Good morning, Joy.  I sure appreciate your putting those steamed crabs in the "hidey hole".  I'd better eat them fast or they will really stink up the place.  You know how fast fish goes bad if not eaten.:)  I like crabcakes, too.  And I also love steamed clams.

Jeanne Lee--I have accidentally pushed the button on my LifeLine twice.  However, when they called to see if I needed help, I answered the phone.  I also have three "responders" on my list who live in the neighborhood.  If I didn't answer they would try to contact them to check on me before they sent out a "crew".

Good morning, Sandy.  Your temps sound delightful.  Fe is so adorable.  Her outfit is just darling.

Jeanne Lee, Hm, embarrasing yes but looking on the bright side...at least you know that buzzer does whats its meant to be doing...bringing the rescue team out to you...now as for the searchlites, now that bit is scary, I should imagine you thought there was a maniac on the loose, and they were out searching, house to house... :o
...............................
Well back from the groomers, have to admit this is making my job harder, she done a great job on him, charged us the same as previous groomer, and told us Toby was really good but...whilst I was sorting out her money R had stepped outside and unwittingly Toby had a touch of the runs, she didn't complain just threw a bucket of water over it, think it then went into the decking crevices, so Toby left his going away present....as for me, I could only apologise for him...On the way back we once again popped into the water gardens carpark so I could use their outside loo before carrying on with our journey, we go home via, the opposite direction from where we come...... I still stick to my guns...I shant be taking Toby to her again, besides her driveway is on a steep slope, then another wooden slope, all this from a high up glass surround carport...
.............................
Our post arrived and at last we now know what to expect re, our Petplan Insurance...they are meeting what we paid over the halfway mark but, they did give us some problems a week or so ago with sending a letter request in answering some stupid questions of which they already have the answers, even demanding Benjis previous two vet history, going back the whole 13 years which we then had to chase up, since vet number one has now changed hands....
..............................
Think I forgot to mention the night before last I took a fall, nothing major....I was saying good night to Benji when I went down sideways on my left side, my good side, of course poor Benji jumped from his bed, both dogs around me thinking I was in a playful mood...I was  more angry with myself, wouldn't let R help me up, told him I was alright, just a carpet burn on my left lower leg so....In all honesty I don't know what caused it, whether accident or my MS.....I was lucky as I just missed catching my head on our double glassed dividing doors...
............................
Oh and some good news at last on our bathroom flood carpet fitting...R took a phonecall and someone is coming next Monday to lay it....how can a straightforward Insurance claim take so long?.....
..............................
On the disable Blue Badge saga, been almost three weeks now, and I still haven't received it....lets just hope number two passport size photo doesn't get rejected also....

Mary Ann

Sandy, Fe is a darling, looks so alert, happy.

Sandy, what a beautiful baby and a beautiful outfit.  She is so cute.

Vanilla-Jackie--Benji left the groomer a present for being so rude.:)  At least you heard from your Pet Insurance but seems they want you to jump through hoops asking for records for Benji going back 13 years.  I sure am glad you didn't get hurt severely when you fell.  I know you'll be happy to get that bathroom carpet installed.  And what happened to the Disabled Tag?

Good Morning - and Happy July Oneth!

Sandy, Fe is a cutie and the outfit is darling.

Jeanne Lee,  I do not understand why emergency people use an anonymous ID for calls.
One time, my phone rang at 2:00 a.m.   The Caller ID said "Anonymous Caller" so, of course, I ignored it.  It rang again and a woman's voice said,  "This is the police department.  There's an officer at your door who would like to talk to you about your neighbor."  I sternly told her I wasn't about to open my door and knew nothing about my neighbors at that hour of the morning.   (I also knew I was not the one to call if this neighbor had problems - and that she wasn't there, anyway)
When I peeked out, I saw a car parked across the street but could not see if it was a police car.
My granddaughter was spending the night (reason #2 why I wouldn't have opened the door) and, of course, told her Dad when he came to get her the next morning.
Then I called the local police station and, in my best This Is Your Teacher tone, expressed my opinion about the lack of information.
The nice young officer said politely,  "Yes ma'am.  I've just talked to your son."   :)  Apparently, my son had called with a "don't do that to my Mother" speech.
He did suggest that, if it ever happened again, I should call 911 to find out if it was a legitimate issue.

I feel a bit like Winnie-The-Pooh walking up and down with his umbrella saying,  "Tut tut, it looks like rain."   Yes, it does - but so far nary a drop has fallen on my house and the flowers could surely use some.

This has been a busy week - needing to be at a certain place at a certain time every day.
A friend and I did go to a new restaurant for lunch.  When we were served a small apple fritter as a complimentary appetizer, we realized we were in the former location of a "go to" restaurant that was famous for those.  25-30 years ago, someone walked around with a basket of hot apple fritters to enjoy until the entrees arrived.
I remember one time when the waitress smilingly told my younger son she didn't think she could give him any more - and, no, the orders were not slow in arriving.  ;D

There's a neighborhood picnic tomorrow evening.  Otherwise, I have no plans for the holiday weekend.  The Grands are scattered and I'm sure their parents and uncle/aunt will be around the pool.   I have never done well outdoors in the heat for more than a few minutes and am sure I shouldn't start trying to do so now.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere a lovely day.

larryhanna

Hi everyone on a relatively mild morning with 95 percent humidity.  We are headed up to about 90 degrees this afternoon.  A couple of times yesterday we heard some thunder and it looked stormy but we didn't get any rain.  There is only a small chance for today.

This is the morning for the housekeeper to be here.  I stopped reading and writing here for a quick trip to Walmart for a prescription and a few other items.  I plan to stay home the rest of the day.  I did have a good nights sleep last night so ready to take on the day.  My morning chores are completed.

I don't know whether Scott will be coming out to spend part of the day with us or not.  This is the day that Sam died last year and he asked us Wednesday if we would be home today if he needed to be with us to help him today as he is not working.

Phyllis, that is my understanding of the requirement when hiring a housekeeper that is basically an independent contractor.

Joan, yesterday the radar showed the rain on either side of us with the edges very close but no rain on us.  Nice that the repair man is coming to the car rather than you having to take it somewhere for the repair.

Mary Ann, my dad always wanted very thin crisp pie crust with his strawberries and milk.  I preferred the little yellow sponge cakes with some whipped topping rather than milk.  My mother had a huge strawberry patch and made lots of strawberry preserves each year.

Gloria, to the best of my memory, the Seniornet discussions started in 1996 or 1997.  Joan was one of the early discussion leaders.  I found the site about six months after it was started and became very involved mainly behind the scenes and enjoyed every minute of it.  Some of the folks came over from the the old AOL Senior discussions but I was never a part of those.

Jeanne, you will really appreciate someone else doing the cleaning for you.  Hope you find someone you like. I expect there is a program that can provide assistance such as cleaning and other things you may need help with.

Mary Ann, we have a side-by-side freezer/refrigerator and I think a top freezer is better especially as we age as it is hard to find things in the two lower baskets in the freezer.  It sounds like you will be doing a lot of eating out or carry-in until the new refrigerator arrives.  What brand did you buy?

Jackie, glad to see you had a good day yesterday.

Phyllis, we have found the secret with housekeepers is to let them know what we expect.  One time we had a problem with one cleaner moving things around and not putting them back basically where we have them and we had to let her know that wasn't what we wanted.  I think she may have thought if we didn't see things moved around we wouldn't think she had cleaned.  I can hardly go to a Dairy Queen without getting a small Blizzard with the Heath Bar added.  Fortunately, there isn't one in North Augusta so not too often tempted.

deAngel, I hope your water problems are now solved for you.  Those folks sure wouldn't win any prizes for good communication.  We have a couple in our Sunday School class who are in the process of selling out here and moving to Niceville to be closer to family, especially grandchildren.

Beverly, whenever we get a watermelon we cut it off the rind and into chunks and store it in plastic containers in the refrigerators.  It takes up much less space.

Hal, there often comes a time as we age where being in a nursing home is where we need to be as you children have their own lives to lead.  I saw this with my grandmother, who refused the offer from my mother and father to take her in an care for her and also my parents who lived the last couple years of their lives in the nursing home.  I know many people don't hold this view but that has been my experience.  I am hoping the same as you about staying in our home but Pat and I both realize that we may need to go to someplace like June lives as meal preparation is becoming very difficult for Pat.

Shirley, go into your setting for Windows 10 and you can set how long it will be before your computer goes into a sleep mode or not have it do that at all.  I just turn my monitor off when I am through with it for the day but leave the computer running so click of the mouse brings it back on line.  If you need help send me an email and I will tell you how to find the settings for this.

Jeanne, at least you know your alarm is working well and what to expect if you need assistance.  I am surprised the medical alert company doesn't have a name associated with their phone number.

halkel

Good Morning Everyone!

Late getting in here this morning, seems I am tail end charlie.

Janie, I can hear your motor revving up getting in the canning mood.  Don't forget to put up enough for us unfortunate souls.   :)

Joanie, Amy, I am with you on fireworks, I know some of our neighbors will be doing their (illegal) thing.  Kinda puts us other neighbors in a bind.  Although illegal how do you turn you neighbors in to the law for fireworks?  They have done it for years, so they aint gonna change now.

My wife is going down to Del Rio for the weekend with my Granddaughter and her twins.  I am staying home, I have no desire to be the only man among four women.  I am sure I can find plenty to here and at my own leisure.

Sandy, beautiful child.  Looks much like one of my Great Grands when she was that age.  The smile is infectious. You just cant help but smile back.  :smitten:

Cleaning lady is here, got to move.....bye

Sunny and humid here.  I'm staying in and re-acquainting myself with the vacuum cleaner.  What has to be done....has to be done. <sigh>

My mother did the same thing, Jeanne Lee.  After it happened the second time she wouldn't wear the button anymore.  It hung on the bed post until she decided it wasn't doing her any good so she dropped the service.  Nothing the family said would change her mind so we all just hoped that when she needed help someone would know about it.  Had to resign ourselves to what will happen will just happen.

Make it a good day, Everyone, and have a good Independence Day.

Good morning everyone, once again I was up till 4AM. The PSP is giving me problems.  Angelface was kind to me and sent me the dlls that had to be installed. The ones I had would not work. Good thing my CNA  gets here after noon or I would still have been sleeping.

PATRICIA  thank you, the file you sent worked and they went right in. When I retired  I went to the SS office the lady told me that since I was not going to get much and qualified they gave me SSI. With that I got the food stamps and Medicaid. After all that went through the state picked up the cost of the Medicare, that all surprised me. I also joined United Health at that time.

JANE we do what we have to do to survive these days.

HAL  not many families these days where the children take care of elderly parents. They are busy with their own lives. If I had to end up in a nursing home-so be it. My oldest sister made room in her house to take my parents to live with her.

SHIRLEY  my computer goes to sleep in 5 minutes and that drives me crazy, I am still using 7. Screen saver never has a chance to run. The old one I had started doing that, too.

JACKIE  I always read all the posts but don't comment to everyone. I was glad you got out a few ours and enjoyed hat time. Always good to see anyone enjoy themselves.

JOAN  I will enjoy an egg McMuffin.  OK Who is John Price.? Hard to believe anyone worse than Quazzimodo in that movie. Love the way Food For Thought had that man think. Thank you for today's goodies.

AMY  like you I hope people are careful if they set off fireworks. It is dry here and on TV they keep reminding people that only a few  fireworks are legal in this state. No flares or rockets allowed. So many places are tinder dry. No more cream on the milk we buy now.

JANE  I have 12 jelly canning jars and I will never make jam again. Have a good day at WM.

JACKIE  what dog doesn't bark? That groomer must not like animals.

JOY  you make me think I really missed a tasty treat with your steamed crabs.

JEANNE LEE  glad the rescue was not needed for you. Must have been frightening for a minute when they all pulled up to your home.

SANDY  your great granddaughter is adorable.  Love the smile in the second one.

LARRY  I did enjoy SN and it was so nasty of them what they did to us. I am grateful to Pat for bringing many of us back together.

Callie--You certainly had a strange experience with police at your door at that hour.  We have hot hours of thunder this week, but like you, nary a drop of rain.  Our clubhouse is having a 4th of July picnic, but I won't be going.  They set it up out around the pool and with this heat, I can't be outside for very long.

Larry--I know this is a hard day for Scott.  Anniversary dates are always tough.  I imagine they are for you and Pat, too.  The car body repair man did a fantastic job--had to do the entire rear bumper.  He charged me $250, which I though was reasonable.

halkel--I know some folks that turned neighbors in for shooting fireworks--the police never showed up.:)

Phyllis--Oh my, using the vacuum?  Better get my demerit ledger out.:)

Gloria--That PSP is interrupting your sleep.  Hopefully now that you have the proper dlls, things will run smoothly.

I'm in a right mess at the moment, our Benji's cancer signs have started...R alerted me to his back legs going...he is pacing all over the place, panting, looks frightened, I am going hysterical, telling R we have to phone vets, tell them its started, R telling me, then what, I'm telling R we cant ignore this, its started, its going to get worse....I was going crazy and shouting to R I cant find vets phone number, him giving me a fax number just made me worse....I managed to get through, crying of course, spoke to receptionist, she went and got Jeremy or Giles, cant remember which, I spoke to him, told him its started, he said can we bring him in so he could check him over, well with 20 minutes left R said no, we wont get there in time, the traffic....then tomorrow is weekend but, vet then said can we get him into their other surgery in Weymouth, its nearer, and open till 7.30pm, we said yes, vet is gothe time is now 6pm, our appointment is 6.40...

Amy

Jackie, prayers going your way,it is hard to let go. Our furkids give us unconditional love and we have to  give it back.Choices are not easy, but need to be taken with our furkids .

We have all come back, Benji is back but were told Benji has had a stroke, thats why he is so disorientated and wobbly, and he showed us Benjis eye movement, although to me it wasn't obvious....This vet is not the one or two vets I preferred to see, this one is new, a forigner, maybe polish, Lithuanian, not sure...He gave Benji two injections, one steroid, one antibiotic, told not to feed him tonight...Told us to come see him tomorrow at the other vet surgery, the one we have been dealing with....to give him the next injection.....Says if he hasn't improved by then, we must consider the options, although he could well recover....I wont let him be the one to end Benjis life, I want one of the other two to do that, I don't know whether any of them will be there Saturday, if indeed it comes to this...... Vet couldn't say for sure whether this was connected to his cancer or not....Vet also told us what we may or may not expect in through the night or in the morning, I am absolutely dreading whether Benji comes into my bedroom, or when I go in to check on him, usually 5.15am, but I doubt I will sleep at all tonight...Benji is trying to be normal Benji, even trying to give me kisses, but he is struggling, still wobbly, still losing balance, pacing, not settling....he may be settled now....I hate to see him like this, I don't want to see him like this....As usual both me and R are arguing, we never see eye to eye, and I will be the one going to check on him first thing in the morning, I very much doubt he will budge from his bed..

JaneS

Jackie, my prayers are with you.  I pray that you will do whatever is best for Benji.  It's sometimes the hardest decision we have to make but they trust us to make it for them.  Be strong for Benji!

Gloria, If I could, I'd scoot over there and get those jelly jars.  They are the ones I'm always short of because usually they don't come back when you give them to someone as a gift.  I don't expect them to be returned but once in a while they are.

Hal, you're right!  I'm gearing up for the canning season.  This is just the beginning.  If I should happen to leave this world suddenly, I wonder if they'd eat all this stuff?

I have to go take Miss Annie to the vet.  She is again having a bad case of the "Major Itchies" and I don't want it to reach the point where she begins to pull her hair out in clumps.

In the words of General Douglas MacArthur, "I shall return!"

Larry, I bought an 18-cu ft Frigidaire refrigerator with glass shelves.  I had a Frigidaire when I moved to the condo and replaced it several years ago with a Whirlpool so now I will be back to Frigidaire.  The trash people picked up the trash bags of food today and the refrigerator is empty.  Tom bought a bag of ice so we could put what we kept on ice.  We'll have to get more ice before the refrigerator is delivered Tuesday.  I also have to have the door changed to open from the right.

Tom has just left for the balance of the day; he's going to Holland to see his son or friends or both.  He'll be back late tonight.

With the New Englanders mentioning steamed crabs or clams and other such similar sea food, I've never had those.  I did have some mussels and clams on a tour in New England several years ago, but I'm sure they were nothing like you're used to.  I do like fish and try to order it often when I go out, but I know what I get is nothing like what is available by the seashore.

Mary Ann

JaneS

It didn't take me as long as it took General MacArthur.  But then, I didn't go as far and no one was shooting at me!  They gave Annie a new med and we shall see what commences....or what stops (preferably the ITCHIES!)

Gonna go see if there are any zzzs left on the sofa.  The nights have not been easy for any of us while we fought the itchies.  Keep on keeping on!

Click for Lewisburg,Pennsylvania Forecast

JoanFL

Vanilla-Jackie--I continue to pray for Benji, you and "R".  I know this will be a difficult night.

Janie--I am sure all your stuff will always be eaten--it's so delicious.  Hope the vet can give Annie something to relieve the itching.  Edit--I see you've already been and got medicine.  Now you can relax and find some of those zzz's.

Mary Ann--I hope you get many years of use from the new fridge.  I love all kinds of fish, and that's most often what I order when I go out to eat.

June Drabek

I woke shortly after three this morning, so this will be an odd ball day for me. At five thirty my blood was drawn. A wonderful lady. She took it from a vein near my wrist. I didn't feel a thing. I plan to go down soon and have lunch, then back home to get comfy and just crash.

Hal, your daughter may be interested to know there are alternates to "nursing homes". Where I am is where I will stay. If I reach a point where I need constant care, my Gary plans to call in Hospice. A God given organization, and they have the legal right to administer enough pain killer to keep the patient from suffering. I feel very peaceful about death.

MUCH LATER….I was getting so sleepy I decided I had better go downstairs and have lunch, then came home and napped. Sort of a wasted day, but stuff happens…….

Amy, I'm happy to read that you are having a quieter day at home. I can see no sense at all in fireworks. They are so costly, and some danger, and smell up the air, and really terrorize and hurt the animals ears.

Jeanne, my Lifeline is worn around the neck, attached to a cord. When I first got it, I bent over to pick something up and it slipped off my neck and hit the floor. That set off the alarm in our clinic downstairs. The phone rang, and I was asked if I was O.K. I explained what happened and since then I have shortened the cord. Our life line only works in the buildings here, so if I leave the area, I always have my cell phone for emergency calls.

Sandy, Fe is a beautiful little baby, and growing so fast. My latest Gr. Grand is trying to crawl now…..too soon they are young adults. Whenever I see these gorgeous little outfits like her dress, I wonder, "is it washable ?"

Bis I actually used my lifeline one night. I had been so sick to my stomach…violently ill, so I felt I might faint. A male R.N. was on duty downstairs and he was at my door in less than two minutes. He took my pulse, listened to my heart, brought me chipped ice, and insisted I spend the next day in bed. He also left orders for light meals to be delivered to my apt.

Callie that would really spook me to have someone come to my door saying they were the police. I probably would have been dumb enough to open the door. We did have security screens on our last home, and they were great.

Gloria, my iMac has a page named System preferences, and I can go there and change  the timing for shutting down, sleeping, etc.

Jackie, you must remain calm when Benji is going through trauma. You have to be strong for her. Dogs sense when we are upset, and that does not help them at all. Speak softly to Benji, and pet him gently to help him calm down, O.K. ???

Janie, I found that half an allergy table (over the counter) work for my Petey's itching. He was having seizures and the Vet recommended allergy tablets for that too.

Mary Ann,  Does Dot live near enough to you that if Tom was away an you needed help, she could be there for you ?
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Its midnight, I've dozed off, been to sleep, don' know for how long, nothing unusual in that for me, happens often throughout the day, another one of our MS traits...R is still up, Benji has been very settled and resting, got up to go into the garden to wee, is aware of me....I am just going to say good night and kiss him....I shall be up again in five hours time....I have read up that unlike humans with a stroke, dogs get over theirs, but of course no mention of age or other underlying issues....I am of course angry that my Blue Badge hasn't come, for near disabled parking access....I made a promise during these next two months that we will take Benji to this tourist attraction country park where he can be let off lead at the allocated parts, and really have a good old runaround, Benji wont be able to do that now....I also made a promise that I will get our Benji to walk on sand....R has always made that excuse we lived too far away, well we don't now, and still after three months the dogs haven't done that, nor have I....

Shirley

Jackie, my heart is heavy for you tonight..... when my best friend & guardian of my kids reached the stage of a trip to the vet for "one more chance" to help her on Friday and knowing I would be taking her for a final trip on Monday, she saved me from that heartbreak by slipping away about midnight the night before.  I would have held her when the vet gave the shot, friends offering to take her but I was not willing.  I took her from her mother at 4 weeks and we shared lives and children for 11 & 1/2 years.  I've loved a lot of "critters" since, each are special and hold special memories.  My sincere sympathy to you & R.... and know that each has to grieve in their own way.  For Benji's sake, soft tones and kindness all around him for that sense of peace.  I will be thinking of you.

Sandy, that is a darling little girl, beautiful and I am sure going to be bright as any baby ever could be.

Thanks to a note from Jack with a clickable of where to change the setting....  not at all like where I had found before & tried to change... but this worked so computer not dozing off every time I stop to check for typos.... Thank you, Jack.... it takes a "show-me" screen to get through this old Missouri Mule head!  All's well tonight.  Shirley .... sweet dreams to all and God Bless us Every Friend.

Gloria

Looks like we will be getting one of those thunder storms in this are tonight instead of the southern part of the state. We could use the rain.

JOAN  after 2 nights not being able to sleep I hope things are OK now. I will have to download and install a lot of plugins because some are no longer working. I sure hope I can sleep tonight.

JACKIE  my heart foes out to you at this time.

JANE  I well know about canning jars not being returned, I lost a lot that way and my daughter has with the relish she makes. Wish I could give you or my daughter the jars. I have a few I use for leftovers.

MARY ANN  I never had mussels. When we used to go to Maine they were all around the rocks along the shore line but no one ever thought to gather and cook them  If you had seafood along the coast it would have been very fresh. I like seamed or fried clams and lobster any way. Fish I can live without. Right now I have some shrimp in the fridge. I will have a feast with them tomorrow.

JANE  hope the new med helps Annie.

JUNE  like you I am not fearful of going “home”. So many are afraid but it comes to all of us.  My little great grandson is walking all over now. He will be 1 year the end of this month. Hard to believe it is July already. My oldest son will be 65 tomorrow.

SHIRLEY  if my DIL had told e she was taking “my” dog to go over that bridge I would have gone with her ad held her till her spirit left. My DIL knows how I felt about Abby so she didn't until she got home from the Vet. After all these years at times when I go there I look for my shadow.

Good night everyone. Want to be away from the computer before the storm gets here.

Jackie, is there any place you can check about your parking permit?  It just seems such a long time that you’ve been waiting.  I had to have my doctor sign a form, then mail it to the Secretary of State and I got the OK back in a few days.  I then had to go to the Secretary of State office near me to get the plate and I got a handicap tag plus the State mailed the license plate to me.  I sold my car earlier this year and Tom bought a car.  He needed my car registration so he could get a handicap plate because of me.  None of the actions took more than a week or two at the most.

I think of you an Benji often.  I remember when our dog died, no one could say a nice word to me for several days.

Gloria, I don’t remember where I had the mussels, but I think we were in Maine, a place called The Sugar Shack.  We were on a tour.  I wish we had been in those states longer so I could have had more sea food.  At The Sugar Shack, we had Clam Chowder, Mussels and Lobster.  I liked all of them OK, but I’m not a big fan of any of them.  I think the fish I prefer is Haddock, but I usually don’t know what kind of fish I am being served.

From the looks of the Weather Channel, Gloria De is in the midst of a storm.  I hope she has her water leak fixed by now.

Mary Ann, when I had the heart surgery & Dr's orders not to drive for a month, I put in for a handicap tag to use for a few weeks after the okay.... only the permit didn't come until long after I needed it so I just didn't go pick it up.  Was more than 2 months in the waiting.  My husband had a handicap tag for a couple years before he died... first over the mirror & later on the state tag.  He couldn't walk far, only a few steps without gasping for air....  he didn't need or use oxygen, just a weak heart muscle.

Gloria, I understand the attachment to your son's dog.... some animals are special and no denying it, they are as connected as any good human friend.  You might as well give up on sleep until you get that computer set up with everything you need.... the brain won't rest until you do.

I have spent the day looking for a pair of "last year's" glasses.  They were the transitions & I didn't wear them much since they didn't darken in the car when I needed dark, but now that I am wearing the old prescriptions for going down to the river, I would like to have them.  Alas, you know how it is, looked in every nook & cranny, purse & tote bag but know they will be where I looked FIRST & overlooked!  So frustrating~ I've looked in the RV & under seats in the car... becomes an obsession.

Got to get busy & do some chores before going to bed.  This is going to top all week ends.... 3 years tomorrow that Cas didn't wake up... a lot has happened since but right now it seems like last week. It puts a little damper on the holiday & always will.... the grands aren't sure how to handle it so I bring up the fact and we all agree he is in a much better place and not suffering.  They like to know it's okay to talk about him.  He was a bigger than life figure, they thought he could do anything (could, pretty much) but they were all a little afraid of him, of upsetting him.  My gr-father was a stern man & I felt the same about him, my other gr-father died the week of my 2nd birthday so I don't remember anything about him except his funeral.  So I'm rambling.... Good night to all, safe & happy holiday.  I will be flying my flag.

'Night, Jane... guess I'll turn out the light.

Just checking in to see how you all are doing?

JACKIE, I am so sorry to read about Benji.  I was so hopeful he would have a period of time that he and you could enjoy each others company.  Just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.  I hope that Benji wakes tomorrow and feels better and you can go on from here.

SANDY, your little Fe is darling...my goodness she has grown so much and I just can not believe she is already 2 months old.

Pleasant dreams to all.
