Good Sunday morning, Everyfriend.  There's a breakfast casserole to go with your coffee or tea.  I wish ALL a blessed day.

Thanks to Phyllis for her lovely “Epiphany” graphic creation which we are using this week.

The Banker

The banker had called the man in to talk about his account. "Your financial affairs are in a mess. Your wife constantly overdraws your account. She is behind in her charge accounts at the department store, and her check stubs are all added wrong. Why don't you talk to her about it?"

"Because," said the man, "I would rather argue with you than with her."

Food For Thought

Grace For Granted
(by John Coody)

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

Humanism is a life view that people, at their most basic natural levels, are good and can establish their own moral values and determine their own destiny apart from God or anyone else. The humanist view says that man is responsible only to leave the world a little better. Truth is counted as relative. Humanistic thought has influenced medical, environmental and political spheres. It has also birthed many societal ills such as abortion, euthanasia and the sexual revolution. The extreme humanist never realizes that there is no purpose or meaning in life apart from God or truth. They feel that they are absolutely sure that there are no absolutes.

The most horrifying factor in all of this is that our churches have been infiltrated with this type of thought. Grace is a wonderful gift of God. No man could be saved without it. However, the "I can do what I want, God will forgive me attitude" is just not Biblical. Paul warns in Galatians 5:13, "For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity to serve the flesh, but through love serve one another." We often take His grace for granted, and decide that our way, is better than His. Then, if our way doesn't work, we might turn to God.

We correct the problem by true repentance. This means change in our attitudes, ethics, actions, etc. II Chron. 2:17 says, "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." Brothers and sisters, are we in need of some healing this week? Let's stop just seeking God on Sunday morning, and truly repent and seek Him every day. There is a God. That's a fact. He is a God of mercy, grace and love. But let's not forget that He is also a God of justice and righteousness.

Amy

Good morning everyone.

Jane, prayers for your brother and you!

Heading to the city this morning, hubby wants a new pair of slippers and we may met up with son and daughter in love...we shall see how timing goes.

No snow to play in the morning

Did laundry and filled wood boxes yesterday so the job is done.

Better scoot and get ready.
Joan ,thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone..

Joy

Good Sunday morning, Joan, Jane and Amy.  Will enjoy the breakfast casserole this morning.

The sun is beginning to shine here after our little bit of snow yesterday.  My area in Central Maryland lucked out in the snow storm.  We only had a small amount for a short time.  The sun came out in the afternoon, but , oh, it is so cold.  It was 8º  when I first got on the computer this morning about 7:30.   I had to turn up the heat a little bit.  Feels good now.

Our family Christmas party was postponed yesterday, as many family members were sick and a lot of the family lived south of where  I live and they had a lot more snow than where I live.  My son has a bad cold, and my DIL had some sniffles, but she and I were still going to the party.  However, I was kind of glad that they postponed it until later in the month.  I was just glad not to have to go out in the cold.

Nothing special going on, except I am trying to condense some boxes of Christmas decorations that I don't use anymore and trying to sort out some clothes that I don't wear anymore.  Big job for me.  I have a lot of craft supplies that I don't expect to use anymore.  Want to make some room in my walk-in closet.  I also have about a dozen pair of shoes that I can't wear anymore, so will be getting rid of them.  We have several nice stores, similar to the Good Will, that are affiliated with different churches where they help out people who need help with their heating and living expenses.  So, that is where I plan to take my things that I am discarding.  It is a good cause as they do a lot for underprivileged children, also, during the holidays.

Joan, sure hope that you will get some of the rain down your way. I saw on the news yesterday, where the west coast  of Florida was getting a lot of rain.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Joy

JoanFL

Good morning, Amy.  Nice you don't have to dance with any snow removal equipment today.  It'd be nice if you had time to get together with your son and daughter-in-love.

Joy--Good morning.  I need to clean out my walk-in closet, too.  There's so much in there that I don't wear.  Best you postponed your family Christmas since roads are bad and folks have colds.  We got light rain yesterday for about an hour.  Not enough to really help our dry conditions.

Hi everyone.  When I arose this morning it was 22 degrees and that is cold for South Carolina.  The sky is clear and the sun is now coming up but it will only get up to maybe forty by mid-afternoon.  I expect today will be my typical Sunday with Sunday School and Church and then bringing home something for our main meal of the day.  I will be doing the Devotional in our Sunday School class again this morning.  The rest of the day will be for rest and watching football.

Joan, we had the remainder of that soup last night for dinner and it was just as good.

Gloria, so nice to read that you are able to stand straight and are feeling less pain.  Keep up the good work.

JaneS, I just stopped writing and prayed for Jim.

Joy, it sounds like wise heads prevailed to postpone the Christmas get together until everyone feels up to it and the roads are safer and it is a bit warmer.  It is nice to know that someone will benefit from the things we no longer need or can use.

CallieOK

Good Morning.   Sun is shining in central Oklahoma.

JaneS,  I add my prayers for Jim.

Gloria

Good morning everyone, have no idea how much snow we got yesterday but when I went to bed last night it was 18° and still snowing.  10°now according to the TV. Broke a record at the airport-near the shore-with 10 inches of snow. They seldom get much there but this was a coasytal storm. Looks like about 8 inches of white from up here. For a change it was a cold snow so no rain to make it turn to ice. Kept loosing internet and TV. It was windy and it was blowing the snow off wires and trees. Wonder what Cox will come up with a reason.

JOAN  hope you got more than sprinkles yesterday. With the colder temps and rain did you get your geemagotchees out? I sure had mine on.

JUNE  were they stewed prunes? My Mom used to make them but I never did. I am so glad I changed doctor. The hew one is who set up the appointment with this pain doctor. He did not rely on a machine to find out where the pain is. He did it with his hands by poking and prodding. When he hit where it hurt I yelped and he knew where to put the shots. My back will never be what it was but can feel better.

JANE  I have a 4 cuo coffee pot and get 2 mugs from it. Will add Jim to my prayers.

PHYLLIS  wonderful graphic for this week. You do beautiful creations. Thank you.

JOAN  The Banker, smart man  picking who to argue with. Grace for Granted. I have know a few who think they knew more than God. Not happy anymore. Thank you for all today's goodies.

JANE  isn't Jim the one that was so ill about a year or so ago? Our prayers helped then and will again.

AMY  we are the ones playing in snow today. Cannot blame Canada for sending this snow.

LARRY  I still have pain in other places in my back but not where he put the shots. Next ones will be along the spine. I can still stand straighter than I was. Wonder how long the shots will last.

CALLIE  sun is bright and beautiful here this morning.

Gloria, you are correct.  Jim is the one we prayed for about a year ago.  His condition flared up again.  I think it might not go away but he will have periods of good and bad.  This one is BAD!  Thanks to everyone for the prayers.

Hello world. -14 right now and snowing heavily

JoanFL

Good morning, Larry.  I think leftover soup tastes better than when it was first made.  Somehow the flavors tend to blend after it's been refrigerated.

Callie--Good morning.  The sun is shining here, too, but it's mighty chilly.

Gloria--Good morning.  Yes, I have my geemogotchees, wool socks, sweat shirt and winter robe out and the furnace is running.  The only rain we got was that little bit yesterday.  I sure am glad we don't get any white stuff.:)

Janie--I will continue to pray for Jim.

Good morning, Radioman.

Shirley

Jane, more prayers for Jim.... don't think God cares if I say them in church or going about my house, HE listens!

Earlier this week I managed to get the photo in the Gallery that we took the Sunday before Thanksgiving... of my whole clan, minus the youngest grand that didn't get back from KC in time for the photo opt.  Plus one of the other gr-daughters gave birth to a little boy the very next day.  Looks like a lot of people, anyone interested can go over to Photos Then & Now & check it out.  I haven't been there today to save a link.  I put names on each person to send e-mail to my family & 8x10 print for Cas' brother, so used the one with names to post.  Y'all have heard me talk about these "kids" & since they all do Facebook, don't think they care about me "facebooking" them in here.   ;)

Sun is shining bright but wind is really blowing so chill index is serious, almost like not having clothes on.

I woke up about 4:00 am & discovered I had not put my FitBit back on after my shower, but have 2 clocks in the room so knew it wasn't time to get up.  Lay there until 5:00 news & got up to feed cats & myself before dressing & wrapping up for church.  Only 2 ate before I left (I fried them an egg)... so when I got back all were waiting for breakfast.  The 2 that ate earlier pretended they were starved.... so 4 shared the rest of the egg and each had a heaping T-spoon of Chicken of the Sea salmon & all went outside to check the weather.  I will go let them back in when I get out of here.

Miss Callie has been coming in to eat some of her meals but I can't trust leaving her alone for fear she will feel the need to mark her territory.... she just goes back out to the garage & out into the sun if it is shining.  She is sleeping in her heated bed again, and cloudy-cold days will stay in it all day except to get out to eat, drink or use her litterbox.  She is such a sweet cat, wish she could just stay in with the others, be easier on me.

Today I will defrost the freezer downstairs.  Will need all the big coolers to store the stuff so it doesn't thaw, I do hate this job~~  >:(   But, I know how pleased I'll be when it is done so that makes up for one lousy day!

Have a great day where ever you are..... we don't get a second chance at it!  Shirley

JoanFL

Shirley--I saw the great picture of you lovely family.  I know you are proud of them all.  I have a freezer in my garage, but don't have to fuss with it because it's self-defrosting.

Well strange things can sure happen.....R was told a week or two ago from a friend on our site that his next door neighbour is looking after, and wanting to find a new home for a dog of the friend of his female partner, daughter of the mother who owns it, who is dying from cancer....and was I interested....who we sadly heard today that she has since died, just last week...Well today being the first day in almost a month I have ventured out for a downhill walk, I said to R I would love to find out the dogs breed and to take a look at it....Well would you believe, the only person outside his home was the man with the dog, the one and only younger man on our site that not too many people have seen as unlike the rest of us, he works....I couldn't believe my luck, so we went over to speak to him, had quite a lengthy chat....In a nutshell we will be having the dog in our home for the day next Saturday to see how things go....this dog is an 8 year old black male Shih Tzu....I asked many questions about the dog, as if we have him, I want it done on a legal type basis and all its medical history and insurance paperwork...Told the daughter of this 80 plus year old lady doesn't want the dog, she wanted him put down, our neighbour is now in full charge of the dog and just wants it to go to a good home....The home it has come from is from the " Sandbanks " region Poole, a very expensive place to live that only the wealthy rich live there....told this dog had been living in luxury, and that none of her family want it, just interested in her money.....just so sad...

June Drabek

Jane, prayers have been said for Jim. May God be with you both.

Gloria, Yup, stewed prunes. I'm still having them for breakfast and they are still working beautifully. I had a doctor use his fingers on my back and neck last time I was hospitalized and when he poke a certain area we both knew it was my neck. Now I am finding if slouch too much when using the walker, it is what is causing the problem. So I must stand straight and keep my weight on my feet rather than my arms and hands.

Don, are you still at home ? What is the departure date to see your beloved ???

I woke early today, plus having to walk the halls at midnight...but it helps. Had my good breakfast downstairs..that's getting to be a habit, but when I eat early I am not hungry for lunch. Had my bandage changed on the leg..I can actually see that the wound is starting to shrink in size. Thanks be to God !!!!!

Today my Grandson Ryan is being ordained to the Babtist Ministry. Following in his Dad's foot steps. My heart is full !

Time to get my gear in place for Chapel service at 10 a.m. It will be a treat to be back again. So I will see you all later.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good Morning Everyone!

I started to post well over two hours ago, but the wife said she was ready to leave for church, so I got in gear and away we went.

We had the founder of our church, the big church we call it, speaking this morning.  Our minister is home in bed with pneumonia.  Seems this stuff is really going around in our area.   Hope he bounces back and it doesn't drag out like it did with my wife and myself.

Janie, prayers have been/will be said for Jim and hopefully he will improve soon.

Anyhow, I have to get my clothes changed and into my everyday clothes.  Cold here today but again shun is shinning.  It is going up to close to 80 later on this week, no wonder people are sick and then next weekend, another dip in temp with possible rain.

June, hope you fair well with the storms moving into your area.  Sounds really serious storms will be developing.  Also good news about the sore spot on your leg.  Prayers will continue for you.

halkel--Our weather is to be similar to yours.  Today it is darned chilly with a strong wind.  Thanks for the link--sounds like a fierce storm.

When I posted last, I was just barely home from church and breakfast out with church friends.  I was changing my clothes when Cathy called and asked if I wanted to go to Kohl's and spend my Christmas gift card.  I did and I got ready and went over to her house (she's on the way) and we went shopping.  I didn't know what I was looking for but I bought a pair of shoes (marked down from $69. to $25.) and a pair of fleece jammies for $10. and 3 pairs of sox for $5.  Not bad and all things I need.

JUNE, so happy to hear that you leg is visibly healing.  Congrats to your grandson, Ryan.  What a blessing!

Thanks to everyone for the prayers for Jim.  I know they help.

Shirley, I know He listens whenever I pray but I was out to get a hundred or so more prayers for Jim.  I wanted to make sure he's on the prayer list at church so everyone there is praying for him daily.  We need all we can get.

Home from Church. I am ashamed to say I had a hard time staying awake during the speakers time to preach. Really needed some more zzzzzz...still do, but I have a two o'clock appt. with the head nurse downstairs. I need to go over the meds with her so I don't make an error when I take back doling out for myself. I felt especially bad when the young man that preached this morning gave me such a nice greeting after Church...he remembered me from last time he was here.

Janie, you got some excellent buys on your things today..especially the shoes..a great mark down. Yes Jane, I am so pleased about Ryan following in his fathers footsteps, so to speak. And now Ryans children will be raised in the Church and who knows...Zach or Jeremiah may grow up to be Pastors too.

Bis, I can only repeat what I said to our Janie about my Grandson. I am utterly thrilled.

Hal, thank you for the continued prayers, the leg does have a way to go yet. I had to have the scab taken off as you had mentioned earlier, and consequently it is healing from the inside out. Still have some pains, but that is bearable.

It will be a calm day here, with the exception of my confab with the nurse. Sunday is usually a quiet day. And tomorrow I will await a grocery delivery so that will keep me at home for four hours.

Jackie, I can think of no one that will give that doggy a happy loving home more than you and R will. The fact that both you and the dog are in the same area, seems like you were destined to be it's next family.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

The sun is still shining and the temperatures are actually getting to a comfortable level.

I've been to church and OTL - but there were only two of us today.  The wait staff was concerned; one of the girls told us they all look for us every Sunday.  (Guess we won't tell them we occasionally go somewhere else "just because" )
It was so nice to eat a good hamburger/fries instead of digging around to see what was still available in my pantry or freezer.

Miss Emily and her friend had quite an adventure getting to NYC to spend a few days with Miss Ellen.  They drove to Dallas Friday - just barely missing the heavy snow that moved in here,  spent the night with friend's grandparents and flew out yesterday morning on time for the non-stop flight to NYC. .

However, the flight was diverted to Nashville because of weather conditions back east and all subsequent flights yesterday were cancelled.  So they spent the night in a hotel near the airport.  Very traumatic for two girls who haven't traveled on their own.  Lots of texting back and forth with reassurances from parents and Gammy that they were handling things well, people were being helpful and all would be fine.

Fortunately, their very early morning flight out of Nashville was on time and they have safely arrived at the NYC hotel, where Ellen was to meet them.
The airline moved their departure date to Thursday instead of Wednesday and the hotel was willing to cancel Saturday night and book them for Wednesday night - all without any fees or extra charges.

I hope they have no more "challenges" and thoroughly enjoy their visit.  (Of course, I thought they were crazy to go in January instead of during college Spring Break but I'm just the grandmother;  what do I know?   ;D)

Jackie,  my son/dil had a Shih-Tzu mix that was a wonderful doggie pet.  Sounds as if you have found one, too.

Don,  wonderful that this time next week you will be with your beloved.

June, congratulations to your grandson.  I'm so happy that your wound is healing.    I've found that putting my elbows on my hip bones when I'm using my walker  reminds me not to bend forward .

JaneS,  hooray for your shopping trip to Kohl's.  Ya done good, Girlfriend!

Hal, we're also supposed to get up into the 70's this week - and now "they" are saying we'll probably have a real Ice Storm next weekend - maybe with thunder and lightning!  There was a technical explanation but I quit listening after "ice storm".   >:(

Shirley,  I'm  :-X  and  :sealedlips: to keep from making a sassy comment about you and that FitBit!  ;)

:hugs:  to those I didn't comment to - and those who have yet to post.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

June Drabek

Callie, that is exactly what I have found..elbows on hips, shoulders back, and I can also feel that it puts me back solidly on the soles of my feet, rather than putting a strain on my shoulders and neck. It make me happy to know that you found the same helpful posture.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Nothing new here, it's cold, I'm doing laundry and Farrah is sleeping.

I took a walk around the grounds, and it felt good to be out and about. Then decided to stop in for an early supper, not hungry, but managed to gorge down a cup of turkey rice soup, a small bowl of chili and beans, a chunk of cornbread and a glass of v-8 juice. Dragged my stuffed self back upstairs to put on night clothes, and lay down to read and relax. I have yet to prepare for my final go-around with the medicine ritual, and pick up the ones I do not have. Also need to balance that in with my grocery delivery time. All things seem to work out well in spite of my hazardous plans.

Hal, my son in Santa Cruz said they are getting more than enough rain but they have had this condition before and fortunately for them the run off is great. Our area is not scheduled for a big storm, but every drop is welcome.

I think I will close for tonight and go play with my laptop for a while. I don't want to lose what I have learned so far.

Have a peaceful night my dear, dear cyber family. I love you all so very much. God Bless you and keep you safe, and well, and Happy . June
