7.30am listening to our BBC Breakfast programme, interview with Charlie Stayt asking about those measures introduced last night " what evidence does the government have that the 10 pm curfew which is one of the most significant elements of this will make a difference. "
referring to closure of our pubs and restaurants, customers out - doors will be locked at 10.pm...

Does the C-Virus disappear after 10 pm....just asking..

Our UK " now new " tougher, enforced, restrictions...penalties to those who ignore them...keep changing, hard to keep up with them, this is an ever changing situation..

" £10,000 fine for failure to self - isolate and business rule breaking "

" £200 fine for not wearing face coverings " in shops - public transport - taxi or in any indoor hospitality venue unless seated to eat or drink "
Isn't it good that people are allowed to remove their mask to eat and drink....

"This time last year, the headline we are facing today would have been unbelievable. Unfathomable. A sick joke. More than 200,000 people have died on American soil of a virus that, mere months ago, was completely unknown to us. Around the world, more than 970,000 lives have been lost. With no vaccine and no widely adopted solutions, the misery won't be ending soon.

We went back through our archives to see what it was like in those early days before the coronavirus pandemic became an international tragedy and changed nearly every aspect of our lives.

The first time CNN.com reported on the virus was January 8.

It was part of a so-called "mysterious pneumonia outbreak" in Wuhan, China. At the time, scientists reported no human-to-human transmissions and no deaths. We know now that the virus may have already been in the US at that time, silently lurking and spreading.

The virus was compared to the SARS pandemic that killed 774 people in Asia in 2002 and 2003. To put that in perspective, since the first known US Covid-19 death on February 6, an average of more than 858 people have died in the United States from the disease every day -- an entire SARS pandemic every several hours.

The first time you read about coronavirus in 5 Things was January 21.

"A new virus in China is threatening to become a pandemic," our subject line said. At the time, the official global death toll was six. By the time you finish reading this newsletter, at least six people in the world will have died of Covid-19 since you began.

That's not an exaggeration. There were 4,795 worldwide deaths yesterday. That's three deaths per minute.

To put it in another perspective, the total US coronavirus death toll is equivalent to one 9/11 attack every day for 66 days. The US coronavirus death toll is more than the number of Americans killed in battle in the five most recent wars combined: the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Iraq War, the War in Afghanistan, and the Persian Gulf War.

No matter how you do the math, you're left with truly horrifying figures. But those figures represent so much more. They represent real lives, real people who leave behind devastated families, and unfinished legacies. People who were it not for this virus, would probably still be alive today. No comparison can properly convey such a loss."

Our UK's hospital reality...Just said on our BBC news, as our C - Virus cases are beginning to rise again, and as our powers that be rightly states, " if we let this Virus get out of control, it will mean our NHS has no space once again to deal with cancer patients - and millions of other non Covid medical needs."
Half a million patients are waiting for more than six weeks for a diagnoses for cancer - heart attacks - and other conditions... our hospitals are struggling to clear the backlog..

Same situation in Israel with hospital at full capacity with Corona patients, staff overwhelmed and even anesthetists mobilized to look after the patients on breathing machines. No surgeries now except for life threatening cases.

... this is an unreal world we are now all living in, we never foresaw anything like this happening, we so took our hospitals for granted...We have so many people even afraid of going into hospital ( other medical issues ) for fear they will never come out of it alive, fear of becoming another C - Virus statistic...

This is not the place for political messages however, because of US political pressures, it is very hard to get an accurate message other than new cases and or new deaths.

Alaskan Regional trends

Juneau City and Borough now has the highest rate of viral transmission, having increased its rate to 16.3, continuing the rise from 13.4 last week and 6.3 the week before.

Fairbanks North Star Borough has the second highest rate of viral transmission with a case rate of 15.9, a slight decrease from 17.1 the week before.

The Northwest Region had the steepest increase this week among communities with high transmission, with a rate now at 15.6 from 10.7 the previous week.

Anchorage Municipality remains in the high transmission category and has again improved slightly from last week.

The Y-K Delta region increased from 6.0 to 8.4, remaining within the intermediate zone.

The Interior Region, Mat-Su and Northern Southeast Region also saw increases this week.

Other regions' case rates downtrended this week.

The coronavirus seems to be getting somewhat better here in our area overall but I notice that the pediatric numbers are going up and that is no doubt due to the schools' opening. The person who originally designed the Florida Covid-19 site refused to doctor the numbers and they let her go. However, she started her own site and knows where to get the information and I follow her site which is much better than the original one.

Presently we have 342 pediatric cases, with 11 new ones today and 4 admitted to the hospital.

That's not good, Jean, about the children but we're seeing the same thing here.

I don't normally watch gossip channels, don't even know who's who anymore but I saw this video from the UK listed on a TMZ? site on the main Youtube page. It's about a woman in a liquor store who began destroying wine bottles after she was asked to follow the social distancing rules.

A new study says countries should meet five criteria before easing lockdown measures. But unfortunately, many nations are not even close. Leaders in Europe are announcing new restrictions to curb the spread of Covid-19 as cases surge and the continent deals with a second coronavirus wave.

Although deaths from the virus are still well below their peak, experts warn that the signs point to more tragedy ahead this winter. A second wave is also underway in most of Canada. The US, meanwhile, is still in its first wave, given that cases never declined significantly, says Dr. Anthony Fauci. He warned that the nation should prepare for the challenges ahead in fall and winter.

It's protests like the ones in the US and this one in the UK that keeps killing thousands. One of the craziest signs was held by a woman who stated "I will never stop fighting for my child's future!"

Isn't that ironic that her method and actions could easily bring the disease and death to that child?!?

16 people have been arrested and nine officers injured following demonstrations in central London against C - Virus restrictions.
( they are put in place for a reason whether we like it or not. )
Thousands gathered in Trafalgar Square in protest of the latest government rules with " very few wearing masks."
Metropolitan police said the protest had been shut down because the crowd was not complying with " social distancing."

While people worldwide are protesting they can't do whatever they want, whatever their little minds perceive, regardless of others and spreading false information as fast as they can make it up; from CNN today,

More than 1 million people have now died of the coronavirus worldwide, less than nine months after the first death was confirmed in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The US, Brazil, India, and Mexico account for more than 50% of the total death toll. What's worse: Cases in these stricken countries are still skyrocketing. India recently surpassed 6 million cases, and 95,000 people have died in the country -- although Indian officials warn these numbers may be woefully underreported.

More than 141,000 people have died of the coronavirus in Brazil, the second-highest total in the world, and the US tops the grim list with more than 200,000 deaths. While the world holds out hope for a vaccine to curb the devastation (35 are now in human trials around the world), health experts worry that the death toll may double before any widespread relief is available.

What do we British do when our Prime Ministers relations - our Members of Parliament flout our C-Virus rules, when we are expected to abide by them..As on our news this morning discussing whilst showing our newspaper front pages photos - stories..Boris Johnsons father photo snapped inside a shop not wearing a face mask, with a newspaper headline stating "so when is your dad getting fined then, Boris, " our second photo snapped newspaper headline was of former Labour leader Jeremy Corbin apologising when photo snapped at a dinner party sitting at a table breaching our rule of six, sitting with nine people..
Seems to be one rule for us, one rule for them..These are the people who should be setting an example...

V-J...It's just not in the UK. Same story here...Everybody has a different "theory"...and it ends up that it's all "me, me, me." There's no concern for anybody else, it seems. Here, it seems men in their teens and though 40s are adamant about not wearing masks. It seems to reflect on their "masculinity" somehow. I don't get it, but that's what I see.

Of course our Pres. doesn't wear a mask and downplays the need, etc.

Jane it is the same way in Alaska. People are running around, braying about their "rights," while cases are soaring, and the majority of new cases and deaths are age forty and under.

10.pm newsreader, quoting, " see if this makes any sense, your an MP, you have symptoms, you have the test, and then before you get the result you go all the way from Scotland to London by train to the House of Commons to give a speech on Monday, ( then showing and naming the female MP in question, ) just before her test came back as positive, the next day she then travelled all the way home to Scotland again by train, 400 miles." Very bad luck if you happen to be in a carriage with her. And not surprisingly the MP in question has been suspended after an apology was not enough. No wonder everybody is outraged with her, she knowingly put peoples lives in danger.....

As you've probably heard, our Pres and his wife, have tested positive for covid...according to their reporting.
As you can guess, some believe it, some think it's a "hoax" as he called the coronavirus.

He said it affects "virtually nobody" in one of his ramblings, so I guess he's a "nobody"...

Things are just chaotic here, and I hate chaos.

We have slowly climbed higher via new cases in this city. Now, today, 30 new cases. And what is even more concerning is while every age group is represented statewide, the age group with the most cases has been dropping lower. Now the age group with the most cases by far is the twenty to twentynine group.

National Geographic has updated until noon October first and they posted this;

"The United States has surpassed 200,000 coronavirus deaths, meaning the pandemic has claimed nearly twice as many American lives as those lost in every U.S-involved conflict since World War II combined. And the toughest roads could be ahead.

Parts of the nation may be witnessing the first days of an autumn surge, as the seven-day average for new coronavirus cases has been steadily rising above 34,000 since September 13. Tallies are high and rising in 15 states—mainly in the Midwest, where the virus is spreading uncontrollably. Nationwide, deaths are still hovering around 900 to 1,000 per day.

The global death tally has surpassed one million. And as autumn approaches and people move indoors, where the virus is more likely to spread, concerns are rising of a resurgence in the U.S. akin to what is already occurring in some parts of Europe. These worries are buttressed by a continuous flow of micro-surges at grade schools and colleges. The New York Times has identified 88,000 coronavirus cases at nearly 1,200 colleges across the U.S."
