Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Jeanne Lee, I suspect you are the one who fixed my weather thingie, so thank you very much.  I am not good at that sort of thing.

Mary Ann

Jeanne Lee

No problem, Mary Ann.  Always glad when I can do a little to help.   ;)

Kelly--Yes.  We have had a lovely weather day.

Jeanne Lee--How kind of you to fix the weather widgets for folks.  I remember when we used to call our Bunnie "the picture lady" because she urged and helped many folks get their avatar posted.  Do you remember that?

Jeanne Lee

Oh yes, Joan.  Bunnie definitely was our "Picture Lady!, not just because of the avatars but overall.   :)

Good Night Everyfriend.  I wish you peaceful rest and a happy tomorrow.

JEANNE  I have idea where to look for the weather gadget. I copied Rammel's instructions and went to my profile and checked all around and saw nothing.

HAL  so the gossip was interesting this morning? Yes it is Carpal Tunnel, been there and had the surgery 3 times. First doc should have been retied years ago. Found a better one and he fixed what the other one didn't then had the other hand done. Today did not get out of the 20's but it was bright sun and blue sky. Me, too, I do not browse the web, don't click on links in emails but will copy and paste in the browser. I have 2 different spy ware programs that I alternate running every other day and an antivirus that runs often.

JOAN  guess my family takes after my parents. My Mom with house plants and my Dad with a veggie garden.

JOY  I have been to the San Diego zoo a few times. My Daughter lives there and they took me a few times. Always something new and different. I was there when they first had 2 Pandas on loan from China. One Christmas they had trucked snow down from the mountains and filled a hallow spot and had plastic sleds for people to use for sliding. It was so odd seeing people dressed in shorts playing in that snow. I have a picture of that some place. They also have a Wild Animal park in the mountains that was wonderful. All the different animals had places fixed to look like their native habitat. Like you my traveling days are over.

JACKIE  looks like you and R will become really ensconced in your new community. That is wonderful.

LARRY  wonderful your sister and BIL will be there for a visit.

JANE  like you I have no idea how to start with the weather gadget. Either someone will have to to talk me through it step by step or put it in for me. I empties almost everything in my freezer last time my son was here. Now I have room for more in there. This freezer is so hard to find anything in and keeps getting shoved to the back. I even forgot I had a bottle of frozen apple cider my other son made in there.

KELLY  about now it is Fastry Mie to you and everyone here on the east coast. When you posted this one it was just 4 minutes past noon here.

JOAN too much water or not enough? Poor lily plant. Oh yes I well remember Bunnie getting after me way back to get my picture into SN. She taught me how to start posting my own pictures so I would not have to bother her all the time. She posted for so many back then.

JEANNE  Bunnie will never be forgotten by any who knew her. I think she helped everyone at one time or other. Just like you and Joan do. Like Rae and all those heading she did for all the different topics and dressed them all for Christmas. I agree with Jane, we will keep you.

JANE  we will keep you, too.

Sleep well everyone.

I am not even going to think about insurance. they pay a dribble then raise your preamuim and then cancel you very hard to get more insurance. If I was out of debt I would be total self insuread except for libealitey.

June I set the orginal fire in some trash and dead trees. some how it jumped into the good lumber piels and into the truck and trailor, toteled the trayoler and burnt one tire off the truck before the firedeptment
got it out. but ni life or human limb hurt so all is good. Have a great day . Good night every one ,
I am a tired old man.

Janie, so good to have your pretty face back with us again.

Jeanne Lee, I too sent you my picture with a plea that you would size and post it, but I never had a reply.  I sent my message to
pairajeans@gmail.com and the computer shows it has been sent. So it is floating around out there somewhere.

I am completely bushed tonight. Decided to do a load of laundry late this afternoon, and it absolutely drained me. This was shortly after doing an hour of Balance and Mobility exercise, so I may be pushing too many buttons in my old age. Also went down for a meeting in the morning.....whew
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Denver

Good evening to EVERYFRIEND.

Running late tonight.  I enjoyed a nice bus ride to Black Hawk today.  Two neighbors joined me and we sure had a lot of fun.  No one came home with much money, but we had fun just the same.  It was a beautiful morning, but then the wind started and before long it was snowing like crazy.

JACKIE, I'm so sad as I can not view your pictures.... It is just a black screen on both. I tried several time to no avail.  Might you be able to send them to me in email, please?

Good night, KELLY.  I hope you have a wonderful rest.

LLOYD, I am feeling just ill after reading about the fire.  It is so easy for something like this to get out of hand.

Feeling really tired to will say goodnight to all.

Gloria â€" are you the one I know or someone new?  Can’t tell for sure….   I am shocked anyone like the cordless mouse…I hate mine….no control over it.

Hal = I have Dr. Appt. next Monday……Craziest thing….try to lift middle finger, It jumps out of joint or socket, or something. Now the middle knuckle on same finger is swollen and lockd in place.  Weired……

Jeanne LEE â€" Don’t be shocked if you get several avatars ….mine included.  Please?

I have a question…..

Does anyone have, or wear one of those necklaces, where if you fall or  get hurt, you  can    get help…forget what they call them.  ??

Good Wednesday afternoon, guess those nasty gremlins have been pestering us again, only just this minute got in.....

MaryTX

Hi Jackie..

I was wondering where everyone was?  I got in earlier but very few postings today.

I love your house and the grounds.  I remember the other pic you sent with the sea in the background.  How far away are you from it and how close are you to town?  Are you getting settled somewhat?   It sounds like you are in a friendly neighborhood and have some really nice neighbors.

How are you healthwise?  Are you close to a physical therapy clinic so you can keep with your exercises?

Hi everyone.  It is another cool 45 degree, sunny and calm morning but we should get to 70 degrees this afternoon.  We have to do a bit of grocery shopping today as this evening my sister and BIL will arrive. It will be after the dinner hour so we may have a big lunch out while we are shopping so dinner can be a light one.  I had an email from her yesterday saying they were having a great time in  Gatlinburg, Tennessee and they certainly have had nice weather. Don't be concerned about my not posting the next couple of days as want to spend as much time as possible with our visitors. I will just have to play it by ear.

Joan, I have had our Easter lily on the front porch but have to put it in a sheltered place when the wind is blowing.  Two of the four blooms have died but the other two remain looking healthy as does the plant part.

Callie, I just can't picture you as an "Old Curmudgenette".  :)  Glad you had a positive day.

For those of you having trouble finding the Signature box to insert your weather widget, first hover over "Profile" where it says:  Home  Forum  Help  Search Profile ... under the main heading.  Then click on the Forum Profile and scroll down on the page that loads and you will see the Signature Box.  Then paste the coding that Rammel provided into that box after your name if you have your name shown.  Then click on Change Profile and you should be in business.

Mary we are very close to the sea yet cant see it from our home, only if you are half way up, or down the narrow drive you get the view to the left.......although we can drive up high to the clifftop car park area and viewing spot.....It is only a short drive to the seas esplanade or promenade not sure which word it is, think both mean the same..... ;D I have some more photos of one day last week we took the dogs there, the views are fantastic....

MaryTX, I could not get in earlier this morning.  This would have been 8:30 to 9 am EDT.  I did other things and watched TV and tried about 10:30 and was able to get in.

Jackie, what County/Shire are you in now.  I understand you moved quite a distance.  I think it was nice of R to make the move for you.

Mary Ann

Good Wednesday morning, Everyfriend.  There's your choice of hot or cold cereal and a fruit to accompany your coffee or tea. I wish everyone a good day!!

CHUCKLES
Training
Our reserve chaplains unit was training with a Navy landing-craft unit at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center pier at the same time a Navy divers unit was embarking for a mission in Lake Michigan.

Just before the divers' boat left, six of us chaplains walked up the plank and boarded. A startled diver looked up and asked a buddy, "What kind of a mission did they say they're sending us on today?"

Food For Thought

"Do One "Future Thing"
By Bob Perks

I always tell you to live in the present. You can't do anything about the past. We aren't promised tomorrow. Still because of my present life I have come to believe there is something of great value in doing at least one thing each day for the future.

Sometimes the present is so dark and dim that we can't believe in better days ahead. There's no reason to go on.

So, I suggest that, like I am trying to do, force yourself to do at least one "Future Thing" each day.

Doing so breaks the grip of depression ever so slightly that the small light of tomorrow will appear like a beacon.

One Future Thing confirms that you believe this isn't the end.
Please. "One Future Thing"

I was asked after posting this today what one "Future Thing" did I do?
I hung new curtains in my bedroom.  Well, not new just different ones I had in the attic.  Making such a change said to me that I really didn't want it all to end today.  Why would I change the curtains?

MaryAnn, we moved 152 miles from South East to the South West...we are now in Dorset between Weymouth and Dorchester....guess nearer to Weymouth the holiday spot.....

Joy

Jackie, I am so happy for you.,   It looks like a beautiful area and so nice that it isn't far to take the dogs to, what looks like a nice park/area for them to be able to run around.  Were you able to use your walker.  Might be a little difficult on the grassy areas, but looks like a nice parking area that is smooth.  I think the peacefulness of where you are living now will really help your outlook on all your health issues.  It always help your spirit to be living in a place that you like.  I hope things will continue to go well with "R".  Does he seem as happy with the new place as you do????

Yes, the site was down for a while this morning.  Kind of scared me as I thought :  Oh! No!  not again.  But, thankfully everything looks like it is back to normal.

Joan,  since it is a little late for breakfast now, I will just have some of the fruit.  Doesn't really matter what kind... Love all kinds of fruit.
Thanks !

Have a great day !

Joy
