Hello Lloyd.  Good to see you made it back in :)
Have a great day. A green house sounds  wonderful. Is that for flowers?

Lloyd Hammond

Now I will have to figure out how to put this on the tool bar.

Good morning, Joan and all.   The mini-muffins sound good this morning.  Will sneak a couple with my coffee.

It is so nice to see everybody slowly returning.  Seems like the site is almost back to normal with lots of familiar names.

It is a cloudy, windy morning here in Central Maryland with rain expected.  Although, the temperature is supposed to be close to 80 º.  And, then a chillier weekend.

Need to get myself movin'.

Have a wonderful day.    :smitten:

Good morning, Joy.  I like your new avatar.  I guess summer has arrived there with that 80° temp.  Here they say we'll hit 90°--the highest so far this year.

Lloyd--I see your post.  It sounds like you are going to have a "state of the art" greenhouse.

Sandy

Good Friday Morning,
from the Rocky Coast of Maine.
It is going to be in the high 50's  and 60's
today with a bit of rain mixed in.

Pretty much normal conditions for April,
here in the North East.

All is well here.   Just getting used to the new
place and what it has to offer.

I like it!

Good Morning Everyone!

Welcome home Lloyd.  Sound like you are making good progress on the hot house.  That soil ought to grown anything, sound like it is rich as ..........

Well I heard thunder during the night and when I got up this morning is was windy and cold, guess the front made it.  But it is dry. And I suspect most of the moisture we got the last few days is gone with that cold dry wind.

Now I am going to get some coffee and join you all on the patio.  With a heavy coat on.

Never did get an answer from Jackie, but her email didn't come back.

Kelly

Hi Halkel
Good morning to you young sir!

If I had Vanilla's email address I could see if she if she will reply.

Kelly

JaneS

YAY!  Lloyd found us!

Kelly, the problem with Jackie is that she has moved at just about the time we went down.  We're all thinking that she might have a different server so she isn't getting our emails.  What I'm hoping is that she has someone's email and will send a note asking what happened and then we will be in touch.

I've finished my second cup of coffee and I guess I better find my way to the bedroom and get dressed before I get caught in my jammies.  It's kind of a dreary day here.  It's raining and dark.  Not at all the type of day that makes one want to wake up.  Oh well.  Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny.

Hi everyone on a very rainy and stormy Friday morning in our area of South Carolina.  April showers aren't wasting any time getting started. We have had some heavy rains and one lightning strike that sounded like it was in our neighborhood.  We are to have periods of rain throughout the day and night.  Nothing particular on my calendar for today other than to pay bills as this is the first of the month.  I think this will be a good day to stay home.

Sandy, I agree we can all use a helping hand here from time to time.  Yesterday I really appreciated Bubble sharing how to insert our avatars as I had forgotten.  I know we all try to help each other when we can.

Callie, new appliances are always nice but seems each comes with a new learning curve involved.  What brand did you buy?

MaryTX, I sure wish we had tornado sirens here although we live out so far from the main town area it probably wouldn't cover us anyway.  Fortunately with smart phones we do get weather warning to stay alert.  Our area is under a possible tornado advisory for several hours today.

Jenny, do you find the tunes playing on the washer and dryer annoying?  I know I do in addition to the buzzer on our dryer and the beeping of the microwave.  However, not the most important thing in my life.

Joan, your last Chuckle for today really gave me a laugh.

Lloyd, glad to see you are now back online here.

Kelly

Hi JaneS
Thanks for the information, I did not know she had moved.  Do you know where she is moving to?

Kelly

so_P_bubble

Callie I too had to buy a new washing machine last week.  Mine of over 3o years  rusted through and made a flood on its last use.  Now I have a whirlpool.  It made such a racket  when I first used it that I was afraid the upstairs neighbor would come and complain.  I have since put it on a piece of carpet and it is much quieter like that.

June Drabek

Good Morning dear ones, I have been up since four a.m. and getting sleepy now. This will be one strange day for sure. Some good came from my early rising though. I was able to reconnect with my card program, and get my new email address installed. I had just about given up and tell them to cancel my subscription when Voila......all is well.

My stomach is calling for a nice raised doughnut residing in my kitchenette, so I will oblige and go back to bed and restart my day with perhaps a short nap It is not yet 7 a.m.

See you all later. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Good Morning, Everyfriend,

Jenny guessed the brand of my new washer/dryer -  LG  - based on my comment that the dryer plays a melody when it's done.   It's the same brand as I had but the former dryer did a "yoo hoo".

Bubble,  here in Tornado Alley, the sirens are tested every Saturday at noon all year round - unless we're under a Severe Weather/Tornado watch.   The Oklahoma City metro area is very large  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma_City_metropolitan_area  and the storm sirens are set to go off only in the area(s) that are directly threatened.

Off to finish the laundry I didn't get done yesterday.

I hope Everyfriend Everywhere has a lovely day -  no Foolin"   ;D

Gloria

Good morning everyone, watch out for the tricks today. It is April Fools day so be careful. It is raining here but that is better than the 18 inch blizzard we had on this day several years ago.

KELLY  you have shared quite a bit about your IOM, even some of the language. I had saved them on my old PC but they are gone now.  I like saying hello or good night to you in your language, not that I could say them. I remember the times you gave us links to your beautiful country.

MARY ANN  at one time we lived around the corner from a fire station. At that time al the fire stations would blow their whistles at 7 pm. It really was loud.  I can imagine the sound of a tornado siren and it would last longer than the short one of the fire stations.

SHIRLEY  you know I enjoy your long messages. I do get carried away at time, too, and feel I wrote a book. Thanks, I was happy at that wedding. I had to hunt up something to use, could not find the one I had before. I would not recognize you with long hair. I did copy your old avatar and can send it to you. That Missouri discussion was a lo.t of fun. With Bunnie leading it we never knew what would we would see there every day. Like Martex and her “trips”. You have great memories of that Fair.

JUNE  at one time I had a problem with JL cards, too. I finally got in touch with them and got it straightened out. They do have a place that says CONTACT US.

JOAN  well since you are serving mini muffins this morning I think I will have 2 of them. Good chuckles. Of course I have copied them. Food for Thought is a keeper. Thank you for today's goodies. So good starting my day here again.

BUBBLE  nice seeing you here in the SS.

PHYLLIS  I will have some groceries delivered tomorrow. I still would prefer going to the market myself but this is the second best way to keep eating.

KELLY a wet morning here, too.

AMY  wind here calmed down during the night. Went to sleep with it whistling around the corner.

JANE  good idea, I'll join you on the PWP and think about what I should be doing but rather take it easy.

LLOYD  glad to see you make it back. Sounds like you are doing great getting your green house built. Don't worry about spell check.

JOY  nice seeing your avatar. Please don't send those winds here to the north east. Had too much of them lately. Forecast here is for possible snow Sunday, not enough to get the shovels out according to the weather guessers.

LLOYD  your posts are showing.

HAL  so how cold is it there? You southern folks don't know what cold is. You might remember from the winter you spent in Canada.

LARRY  looks like the east coast is having rain today.

CALLIE  OK no Foolin' today

Shirley, it was good to read of your activities.  I hope all is well with your RV.

June, I won't try to give instructions for Jacquie Lawson, however, I do have her site in my Bookmarks.

Bubble, yes, they test our tornado siren every month.  It only last a minute or so and isn't that bad, however, the siren is just up and across the road so when it is aimed in our direction, it is loud.

Today is to be nice, but there is snow in the forecast for Saturday and I see it is in the forecast for next Friday and Saturday.  Is there no end???

It's good to see that Lloyd finally made it here.

Bubble, with your new washer, is it level?  It should not make a bad noise while merely washing.

Gloria, I sometimes have Tom go to the store without me but his tastes are different than mine.  He likes salsa and chili and such and I do not.  If I want something special and I don't go to the store, I tell Tom about it and he does a good job of getting what I want.  Sometimes I just don't have the energy to walk around the store and I haven't driven the go-carts yet.

Mary Ann

JoanFL

Sandy--Good morning.  I'm still getting used to this brand new site, too.

Good morning, halkel.  It's gloomy here, but so far no rain today.  I hope we hear from Jackie/Vanilla soon.

Larry--When  I lived in Arkansas, the tornado sirens got tested every Sat. at noon.  Here I have all these devices to alert me of bad weather.  I have a weather radio, and apps on my iPad and iPhone.

Bubble--It doesn't seem to me a brand new washing machine should vibrate like that.

June--Good morning.  GREAT you got your JL account straightened out.

Good morning, Callie--I have a five year old GE washer and dryer and neither one alerts me when it's finished.

Gloria--Good morning.  Have as many of these mini muffins as you desire.

Good morning, Mary Ann.  It seems this snow should be nearly done in your area for this year.  It's nice Tom does the grocery shopping when you just don't have the strength.

Good morning....

Jane, I think your house and mine must be twins :)  This is the dustiest house I think I have ever lived in!  We're in town with paved roads so don't know where its all coming from.  We didn't have this much dust when we lived in the country on a gravel section line road :).  Since it's cold, windy and drizzly out and I have two new books from the library, think I will just hunker down with my coffee and a good book and put on my blinders as far as the dust goes :).

Kelly, Jackie moved 152 miles to the southwest part of the country from the southeast.  She sent me a picture of her house which is really nice and in the distance you can see the sea.

Our tornado sirens are tested monthly on the first Wednesday of every month at 1PM.  Each town has its own siren system.   I have a NOAA weather radio that goes off when there are severe storms and the TV channel going, so the dogs and I close ourselves in my bedroom and the bathroom if it's necessary.  I really miss our underground storm cellars we had in Oklahoma but they don't have them down here.  Someday tho when I win the lottery, I am going to get an above ground safe room built in the corner of the garage :)

Callie, my washer/dryer are LG also :).  So is my refrigerator.  One thing that is neat about it is if the door isn't totally shut, it beeps to let you know.  Wish my upright freezer would do that.  One time the door on it didn't close properly and we lost everything in a full freezer.

Time for my coffee and book.  Have a good day everyone.

Hi Mary
It sounds like it is Bristol or further up or down the coast from there that Jackie has moved to.

Kelly

June Drabek

I finally got my Jacquie Lawson card deal worked out. And I am thankful. They gave me a page to re-register which I did so all is well.

I am feeling the results of being up since four o'clock this morning, so as soon as lunch is being served I will eat and come home and sleep.

Now if I could learn how to post a picture I will be content. Oldiesman made it sound so simple, but not for me. I thought I could just drag a picture from my desk top to the gallery. No such luck. It just prints out some words and letters that are not acceptable. Then it posted a picture that I did not want posted and it would not edit out, no matter how I try to delete it. Woe is me.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Denver

A good APRIL FOOLS DAY to EVERYFRIEND.

WELCOME, LLOYD.  Excited for you regarding the green house you are building.  Your "dirt" sounds like it will be perfect to grow anything that you desire.  I have always wanted a green house and a egg house.  Guess that is never going to happen, but I can still dream.

Thank you, JOAN, for our goodies today.  So nice to have them to enjoy everyday once again.

LARRY, the music is not really that annoying to us, and as a matter of fact it always gives us a chuckle and makes us ask, kiddingly of course....is the wash done, the dryer done or is it the dishwasher....and possibly the oven has reached it's temperature?

Yes, CALLIE, I knew your new w/d HAD to be LG just by your description.

SHIRLEY, I must tell you that I always enjoy your posts, unless they have bad news in them!  I would love to have you share a picture of your longer hair do with me...hint, hint.  I keep trying to let my hair grow out too, but it drives me nuts, so off I go to get it chopped off.  Wish I could do my own as you do.  Many.....heck, MOST times when I get home and see what she has done, I say, "I could have done better myself"!

MARY, have you had any contact with Jackie since her move?  I have not and must admit I will sure feel better when I do.

KELLY, I am quite certain it is not near Bristol where Jackie moved.  I, too, was sent the info and sadly, I have to admit I have forgotten just where it is.  Will do some checking and see if I can find it.  I wish you a nice rest as I am sure you are getting close to getting some rest.

BUBBLE, I agree, a new washer should not rumble like that.  Maybe you can ask your family to check and make sure it is level.

MARY ANN, it is good that Tom can and does get pretty much everything that you need at the store, but you should try the electric cart when you do go as it will allow you a bit more time to get around and see if there is anything lose you would like.

GLORIA, I do like your avatar....glad things are going well in your part of the world.  We have sunshine today and are to continue to have nice weather for several days now.  I love my sunshine, so it makes me a happy camper.

DEAR JUNE, I love your posts....so I am very happy to be up and running again in here!  Sounds like you are adjusting well to your new hoe, and that they are taking very good care of you.  HUGS.  I have never figured out how to post a photo in here....sure wish I could.

JANE, I noticed this morning when the sun shone in that I have a couple of flat surfaces that I too, could write my name in.  Guess I will risk a couple of demerits today, and take care of that problem.

Guess I had best say bye for now.....enjoy your Friday and do be aware that someone might just be ready to trick you!

The machine stopped vibrating now that it is on its carpet, or maybe it needed do that the first load?  Anyway I am quite happy with it.

I do have a new problem: a neighbor came to tell me my outside wall was leaking badly.  When I looked out the window ( the flat is on pillars) I could see it on two corners of the terrace.  The inside floor  was not wet nor the wall.  A puzzle.  I figured it might be a pipe from the above floor but no one answered the door there. It is Shabbat and no plumber available.  It will have to wait.
On the last look, water is starting to seep from the floor tiles.  Joy in perspective if these need to be opened or the wall tiles extracted.  I'll let you know.

MaryTX

Jenny, no I haven't heard from Jackie since her move.  I sent emails to both the email addys I had for her.  I got to thinking those may have been with a local internet provider and the messages didn't follow her.  I have Yahoo and can check anywhere I am.

I hope we hear soon.

Amy

Well, we are back home and tuckered. What an eventful day we had,we left early and on the road at 7.00am . We went down the road to pick up our friend and it had not one but TWO wash outs!! I bumped through the first one...shaking the "compost" out of us  :2funny: but stopped for the next one as it was bigger! A highway truck thankfully came in behind us and if I got stuck knew he would be able to help us out. My friend meet us at the wash out and off we went to the sale. What a great time we had and now we have all added to the insulation to our homes with the fabric we bought. On reaching the washed out road we found they had dumped two loads of sand but had yet to flatten it...we did mange to get through and one the way back out they had been and dozed it flat.
I don't know about the others but after a no sleep last night I am ready to check out the back of my eyelids....in a nap.

Lloyd, great to see you made it here!!
