Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

I've been watching the news with tears rolling down my cheeks. I can barely imagine what the father of these redhead children is going through...
What kind of people are they to bring their kids to cheer and dance before the coffins that are paraded before being handed to the Red Cross?
It hurts...
Thank you for sharing my anguish.

patricia19

These are the same people who danced and paraded through the streets when news of 9/11 came out. This behavior isn't new, as tragic and horrific as it is.

BarbStAubrey

Oh Bubble  :'(  :(  :o  :-* It would be perfect to sit next to you while you weep

patricia19

The babies weren't killed in an airstrike but by bare hands.

The woman's body sent as their mother was instead an older Gazan woman.

IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari: Ariel and Kfir Bibas were murdered in cold blood

MarsGal

I am so sorry, Bubble. There are no adequate words for what these barbarians are doing and have done. My condolences to all the families who lost friends and relatives, and to the entire nation of Israel for, again, having to endure such atrocities.

so_P_bubble

Thank you.
Two of the released hostages today were captured over ten years ago.
Can you fathom what the families are going through? Did they lost hope to see them? Did the two captive men believed they had been abandoned, forgotten?
Is it possible to go back to normal life after such an ordeal?

The authorities even had interpreters to receive them in case they had learned to speak Arabic after all that time and had forgotten how to use Hebrew   :(

BarbStAubrey

Last night Ed Henry on Newsmax attending CPAC let it slipped how the two babies were murdered - too awful just too awful - if their mother was there than thank God she was also killed - she would have not been ever able to cope.

Marilyne

The return of the hostages - both dead and live, was not shown on the mainstream media TV channels - ABC, CBS or NBC.   The story was probably mentioned, but no pictures.   Same with the two print newspapers that I read:  no pictures . . .  story on page 11. :(
Bubble,  I hope and pray that things will turn out well for Israel, in the long run. It will take a lot of time and a lot of work, but there is hope for a better future ahead.

patricia19

It was all shown on YouTube.

CallieOK

Patricia,  I don't watch YouTube unless my dancing granddaughter has a tape on there- which is rarely.
And, lovingly said, I wish you hadn't posted about how the babies were killed on here.

Marilyne, our ABC National News had pictures of the two babies and stories about the wrong body.

patricia19

I don't care for social media or own a radio or television, so all my news comes from YouTube or video news programs.

The hostage  - a Muslim - that was kept by Hamas for over ten years  was returned but hasn't uttered one word since he was reunited with his family.  When his dad hugged him, he said that he felt as if he was holding a lifeless copy of his son: no reaction, no emotion.
How many years will it take to rehabilitate him, if at all?

His Muslim father's testimony burns with truth: "He was in a torture camp, with people who are not human."
"We were happy to start hugging him but I saw that I was embracing something that wasn't human...He looks human but isn't human. He can't speak, has no voice, has no memory of anything."
Before their "Islamic care," despite his illness, Hisham could speak and write.

MarsGal

That is incredibly sad, Bubble.

Marilyne

Bubble, thank you for posting this sad story. My hope is that it will be seen by people around the world, and will be an awakening for those who don't understand or refuse to see all sides of Islamic terrorism.

Denver

A good Monday HELLO.

I apologize for not checking in sooner.  My second cataract eye surgery went very well and now I have two matching eyes to see out of.  I have felt much more need to rest this eye than I did with the first one.  I am trying not to use this device any more than necessary.  I often just sit with my eyes closed as it is soothing to them.  I am doing the eye drops religiously as advised and find that I really look forward to putting them in for comfort.

Other than that we are just kind of taking it easy.  We are hoping to start playing tourist soon as there are many areas we want to revisit here while we have the chance.

I, too, share the heartbreak that you and many are feeling over the tragedy in your country, BUBBLE.  It is just unimaginable that something like this could possibly happen to innocent children😩

I wish you ALL a good week

Love & comfort to you, Denver.  So glad the worst is probably behind you now.

Denver

Good morning 😃

We will be enjoying another beautiful 70 degree plus day here in Prescott.  We had a nice rain here last week and now everything is greening up and trees are budding.  It is a bit too soon for that happening in February as there is plenty of cold temperatures to come.

Thank you, MARYPAGE.  Definitely the worse of my cataract surgeries are behind me.  Everyday I am enjoying my clearer vision more and more.  Just looking up at the beautiful blue sky is a treat‼️ I appreciate your "love and comfort" wishes, and I send love and hugs back to you❣️

Wishing you ALL a good day when you read this post🦋

MaryPage -
Good to see you here yesterday. Come back soon and let us know how you're feeling and what you're doing.  Isn't it almost time for your birthday?

Jenny -
Good to see you checking in this morning.  Glad your cataract surgery is all  over with.  Isn't it amazing how bright and clear and beautiful everything looks, when the cataracts are finally gone!?

Hoping we hear from other members today?

Was searching back on my computer this morning and found myself in Seniorsand friends.  So good to see many names I remember.  Callie, I see you are a Grandmother now and I certainly remember that dinner in Oklahoma. Bubble my thoughts are often with you these days and really happy to see you on here.   Marypage, just stay well.  I am now in Aged Care, and doing the best I can but with 103 approaching cannot expect too much.  Have 2 Great Grand Daughters now.my eldest has surprised us all with her accomplishments and at present at Oxford -England- for one semester returning in July.
Rammel, pleased to see you and other names I remember, still appearing.  Not on line very often but amazed myself to be able to find this place.
The WORLD appears to be in trouble, and I hope and wish that Peace returns.

RAMMEL

Junee - Great to see your post here. The group is dwindling, so don't lose our Internet Address.  Hope all's going well down there, and you're keeping out of trouble.

Junee, it's SO nice to "cyber-see" you here!  I enjoyed "real-seeing" you several times at Bashes and Oklahoma visits.

" Callie, I see you are a Grandmother now..."  I'm a GREAT Grandmother now! Great grandson is 9 months old and leading his grandparents in a Merry Chase.
My three grandchildren are grown.  The oldest has lived in New York City for 8 years and loves it, the middle one is married, has her doctorate in Chiropractic, has opened her own clinic and the youngest is the proud father of Great grandson.

So nice to have you found yourself in Seniors and Friends  :smitten:  Hope you find us again!
.

Marilyne

Junee -  What a pleasant surprise to look in tonight and see a message from you!  Wonderful that you're still enjoying your computer.  Please return again soon, and tell us more about the place where you live, and more  about  your   two  great-granddaughters?

MarsGal

Great to see your post Junee. I thought we lost all our Australian friends, but here you are at 103, WOW! A few years ago, when this site crashed and we all had to sign up again with a new account, you may have known me as Frybabe. I changed to Marsgal here, but still go by Frybabe on SeniorLearn. Sadly, there is even less activity over there now, except for Ginny's Latin classes.

BarbStAubrey

ahhh Junee now I've put it together - thanks MarsGal for including in your post that Junee was in Australia - now it falls into place - yes, yes, wonderful to read your post but doubly so now that I made the connection - For you a full life - congratulations - either a stroke of luck or you did something 'right' - Although in new surroundings it sounds like your family is close -

Junee seems to me, I am vaguely remembering, it was you who introduced me to Manuka Honey that originated in your part of the world and the company relocated to Florida - if it was you, thanks - a boon to me over the years - Hope you can post more often and tell us more about where you are living and share some of your memories...

Paul and Sally will be over later today to help me hang a few more things and I found a really inexpensive carpet on Amazon that I need help laying and so that is also on the list -

Sun sorta out - not in and out but more like a haze between us and the sun but very bright and warm, warm, warm. Tra La...

Ciaobella

MarsGal, thank you so much for clarifying aka Frybabe on the other site. I had no clue.

Junee, 103 yrs old, I can only pray for such a blessing.  Do you remember Gumtree who also was from Australia?  I so loved her posts. Good to see you here.

Jenny, so glad your eye surgery went well, and you are seeing clear with both eyes.  I had to giggle when you said you were able to look up and see a blue sky.  I remember the day my hubby got his hearing aids, and we walked out to our car, and he stopped suddenly, I asked if he was okay and he said, "I can hear the birds singing. I haven't heard them forever."  Little things in life are so important like seeing a blue sky and hearing the birds sing.

Bubble, I have no words for the heartache you and your beloved Israel.  The story of the hostage son seeming lifeless and not able to speak leaves our imagination running wild with what he must have experienced.  Barb's scripture verses I pray gives us all hope and comfort for a peaceful world.

Barb, sounds like you are having a bit of fun with the new rug and wall hangings Paul and Sally are so graciously helping you with.  I'm feeling a bit of Spring in the air myself here in Ohio.

I have recently been diagnosed with cirrhosis.  I went into the ER for food poisoning, and they did a scan and there is a small scarring on my liver.  I am not even a casual drinker, never done drugs and no long-term prescriptions so they are thinking family genetics since on my mother's side there are others in the same situation. My doctor has reassured me this is manageable, and they will keep a watch with scans and scopes.  I did have Hepatitis A when I was 18 yrs. old so who knows if that could be a factor.  I've never had any indication or symptoms, so this was a huge surprise to me. So now I join those who know the life of scheduling appointments.  My sister was diagnosed with this, and her doctors did a great job managing hers for 15 yrs. with lots of other medical problems, so I am very optimistic since all my tests have shown other than this everything looks great.

All of you are such an inspiration with such positive attitudes in aging that I feel I was led to this page for your friendship and insights.  May you all have a wonderful day!
  :smitten:

Ciao for now~

Thank you for my welcome back, at least you missed me...

Jackie, Jackie!  Bless your buttons.

I cannot myself attest to my extreme old age, not as great as Junee's as yet, Hi, Junee!  But two things that are spurring me on:  one is my TWENTY-EIGHT great grandchildren & the other is the 100th birthday celebration we have already started planning.

Speaking of great grandsons, my Sam who is a composer studying & working at Julliard (did I spell that right?) had his big night at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday & nephew Peter took a friend & they visited with Sam after the performance & were very impressed.  Hooray!  That's the kind of thing that keeps me going!
