Phyllis,  indeed sad news about your brother. Please accept my condolences.

Vanilla-Jackie

PHYLLIS....
...so sorry to read you never had the 3-6 months you were told to expect with your brother...it is sure a cruel world when he is taken from you just one month later....sending...

Lindancer

Good morning again, sun shinning. I went to bed at 6 and got up at 8:30I will not be doing to much to day so here I am.

Phyllis, so sorry to read about your brother passing. My prays are with you and family.

Gloria, our last dog was a Great Dane, we had her for 12 years. We had to have her put to sleep, as her back legs gave out. If you set on the couch, she backed up and set with you, her two front feet would be on the floor.

Larry, yes Taffy is hanging on me, when I went back to bed this morning, I woke up to her sleeping on my legs.

Larry--Sounds like you had a bit of confusion getting Pat's breakfast fixed today.  I still think you are becoming a good cook.

Phyllis--Please accept my condolences on the death of your brother, Jack.  I know it's difficult for you.

Gloria--Does your CNA do some cooking for you?

deAngel--Good that you were able to sleep so long.  Taffy is sure a good companion for you.

Hello again. I'm on my iPad and Kiran is on the computer. I wanted to tell Phyllis how sorry I am about jack. Even when we don't see our siblings or close cousins often. We miss them them when they are gone.

I also need to ask for your prayers for my grandniece, Bethany. She is in the hospital with a urinary tract infection and a very high fever (spikes to 104 and once to 105. They have ruled out a kidney infection (thank you God) but still have not determined the cause. She is 16 years old and a real sweetheart. I know God will hear all prayers on her behalf. Please pray! Thank you!

Janie--I will add prayers for Bethany.

Wishing you a VERY Happy Birthday dear Tisie. Any parties in the offing ? I can picture the kitties meowing you a Birthday song.

Gloria de, it is this darn circulation problem that can cause so many disturbances in our bodies. We need the oxygen that the blood carries through our veins, and when there is a blockage in the veins, there is not enough oxygen to help in the healing. My leg gets very painful too, so I have to use a medication for pain plus all the other meds that are recommended for our various ills. But, it keeps us going, so I should not complain.

Gramma Janie, have a fun day with your dear Kiran.

Hal, I loved your kitties singing Happy Birthday to our Tisie. They fit right in with her life style.

Larry, we get excellent care here, and I never cease to be thankful. They have been plying us with Gator Ade.. it supposedly supplies you with the triglycerides ???? one loses with this ailment. Proper meals are delivered to our door, so though I am incarcerated for another day, it is not unpleasant.

Phyllis, I can share in your feeling of loneliness. I too am the only one left in my birth family..some cousins up north that I don't really now, and the cousins I did know are now all deceased. But we go forward to live for those in our present family, right ? Hugs, girl.

Gloria, your Governor is not alone in her dislike of Trump. He is a different personality from some of our past presidents for sure. But I think many of us are hoping for a renewal of our United States through him. God is still in Charge, so I don't feel concern.

Gloria de, I am happy that you got a few hours of sleep. Every little bit helps, and sleep is so healing. I wish you could have some of  the TLC they give us here.

Janie, I am so sorry that your Bethany is suffering from this infection. It can be very painful, plus a dangerous type of infection. I pray God is watching over her, healing her, and loving this young girl that he created before she was born.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

June Drabek

Excuse me. I need to make a correction in one of my statements. I was talking about Gatorade and used the terminology "triglycerides".  the proper word is electrolyte. I am a DUH..but then..when the lion went roaring through the jungle saying, "I AM KING OF THE JUNGLE !" The little monkey looked down from the branches and said, "Well I been sick !" ::)
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Mary Ann

Phyllis, I am sorry to read about your brother.  I know what you mean about being the only one left.  Of course, in Norm's and my case, there were only the two of us anyway.

Joan, on my screen, the last sentence of the  poem was lost but I am sure it ended with "grow".

Hal, I have a P1102W HP printer, HP Pavilion Notebook.  I went to Devices and Printers to see what I could do and was interrupted while we went to help Annie celebrate her 21st birthday and I came back to find this still waiting for me.

It seems we may be on the north edge of any ice storm, but I'm not sure.  Tom thought our sidewalk seemed a bit icy so I went to the car through the garage, but driving as a whole was OK (says me, the passenger).

I was gone for nearly two hours so had a few messages to read.

Jane, I am sorry to hear about Bethany and I hope she recovers soon.

Shirley, I am not sure if I wished you a Happy Birthday elsewhere, so if this is a duplicate, it's much better than if I missed it entirely.  I wish I could send you the greeting I had for Annie last year - Kendrick is sitting on top of chair back and I made up a note that read "Happy Birthday, Mother.  Love, Kendrick" (he is really Annie's cat).

Mary Ann

Lloyd Hammond

GloriaI did not take your advice soon enough,as I am in hospital. with two infections  one on the skin on rt lower leg the other infections in blood .
don't hit me again i will try to do better. Have a great day.

Lloyd

Mary Ann

Lloyd, I don't know what we're going to do with you - if you're not in the hospital with two infections, you're there because you overdid something on your heavy equipment and hurt yourself.

All I can say is "GET WELL QUICK!"

Mary Ann

JoanFL

June--They sure do take excellent care of you there at Rowntree.

Mary Ann--Somehow the word "grow" got left off my original--sorry about that.

Lloyd--I am  so sorry to read you are in the hospital with two infections.  I pray the medical personnel will get them under control.

LLOYD HAMMOND....
...I wish you didn't have such a fascination with hospitals..... :o
...how are we ever going to keep you away from them?......

CallieOK

Phyllis,  my condolences on the death of your brother.

JaneS,  prayers and good thoughts going out for Bethany.  She is very young to be dealing that kind of infection.

Lloyd -   :shakehead:   In the hospital....again?    :dontknow: to do with you!
Seriously - I do hope the infections will be taken care of ASAP.

angelface555

Phyllis, I was so sorry to read about your brother Jack. I know you had mentioned him a number of times but it always comes at a shock doesn't it?

Janie, I was also sorry to read about Bethany. I sincerely hope she has good doctors who are able to think outside the box and good medical care in and out of the hospital.

Lloyd, All of this medical bits and pieces are trying to tell you something, aren't they?

Larry, I need someone of your caliber to make my meals ahead! Think Pat can spare you for a daily morning quick trip?

Farrah has a rub down morning expectation similar to Hal's lady. She will stretch out on her side after sticking her butt in the air and stretching her morning kinks out. When she is fully stretched out on her side and looking at you as if you missed an obivously clue, you approach, bend down and with your hand spread, you rub up and down her side. You place your right hand's thumb against her stomach and the remaning fingers against her back. Then you press in just firm enough and swipe your hand back and forth. After spending a few moments at this, you are then free to go and get your first cup of coffee.

Gloria de. Taffy is showing she missed you and wants to keep a better eye and paw on you!

Good afternoon to everyone I've missed.

JaneS

Just had a text from Bridget (that's Bethany's older sister.  These are the kids that used to visit me every summer for a couple weeks.  Bridget says that the Drs have not found a sign of infection in Bethany's kidneys nor has it gotten into her bloodstream.  Thanks be to God!  She has a Urinary Tract infection and they are dealing with that with very strong antibiotics.  These kids are very special to me a is their mother.  And my sister is very worried while she is still caring for my brother who is improving from his bout.  It's been a bad winter for this family and I hope the rest of the year gives them some relief.  Please pray for recovery for Bethany while she fights this infection.  And for her parents and grandparents, too.

I've had a lovely  (and tiring day) with Kiran.  We did a lot of things together and I missed my nap this afternoon.  So I think I'll go to bed early and get a good start tomorrow.  Thanks to all who prayed for Bethany.  Good night Everyfriend and may God bless us, every one!

Mary Ann

JaneS, it is hard when bad illnesses hit one family.  I hope your family will soon be well.

Patricia, Kendrick is much like Farrah in that he likes that morning rub.  He usually comes in my bedroom to help me make the bed (also helps me unmake it at night), does his stretch, the goes on his side so I can massage him.  I do that a few times, then tell him "I'll be back" and I get ready for the day.  Sometimes he is still on my bed but not always.

Mary Ann

angelface555

MaryAnn, Kendrick and Farrah are much alike it seems!

June Drabek

I think, I hope, I am on the mend. I had 24 hours of problems, and now fine since noon today.

Jane, I am very thankful to hear that Bethany has no kidney infection. The urinary tract can be painful all by itself, she didn't need additional problems.

I am going to get ready for an early bed, so I can enjoy a full day tomorrow. Have a good night my dear ones. Do keep well and happy. I send you Prayers, Hugs and Love. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Shirley

Thank you for the birthday greetings, Joan, GloriaD, Joy, Janie, Amy, Jackie, Phyllis, oh, Hal, what a hoot! Thank you, Callie, Larry, Gloria, Mary Ann (funny note from Kendrick) & June. It has been a special birthday starting with the oldest grandson inviting me out for breakfast since he had the day off to take care of his 6 year old (school out for the holiday).  When I arrived at the breakfast place my son & wife and their daughter & her 2 month old joined us.

GloriaD, "if you set on the couch, she backed up and set with you, her two front feet would be on the floor", that is exactly what my son's Great Dane does & I couldn't believe my eyes first time I saw him do it.

Phyllis, I am so sorry to read about Jack's passing. It is a lot further for you to get back here to visit than what I have to drive (to MO) to visit my siblings.  It doesn't matter how long since we have seen them, the fact that we know we can't ever see them again leaves a big empty hole in our heart.  Hugs to you.

Jane, since I started this about noon you already had better news about Bethany, will still include her in my prayers, and hope 2017 is a better year for all of them, including you!

I have an eye appointment in the morning so better get to bed, it has been a long day (no nap) and my eyes are bleary.  This is my 3rd visit with this opthamologist & I'm not going to do the eye exam for glasses this year.  He's done it twice & the glasses are not fitting too good.  I can wear them for highway driving but have to take them off to walk or talk. They are too strong, the ones I had from more than 30 years ago fit better & I have been wearing them more than the new ones.  I've had lots of glasses since but none fit as well as those with the big old frames, but they don't do as well on the highway.  None of the doctors (or glasses) work as well as ones from the doctor that retired back in 1985.

Oh, NO, Lloyd.... another hospital stay!!! Do hope you get to go home soon.  You need a good rest to let your body heal and build up your immune system.  Prayers for you, too.

This has been an all day message so hate to see how long it will be.
Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes.... it has been a good year and a great day!

JoanFL

Good Tuesday morning, Everyfriend.   There's Cinnabons to accompany your coffee or tea. I wish everyone a great day!!

CHUCKLES

He Who Is Without Sin

Jesus saw a crowd chasing down a woman to stone her and approached them. "What's going on here, anyway?" he asked.

"This woman was found committing adultery, and the law says we should stone her!" one of the crowd responded.

"Wait," yelled Jesus. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Suddenly, a stone was thrown from out of the sky, and knocked the woman on the side of her head.

"Aw, c'mon, Dad..." Jesus cried, "I'm trying to make a point here!"

Food For Thought

God NEVER Gives Up!
(by Max Lucado)

Throughout time, though God's people often forgot their God, God didn't forget them. He kept his word.

God didn't give up. He never gives up. When Joseph was dropped into a pit by his own brothers, God didn't give up.

When Moses said, "Here I am, send Aaron," God didn't give up.

When the delivered Israelites wanted Egyptian slavery instead of milk and honey, God didn't give up.

When Aaron was making a false god at the very moment Moses was with the true God, God didn't give up.

When only two of the ten spies thought the Creator was powerful enough to deliver the created, God didn't give up.

When Samson whispered to Delilah, when Saul roared after David, when David schemed against Uriah, God didn't give up.

When God's word lay forgotten and man's idols stood glistening, God didn't give up.

When the children of Israel were taken into captivity, God didn't give up.

He could have given up. He could have turned his back. He could have walked away from the wretched mess, but he didn't.

He didn't give up.

When he became flesh and was the victim of an assassination attempt before he was two years old, he didn't give up.

When the people from his own home town tried to push him over a cliff; he didn't give up.

When his brothers ridiculed him, he didn't give up.

When he was accused of blaspheming God by people who didn't fear God, he didn't give up.

When Peter worshiped him at the supper and cursed him at the fire, he didn't give up.

When people spat in his face, he didn't spit back. When the bystanders slapped him, he didn't slap them. When a whip ripped his sides, he didn't turn and command the awaiting angels to stuff that whip down that soldier's throat.

And when human hands fastened the divine hands to a cross with spikes, it wasn't the soldiers who held the hands of Jesus steady. It was God who held them steady. For those wounded hands were the same invisible hands that had carried the firepot and the torch two thousand years earlier. They were the same hands that had brought light into Abram's thick and dreadful darkness. They had come to do it again.

So, the next time doubt walks in, escort him out. Out to the hill. Out to Calvary. Out to the cross where, with holy blood, the hand that carried the flame wrote the promise, "God would give up his only son before he'd give up on you."

Good morning Joan, it is half past midnight here and I've just finished some PSP lessons and turned them in. A Cinnabon sounds interesting but probably wouldn't help me sleep!

Good morning, afternoon or evening to you Shirley when you arrive. I'm sorry to have missed your birthday but it sounds as if you enjoyed it even without my input!

It is minus fifteen here headed to a possible low of minus 26, but I'm warm and toasty and unfortunately wide awake.

I'm hoping that all who are healthy remain so and that all who are ailing, cease and get better, quick!

Have a great day, today.

Good morning Everyfriend!  Thank you again JOANIE for the goodies this morning.  I'm thinking about sending the inspirational reading to my sister because I think she is having trouble not giving up...

I'll be off to Wally World this morning.  Wish me smiles because the weather isn't going to smile.  The temps are just slightly above freezing and it's supposed to rain all day.

Make today a good one!

Good morning to all.  Joan, I saved your Thought of the Day to put on my long time friend's birthday card.  We have known each other close to 50 years. I'm 10 days older than she is so every year we search all year for the funniest old lady birthday card we can find to send each other.  I bought one for her before Christmas, a sweet one this year for the first time, and the card I received from her on Sat (mailed early because of the holiday)... was also sweet, but she had typed a separate list of all the reasons we were good friends to the end... you know, that one where we will be friends until all the body parts have failed.....   I'm going to turn the other cheek with your quote.  ;)

Amy, hope the freezing rain fizzles out like ours did.  I haven't heard of any damage right here but know other areas got hit hard.  I'm sure you don't need suggestions for bad weather driving, but we actually did use my own idea one time & it worked. We slipped off the road in snow/ice and I put the beach towels kept in the trunk  under the driving tires (right over the snow/ice... and really worked, just walked right out of that muck.  Need to keep a huge trash bag to save them in to wash when you get home.  Now I carry sheets or blankets to use under those wheels & expect them to work on anything except water, if mud is thick enough it should work for that.  Faster than waiting for a tow truck (even tho I do have "auto club").  Stay safe.  I've got to go wash my little car, it is so covered with the brine they use to treat the streets that I can't get in without getting dirty.

Thanks, Patricia, kind of glad we don't have your temps right now.  Last winter we didn't have enough cold weather to get rid of some of the bugs so had a bumper crop for the summer.  Don't think we have been cold long enough to do the job yet this year.  The ice on the pool hasn't gotten thick enough for the cats to play on. They like to chase leaves that blow in on the ice & worries me when it isn't hard enough all the way around. The thought of them under the ice scares me but they are happy in their freedom, hard choice for me.

Gloria, I'm so glad your computer is working now & hope it doesn't give you any more trouble.  Sure takes the joy out of the day when we can't come here or like you do, skype the "kid"..... Also hope the new Dr keeps finding ways to make your moving parts hurt less.

I'm tempted to crawl back in bed for more zzzzzzzzzs.... my eye appointment isn't until 10:00 & is across he street from the church I go to so know how long it will take to get there.  Trouble is, I'm hungry.  I forgot to eat lunch until late afternoon and nothing sounded good when it was supper time, so I ate salad & that doesn't stick to the ribs like meat & potatoes~~ Guess I'll go fix me an egg & of course, will have 3 hungry kitties parked in front of the furnace vent below the sink so I trip over them until they get fed first.  Have a great day, Everyfriend!

Good morning, Janie, along with prayers for your sister and you, I'll add to the prayer for "comfort from worrying", think we do worry more during the dark days of winter.  Hard to keep "up" when everyone we love has problems at the same time.  :hugs:

JoanFL

Good morning, Shirley.  Glad you can use the "Thought" on your friend's birthday card.  Hope you get more ZZZ's.

Good Morning Everyone!

Joanie thank you for the food for the soul and tummy.  You are quite the Mom to all of us.

I have an early doctors appointment this morning.  So I better get in and shave and get to stinking pretty or he may throw me out.

Oh, June's low (weather) is passing by and will be on up to visit Callie, Shirley and Lloyd.  Hope you don't get any really bad weather out of it.  The one that just passed left some baseball size hail just North and West of us.  Or could we call that Texas sleet.  We did get two inches of rain out of it.
