.  We did have some freezes but the plant is under partial protection on the patio.  Slated roof and behind a post.

Janie, I suspect that you are like me with your computer.  I don't stray much from my usual haunts. Email, and several sites I visit daily and on occasion I go different places if I am researching something.  Mostly just trust sites.  Keeps things fairly safe.

Jackie, that is really a nice place you have.  I love the fence you have in the back garden and it looks like it is well built and maintained and better yet it doesn't block the view.  Don't know how the view will be though when those trees leaf out.  You are going to have to hire a garden person.

Thanks for everyones comments on my problem. Things worked out okay.

Well got to pay some bills, so better get with it.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone,
from the cool but very sunny,
rocky coast of Maine.

The forecast is looking great..  In
just a couple more days,  the temps will
be headed up to more Spring like
temps...

I love this time of the year  when we
have late Spring,  Summer and Fall to
look forward too.

Have a Great Day,  Everyone!
Sandy

Good morning, Joy.  It seems it should be time for the s--- to depart for this year.  I see Phyllis and Jeanne Lee gave you info about the weather "thingy".

MaryTX--Good morning.   Enjoy your breakfast with your friend and then your visit to the nursery.  Here there's no need to plant flowers.  The HOA does it.

Hi Kelly.

Gloria--Good morning.  Glad the sweet "something" you were thinking about turned up here in the SS.:)  I have to be happy with silk plants in the house, because I have a "black thumb" and kill every inside plant given to me.

Good morning, Sandy.  It's about time you had some warmer weather.

June Drabek

Good Morning Everyfriend !!! I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep, so got up, and snooped around on the computer for an hour. Back to be to exercise and do therapy, then read the morning Bible books, then decided to sleep some more. Woke at seven and have read all the posts from last night and today. Had a delightful letter from our Junee, what a nice treat that was.

Lloyd, I can't believe the bad luck you keep running into down there in your area. How did one spark manage to do so much damage without some one noticing the smoke sooner? Thank God it did no worse. Fire and floods are so cruel.

Junee, how blessed you are to have a daughter that is a nurse, and living upstairs of you. I can't think of anything nicer for you. It must give you a great deal of confidence in just plain living…..I am fortunate too in having an open clinic on the first floor from me that is open 24/7. I am going down this morning and handing them a renewal for one of my medications. They will have it filled, and notify me when it is ready. God is Good.

Vanilla, Your new home and surrounding area is just gorgeous !!!! Your are truly blessed to have such beautiful surroundings. Lots of room for the doggies too. I just love your place.

Janie, first I have to take care of my prescription, then at 10 a.m. we have an Association Meeting, at 2:45 this afternoon is our Balance and Mobility class, and that is all for today, besides taking a number of walks and eating. Gives me some hours to re-sort "stuff".

Bis, I had half an English muffin and a cup of coffee. Stomach feels a bit uneasy, like it doesn't enjoy my choice. This too will pass.

Joy, my area of So. CA. will be sunny with a high of 85…come on down and sit a spell.

MaryTX…I wish I had som dirt to dig in, I miss it. However there would be a problem of getting down to the dirt and back up again. I have good memories though.

Phyllis, my gardening days are limited to one African Violet plant, and the Easter Lily Dori and Gary gave me. I had to leave all my other potted plants behind, alas.

Bis, I too have silk or plastic flowers. Three bud vases with roses that add color without the watering problem.

Time to make my bed, get dressed and downstairs to order my meeds. See you all later. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Joy

Jeanne,  As to the "weather thing",  I have tried several times and when it hasn't worked, I have just deleted what were there.  I have to wait until I have more time.   The last time I tried it, all that came up were the words "Big BOX"  so I just went back and deleted that.    I will try again later.

June, I would love to come out and sit with you.  I have only been to California when I flew to Los Angeles to take a cruise to west coast of Mexico and was only there for a short time while waiting to board the ship.  My son and DIL just came back from the Napa Valley area.  They did several wine tours and then went over to Sausalito.  I would love to go to the San Diego Zoo,  as I have read it is one of the best zoos in the whole country.  Do think that my traveling days are over......  at least to come that far.

But, Thanks for the invitation.   :smitten:

Not long had our visit from our parkhomes site AGM Chairman...we have now become an annual member....the next meeting is held in the next villages local hall next month....he spent a good 90 minutes with us....

Kelly

Hi Jackie
Will you go to the AGM?

Kelly

Hi everyone on a fine, sunny and reasonably warm morning with the expectation of seeing it get to around 68 degrees today.  Nothing yet scheduled for today  We may check out the new Aldi's today.  We will continue our preparations for my sister and BIL's visit starting late tomorrow afternoon or early evening.  The tech from the star lift company was here yesterday around noon and checked everything out.  He did find one of the battery connectors was probably not making good contact so fixed it and things seem to be working OK now.

Molly, good to see you posting again.

Jackie, we have missed you also and have wondered about your move.  I am glad you love your new home and have friendly neighbors.

Hal, glad you are not facing surgery at this time and hopefully will never need to have it done.

Rammel, thanks for the info on the weather widget.

June, I have used the Avast antivirus program and it worked well.

Lloyd, so sad that you have had this fire loss.  It does seem that bad things are happening too often with you.

Phyllis, that basketball game was what a National Championship game should be with the outcome decided in the last couple of seconds of the game.  That was quite a shot that young man took to make the final basket as the buzzer went off.

JaneS

First of all...what and where is my "signature box".  I looked at Rammel's email to me and I don't know WHERE to start.

I've cleaned out the fridge and the cupboard.  I have a bag to go to the trash and one to go to the church for donation to the Food Pantry.  I'm taking a bag of ice cream sandwiches to the freezer at the church with a note on them to be used for Youth Group or whatever.  I bought them for Frankie right before she moved out and I don't like them and neither does Kiran.  I got rid of everything with an expired "use by" date and everything that someone else might use.

Then I took my shower and got dressed and I'm dumping everything (hopefully) in the right place this afternoon.  Boy am I ever tired already!  But I'm determined! And if what's left is still there when I come back from Texas in May, it's going out the door, too.

Hi Gloria
Fastyr Mie to you and others who are now into the afternoon.

Not long home, so time for tea and a chocolate digestive biscuit.

Kelly

JoanFL

June--Sure hope your stomach has settled down.  Would you believe I was given a beautiful Easter lily by a friend, and I've managed to kill it already?

Joy--Are you going to your profile and putting the info for the weather "thingy" in the signature box and then clicking the "change" button.

Jackie--Nice that the AGH Chairman came for a lengthy visit.

Larry--How nice that your sister and BIL are coming for a visit.  Glad to hear the tech fixed the chair lift.

Janie--As  I said above, go to your profile, modify profile, put weather widget info in Signature box and click "make change" before you leave.  I've been cleaning out my freezer door on my fridge and my fridge in the garage--little by little.  I am tossing 95% of the stuff and starting over.  Most of the stuff is outdated.

Joy

Yes, Joan.  I do remember to click where it says to "change profile"

This is what I am doing.......   I copy the line at the bottom of the page that Rammel  put the directions....... Then I deleted that space between the bracket and whatever is next............  Then I changed the name of my town and state.... then pasted it into the signature box.....  The last time I did it,  only the words "BIG BOX"  showed up on my page.   It probably is just a dumb thing that I am doing or not doing.

I will work some more on it when I have some uninterrupted time. LOL

Good Afternoon,

Busy morning - first, the usual weekly hair appointment  and then errands  "all around the town".   So happy that traffic was light and the grocery store wasn't crowded.
Came home to find that #2 son had delivered supplies for finishing touches to the flower beds/stepping stones in the back yard that were put in last Fall.  In a text exchange he said he may be back late this afternoon.

All of this has done wonders for my frame of mind, which has not been as good as it "should be" (whatever that means) for the past few days.   I never have been and never will be a perky chirpy "Pollyanna" but I do prefer  not to be An Old Curmudgenette, especially when other people are involved.  Onward and Upward!

Jackie,  I really enjoyed the picture tours of your new home and area.  How neat to have your very own pheasant!    :)    I think I spied bird feeders.  Hope you enjoy them as much as I do  mine.

Hope Everyfriend Everywhere is enjoying a lovely day.

Have you had a good weather day.

Thank you,  Jeanne.  I hadn't yet got back to trying yet.  I really appreciate your doing that.   So many little "twerky" things that seem to go wrong.   So many of you are so good about "fixing" things for all of us.   Thanks again.
