Well I have now been back a couple of hours, guess we were out for three......My appointment came dead on time...I had unloaded my bladder three times during the half hour inside the hospital, just a few minutes before I was called in, thankfully the one to do my scan had gone hospital AWOL, and her assistant kept me company while I whizzed down another bottle of water, so as to refill my bladder,......that wasn't a hard chore, I can tell you....Seems the womb thickness measurements have gone down since my last scan of a year ago, my ovaries again couldn't be located, ( I know that I do have a pair, ) but that isn't a problem I am told.....All that was mentioned was there was some " bulginess or bulkiness "didn't ask what that might mean....It was a very relaxed atmosphere, I was in a humorous mood given the reason I was attending this SCAN.....told as soon as I reach home to book an appointment for two weeks time with my GP to hear the test results, which I have already done but...not before I told her I am not sure I trust her,, as I should have been here seven weeks ago, only she " forgot " to send in my referral, putting me now seven weeks behind....

I got R to stop off at a pub half way so I could empty my bladder again, but once in he ordered a beer and I asked if they done coffees....then we were asked if we would like anything to eat.....The place was empty, apart from a group of 5 or 6 that asked for a table.....so as my stomach was now rumbling I ordered a doorstep thick sandwich of prawns with mayonnaise, it came with some plain crisps and a lovely fresh side salad that had the most tastiest dressing, I even asked the lady owner " what dressing they used " only to be told they make up their own.....During the short time we were there, I had used the loo three times.....

Almost forgot, while we were all siting in the small waiting room, dont know which room it had come from but, the most terrible sound of agonising pain and discomfort from an elder sounding man, whatever prodding or probing they were doing must have been unbearable for him, I have never heard someone calling out so much as he did....It was enough to make any one run out of the hospital main door, and back into there cars...

Gloria

Good morning everyone, looks like once again the AC will be working overtime. I don't mind as long as I am comfortable but the noise  is worse than the window ac I had. Maybe because it is closer to where the PC is.

HAL  around here the landscapers so have trucks with plows in the winter. At times they work long hours in the winter when we have big storms.

JEANNE LEE  There are a few here that get the Meals on Wheels. One of them got  2 one day and gave me the extra one. I could not eat it. It was supposed to be chicken in gravy and some vegetables. Well the chicken was pressed cubes and the whole thing was gray. Not for me. I am glad my CNA can go to the market for me. Then the son who comes every week end always calls and asks if I need anything.

LARRY  wish I could get peaches as fresh as the ones you are getting.

GLORIA de  of course I would save at least one lemon DD for you.

JUNE  when it rains or snows I can walk the hallways but that is not fresh air. They keep the walks clear in the winter but am leery of the rollator on the walk if there is a little snow or ice.

PATRICIA  Farrah looks quite comfortable there now. She reminds me of Beau.

MARY ANN  looks like you did not have a nice time so far this week. Hope once the packing is our you never have another nosebleed.

JACKIE  hope today's tests find something to help you.

LLOYD  no local  tomatoes here yet. With the weather  we had every thing seems later this year. Then we had those darn caterpillars that ate all the leaves on some trees. They did a number on my son's apple trees, all leaves gone. Now they are moths and going outside  they try landing in your hair. State waited too long to spray. This is the worse year I have seen for them

JOAN  breakfast this morning looks great. Love the chuckles. Wording or punctuation sure makes a difference in how things read. Thank you for all today's goodies.

AMY  wish you weren't so far from the doctors and hospital so you would not have to do all that driving. Never heard of peanut butter and tomato sandwich  but like PB and banana or PB and apple slices. Love BLT or even tomato and lettuce sandwiches. Those I could live on all summer or as long as I got some good native tomatoes.

JOAN  hope you make it out for your errands and home before it gets too hot.

PHYLLIS  a plain tomato and mayo sandwich would be yummy, too. Only trouble is getting some good bread anymore. Wish I could make my own again, there would be no preservatives then. I feel housebound, too. Seems like any time I go anywhere it is to a doctor or dentist.

Good  Morning all, sounds like you are all in your places with sunshiny faces and that surely is the way to start a new day.

Jackie, I'm glad your tests went well and I hope you will get good news on the results.

I will be going to Bible study at 10 o'clock, given by my son Gary. Always a big treat to me to have him here, and I understand my Dori, Gary's wife, will be performing one of her religious skits for all the residents of Rowntree Gardens on the 28th. I have never seen her preform before so this will be a special treat. We have another program to discuss current topics, and then a treat of rootbeer floats this afternoon. That will be my "day of entertainment". Hopefully, I will find and opening hour at home to write a much needed letter or two. My old friends are going to give up on me if I don't reply to their posts.

Now it is time for some breakfast and then on with the day.....see you all later. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

we haven't put the pin to it yet but we gave tax and all $31.6? for the 4 boxes of tomatoes. we got 34 quarts of tomatoes  and 4 quarts of juice, and 8 or 10 in the frig for slicing (B L T 's ) or what ever. main deal we know it is pure to eat. we also bought a bag of 4 dozen + ears of bodacious sweet corn for $20.00. going to put it in freezer except for the two we ate for lunch yesterday and the two we are going to eat now for dinner. it is pouring down rain now. as soon as the 4 quarts of juice is done cooking and we eat I am going to take a nap and relax watching a good western movie.

Subject: Live Lobsters

In a small fishing village, a Newfoundlander was walking up from the wharf carrying two - at least three-pound live lobsters - one in each hand.
It was three weeks after the season closed! Whom should he meet at the end of the wharf but the Federal Fisheries Officer who, upon viewing the live and wiggling lobsters, says: "Well me Laddie I got you this time - with two live lobsters three weeks after the season Closed!"
The Newfie says, "No - My Son you are wrong! These are two trained lobsters that I caught two weeks before the season ended."
The Fisheries Officer says, "Trained like how?"
"Well my son, each day I takes these two from my house down to the wharf and puts them in the water for a swim. While they swim I sits on the wharf and has me a smoke, or two. After about 15 minutes I whistles and up comes me two lobsters, and I takes them home!"
"Likely story", the Fisheries Officer says! "Lets take them on down the wharf and see if it's true."
So, the Newfie goes ahead of the Fisheries Officer to the end of the wharf where, under supervision, he gently lowers both lobsters into the water.
The Newfie sits on a wharf piling and lights up a smoke, then another!
After about 15 minutes the Fisheries Officer says to the Newfie, "How about whistling?"
The Newfie says "What For?"
The Fisheries Officer says, "To call in the Lobsters."
The Newfie says, "What Lobsters?"

I was gone much longer than I had expected.  After I did my errands, I decided to take some "me" time so two friends and I went out for breakfast.  I've read all the posts but no notes.  I'm soon heading for the couch.

Good afternoon, warm day, and very humid.  I have been a long time catching up on all the post.

Joan, those croissants very tempting. Also LOL st some of those sayings.

Jane, I have many red hats, this is my only white one.  It is a Grey Norman hat, that I bought at the US Open he was playing in.

Amy prays for your hubby, hope the test will soon be over. I know they are tireing. By the way I am eating a banana, peanut butter and mayo sandwich right now.  Never heard of the other.

Jackie, hope you got some answers.

June, yes I am very lucky to have Diana as my neighbor. she is the same age as Dennis would have been, so she is almost like a daughter.  When I was came home from the hospital the first time, ahe would not take no for and answer, when I said I would be alright alone at night, so she would come down at night and sleep on the couch, also came in for a while when I took a shower. The last time I was in the hospital, my DIL from Fla. came up to stay.  Now she is in Pensacola with her son, while he learns to walk again.

Maryann, be glad to hear from you when the packing is out, know it must be uncomfortable. Take care, prays also going your way.

Hello Everyfriend!  The last time I came in here it wouldn't let me post.  And I'm not getting "notifications" when someone posts on a board that I'm watching.

As you might be able to deduce, I'm home from work and I've had lunch and I've taken care of the doggies and I distinctly hear the sofa calling my name.  I think I'll go see what she wants.  Maybe I'll be back and maybe I won't.

Linedancer--It's very warm here, too.  You sure do have nice neighbors.  I continue to pray for your grandson.

Janie--So far I haven't had any trouble posting.  I don't use notifications so don't know how that works.

Amy--Glad the van's a/c is fixed.  That 102 y/o Dad must have good genes--still coming to work daily.

Well, I was off collecting zzzs on the sofa and then feeding the dogs and me and cleaning up the kitchen.  My Texas daughter and her Phila daughter are going to be staying with me while we all help my hometown daughter move this weekend.  They'll be here around noon tomorrow.  I told her I wasn't going to clean for her but I lied.  I still have to do the bathroom before I go to bed tonight.

I hope you all had a good day and are enjoying the evening.

Lloyd, I haven't even  but not enough of them to can.  The eating is good though.  You must be in a different growing zone....just a bit further south.  The corn is beginning here also and it's gooooood!

My day is drawing to a close. Only five o'clock , but I have been dozing for a while, and want to sleep some more. I should go down for supper, but just don't feel like socializing so I will fix something here at home. I really enjoyed hearing my son speak to us today, of course I would enjoy him if he didn't speak so well too....I just love him so much. But again, he didn't have time to stay and chat. He is one busy guy, for being a retired. His Church keeps him on his toes for sure.

Bis, I am glad you had some time out with your friends. We all need that, for sure.

Janie, you have sounding a bit down lately. I hope all is will with you and yours.

Jeanne Lee, you too are having to make adjustments in your life style. Giving up your car does take getting used to, but you are wise to know what you can do, and what you have to change. You strike me as a very strong minded woman, and I know you will make the changes when needed. Some things no one can do for us, we have to be tough.

Guess I had better to get to my little kitchenette and stir up something for supper.

As long as we are here, let's dance.

JaneS

June, you are very perceptive.  I am a little down lately but it will pass.  I'll work it all out.  I always do.  Thank you for caring.

I'm off to Dreamland so I'll say...

Good Night Everyfriend!  May God bless us, every one!

Janie, I will join you in saying goodnight to all our dear friends here. I took a long walk outside tonight...nice fresh air. Met some lonely people, and others that were busy doing their "thing". Had a lovely email from my Dori girl. She is so good to me, and for me.

I pray all of you will have a blessed night and a happy tomorrow. I send you the usual hugs, Love and Prayers, which is such a pleasure to do. June.

Well they say sleep on it and more will be clear come the morning, re yesterdays SCAN.....Told there are fibroid's, told her I know before she done the scan.....I asked her could the fibroid's be causing my bleed, she said no, I very much doubt it, although last year ( different hospital ) asking the same question, I was told yes they could be to do with it.....anyway this is now ruling fibroid's out as causing my year long bleed but, does and can rule in the bulkiness or bulginess, not sure which word she used....Which now leads to the age old question, what else could it be causing this bulkiness, if it isn't the fibroid's?.....Along with things I rambled off talking to her about, I forgot the most important questions of " can you see the bleed? can you tell where the bleed is coming from? and what could be causing the bulkiness?of course I wasn't thinking of the fibroid's.....Oh well, sure all will come out in the end, when I get to see my GP, and find out where we go from here.......

Hm, Hospitals, we dont want to live with them, and yet we cant live without them.....yet we want to be seeing the back of them....as the well known saying goes...." less is more..."

Talking of hospitals, still not had any letter written feedback from my fortnight or so ago, new MS Consultant meeting.....of course amongst other things he had recommended me " anxiety " pills,......yes just pop one down my throat and all problems will just go away....
................................................................
I know this is a question we have all been asking but,......what ever happened to Kelly?  :dontknow:

Good morning everyone..

Where is Joan??? I hope Joan, you slept in and your not having computer problems.

Woke to the sound of a gentle rain and of course the robins having a loud chorus outside my window. I was going to cut the grass today and weed the vegetable garden but I guess that is out for now, maybe tomorrow. I do hope it rains all day! Yesterday while in the city I heard they are having a volunteer water restriction ...we are lucky here as we are on a good well .

Jackie, I hope they give you some answers re: your problem.

Will put some hot biscuits and honey in the hidey hole for you to nibble on.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Moving Out Of State

After living in our house for four years we were moving out of state. My husband had backed the truck up to our garage door so we could start loading all of the boxes. Just then one of our neighbors came walking across the lawn, carrying a plate full of muffins. "Isn't that thoughtful," my husband said to me. "They must have realized we packed our kitchen stuff."

The neighbor stuck out his hand and boomed, "Welcome to the neighborhood!"

Today’s Prayer
Author Unknown

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23, NIV
Lord our God, we thank you for all you have done for us, for all you are doing for us, for deliverance from need and death. We thank you for all the signs you give us that you hear our prayer when, without wavering or weakening, we set our hopes on you. We thank you that we can be without fear of sin and death, for you stand by us in everything. In spite of our imperfections you show us your goodness again and again. May the light in our hearts never be extinguished, the light that enables us to look into heaven and earth and see the good that is on its way to us today. May joy remain with us, and may we have the strength to be a community that follows the paths of life which bring praise and honor to you.

Good morning everyone.
we went down to the Amish store and bought a bushel #2 peaches yesterday afternoon. that is what we are doing today is canning them . you all have a great day.

JaneS

Good Morning Everyfriend!  The ground could use the rain here but we, as a family, don't need it.  We are moving my daughter from one house in town to another across town and rain is the last thing we want.  However, Mother Nature seems to think otherwise.  Rain is predicted for most of the afternoon.  I hope we can get most of the moving done before it starts.

I got up early and stripped the bed where my daughter and granddaughter will sleep.  It's all remade and ready for them.  I'll sleep on the pull-out in the living room so that when the doggies and I are up early, we won't wake them.  The sheets that were on that bed are in the washer to make up the pull-out so I'm on schedule.

I'll be off to feed the doggies and have my breakfast and then get myself ready for work.  I won't be able to join the moving party until the rain does around 1:30.

Have a lovely day, Everyfriend!

Good morning everyone, looks like we had a little rain overnight.. We might have a thunderstorm later. Humidity is climbing, oppressive. Sure glad it is not like this for months at a time. I would ever go outside. Last 2 days I spent more time laying on the couch and watching TV and dozing. Just being lazy.

LLOYD  You will enjoy all that canning later in the winter months. I think of the years I canned and how we enjoyed it when it was freezing and snowing. Used to be some farms where we would go pick tomatoes for .50¢ a bushel now you cannot buy 1 pound for that price. Like your lobster joke.

JOAN  I am happy you took some “me” time yesterday. You deserve it with all you do for us.

JANE  the couch called me the last 2 days and I answered the call. Hope I have more energy today.

AMY  glad the AC in your van is working now. Sure would not go for a long ride without it. The 102 year old going to work every day is great. I love the sound of the Whippoorwills at night. That is until the night one was in the tree outside the bedroom window and woke me up. Same thing happened with a Mocking bird. I woke to the sound of birds, full moon, window open and very bright. Thought it must be time to get up till I looked at the clock. I kept listening to the different birds till I realized they were all coming from the same direction.

JOAN  one day I will really have to have eggs Benedict.
Chuckles, after 4 years the neighbor never bothered to meet them before, sad these days. Today's Prayer is a keeper. Thank you for today's goodies.

JANE  hopefully the rain will not start until after the moving is done.

Joan, there is no hurry to get yourself in here early, you sleep in if you get the chance to do so.....Just want to rest assured, that you will be in...... :)

Amy, think you have hiden them in your " hidey hole " too well, I am still hunting around and looking for them....oh well, " all good things come to those who wait....." or so they tell me.... ;D

Lloyd Hammond, think I prefer the taste of nectarines to peaches but, I do like the donut shaped peaches, they seem firmer than the round....

Jane S, oh that is the fun in having doggies, they tend to wake you early first thing in the morning.....I am sure your daughter wont mind being woken up for an early morning dog kiss....

Gloria, I think the heat can make one tired and lethargic.....

Shirley, you can leave the light turned low in the dimmer switch mode....I dont wish to trip over the cat first thing in the morning and disturb Everyfriends who are still well asleep...

Junedrabek, I am betting you made some lonely peoples day, yesterday....

Joan....." moving out of state..." now I am asking the question, just what did they do with their muffin.?....

halkel

Good MOrning Everyone!

Janie, I hope the move goes well and the girls cheer you up.  Also, bet that bed will feel good tonight.

Lloyd you and Nancy are energetic.  Best I can remember canning is a hot job and one I didn't like as a boy.  Seems the ladies always had something for us kids to do.

Jackie, hopefully they will figure things out for you.

Well I have to go get myself cleaned up and ready.  Got bible study this morning, some of the things we are studying I would bet some of your ladies wouldn't agree with.  We are studying  1 Corinthians.

Amy hope that rain keeps up.  Will make it easier to weed the garden.

Joan hope you just get some rain, along with us.

JoanFL

Good morning, Lloyd.  I know you will enjoy those canned peaches when the snow "flies".

Janie--Good morning.  You've been a busy bee already and for sure will be the rest of the day with working and helping with your daughter's move.  Hopefully the rain will hold off until the moving is completed.

Good morning, Gloria.  I wish you could send some of that rain our way.  I don't go out often in this oppressive heat, but since I was already out doing errands yesterday, I thought I might as well get with my friends for breakfast.

Vanilla-Jackie--As you know I seldom sleep as late as I did today.  I guess being out and about yesterday really tired me out.

halkel--Good morning.  I hope both of us get some rain.

Good Morning, Joan and all the other friends,

Thanks for the Eggs Benedict,.  That is an extra treat for my breakfast this morning.

A pretty sunny morning here in Central Maryland.  Supposed to be very hot today.  The electric company are asking people to cut back on their use of large appliances between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.  I have a plan called "Peak Awards"  and the electricity will be cut back during those hours.  I will get a discount on my electric bill for the amount of energy I saved.  There was one of these days last week and they called me the next day and said I will save about $7 off my bill.  I didn't see any difference in the temperature inside when they cut back.  I have my Kindle all charged up and I will read most of the afternoon and not watch the TV for that time period. I also have a pile of papers I can go through also.  I am a paper saver and sometimes it really builds up.

Hope everyfriend will have a great day.  Try to stay cool if you are in the parts of the company that are having this big heat wave.

And, also try to stay dry if you having a lot of rain.

But, most of all, try and enjoy your day.

It was good to get out for awhile yesterday.  I have some new library books to read myself to sleep with.  And, I sat and people watched while David walked around inside our big mall.  One trip clear around is exactly 1 mile long.  He even went for another walk after we got home though it was so hot.  He loves to walk and doesn't mind the hot weather.  Also, we stopped at the French bakery and picked up some cannoli, a nice baguette, and some delicious looking layered pastry called a "Black Forest".   And, I had a French lesson from the owner of the bakery on how to pronounce "mille feuille".  That is a layered pastry that Americans usually call Napoleons.  This bakery makes wonderful ones but they were sold out.  She said they sell out very early and if I want some I must come in the morning.  All in all it was a nice day out.

Grocery shopping today even though the temp. is supposed to be around 97°!  At least the car will be cool and so will the store.  It's the in-between that is uncomfortable.

Take care, everyone.  And... :) s..., Jane, and lots of them.
