Patricia, Tisi and Gloria..looks like we are the only ones burning the midnight oil, so I am here to bid you a very Good night and a Happy Tomorrow.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Denver

Good evening.  Sure feels good to be posting from my recliner.  We had a wonderful time in Austin but it is always good to get home.

Our flight left on time early last evening and we arrived home around 7:30.  I prefer to get in earlier, but it wasn't too bad. It is always good to sleep in your own bed.

We got out to get some groceries purchased, and then spent the rest of the day just taking it easy.

I hope you all enjoyed your Sunday.

Thank you for our goodies today, JOAN.  I hope Linda and Ed arrived safely and you will enjoy your visit with them.

Good morning, JACKIE.

Pleasant dreams to all....

Test for Mental Acuity

It doesn't hurt to take a hard look at yourself from time to time, and this should help get you started.

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director what the criterion was which defined whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup.

"No." said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"

Food For Thought

Endings and Beginnings
(By Debbie Preuss)

Life goes on and everything, must someday come to an end
Whether it is a sunny day, or a relationship with a friend
Some things crush our heart, so we feel we can't go on
We find that it is hard, to face the coming dawn
We may have worked long and hard, at a job we love
When one day we're let go, by the boss above
As we watch our children grow, and see them test their wings
Do we dread the letting go, or does our own heart sing?
Marriage is a pleasure, you give someone your heart
But what do you do if one day, the marriage falls apart?
Or if someone you love, loses their good health
What if bad decisions, steal away your wealth?
There are so many changes, that we face each day
If things suddenly end, will we be okay?
Sometimes the end, is just a new chapter in our life
Even though it often, brings to us great strife
When the ending becomes the beginning, we'll find we can go on
Slowly through the healing, God will make us strong
One day we may look back, at the places we have been
And see the wisdom of the ending, when God did intervene
Though the ending may be painful, and so full of strife
Cling to the Savior, for He cares about our life
So when the ending becomes a beginning, see what God will do
For He loves His precious children and I know He'll see us through

Thought of the Day

When a door closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

R is adamant he is not going to move again, not even for the benefit of my illness...Got R to leave taxi money incase I need to make a sudden vet visit...

Good morning everyone...

Gosh, I sure pounded my pillow and slept in!! Need to take snow tires in to the garage and they can put them on hubby's van while there getting other work done.
A trip to the Mennonite market to pick up some apples and then to a store to get something to put in the gas tank of the lawn mower and garden tiller for the winter then home again!

Joan,thank you for breakfast.

Enjoy your day everyone.

This must be the day for sleeping in.  The doggies and I just got up, too.  They had a minor altercation over whose space was whose around 4:30 and then we all settled down again and slept until almost 7.  Very unusual for all of us.  I expec they'll want breakfast soon.

All I have on my agenda for today is to pick up TLH after school and that doesn't happen until 3:45.  I didn't get the vacuuming done because I forgot to pick up the baking soda at the store yesterday.  I discovered I have one regular size box so I'm going to use that up today and get the vacuuming done.  I can't use any of the regular deodorizing kind because of the additives in them.  Annie's skin is so sensitive to almost anything that I have to be extra careful.  But I remember my grandmother using baking soda for lots of things and it doesn't seem to aggravate Annie's symptoms.

I hope you all have a lovely, relaxing day and that you enjoy whatever comes your way.

Jackie, enjoy your solitude.  We need to have that sometimes just for renewal.

Good Morning Everyone!

Janie, did I hear right, everyone sleeping in this morning, I'm not, I was up at 6 to put the coffee on and then in to get myself spic and span for my doctors appointment.  8:30 appointment that they want me there at 8, for paperwork, before I see doctor.  Not far to his office but will have to put up with folks going to w----.  I have most of the paperwork filled out, I downloaded forms from web.

Haven't stuck my nose out so don't know what the weather is like.  Usual morning scud which we have until about 11 then sunshine and maybe a little ground fog.

Jackie, enjoy your day doing what you want.  Hope the guy gives you some good news on your care.  Did you ever hear anything about your complaint?

Need to finish some things.....

Lloyd Hammond

Hall i was up lot earlier than that but Made breakfast for us.I left a note on Skype. hard to catch you lately.too many doctors visits for both of us.Have a great day.

....as it was dealt with within the same hospital, reading between the lines they certainly were sticking up for the MS team....got an apology for their mess-ups but they admitted that they couldn't get to the bottom of who cancelled my appointment, so that was a complete waste of time...As for the MS Consultant, he is still adamant he doesn't intend on seeing me again, basically because its the Primary Progressive form I have yet, that was the same form of MS I had back at my last hospital, yet she was willing to see me the following year which would have been July...Basically it was a real waste of time putting in my complaint....Cant get myself any other MS Specialists as they all come under our NHS and have their allocated catchment areas...

Gloria

Good morning everyone, Slept on and off last night, crazy. Looks like it rained overnight again and still windy. Just heard on the news that we will be down to the freezing mark and below by mid week. Will be back to dressing in layers again, had a cozy sweatshirt on yesterday, glad I have them out and ready for this.

SHIRLEY I knew the manager would not want anything on the walls but at the meeting she did say that one like what would be put on a window. What I was looking at would be on the TV table had a ring that turns to bring in better reception. My TV is not near the window and that flat antenna would need a very long cord. The one I am talking about has a 90 money back guarantee so plenty of time to see if it would work. I still hesitate, you are the only one I know who has an inside antenna. Guess Cox could not ignore us when a whole building was complaining about no TV.

JANE  now that is my kind of movie. Never saw a John Wayne movie I didn't
enjoy.

JENNY  always good getting home to your own place.

JOAN  a sticky bun is a great way to start the day. I wish you a good visit with Linda and Ed. Just copied Endings and Beginnings. I would like to see this posted in the weekly newsletter we get here. We have some who only seem to dread the end of our lives. They can sure depress the rest of us. Thank you for all today's goodies.

JACKIE  great that a man is going to your home to help plan for your future.

AMY  yes it is time to think of snow tires and winterizing the lawn mower and tiller. Glad I no longer have to worry about things like that.

JANE  so many uses for baking soda, would never be without it in the house, that and Epsom salts.

HAL  hope your doctor appointment has good news for you.

LLOYD  good morning.

Good morning , Joan and all the friends who follow.

Thanks for the sticky buns this morning.   Something different and very good.

Jackie,  hope that you will have a good day,  getting to do exactly what you want to do.  I am pretty much by myself everyday, and I do enjoy my solitude a lot.  It took me a long time to finally realize that, being by myself,  I am not obligated to anyone and I can do just what I feel like doing.  I know you are not usually by yourself,  but hope you can enjoy the day doing something special.

Pretty sunny morning here on the central east coast,.  But, I had to push my thermostat up for the furnace to kick on.  I am afraid tha our beautiful, balmy days of last week are gone for the season.  It was wonderful while it lasted.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.

Gloria, lots of people use the antennas here but we have pretty good reception .... but not ALL the time.  Weather can mess up the signal but in my case, it's more background noise than anything & I am satisfied with watching old re-runs (no-brainers) just to chill out when I do sit.  I am afraid you will be disappointed if you
aren't in an area that has quite a few choices. I can get the PBS station on 2 of the TVs but all cracked up on the other 2.... can't depend on it.  Can get the ME station all the time & the 3 local stations, but locals sure have a lot of sports~

I am not getting going too good this morning.... cats were out all night & must be waiting at the door.

Will be back later after everyone eats.  Good morning to all!!!!

Over half way through, another 3 & a half hours or so, usually I would welcome a day like today but Benji has already gone down once through his excitement on our slippery part of the floor when the man knocked at the door, I had trouble lifting his body up again....

Just taken in possession of our two pieces of new decking matting's, they are to prevent slipping on wet or icy weathers, just as well as its raining today...they do have drainage holes...

JoanFL

Good morning halkel.  Good luck at your doctor's appointment.

Good morning Lloyd.  I often have crazy dreams.:)

Gloria--Linda and Ed are going to be in and out all day with all of their appointments.

Good morning Joy.  It's chilly here (for Florida)--sweater weather but it will warm up as the day goes on.

Shirley--Good Morning.  No antennas allowed here.

Hi everyone on a beautiful crisp Monday morning.  We do expect to reach the low 80s this afternoon.  There is lots of activity at the new house across the street as this is the last day they have to work before the closing, that according to the builder, is to occur tomorrow.  I know they still have to build the back yard wooden fence that all of these houses have and they are now painting the columns on the front porch.  It should be a busy day over there.

I looked at my receipt from when I bought the laptop for Pat and found I have two years of warranty coverage as COSTCO provides the second year.  I will be calling them today to see what needs to be done to get Pat's laptop fixed.  I hope they will authorize repair locally but that is probably too much to ask for and I will have to send it off.  At least I still have the box it came in.

Today I will attend my noon meeting and then plan on stopping at COSTCO to fill the gas tank on the car and then get two or three items from the store.  At 4 pm Pat has another Chiropractic appointment.  That will be plenty for today along with the normal chores here at home and getting the evening meal.

Sandy, I agree with you that are you fortunate to live near your kids and Grand kids.  We are at least very near to our son but a very long ways from our granddaughter and our great grandchildren.

Gloria, 5 inches of rain in a few days is a lot of rain.  Hope the wind will have died down in your area today.

June, Pat does roll to her side when she gets out of bed but it doesn't seem to help.  This morning she tried raising the head of the bed but she said that didn't help either.

JaneS, you must have the loudest sofa around with it always hollering for you to get a little sleep.  :)  I hope you enjoy your quiet day today.  I do hope your friend will check us out.

Jenny, glad you are safely home after your fine trip.

Joan, I liked your chuckles for today.

Jackie, I hope you are very careful today since you will be alone for so long.  I do hope you get some good information from the "Age Conern..." fellow.  Sorry to read your didn't get any satisfaction from your complaint about the MS Consultant.  Perhaps you would be seen by a different person were you to get another appointment.

Hal, do you ever wonder if anyone looks at the paperwork we seem to have to fill out on almost every visit?  It does help to get the paperwork in advance.  I hope your appointment today went well.

The man who came to see me, re, our business talk...I found out through our conversations of my Urinary bleed hospital visit in less than a couple of weeks, and the mention of my bladder changes, re, MS, that he too understands me when I mention bladder changes as he then told me that he is - has been, dealing with prostate cancer, I asked him if he had it under control, if he was alright now.... he informed me yes, as long as he sticks to a diet he had been put on, and he mentioned of something else? which is under control...He was a real nice and friendly man, I made him a cup of coffee as soon as he arrived, spent quite some time with me...guess he would have been around my age group if not, a tad older...

OK Jeanne,    now I am curious..
Where was your hearing aid?  And how did you find it.

My guess is that it was under your bed, perhaps behind
one of the legs,  so no one could see it.

Could we play 20 questions?   (giggle)

Denver

Good morning, EVERYFRIEND.

It is a beautiful morning here in the Mile High City.  We are to be in the 70's all week long....sure is a unusual October.  I am not going to complain as my tree in the front of the house still is full with leaves and a snow now would be devistating.  I do believe this particular tree is more vibrant in color than ever before this year.  It is still very colorful through the metro area but a lot of leaves are on the ground.

JOAN, thank you for the goodies today.  I enjoyed them all very much.  Continue to enjoy your time with the family.  I forgot to mention that I did see that it was YOUR and Ray's wedding anniversary and I did think about you with special thoughts.

JACKIE, I do hope R made it back safely with the new car.  Is it a different model and color than the one he turned in?   I hope the rest of the time you were alone went without incident and Benji had no other issues.  It sounds like the visit with the gentlemen from from the age concern meeting went well, but did he give you any encouragement for a solution?  I certainly hope so.  I think I understand better about the problem with the MS Consultant now....however, I do not understand how they can make the choice not to see you?  I know it is just another example of "red tape", so it is confusing at best.  It seems to me that they owe you care no matter where you live, but of course that is black and white, and nothing seems to be that way these days.  My prayers for you and of course your Benji.  I am intrigued by your comment that the man said his prostate problems is better if he stays on his diet.  Bob was not told about any diet change so I wonder what change would help the issues?  I am sure he did not get that detailed about it to you.

JEANNE LEE.....so happy to read you found your hearing aid!

LARRY, I am sure happy to read that Pat is feeling so much better and is able to continue to do more for herself.  I have to tell you that I look forward to hearing the progress you tell regarding the new home across the street.  I, too, hope you can get the laptop repaired locally, but I doubt it too.  Enjoy your day.

HAL, hope your appointment went well for you today and that you are back home enjoying your day.  We sure enjoyed our time in your part of the states, in Austin...the weather was perfect.

GLORIA, it appears the meeting with Cox helped, but they did not totally accomplish a fix to the reception problem....sure seems they could have done it internally rather than individual reception devices!

We are going to venture out today and visit one of the larger museums as it is a "free" day.  I will be taking my scooter so will be able to ride and see more than if I had to walk.  I should be staying home and doing laundry.....but the laundry can just wait...it is not going anywhere!

Enjoy your day.

Jenny

JENNY....
...R's still got another couple hours driving, his original app was for next week but our clocks go back this weekend, it would have been darker for him to have driven home, so he brought his changeover app closer...He is going for the same car but different colour of my choosing, white, of course now he may continue on his plan instead of buying it after a few months at his second hand discounted price from them...just like him to go back on his word....

The Age Concern man didn't elaborate on his diet, I never asked him, just that he is following it...he also mentioned about his med's, and his next follow up app...

Of course you must take up the opportunity of visiting your museum especially that you will get in free, dirty washing can wait...

Jenny we have a right to MS care but looking up on the internet I came across, " their are 450, or was that 540 MS Specialist Nurses to every one person with MS in UK...As for the Consultant, he should be seeing us once a year at least...Seems to be if we have Primary Progressive we get discarded...or at least in Dorset we do...
Wish I had of known what I know now, I would have never moved here...I had them all back at my old address, either from the Hospitals team, MS Therapy Centre, and an Incontinence Nurse at another surgery, with an annual follow up.....

halkel

Well, I am back home with an appointment in December to get a shot in my back.
I have to go across town to a surgical center for it, because of my AFib.  What fun to get old.  Boy are the doctors busy beavers.  When I went in there was only one other person waiting, when I came out the place was full, including the parking lot. Have to remember to always get an early appointment.

Jackie, would writing a letter (or sending an email) to your MP help in regards to your MS problem.  Sometimes over here a letter to our Congressman will get people off the dime and get some action.  I cant believe they just leave you hanging.  You have a real problem and need care and assistance.

Hey Jeanne, did I HEAR that you found your hearing aid?  ::)  bad pun.  I am happy that you did.  Now like someone said we still have to find the other one.

We now have showers around the area.  Showered over at the doctors office while I was inside.  But parking lot and care was wet when I cam out and a few black clouds float around. So who knows, maybe one here at the house.
