Good morning, Joan and all the other friends.

Since you provided a choice of hot or cold cereal this morning, I will fix some cream of wheat.  I never liked the consistency of oatmeal, but do like cream of wheat with all the different varieties they have now.   Thank you for the choices.

I am off to our local Ag Center that has a farmer's market/craft show  several Sat. during the holidays.  They also have it in the summer months also. I have several friends who have stands there, so it will be nice to catch up with them and get some goodies, also.  Lots of home-made bakery and food items, plus a lot of nice hand-made crafts. I can always find something different.

My daughter-in-law, her sister and niece will pick me up about 9:30, so I need to get moving.  It takes me twice as long to get ready now, as it used to.  Don't move too quickly anymore, and have to rest in between my shower and getting dressed.  So frustrating at times.  But, I still try to keep putting one foot in front of the other.  That was a favorite saying from one of the friends from the old Senior Net,  Sylvia.  And, I still try to remember to do that.

For some of you that knew Bobbie Gould,  you might want to keep her in your thoughts, as she lost her son this week.  He had been sick for a while.  I do still keep in touch with her.  She is a special lady and has some health issues herself.  So, I know she would appreciate your thinking of her at this sad time.  She is living with her daughter now.

Have a great day.

Good morning, Joy.  To tell you the truth, I don't really care for any hot cereal.  The farmer's market/craft show sounds like fun and nice to be with family.  I certainly will say prayers for Bobby Gould.  May her son rest in peace.  I had heard that Bobby, herself, was not well.  It's a blessing she is now living with her daughter.

Hi everyone on another bright, sunny and cold Saturday morning.  When I got up this morning it was down to 28 degrees and we will see only the mid-40's today but we have no wind so that shouldn't be uncomfortable.  Yesterday I wore my leather coat for the first time since last winter and it felt great.  The calendar is clear today.  I do think Pat and I will go out to eat later today so she can get out of the house for a little bit.

Interesting comments on ways to deal with leg cramps.  Thankfully it has been quite awhile since I experienced one.

Callie, I bet no one will complain with the Chocolates instead of the cookies.

Patricia, those were big "round toits".  The couple I have gotten over the years probably weren't more than an inch or so across and thin.

deAngel, did you ask the trainer if there was another choice as those he offered don't sound all that desirable.  My wife has suffered with dry eyes for years and uses drops and a lubricant at night.  I keep telling her that her maintenance cost is really getting out of control.  She isn't amused.

Mycheal, I don't think I knew of the remedy of taking a Tums for leg cramps.

Shirley, that is a lot of radiation your neighbor will experience these next five weeks.  It is good that she has a positive attitude as that helps so much.  Also shocking news about your friend with the dementia.  He will probably appreciate the Christmas cards as it sounds like he would be able to recall the classmates since that was in the past.

JaneS, can you purchase rock displays?  That trip to the geology department at Bucknell sounds like it would be very interesting and certainly something out of the ordinary.

Joy, certainly sorry to learn that another friend  has lost a child.  It is something we never get over although we have to go on with our lives.

JoanFL

Good morning, Larry.  It's chilly here, but not nearly as cold as where you are.  I never heard of Tums for leg cramps either.  I imagine you'll be watching football some today.

Good morning everyone, it is a brr one here. The sun is shining but not doing much to warm up and there is still frost on the cars.  21°, of course with the wind it feels colder. Just heard on TV that is feels like 13°. A day for geemogotchees for sure.
On Wednesday and yesterday I had a different CNA here. The one I usually have is out with the flu. She should be here Monday. I told her boss when she called me I told her she better be over it when she comes back. I have enough health problems without getting even a cold.

JOAN  58° would feel good here today. Glad I do not have to go out.

LARRY  the stool I bought would be the right height to work at the counters but no place for my knees. The cabinets are straight down, no over hang to work on. There are a lot of us shorties living here and we all have the same problem with the height of the counters and the sink in the bathroom. There is one lady and 3 men here that are tall and they are fine with them. Several here say the same thing, must have been a tall man who designed this place who had no idea what a handicap person needs.

JUNE  at our ages we just take one day at a time and be glad to have today.

JANE  when I was young and living in Fall River, there was a lady on Main street with a little store and she had a machine to roast peanuts in the shell. You could smell it before you got there, we would bet a bag of them for 5¢ and they were so good. Had not thought of that in years.

JEANNE LEE  that cold floor is what I do with a leg/foot cramp and it does work. No carpeting in this apartment so easy to find a cold floor. That is the only thing that works for me.

CALLIE  seems like every time I baked something for a food sale or whatever it was a disaster. Making for family it was always the way it should be.

GLORIA de  when the heat is on in here the air gets dry. About time I set ssome water in containers near my plants so they get the moisture they need.

SHIRLEY  I know about having no appetite, I know I have to eat but after a few bites I am full.

JOAN  this is a morning for hot cereal. Thank you for today's goodies.

AMY  hope your roads are clear for Monday.

JOY  I remember Bobbie, I was lucky to meet her when she was in RI. Lovely lady.

Good morning, EVERYFRIEND.

We had a bit warmer day yesterday and will today as well, then the frigid air is coming again.  We did get out yesterday and it sure was good..... day after day of being home bound is not good.

I have read all the thoughts regarding leg cramps and took note of the many suggestions.  I find that I have leg cramps when I do not consume enough water....  just another thought.

Sad to read of the many friends that are dealing with cancer treatments, now the poor soul with the onset of dimentia.  Gee, I don't think I have ever heard of someone getting so bad so quickly.

I am sorry to read about Bobbie's son passing away.  It is always so hard to accept a child passing away, no matter what the age.  Special HUGS to all of you that have been in this situation.

LARRY, my sweet hubby made a comment to me not long ago about the cost of maintenance as well, and I can assure you, I, too, was not amused!  Oh my, we sure do get a lot of laughs around here with much that is going on.  One has to laugh.....the other option is not nearly as fun!

I wish you all a good day.

Good morning, Gloria.  I know 58° doesn't sound cold but living here, I think our blood thins, and it sure feels chilly.  Good thing your regular CNA had sense not to come when she was not well.

Amy--All I can say is BRRRR......

Jenny--Good morning.  I saw on the news how cold it's been out your way.  Glad you were able to get out yesterday.

Good Afternoon,  Folks!

Cold weather is here on the rocky coast of Maine...  but  'tis expected, since we are close to the middle of December..

All is well here.   I am just playing catch up on all the Series on Showtime that I have neglected through out the years,  when all of my attention was focused on Cable News Lies.

It is funny how peaceful I feel now that I can carefully choose what  headline "News"  I choose to investigate.
I don't miss all the blah, blah, blah....

Live is good!

Good Afternoon dear friends, I am taking to day "off". Have so much mail to take care of, so hoping I will get "toit" today. Did go down for a leg check, and to have a re-newal on a prescription, but came home so tired I lay down and feel asleep again. So I am obeying the body for sure. No other choice.

We are having cloudy weather today, which I do not mind at all.

Sandy, it really pleases me to read that you can control your desire to "feel peaceful". That is a gift, girl. I am happy for you.

I am thinking of Hal...he was feeling "fluey" and not been in that I have seen, for two days now.

I have heated up some soup for lunch, and it is now 2 p.m. so I think I had better go eat "lunch'.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

I have most of my shopping done now, thanks in part to Cathy for driving me around while she did some looking and buying.  And thanks in part to the internet and my new friend at Bucknell University.  I found the item that she suggested for Kiran and I bought 2 of them so Mommy or Daddy can accompany her on her rock hunts.  Maybe even Grammy could go once or twice.  Now I need a few neat rocks.  Maybe I'll take a ride in the country.

I was beat when we got home but I got what I needed and I don't have to go there again.  Thank goodness for that.  I'm only about half the shopper I used to be.  Wonder where the other half went?  I'm appreciating the internet this year.

The doggies are telling me it's supper time and my stomach is beginning to think they are right.  After supper, it's pajamas and a movie....and maybe a few zzzs!

I have to take cookies for coffee hour tomorrow.  I hope I don't forget.  I made them and they turned out great.  Sorry, Callie!

June--Only you know when you need to rest/nap.

Sandy--At least you know what keeps you calm.

Janie--I am sure it's a good feeling to know your shopping is nearly done.  Hope you can find some rocks.  You were on the go today so deserve some ZZZs.

Janie, if you have a river nearby or a BIG lake you would find some water washed rocks there..or search the net. I am so glad you inquired the Net and found a new friend at the University. I think Kiran will be thrilled to pieces.

Bis I spent a loooong time on the computer composing a Christmas letter that I will send out to friends that have no computers, so it is rest time again.

Sandy, I am so happy for you that you have found the route to peace in your life. You are a wise lady.

Thanks for the suggestions, June but I already asked the professor about visiting the river bank and she said  while we'd find lots of rocks there, they've been washed smooth and that removes most of the character from them.  She is going to give me a list of places to go nearby that have rocks with character including some with fossils but I won't have a chance to visit them before her birthday next Sunday.  Maybe in time for Christmas.  We do have mountains not so far away and there are sure to be some rocks to pick up there.  I just want her to have a couple to actually look at with her lens.  I'll find something.  I'm almost as excited about this gift as I'm sure she will be.

I just went in the corner of my kitchen where my toaster sits and found a brand, spanking new one sitting there.  It seems the kids conspired to buy it for me and Craig (alias Santa) came over and put it in place while Cathy and I were shopping.  Mine was on it's last legs and either didn't toast at all or burnt the heck out of whatever I put in there.  I think they love their Mama!

Yea, JANIE got a new toaster!  How nice to get something you need...that is fantastic!

Just got done watching a cute movie...Secret Life of Pets.  Kind of nice to watch a light and funny movie.

Hope EVERYFRIEND has a wonderful night.  Sleep well.

Janie, I can picture the two of you rock hunting, and both of you excited and interested. Wonderful. Of course your kids love you dear, how could they not.

Jenny, We do see wonderous things on our computers, and the little animals are always a big treat.  Have a good night Jenny.

It is time to close down the computer and get ready for bed. A busy Sunday morning coming up. God Bless you all. Have a good night and a happy tomorrow. Hugs, Love and prayers. June
