Posted by Radioman, Don:

I just got a call from Hal Kelly's wife.  Hal died at home this afternoon shortly after returning from the hospital. I have no details nor did I press for any..I spoke to him at great length this morning and everything was fine, so I'm a bit of shock as as well.

My sincere condolences to Hal's family. Very much a part of our "family" here, he will be greatly missed.

Hal, it was fun talking to you - when keeping away from politics!
Your presence here in S@F will be greatly missed. You were loved by us all
as you were by your close-knit family.
My most sincere condolences go to his wife and children.

I will miss Hal and his posts.  He was very thoughtful and kind.  I know all of us here will miss him.  I'm glad for him that he could die at home.

This is a very sad morning for all the S & F friends today.  This has been a very sad week.  Hal's passing has sure been a shock that will take a while to fully realize.  He did have a very close-knit  family and I am sure it will take a while for them to come to terms with this.  He must have been doing a lot better for them to send him home.  Mary Ann, yes, I agree.  These sudden deaths are so easy for the patient, but oh, so hard on the family.  My thoughts go out to his  wife and family.

Gloria

With thoughts of HAL for his family and friends here in S&F.

In my prayers
Terri McPherson

As you make your way
through a fog of tears,
a landslide of heartache
and multiple fears,

I'll remember you
in my prayers.

While God holds you safe
in the palm of His hand
and sends His angels
to help you stand,

I'll remember you
in my prayers.

Each minute you long
for peace and rest,
courageously fighting
this willful test,

I'll remember you
in my prayers.

When a ray of hope
pierces the night
and your faith is renewed
by the heavenly sight,

I'll drop to my knees
and thank the Lord
for the grace of prayer
and your spirit restored.

I dreaded coming in this morning, I saw the news last night and couldn't talk.  Thank you Don for the news and Bubble for the link.

My sincere sympathy for Hal's "girls" (that includes his wife)... and his "pup".  I never knew a man so open about his love for his famiy and joy when they visited.  He was delighted when they could get together and appreciated everything anyone did for him.  We will miss his cheery posts and offer of that first cup of coffee in the morning, but for sure, his home will be very empty without the love he shared so freely.  I expect that "pup" will get extra rub downs (as Hal described them) and tears shared by the family in the days to come.  We will think of him often, his teasing and kind posts will be missed.  "God Bless and sweet dreams", as he so often said when the day ended.  Hal, it has been a pleasure knowing you.  Shirley (in Kansas)

My prayers go out to his family.  It is so sad to lose another S&F friend.

Hal was such a vital part of SeniorNet, other between groups and then Seniors and Friends. I'll miss our emails about Camp Needham and San Antonio. He was always outspoken but kind and generous when a helping hand was needed.

My sympathies to his family, friends, Lady and to us here as we go on without as Shirley said, that offered first cup of coffee on the patio.

Mary Ann

It's hard to lose two such vital and important people of our group within such a short time.  I know Jeanne Lee's family had some warning but Hal's family did not.  My sympathy to both families at this difficult time - especially for the families, but also to us who will miss both of them.

Mary Ann

Amy

Shirley, his "pup" will be so lost without Hal  as the rest of his family will be. You said it all in your post. Hal will sorely be missed by all.

So I will sit here in silence and deal with my silent thoughts.

We all will miss you Hal.  Happy sailing.

Shocked to read about Hal's passing as he seemed to be happy with his Dr. report last week. He will be missed by us all who knew him from his postings.

I will miss the friendly bets with Hal on football games between various Texas/Oklahoma universities.
Winners always received a "Yankee Dime".  Hal was a winner in every way among Everyfriends on S & F.  Rest in Peace, Hal.   :-*

He always closed with these words.
Nite, nite, God Bless and sweetdreams
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Shirley

Thank you, June, I came in to give the closing prayer for Hal as well.  He will be missed.

Marilyne

I missed seeing Hal's posts today in S&F.  I always enjoyed reading what he had to say every day, about his daily life and his family, as well as memories from his childhood.  He was kind and compassionate toward each and every one of us here, and always encouraging to those who weren't feeling well, or those who had a family member who was ailing.  I will miss his cheerful good morning "coffee pot" greeting, and his nightly, "God bless and sweet dreams".   Prayers going out tonight for his wife, and his daughters, and all other family members.  May he rest in peace.

I still expect to see a post by our Hal. He was so vital to those of us who hadn't  even met him. His loving family are in my prayers, in their grief. And his beloved dog. I have a feeling that Hal is still present in Spirit. Thanks Hal.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Mary Ann

I look every day for an obit for Hal but have not found one yet.  I've looked in the San Antonio newspaper and today I looked in the Mineral Wells newspaper as Hal said he was born in Mineral Wells.  I'll keep looking.

My computer crashed and have just got it back working again.  Has Hal's obit been posted in the San Antonio paper?
