Hi everyone on a cloudy with according to what the radar shows rain on the way for today and definitely for tomorrow.  I did get to the County Courthouse yesterday morning and filed the documents needed for the Homestead Exemptions so that item is off my list of things needing to be done at this time.  The rest of the day I watched the Inaugural activities. I enjoyed watching his young son, who didn't seem to be very impressed with everything, and the littlest grandson who, at the signing of documents, was obviously very tired and wanted to go home.  The little girl also wanted to play with the pens, which I thought was cute.  I have nothing planned for today so will be able to just rest.

Gloria, Dairy Queen seemed to sort of go down hill a few years ago but now they are beginning to build new ones.  There is another one opening in a part of Augusta plus they already have one in a suburb of Augusta.  Glad you are getting your Schwan's delivery when you want it.  I wonder how many teachers were encouraging their students to walk out yesterday.

Callie, thanks for the info on Miss Ellen's appearance on the show.

June, you sure don't need another leg problem.   That was a beautiful outfit the new First Lady was wearing.  I am sure money is no object when she picks clothing.  At least for now Scott's daughter is going to be permanent but with her one never knows.  It was very easy driving yesterday as all but 8 miles of the way was on Interstate 20 and the other was like a little traveled country highway.  Like you I don't intend to give up what I need to do as long as I can do it.

Joan, I hope the pain killers are giving you moments of comfort from the soreness and pain.

Sandy, I was noting last evening that it was still daylight at around 6 pm so the daylight is lasting longer each day and most welcome.  I hope my comments about yesterday are not political but just observations about the people.

Thanks for your concern and that expressed by others.

Patricia, I sure hope you were able to stand that "heat wave" you experienced.  Your forecast sounds like winter is trying to make up for the years you didn't get much cold weather or snow.

Lloyd, glad you got home and now rest up before tackling any big jobs.

Gloria

Good morning, another dark gloomy morning here,  the sun sure is taking a vacation  from this area.

JOAN  glad your fall did not result in any thing more that hurting and bruises, if could have been much worse.

CALLIE  if you ever learn when the program with Ellen getting her ears pierced let us know so we can watch.

JUNE  I liked the speech President Trump said. I just hope he can do all that. Time will tell.

SHIRLEY  I am with you. All those demonstrations are started by troublemakers.

LLOYD  glad you are home. Now take care of yourself and stop working so hard.

JOAN  point taken. Breakfast sound great this morning, both things I enjoy. Thank you for today's goodies.

AMY  always laundry to do. Like cooking and cleaning it will always be there.

LARRY  it was on local news that any teachers encouraging or walking out with the students would have actions taken against them. They also asked parents to discourage the kids from walking out.

Good Morning Everyone!

Sun out shining brightly this morning and will warm up to temps that are springtime.  Weather guessers say Sunday is going to be warm but very windy, with gust over 40 MPH.

Larry, I got so blasted aggravated yesterday while "trying" to watch the parade, I wanted to hear the bands and they wouldn't shut up talking.  I switched over the CSpan but the picture was lousy, no HD, just SD.  When they shut up I would switch back to the regular channel and I did enjoy the music.  I'll bet everyone was worn to a frazzle.

My twin Gr Grandson are having birthday party this morning, but I am staying home.  It is at one of the party places and I have no desire to just eat pizza and sit in a booth while they run all over the place.  I know I will NOT be missed and the gift will be there, the important thing.

Gloria, wont comment on your comments.  Go over to politics for my comments.

Everyone have a great day.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone....

Nice day today ... the weather is warm and dry and there is on HUGE GIGANTOIC  PARADE  going by out side my
Windows to the World here in the Arts District of Portland Maine.

This is the biggest parade that I have ever seen in Portland,  and I have seen some really big parades!

All is well in this world...

Sandy

Lloyd--Can you get a tester at the drug store?

Larry--Good that you can just rest today.  My soreness is not as bad today.  Here they say our temp will drop 15° before tomorrow and then there's a 90% chance of rain.

Gloria--Today it is sunny here.  I know I could have broken some bones when I fell, but thank God I didn't.

halkel--Sounds like your weather is going to be the opposite of ours tomorrow.

Sandy--Nice that you can view the parade from your windows.

Janie--I haven't heard from her.  The last time she posted in the SS last fall she was preparing for stomach surgery.

Good Afternoon,

If I hadn't kept reading "just one more chapter" last night, I might have gotten up much earlier this morning!

Joan,  I hope your "owies" are getting better.  Didn't realize you had injured yourself so badly until I read your more recent posts.

Sandy,  love your comments on what you see from your "window on the world"!

Lloyd,  I think any pharmacy will have testers and everything that goes with them.  Glad you're home.....now Behave Yourself!    ;D

Gloria,  I just found the schedule on-line for the Rachael shows this coming week.  Nothing was said about ear piercing.  There was also a form to fill out if you were interested in that and/or other "makeovers" used on the show.  Makes me wonder if her segment could be placed in a file - and never used.

Rather gloomy weather today - rain predicted for later on and overnight.   I hated to read about the tornado in Mississippi.  That may mean an earlier and longer tornado season for Oklahoma.  <sigh>

The envelope from my accountant containing tax information is glaring at me - probably because I keep stuffing it with 1099's and other things I'll need to fill in the blanks.  I suppose I should "lighten the load".  <double sigh>

Hope Everybody Everywhere is having an Enjoyable Day.

Dear Ones, it seems like it has been a very busy morning. Started with a wakeup call with my thyroid medication, followed by a delivered breakfast, followed later by more meds. A shower, a trip downstairs for a clean leg bandage, another trip downstairs, as I forgot to get something for constipation. Honest…after all the diarrhea we have all been treated for, I felt like a fool, asking for help for constipation. But we do what is needed.

Larry, you are correct, in doing what you are able to do when you want to do it. If we all live long enough we may not have that choice, so why quit ahead of time. What age is your Grandaughter Larry ? It would be so easy to take advantage of her father after all the years of separation. He is still the father, and must use the word "NO" when it is called for. I hope I am not sticking my nose in where it does  not belong, but you and your wife are so kind hearted, I do not want you hurt.

Hal, I would have enjoyed the parade more also if they had quit the chatter and let us hear the music. I am a Fox news fan ordinarily, but disappointed in their talking.

We are having a beautiful sun shiny day, so I think that calls for a walk outside, and a return of a book to our library. It is such a treat to have the freedom back again. We received a lovely letter of apology from the administration for an inconvenience we have had, and a thank you for our patience. Very gracious of them in my estimation, as they have gone the long mile in keeping us fed and comfortable.

Off I go to walk. See you all a bit later. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

JoanFL

Callie--I dread getting all the stuff together for my income taxes.  I hope we get to see the segment of the Rachel show that Miss Ellen is on.  I really did a number on myself when I got tangled up and fell.

June--The certainly take good care of you who live at Rowntree.  I am sure the staff will be glad when the current "epidemic" is over.

It has been stormy and raining in Arizona - the flowers will bloom in the desert later.  Don is listening to classical music because (and doesn't this sound strange?) with his hearing problem, the classical music is easier for him to understand.  That and his favorite songs that he played when he had the trumpet.

Jane:  I hope Bethany is feeling better now.  We do go through the self-serve part at Wally Mart but too often there is a glitch and someone has to help.  Slows us down.  :)

Amy:  I have quilt by your name so trying to think of what I was going to say.  I re-checked my blocks for a quilt and found I had mislabeled one stack so thankful to find that mistake before beginning.  It will have to be sewn on an angle beginning at top right and that will be a new thing for me.  Wish me luck.  Hoping you and hubby are doing well.

Joan:  Sorry about your fall.  That is such a scare.  Thanks for all you do here - I have a lot of thoughts about the future of this country and pray for everyone to have patience and compassion when thinking of our future.

Lloyd:  Very glad that you do not have a blood clot in your let.  Best to you!

Our daughter has taught her dog to chase away the geese - in Colorado.  The geese are beautiful but they leave droppings right on the open space walkway - the dog (Coco) scares the birds away then returns instantly for a cookie.  Bribery gets you anywhere.

Listening to an audio book from the library - a Maeve Binchy Irish tale.  Love the Irish lilt.

Joan, I know it will take a few days for your hurts to go away.  You are lucky that nothing broke.

I've been busy reading the news on the computer.  A few months ago, I bought a laptop with Windows 10 and while I don't use a lot of W-10 features, I do like their news.  Actually what I read most are Opinions.  Right now most of the opinions are about Trump, pro and con.  But they have a lot of human interest stories that always interest me.

Joan's temperature showed 81 F a few minutes ago and ours is 57 F which is unheard of for mid-January.  No sun though.

I'm trying to gather my tax info too but I'll have to print some of them out because I opted for that method - e-mail instead of snail mail.

While we've warmed up a bit, Lake Michigan is still frozen near shore.  People are walking out on the ice, too far out on the ice to suit me, but I haven't heard of any rescues taking place.

Carol--It's good that Don enjoys classical music if that's what he hears best with his hearing problem.  I've never fallen before, but now I am going to fear doing it again.

Mary Ann--I sure am very lucky that no bones were broken.  Our temperature is supposed to plummet tomorrow.

Well I am up and about a tad earlier than usual, before 5.am...

JOAN....
....all it takes is that one fall to put the frighteners on us, I know that too well, been there done that...my illness is prone to falls, touch wood, haven't had one since I spilled my bowl of porridge...My main fear is that I will go down, bang my head, and knock myself out...

I know " Witch Hazel " is an old fashioned remedy of bringing out bruises, but I guess by now, yours are already out...Hope today your body is feeling less bruised and sore...
